Thanks to EQD I was able to fix the lousy mechanics of my writing, remove some of the telling and rework the bad paragraphs. (Or so I believe.) I'm still not sure if I want to resubmit this thing or not. Anyway, I added some paragraphs, removed others, changed the dialog a little, but the over all story hasn't changed.
