Octavia and Vinyl gets stranded on a large, tropical island in the middle of Prancific Ocean. What awaits them in the forest?
The non-fanfic version are in the links below; its a few thousand words longer, edited but still the same as this fic with the plot and characters. I hope you enjoy reading it.
The Electric Fireflies are one of the most popular techno bands in Equestria. Perhaps the most popular. The voice of an entire generation of music. There isn't anything Vinyl wouldn't do to get an autographed vinyl record of their latest album. And lo and behold, just what is the club offering as first prize for their 'dance till you drop' dancing competition? That's right, an autographed vinyl record.
Everything seemed great; Vinyl was one of the best groovers in the city, until she received the news that she would be providing the music for said event, and as such could not compete. With nowhere else to turn, Vinyl turned to her dear friend Octavia to win the record.
Now if only Octavia knew any dance move that wasn't 'the robot.'
Octavia is broken, who will help her, and what will happen later on?

Octavia and Vinyl know their hardships, though they have yet to live peacefully. Through all of this, they will come to terms with themselves, learning their true feelings. **This is my first fanfiction. The updates will be hampered by musical activities, hockey, and school, so I apologize in advance, though everyone has priorities. The style used is meant to be similar to that of Dennisthemenace's My Roommate is a Vampire, and I would greatly appreciate HELPFUL criticism (please no hate). I would simply like to know how you feel I can improve my preferred style, for use int the future. So please, leave my some helpful criticism in the comments or message me. Anything I suppose. Enjoy!**
**On hold until more time is available for work. I WILL continue this. I also need to refine my writing style and such. Thanks for understanding.**
Unbeknownst to all ponies, Octavia also works as an assassin, aside from her cello-playing. When she is assigned the job of assassinating the well-known DJ Vinyl Scratch, she is quick to hunt her down, lest she not complete the job and be severely punished.
However, Octavia finds that her heart actually begins to open up for the mare, and she befriends—something she hasn't done in a while—Vinyl pretty quickly.
Now she is faced with the difficult choice of completing her job of assassinating Vinyl and live, or succumbing to her soft spot for the pony and have both of them die.

I have noticed that a couple people have said this story is like Assassin's Creed. I have never played the game. I have never seen someone else play the game. I have never even read a description on the game. I have no idea what that game is about, so any similarities between this story and Assassin's Creed are only a coincidence.
She walked across the street with a cello case and a purple backpack with a black treble clef on her back. She was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
Octavia Melody is dead, having taken her own life for reasons unknown. Vinyl Scratch is utterly crushed, and her life has been put on hold while she mourns. She lives her life in a haze, with Octavia having become nothing more than a hallucination that only she can see and speak with. It's been a month, and Vinyl hasn't even read Octavia's suicide note.
Yet, when she does, strange wording begins to make Vinyl think, is Octavia's suicide really a suicide, or something more entirely? This hurtles the mare onto a quest with which nothing is as simple as it seems, and no price is too high to discover the truth.
What happened to Octavia Melody?
