The Believer

Hi, I'm a High Schooler who's been a female Brony since the end of the first season, even though I didn't know what it had been yet. After searching the internet, I figured out I wasn't alone!

E

My deepest, darkest fear is that I'll forget who I was, that I'll stay like this forever. At first, it was just an act. But now, it feels like a normality, a reflex almost. I don't know what to do... I wasn't always like this, or at least I don't think so. I just wanted to learn... I wanted to be the best I could possibly be.

Sunset Shimmer recounts her life, and figures out what friendship is.

Noice story concept! Gonna put it on read later!

Wow, I am impressed. You receive a like, favorite, and follow. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Stories like this always catch my interest. Sunset Shimmer really needs more love than she already has.

Well written story about best pony? Count me in.

Oh my WOW! Thank you so much!!!

Honestly, I didn't expect this... :pinkiegasp:

Your ideas intrigue me and I shall follow your newsletter.

I didn't quite get the las part, but hey, it's a kind of ok story so you have my like. I'll only like to point out two things:

1- Sunset Shimmer came from the "human" world. That is confirmed in Celestia's explanation about the mirror an Sunset shimmer.

2- Why is her mother High Expectations Asian Father?

3221552

Actually, she didn't come from the human world. She was previously a student of Princess Celestia, then when she felt that she wasn't doing well enough, she fled to the human world.

While trying to find an explanation for her feeling that she had to escape into a completely different world, I opted for the pressure of a family member. I chose the mother to be the hardest on her, and threw in some "Noble-junk" to try and compensate for it.

Hope that answers your questions!

Could use a little editing, but I love this story!
You know something? I kinda think of Sunset Shimmer as the kind of "tortured soul, crying for love and acceptance." You and I think alike here. We should see more of her past. :raritywink:

Not sure, since equestria girls isn't entirely "human" IMO :unsuresweetie:

hmmmm, she signed it "mom." and sunset's mom doesn't sign her letters "mom.":moustache:

Sunset's Mom sound ominous.... I don't like it. (by that I mean you have me hooked.)
I like how you are taking time to build the suspense to sunsets character, the way she thinks and feels about life. I am exited to see why she did what she did.
This story, I must say, is a stroke of pure genius! Good job.

haha thanks :derpytongue2:

hopefully, the next chapters will be more eventful :twilightsheepish:

Hmmm. The mother isn't all there, it seems...

~Skeeter The Lurker

"Never ask questions." Got it.
I'm interested into seeing how Sunset's mom got a change of heart. I hope it's not primarily because of the success. :raritywink:
You know what? I had a feeling that human Sunset would've had to pay rent for a place to stay. Hopefully, the landlord or landlady isn't is as cranky as Mr. Diktovitch from the Spider-Man movies:
"Sorry doesn't pay the rent. And don't try to sneak past me. I have ears like a cat and eyes like a rodent." :rainbowlaugh:
Ooh... I love surprises!

Anyone still working on this? I would love to see more.

Good story! Interesting concept in having her family subscribe to the "tiger mom" philosophy, but the ending makes me still feel some sympathy for said mother. Furthermore, this is pretty well-written. Nice job all around!

Oh, I didn't notice there's more!

Oh, dear... This should be interesting.

ah... what could have been...
