I wish everyone thought so, It has five dislikes already and at least three of those came without the read counter raising one point. And meanwhile the first story hasn't gained any new dislikes, so some people are just doing this out of pure spite. It is quite shameful.

People are just like that, They look at the story then if they dislike any part of it (Cover, Characters tagged etc etc) then they thumb it down, yet to get this myself seeing none of my works are even published yet but its what I've seen happen, good example is Fallout Equestria story's in that Universe get thumbed down just for being in it

Damn, this is good! Can't wait to see what happens next, but I can understand the pain of long shifts... I work ten hours a day twenty days straight, then I get a week off, but it still wears on a person, so much so that after a while a single week isn't enough of a rest. I hope you still have time to put into this delightful story, as it's definitely worth the wait.
I have to say that I am enjoying this story. I had not realize you had started a new story. I do like what I am reading so keep up the good job you are doing. I do hope to see more of this story soon.

Just got my eyes fixed with Lasik, so I decided it was a good enough time to get some motivation and post.
I shouldn't fall behind, considering I have a rough sketch of future chapters formulated.
But that also depends on how distracted I get with Capcom's Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (MH4U), great game... ;)

It's not just the Alicorn OC; it's that plus he's apparently sexing up/has sexed up all the mares plus he tells off Celestia, for something that sounds very out of character for her, with Luna taking his side (of course). And he's the moral high ground on top of that. Those are a lot of things to swallow.

Hahah. But in all seriousness, it is just one iteration of the world twisted in a way that I can shove a story in there. You aren't allowed to take things that seriously in a fanfic. There is just so much you miss out on if you take each role 'by the book'. If I want to paint Celestia as a little bit of a controlling tyrant, sure. If I wanted to make this extra un-accurate I could always kill everyone ;)
Point is, you are reading clop written by an amateur (I hated writing and passed with C's for english in my grade and high schools, I don't hate it as much anymore though), directed by guilty conscience (due to a strict christian background), written mostly at 11pm or later(in small bursts). Just have fun with it!

Yeah all the way back since Penchant I have been painting Celestia as an imperfect leader. She makes more than her fair share of mistakes. Luna is better off, her banishment of 1000 years has kept her out of the "I am Equestria and none shall defy me" mindset that Celestia has slipped into after running the kingdom alone for so long. Living forever can be looked at as a blessing or curse.

Back in the prequel Celestia could have had Ike sent back, but she didn't . Also Ike staying and living in Equestria technically puts him under Celestia's rule, not to mention she thinks she is owed his allegiance because both the band of power and his status as an Alicorn were gifted by the sisters.
Celestia isn't a bad guy for wanting to make sure Ike's dark side is kept in check. She is just overly controlling, and unequipped to handle the situation properly. The younger Celestia in Dr. Whooves: The Redemption Of Equestria was more pure, not having the hardship and toil of running a kingdom for 1000 years alone. So her flaws are understandable.

6043341 hahahah, alicorn are powerful, yes. But other than special talents (celestia and luna's power over the sun and moon) they find most of their magical strength in the bands of power. While he could probably wipe the floor with a ship full of pirates or use magic to flee he would be otherwise occupied if any enemies reached the innocents on board.
