I've never been a fan of noble-bashing.

There's a reason why Celly feels like that towards them. And you will see what she means in a future chapter.
so when will shining armor and rarity meet again?
3904028 it will be a while, though there will be times where they could be in the same place. Just not at the same time.

Going with the "never knew about the brother until the episode" fandom?
3904571 The girls (at least in the show) had knowledge of Shining's existence. They were either never told his occupation or his name. And Rarity (with time and a psychological will to lock bad memories away) had ultimately forgotten him for the most part. The only thing that keeps reminding her of him is her dreams.
Yep lovely chapter. I love airhead Celly, I so wanted to.... Graaah!!! DONT FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR SISTERS BOY TOY. Its a tale as old as time. Girl likes a guy protective older sister gets to know him and Surprise hes prince Charming. Now shes in love and its only because she took the time to get to know him. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HES NOT THE ONLY GOOD STALLION OUT THERE. Then again I can so see Blueblood having cockblocked Celly all these years and due to her airheadedness she hasnt noticed.
Sorry for the rant I do love the characters and the story.
3904049 cant wait to see how that will play out
Do I smell a princess herd forming?
3903925 As someone who's lived in a country where nobles still have some power (albeit mostly ceremonial) , I can get behind all noble-bashing. Unless they are very, very carefully raised, most nobles will act like asshats for the sheer reason that they're brought up to be aggressive about taking what is believed to be offered to them. Or they're just inefficient , if well-meaning (and overpayed) charity workers.
At the end of this chapter...
With that aside:
Oh gods Azure...what are you getting into...

I can imagine. Still, it's just a little weird seeing the princess go "damn nobles, they're all that's wrong with our society! Wouldn't you agree, guy who's in a relationship with the mare who's twice tried to destroy Equestria, and who I'm not blaming because she's my sister? Anyhow: I need to talk to the guy who's lost his unborn child because of an insane and evil hoofball coach. Maybe we'll joke a bit about my nephew, who's had the first fourteen years of his life screwed up by his evil commoner mother."
That, coupled with how pretty much all of Equestria's elite shown so far to be self-indulgent but harmless, creates the kind of dissonance inherent in generalisation. I'm not saying that no noble can be evil, but this story has already shown that it's hardly a requirement.

The latter description sounds pretty accurate, actually. Remember what Rarity was invited to during her Canterlot tour? An art gallery opening, a charity auction, an airship christening, a dinner party...
3905727 But who's to say that they were just those who obtained their wealth through investments, success in business and brokering rather than being born with the wealth? They are all obviously still persuadable when it comes to public opinion.
Prime example: You see how the Canterlot Elite (not necessarily being of noble blood) interact with Rarity, as they still have a spirit of humility. Now look at Diamond Tiara: she has yet even crossed into adulthood and became the very character we loathe because she portrays herself above everyone else around her. She was born with entitlement and as you are born with it, you find that you become a little paranoid when it comes to losing that very wealth that was given to you. So you do a variety of things that ultimately destroy the lives and reputations of a group of people (which in the end can possibly destroy yourself both morally and socially). Now not every born-rich child is like this, but sometimes they can be blinded from the very reality that is the middle class because of all the money that is waved in their face on a daily basis.
Now enter the politician, the ones that Celly has to deal with. The individuals that 'stands for the people' and do what they can to 'defend the public interest'. Those are the ones that Celly often has to deal with on a daily basis. They are the individuals that seek to line their pockets and fill their own bank accounts with as much money. In a capitalist society, these traits are common. In a socialist/communist economy, the population suffers while those in power are often indulgent. Monarchy, you had the serfs<knights<landlords/nobles<royalty. Even those within an egalitarian society, those with a position in power is shown to have more corruption than those without (because they have it, so why not). Now not all politicians are like this, but the resounding majority is often seen with these very traits.
Now imagine a born-noble pony who seeks a position of power. They already have the money to do so. Now they want to make sure that their money stays with them at all times. These are the senators, representative, cabinet members, members of the parliament, etc. that seek to keep a close eye on how their government spends their money and try to adjust it to their favor.
I'm not going to go any further into detail because politics is too long of a process to describe.
Being that Equestria is a place filled with sentient beings, that means there will be individuals who'll think in these very thought patterns.

All valid points. Add in the factor of Cutie Marks and destinies, and you have the potential for some frighteningly effective powermongers.
It's rather the broad-brush she applied that got to me. I'm willing to give her a pass on this, though, since she was frustrated and angry. People tend to be less discerning when speaking in anger.
