How sad. Stanley-I mean Spike is doomed.
He's doomed, but he's okay with it, that's all that counts I suppose... as long he doesn't give up and die, but it's Spike, so that wont happen..
Really nice story.
Of course, what Discord's overlooking is that Spike is a kid. He wouldn't be leading an exciting, self-actualized life if he was not living as Twilight's assistant; he'd probably be going to school with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, getting an inferior education to the one he's getting and being treated as if he's even more useless and irrelevant (Spike at least gets to be Twilight's sidekick. The CMC are treated as, well, fillies; no one would involve them in heroic deeds at all, they would insist the kids get to safety. And between Twilight as a teacher and Cheerilee... well, I'm sure Cheerilee is very nice, but being Twilight's personal apprentice is probably giving Spike a much better overall education, albeit skewed toward things he strictly speaking doesn't need to know, like an understanding of magic that he can't do.)
That being said, Discord was probably either never a kid, or was more or less entirely responsible for himself when he was, so it's fair that he wouldn't get that.

This was actually very well thought out! I tried to think of a ponyfied version of the game, but I didn't know which character I should pick, for what situation.
A good read. (if not short.)
Although I must admit I'm not a fan of the copy paste you did for Discord's lines. (yes they were changed to suit this scene, but still...)
