The very concept of this story would turn most people away. What's the point of turning your character into Dante? You might as well just make it the real Dante. It just seems like a terrible self insert being a Gary Stu, but trying to give a legitimate reason as to why he's a Gary Stu and failing miserably.
I haven't read this, I don't plan on reading it, but I won't dislike it. That'd be a dick move, but honestly, you're going to have to rethink this story quite a bit.
Why not just have it where you are the devil hunter, but just started out. You get a job hunting a necromancer or something, but because you are new you get your ass kicked. Thinking you're dead, the necromancer opens a portal to Equestria with plans to obtain the alicorn amulet to increase his already insane powers. You then get up, not wanting him to succeed, and tackle him, causing both of you to fall into the portal. He pushes you off of him, causing you to teleport into a different area than him. You then tell the ponies the necromancer's plans and you join together in order to defeat him, while Princess Celestia and Luna teaches you how to properly take on different kinds of monsters, while Fluttershy teaches you about plants and their medicinal value and basic first aid. Using this newfound knowledge and creating a story that shows you slowly becoming better and better with a climatic battle against the necromancer in the end.
Original? No, not really, but it'd still a better concept than you turning into Dante.

Anyway, this isn't going to be a "Gary Stu". I won't say too much, but trust me, things aren't going to go well. And him not originally being Dante is going to play a huge role later on. Things aren't going to show up for quite a few chapters, but there is a plan for this story, that aren't apparent now.

2631080 Actually I just thought that up on the spot while thinking of Van Helsing starring Hugh Jackman (fuckin love that movie), but I digress, the things I said is most likely why so many people are down voting, probably without even reading. The concept is, in their eyes, just terrible. There is no good reason for your character plot wise to be Dante. People just find that to be stupid. If this was on fanfiction.net then it might fly, but not here buddy. Very few people are going to be interested, but the majority will hate the hell out of this.
I won't hate it because I haven't read it, again that's a douche bag thing to do, but most people are going to hate.
But I gotta give credit to where credit is due, the fact that you are sticking to your guns and pushing against all the hate is pretty cool. Most people would quit by now, takes a lot of courage to continue writing in the face of adversity, so if nothing else you got my respect.

Quick note...just a somewhat major flaw in this. The Dark Knight's sword is in fact Yamato. You should rather rename The Dark Knight to Nelo Angelo. That is his actual demon name if you wish to keep him after I say my next point out. Nelo Angelo is in fact Vergil, so it would be practically impossible for Dante to carry Nelo's sword. More rather put something like Vandetta, Alastor(that would be stylish), Sparda(the sword), or perhaps merciless. Maybe even a weapon from DMC 4 like Lucifer or the talking swords, Agni and Rudra. Anyways, I had to point out that flaw.
