The hour is late (or early, depending on one's perspective), and I am very tired yet, at once, not so tired.
I just need to share with you all one thing before I go to bed:
(Oh, also this thing)

That's right - relatively soon now, Pirene will be coming to an end (for now). I know, I'm as sad to see it go as you are, but it's been an incredible ride the whole way.
You might have noticed that I include meaningful quotes at the beginning of each chapter, and the epilogue will be no exception. Often it's one of my friends who selects it, unless I already had one in mind.
This time, I thought I'd open it up to the crowd.
I haven't touched 24, the epilogue, since wrapping up 23. I've been reluctant to, for a variety of reasons. Finishing 23 was mentally and emotionally exhausting, and now I'm confronting the daunting task of wrapping up a monumental 350k novel in a satisfactory manner. I have to touch on virtually every character and, not merely close the remaining few personal storylines that haven't been resolved, but also prognosticate into the future.
Finished the first draft of 23 last night and shipped it off to my editor. First round of edits should be done soon. Hope you're all excited.
Today's latest fanart features Wire (also known by her slave pony name, Live Wire) courtesy of Stormy_Weather/NoisyPegasus. It's done in Show Canon vector.
A lovely impressionist image of Lyra kicking up her battle magic by hazeyhooves!
I have to level with you all – I have no idea where I got the idea of Lyra fighting with simulacra. It just popped in, and it was so unique and personal that it helped define her character. I've never looked back since!
So I've pretty much figured out what's going to happen in the final chapters. Yup, that's right – a two-chapter long climax followed by an epilogue which may run 1-2 chapters. I've developed a good feel for these things over the course of writing this giant book of a fan fiction and I'm pretty sure that's what we've got left.

So how about that Season 4 finale, huh?
Hoo, boy, this one is a doozy.
I won't lie: I did like it, for the most part.
I got a sort of informal interview from someone who wanted writing advice. Here, let me post it up for you all to see, since it relates to Pirene and Them and stuff.
I'm not naming the interviewer, unless he'd like to out himself.
In regards to Them
I've recently acquired a volunteer talent to narrate Through the Well of Pirene, and I'm looking for someone who has the time and willingness to do the sound editing for final broadcast.
We want to clean up the raw and perhaps add some ambiance that would help emphasize the narrative.
(And yes, we have a chapter update coming tomorrow!)
Gods know I'd love to have one done, but I fear the readers so rarely go for the long ones.
I wonder, is there anyone among you who either is a reader, is interested in becoming one, or knows someone who is and would be willing to do a reading?
I'd love to have a female reader, given that the three protagonists are themselves female, but beggars and choosers and all.
...is coming next week!
Oh, hey, look! We're on time for a biweekly Friday update.
Really, you guys probably needed two weeks to recover from Chapter 16.
Apple Bloom. What are you doing.
Stahp.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
As my present to you all, this next Pirene update will come early this year. In honor of its mythological roots, I hereby declare that on December 25th, the Birthday of Mithras and the victory of the Unconquered Sun over the winter, Chapter 15 will be posted.
See you then!
Have a look, its own page right here!
I've always wanted to have my own, squee!
I encourage folks to add on to it. I know there's tons more stuff that the original creator hasn't thought of.
I know my editor has gone in and added a few things which are coming up in unpublished chapters. Take those spoiler warnings seriously.
Another feature, very nice to have. I dunno much about Canterlot's Finest circulation as compared to EQD, but still, more promotion is good!
Speaking of, I've been wondering if I should (or even could) do something to encourage fanart...
I got an interview with the End to End podcast. Originally over Them, it also includes Through the Well of Pirene.
I think I need to work on my voice work again; I'm starting to sound a little funny. Then again, the air in North Carolina doesn't always agree with me.
Through the Well of Pirene is approved!
Clap with Twilight, clap with her!
