It's five o'clock somewhere! And everywhere. All at once. Forever.

The Pale Sea is an incredible place, just southeast of the Equestrian Continent. And there are those who will tell of a great Sea Serpent, seen many years ago, who would roam these waters.
Many disregard these tales as myth. One old mare knows better.

If he's the only sapient in the ocean, what about mommy and daddy, and how did he learn to talk?

PS: I was going to read this earlier, but had to go. Your plaintive blog post reminded me... I wonder if it's just people expecting the "Atlantis Is Boring" trope.

2718606 I'm not sure if it would be explored here, but the idea is that the more, I dunno, "mighty" animals develop speech on their own, just by their status. Magic, you see. The word "marlin" was a pony creation, a name, so he didn't know it.

And thanks for commenting! I feel much less crushed about my story's popularity. :pinkiehappy:

Greetings fellow sea serpent my name is Neo Deaduls I am from the north if you acquire any assistince with these ponies I will be more than happy to help and I shall bring all the furry of the seas with me for I have claws and like a dragon (whom I despise) I can shoot water from my mouth come to the sea and call for me and I shall come till then my friend.

Darn, it would have been neat to see more of this.
