Lets face it. The last episode of Season 3 made absolutely no sense at all. So, inspired by 'How It Should Have Ended' videos, I have written three versions of how 'Magical Mystery Cure' SHOULD have ended. Enjoy, and don't forget to leave a comment stating what you think.

Chapters (3)
Comments ( 31 )

Alicorn doesn't seem to be so much a species as a sort of higher form. Twilight wasn't born into some incredible species that has the right to rule all others, she achieved her true purpose and ascended. So no, having only alicorns be Princesses is about as racist as having ponies who would make good princesses be princesses, which is to say not at all.

Because Twilight is a master of magic. That was how she ascended. She didn't achieve alicornism by casting the spell, she achieved it by completing the spell. She created new magic, finished the work of a master, her ultimate achievement. As an example: King Arthur pulls the sword from the stone, making him King. He is not King because he holds the sword, anyone can do that now. Just because he lets someone else hold it doesn't make them King as well. No, he becomes King because HE was the only one who could PULL THE SWORD FROM THE STONE, just as Twilight becomes a Princess because only SHE could FINISH THE SPELL.

That was awesome.

3965326 So you're saying that because Twilight accomplished something, that is what caused her to change species? That doesn't make any sense. By that logic, every pony in Equestria should have the potential to change into an alicorn whenever they achieve something great, like Rainbow Dash being the first pony to ever perform a Sonic Rainboom, or Fluttershy being able to tame Discord, or Shining Armor with his powerful shield spell, and yet they haven't. Besides, they never explain what exactly Starswirl's spell ultimately did anyway.
Also, when I mentioned Merlin and Arthur in the previous chapter, I was referring to the BBC TV series Merlin, in which Arthur is already a Prince and being raised to take over for his father, the king, someday, and doesn't pull the sword from the stone until much later. The other version of the story in which Arthur is just a peasant who becomes king just by pulling a sword from a stone is pretty stupid. But don't take my word for it. Just watch this clip from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I agree. MMC was... bad.

EDIT: Although the Mane Six started it in Boast Busters. :p ;)

3965424 She didn't change species, she leveled up. A good comparison would be like evolution in Pokemon. And of course that was unique to her. Her name is Twilight, as in between Day and Night, as in the two immortal rulers of her world. Her Cutie Mark is central to the Tree of Harmony, the closest thing this show has to the depiction of a God. She is central to the destiny of her entire world! Sure it sorta makes sense based on her career path to be a professor of magic or something, but that doesn't really fit when you consider she is so important to the destiny of Equestria.

3965572 Twilight being some sort of a messiah or chosen one doesn't make any sense because Equestria seems to be a complete paradise where everything is fine, aside from the occasional evil villain. They don't need any messiah or chosen one.
Twilight's parents gave her her name. It doesn’t mean anything. And Photo Finish and Masquerade also have the same cutiemark as Twilight does.

Both of these endings were amazing and I really liked what the first one said about it

3966107 Her name is still symbolic. It's called writing fiction. And I didn't say she was the Messiah, just a really important Pony. And Twilight says "My Cutie Mark!" Twilights not being vain. Someone wrote her saying that for the script of the show, and nobody contradicts her, so its true.

the first one was better, but both were fun.:pinkiehappy:

All hail Dr. Twilight Sparkle M.C.

I kinda disagree. Especially about her taking a vacation with her friends being swapped and hurting themselves. :applejackconfused:

For more details, I invite you to read this.

4090453 Well, that part was just supposed to be for humor. I don't really think Twilight would abandon her friends when they need help. I was just trying to add a bit of comedy to the story.

Wait! She voiced the girl on Symbiotic Titan?

This first chapter made a heck of a lot of sense. Magic and politics are two different things. I agree about the Mane 6 being knighted though. I love Trixie but Celestia did bring a good point (I still want to see her reformed though.) I can also see Trixie, Gilda and Lightning Dust getting along.

MMC was a pile of shit, the whole cutie mark thing was the opposite of everything that was told and hinted for 3 years on the show, and the coronation make no sense at all story wise.

Heck, In season 4 the guards are the only ones who care about the rank of Twilight, and we need to wait until Twilight time to have the child take conscience about the fact that Twilight is a princess. NO OTHER characters give a fuck about her, wich prove that it's a pointless idea only here to sell new toys and nothing else.

4090701 Have you read my story 'Equestrian Knights'? Trixie, Gilda, and Lightning Dust, and several other characters team up in that.

4091412 Nope, too many other characters.

"I'm sure they'll be just fine. Everything is going to be fine! *slam*"

how about twilight acends and celestia and twilight find pinkie there

pinkie should be a what ever discord is can't ever spell it right

This...actually makes a lot of sense.

It'd be one thing if Twilight studied politics in addition to magic as Celestia's student, but no, the focus of her studies, the be-all and end-all of her knowledge is Magic. By this point the only Pony who knows more on the subject than her would be Starswirl himself.

But politics is a completely different ballgame, one Twilight has no ability or knowledge of how to even play, as evidenced by her first major act as a princess being to smile, wave and lower a flag...don't even get me started on the whole 'trading Fluttershy into slavery' thing or the incident with the claim jumpers in 'The Good, the Bad & the ponies'.

Great work, very funny.

Good work, this chapter was even better. I do like how this Twilight being upset about Celestia making her Alicorn Princess without asking her.

Good work on this story.

Meanwhile, in a pub somewhere, the great and powerful Trixie was sitting at a bar stool, a mug of cider in her hoof. Sitting beside her, on her right, was Gilda the griffon, and on her left, sat Lightning Dust the Pegasus.

Making your way evil today sure does take a lot. . .
