Graveyards.

They are where the living pass on into the afterlife. Where the dead rest and find peace that will last them for all of eternity, and their living loved ones come to pay respect to them. But for Twilight, an Alicorn who has laid numerous ponies to rest, and has paid her respects to countless souls in the vastness of her lifespan, the graveyard is a lively place. For her, 'best friends forever' isn't just a saying, and the bonds of a true friendship don't end when life does...

Rarity keeps a journal filled with the personal reflections of her life. In it, she writes on everything from how last night's date went to her most recent business ventures. It's more than her day to day diary though, it's who she is. This little black notebook is also where Rarity keeps her deepest fears written down. Under heavy stress for a current order she mistakenly leaves it out in the open. Twilight Sparkle, being unaware of the nature of this book and being unable to resist an open book, reads the first few paragraphs, giving her a glimpse into a side of Rarity she never knew was there.

Poets Corner, the proprietor of the popular hangout Corner Books and unofficial poet laureate of Ponyville, has died of natural causes. His wife disappears, unwilling to bear the burden of his death and what it means. With the town in disarray over the recent flooding, very few ponies even bother to attend. Twilight and Rarity, however, are there, and Rarity soon finds that she cannot shake her friend's last admonition.

As a filly, Rainbow Dash achieved two wonderful accomplishments. Earning her cutie mark and inadvertently causing a Sonic Rainboom. However, these achievements mean nothing to her when she comes to realize that Fluttershy is missing. Without her to share these gifts with, they feel meaningless to her. In all, she misses her best friend and is worried, wondering what had happened to her.

Twilight Sparkle had made a discovery out of the blue that changes everything. She decides that this information must be shared with all the ponies and research must be done.

The startling revelation is that Pinkamena Diane Pie is absolutely adorable. Something that never once crossed her mind before.

Everypony is her own worst critic, but few take it to the extreme that Derpy does. Still, where friendship and magic abound, a helping hoof is never far away, if only she'll reach out and take it.

I knew this routine. Just like last week and several times before. Poor Sweetie Belle was being picked on by her classmates. They tease her for not having a cutie mark; they tease her for... well, being Sweetie Belle. Maybe they don’t like the fact that she’s comfortable being herself? Foals can be so cruel sometimes. Poor dear, can't they just leave her alone? She’s such a sweetheart after all.

Twilight Sparkle has faced many challenges and tests. Ursa Majors, Chaos Gods, Demons, Sirens, the works. But now, she faces her greatest challenge yet.

She's going to learn how to drive a manual transmission.

Surely Twilight Sparkle, prized student of Celestia, Princess of Friendship, bookworm extraordinaire, and multiple-time saviour of Equestria, can learn how to drive a car, right?

...right?

(Just a silly little idea I had one day. This is my first story on here, so please excuse any grammatical errors. This story takes place after Rainbow Rocks, and contains some mild spoilers in regards)

Equestria has been watched over by Princess Celestia for over one thousand years. As alicorns, they have a very long lifespan, however, even though their appearance doesn't show it, they do become weaker with time. Twilight, is given one final lesson that in time, one must learn to say goodbye.
