Hmm... I'm not sure what it says about me that the main things I'm left with after reading this would be curiosity about the spot under Scoots wing and the book that Sweetie Belle read...

I shan't spoil it, I shall just say that I'm taking notes about your reaction .

I was also weighing and balancing whether to add it to Twilight's Library or not. Odd as it might sound, the standard isn't written as 'no foalcon' but 'no sex between an adult and an underage pony'. I decided it was cute enough to get by on the D'Awww clause.

And the Clopfic folder was the only one I could really put it in, despite not being totally an accurate description.

Oh well, back to the totally platonic CMC scene I was trying to write, namely the third rewrite of the next chapter of Just Winging It. Of course, this wasn't the bit giving me problems. but this is still probably a better take on it then the other two...

Huh. The writer was actually NOT going for a foalcon fic and ALSO succeeded.

Very nice execution, my good man!

Interesting story, I wish there was a bit more of a plot line but good writing overall.

I love how you added that she was trying to picture a colt in sweetie belles place, that sir was well played

Yeah, I mostly wrote this as an exercise, like Passiflora's Plight. In both cases, it's stories that can stand on their own, but would detract from the main storyline if I just put them in the stories they're based on. Passiflora's Plight was an exercise to see how well I could do my wall of text exposition dialogue (something I do a lot and therefore need to be able to do well), while this one was an exercise in the exact opposite: describe what's happening, add just enough detail, leave things open to interpretation.

So glad you enjoyed it, that tells me I'm improving and I can use these skills in more balanced-out fics. It's hard to get some growth as a writer while you're writing multi-parters, I've found.

Indeed, there's a reason I didn't add a romance tag. It's still just friends interacting, it's the interaction itself that's walking a tightrope. Like I've said, this fic was supposed to introduce two ideas I plan to use (someday) in one of the sequels (one of many) I'd write to one of my other fics. I won't spell out what the ideas are, but I think one's fairly heavily implied as is, and it seems to work. The other one... I'll flesh it out when I get to the main story.

Exactly. In this universe, they are still too young to understand what sexual attraction or even a sexual act is, but obviously they are developed enough to have some of the instincts related to them. The sexual element is (I hope) more presented as something new and scary, but forced upon them by accident or circumstance. Scootaloo is forcing herself to do it (for reasons that are left implied), while Sweetie Belle has already stumbled on it and knows it should be enjoyable, but she lacks the proper context to put it in, so she doesn't interpret it as anything other than friendly affection. The two are not in love, nor will they be when they wake up the next morning. Put those elements together in a writing exercise and I ended up with this.

Thank you for the feedback, it's nice to know that the advice of 'one art per week' really does have some merit. If I ever get around to the full sequel, I'll explain what's going on and why.

but if you won't tell us what it's for, then how will we know where to get more of the awesome? :derpytongue2:

Seriously, I love how you handled this. At no point did I stop and think that you had crossed, or even approached, any lines that would have been better avoided.

I can't wait to see whatever this is connected to.

This was weirdly sweet

Cute.

WHY DO I FIND THIS CUTE?!?!!?

I feel as though it is wrong... BUT ITS JUST SO CUTE!

I've been trying to find this story for ages! I remembered reading it and loving it, but then stuff got in the way and I forgot what it was called, etc. So glad to finally see it again!

I made myself laugh when I read the title and Hall & Oats Loving Feeling starts playing in my head.
