Space Mormons? I mean Word Bearers?

This might turn out to be unpleasant.

For the ponies I mean. Not for me. :pinkiecrazy:

Death to the false Emperor!:flutterrage:

And Kharn?!

I LOVE YOU. :pinkiehappy::heart:

Oh it's these dirty nasty bloodthristy barbarians!

Excellently written I must say, and a good introduction to the main character. I hope this fic does well, it would be a shame for it do be unnoticed.

equestria will burn in unholy fire

FOR THE GODS

Technically, didn't the shamans use magic? And isn't Psyker basically space magic? Also, considering evil space demons are threatening people's souls, is magic REALLY that unlikely in the Warhammer verse?

3422390 Magic is simply the way a mortal explains the warp. The warp isn't magic, but is a manifestation of psychic energy. According to Horus in "Horus Rising" Daemon is simply a name used to bridge the gap. Daemon is simply the closest applicable word, similar to magic. In Betrayer, Lorgar becomes angry with Angron for referring to his powers as magic. All these terms are simply condescending terms to bring a bout understanding. Similar to layman's terms.

3422444 The only knowledge I have comes from the wiki, two of my friends who have the miniatures, and the video games. Also, from my knowledge about the Emperor, if he were able to leave the Throne, wouldn't he be horrified and shocked of what the Imperium is doing, ya know, like how they pretty much call him God?

3422763 He would. That is true. I suggest that you get the books, they are very well written...with the exception of CS Goto's books. He's a waste of paper. The two best authors are Dan Abnett and Aaron Dembski-Bowden, just so that you have a starting point.

3422839 thanks, almost bought a 40K novel once, too expensive though. About the Death Watch I think

“You should repaint your armor red, Kharn,” Argel Tal joked as he offered his hand.

So that's where he got the idea.....

This chapter was brutal. MOAR! :flutterrage:

Holy balls, OK, I might only know a bit about the 40K verse, but DANG, this chapter are Blood Knights.

That repainting your armour thing.

Nice reference to the Butchers Nails

This is nice. What bugs me most though is that the ponies are so accepting of 8 foot giants that just came from the sky and caused migraines across the entire planets.

3427298 Not acceptance...call it fearful silence.

The Word Bearers are fanatics to the bone although Argel Tal is a bit different because he has seen the truth that all the other members of his legion seek and pray to, hes also one of my favorite characters.
The World eaters on the other hand where a bunch of raging madmen with little restraint even before their fall to chaos, after that it got worse and they just went full "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! IT MATTERS NOT WHOSE!" aka, kill everything.

So, this chapter figured out that the Empy is a god thing to be bull? Also, ARE there even actual gods in the Warverse? Besides the Chaos Gods that the Necrons allied with.

3431635
At this point in Warhammer 40k, a chapter is only a sub-division of a legion. Your average legion is around ten thousand Space Marines. There are ten chapters of a thousand. Within each chapter there is a company of a hundred. Each company is further divided into ten squads of ten. However, the Ultramarines and Word Bearers are unique in the fact that they have high numbers. Ultramarines are around two hundred fifty thousand Space Marines. The Word Bearers are around one hundred and fifty thousand to two hundred thousand. An old quote from the Great Crusade: To capture a city, send a Space Marine. To capture a continent, send a squad. To capture a planet, send a company. To capture a system, send a chapter. This all changed in the Horus Heresy, when the Loyalists found themselves matched in power by the Traitors. Furthermore, the Traitors were empowered by the warp.
God, once again is simply a relative term in Warhammer 40k. Not even the Chaos Gods are gods. They are godlike to humans. Likewise, the C'tan are not actually gods, god is just the closest word to describing them. People bridge gaps a lot.

3431964 I know about a bit about the HH, and ive read a bit of the history on the wiki, so, there are no actual gods in the Warverse?

3431988 There are no gods. God in the Warverese is a relative term.

3431996 Well, except, in the eyes of the Imperium, the Emperor

3432553 Even that is relative. He seems like a god to the Imperium.

3433655 I wonder, what will happen when Empy finally kicks the bucket when the Throne goes kaput? I think the Chaos Gods will steamroll over the Imperium.

3433792 Considering that the Emperor is the only psychic entity capable of actually besting Chaos within the warp, I'd say the material realm would be utterly consumed. What makes it scary is the fact that the throne's failure to keep the Emperor alive is inevitable.

