Pirene Chapter 24 · 3:14am Jul 2nd, 2014

I haven't touched 24, the epilogue, since wrapping up 23. I've been reluctant to, for a variety of reasons. Finishing 23 was mentally and emotionally exhausting, and now I'm confronting the daunting task of wrapping up a monumental 350k novel in a satisfactory manner. I have to touch on virtually every character and, not merely close the remaining few personal storylines that haven't been resolved, but also prognosticate into the future.

Perhaps the greatest reason, though, is that it's hard to let go of something I've spent nearly a year and a half focused on. It means putting an end to one thing and beginning anew on another. It's a horizon - rather like the title of Chapter 23, the Immanent Horizon, the true barrier between one age and the next.

Still no telling when I'll have it out. Metalillusionismagic or however you spell it was very helpful in edits, but Morning Angles still needs to have a look at it for the more subjective parts of Pirene. I might not have picked a worse time, too, because he's been very busy.

EDIT: Or I could write 8000 words for the Epilogue in the space of 6 hours. That's good, too.
And Morning Angles should start the editing process soon!

Done and awaiting final edits.

Take your time. It will come together on its own.

:coolphoto: Good thing Fimfiction remembers logins for months at a time. Can you imagine trying to type that name in daily?
It's good to have a second or third opinion for the editing process. Bringing in more viewpoints means bringing more to the table! (Such as actually useful technical knowledge about story mechanics. :twilightblush:)

Morning Angles does have good technical knowledge, but I can find that anywhere. He's more valuable to me for his advice and feel for the story and characters.

You have my sympathies. Ending a story of this length, after being so invested in it for so long, can be very difficult. Almost traumatic, really. Not to mention the pressure involved in trying to make sure you have a good ending... :twilightoops:

In any case, I've really enjoyed the ride so far. I'm confident that you'll nail the ending.

You have not let me down with the story so far, so I trust you will do good on the last part when you eventually get to it.

If it takes you another half a year to finish it up, that's fine by me. I would rather you take as long as you need, instead of trying to rush something out just to get it to the fans faster.

Oh, and I have never written anything as long as you have, so unlike Hoppy's comment ( 2251127) , I cannot really give any advice in that direction. :twilightblush: But, I imagine he is correct.

I'd imagine Hoopy here knows exactly what it's like, given Project: Sunflower's epic length.

Or, hey, maybe I could write eight thousand words in six hours. :pinkiehappy:
The power was in me all along!

Also, Angles says he can hopefully start editing tonight or tomorrow~

Well, there was supposed to be a Youtube link here, but for some reason its not working and only showing the link so I took it out.

Topaz secretly plots to steal, or at least borrow, that power.

A horizon, hm? I do hope that doesn't mean it's the last thing you'll write on here!