3434125 some people believe this would screw everyone, others believe it as a good thing, not sure how, when elderitch godlike Reapers are gonna munch on their souls for breakfast.

Excellent intro, you are getting better with your stories.

hmm rather curious I wonder how this universe's Celestia will handle the Chaos Space Marines

Argel Tal facing Celestia is going to be good but i somehow think this story would have been better without Khârn in it, not that i don't like him he is a pretty swell guy after all but the World eaters never where that big on the whole chaos worship thing even before they became all MAIM KILL BURN and would hardly care about one world that has absolutely no significance for them when there is a far greater, and by extension bloodier, battle to be had ahead.

3480770 Kharn will come in handy later. When Twilight says "both", she isn't aware of the difference between the World Eaters and Word Bearers...yet.

Celestia is the emperor only weaker and both argel tal and khàrn will kick the ever living shit out of her and anyone else they deem unworthy.

A bit short, but I guess you wanna build up to what happens. If you've read The Warmistreas of Equestria or God-Empress of Ponykind, where the Emperor, after slaying the Chaos Gods, gets trapped on an unformed Equestria as Celestia, it would be awesome if it crossovers, imagine the surprise on their faces when they find out Celestia is The Emperor. :pinkiehappy:v:rainbowlaugh:

3486638 Then Lorgar would come down and try to kill her.

You certainly hate Shining Armor don't you. Also are we going to see some chaos ponies, or will they be exterminated.

3496581 Hate him? Not really. I just enjoy having my characters punting him around. It's amusing. As for Chaos ponies, we'll see.

You don't need to embrace chaos to serve chaos. Ponies are different because they actively deny the truth and now they have two options open to them, either they embrace the truth and try to rise above what they are by asserting themselves on the top by using the power they possess or they will be suppressed and eventually destroyed.
Now i also see why Khârn is there, Argel Tal might be a great fighter and prophet of the truth but he hates what he has become and what he must do.
Khârn on the other hand lives and thrives through war and conflict regardless of its source and goal. War for the sake of war.

Also i think its hilarious how an enormous number of fics displays the royal guards and by extension Shining Armor fiercely devoted to protecting the Princesses who need absolutely no protection against the things they could do something about and against the things the Princesses need protection from the guards are worse then helpless.

3497615 At the same time, simply serving is almost tantamount to embracing. Even if at first it is not your intent to embrace it, it will continue to suck you in. The Warp is like an addictive substance in that way. You may hate being addicted to it, but you can't give it up. Its just to precious.
As for the guard, I would assume that a thousand years of peace will leave any military weak. I don't think that the Guard's role is truly to protect the Princesses, they are simply ceremonial. This is simply my headcannon, and is not the official interpretation at this point. I agree though, it is hilarious how pathetic the guard is in the show.
Thank you for your comment.

"When chain weapons broke"
I find it difficult to believe even one broke on something as primitive as griffin arms and armor.

If they constantly get slammed with astartes strength through a bunch of griffins those things could take damage especially when the astartes in question are world eaters.

They deployed 20 Space Marines to subdue a nation that has barely invented gunpowder?
Entire Planets that had far more soldiers and far better weaponry have fallen to less then a hundred Marines.
Argel Tal and Khârn could have done it alone.

3551926 Argel Tal and Kharn certainly could have done it alone, but Griffons are like Zerglings or Tyranids. They may be weak, but there's a lot

Most impressive but how many griffons are there attacking the city, because while the Space Marines have a massive quality advantage how many Griffons will it take to simply cover them in corpses.

3552053 Thousands of Griffons have attacked. You can't cover a Space Marine with corpses, and it is extremely hard to take them down through swarming. The Griffons...will learn the hard way.

3552424 how much do you think a musket ball would take out of their armor, a millimeter, half, but eventually especially after repeated strikes to it, it will eventually cave, also if they just discovered gunpowder why do they have muskets already, the first weaponized use of gunpowder in the gun form was cannons

3552462 Actually, the first form of gunpowder weaponry was the hand gun, developed by the Chinese. It launched rocks. As for the armor, a musket ball would probably only scratch the paint...at first. Unless it is to the gorget, which is the weak point of Astartes armor.

3553299 thanks for correcting my mistake than, but than the question falls, do the Griffon's have artillery assets, and if so could they damage the space marines.

always enjoy reading about griffons being slaughtered by humans because they invaded equestria and the fact that said humans are chaos space marines tearing them apart with there bear hands makes it even better
