Twilight Sparkle is a princess. She has an important role as a leader of Equestria, which means she has to worry about what everypony thinks of her. So when she overhears a private conversation, she has to come to terms with how she feels about herself, love, and a certain somepony, all while weighing her public image against her personal desires.

Things have been going well for Sunset Shimmer since the Friendship Games. She's on good terms with the students at Canterlot High School, she has a close circle of friends she can depend on, and most of all, she now has a new friend and research partner in the form of the human world's Twilight Sparkle. With a brand new avenue in magical research now open to her, not even the prospect of her upcoming birthday can get in the way of her hope for the future.

Then her latest experiment blew up in her face.

Reduced to a mare in a child's body, Sunset has to find a way to reverse what she's done and return to what qualifies as normal in this world. But in a world where magic was a fairy tale until a few months ago, things are going to be more than a little difficult on that front. And as she struggles to maintain her adult mind against the immaturity of her current form, her friends are faced with the possibility that they may lose their friend forever.

Sunset Shimmer's world is flipped upside down by a spell that hurls her centuries downstream into a time unlike her own. Alone in the new age, Shimmer must find her purpose among a technologically advanced Equestria all the while trying to make sense of a recent discovery: Twilight Sparkle, ruler of Equestria.

When a small filly calling herself Sonata Dusk emerged from the mysterious portal within the castle, Princess Luna expected many things. What she didn't expect was for the filly to claim that she was actually a siren, banished from Equestria a thousand years ago. Despite her initial surprise, Luna makes an unexpected decision, and takes the filly under her wing.

Several years later, with the impending return of an ancient evil, Luna sends Sonata off to the humble little town of Ponyville, in the hopes that she will be able to learn the true value of the magic of friendship.

But Sonata isn't quite keen on interacting with other ponies. After all, ponies would never accept a singing sea monster as a true friend... right?

Twilight Sparkle's simile and metaphor-filled quest for some tea

Rated T for Twililicious and questionable use of literary devices.

Twilight saw a strange stallion that came into Ponyville. One that came every week and nopony seemed to talk with. She made it her job to greet this strange stallion, but things didn't work how she thought they would. When he comes to the village with a nearly-dead stallion from the Everfree, he just raises more questions. Questions that seem to have a link to Celestia. Worse, this stallion has a whole host of issues caused by a past nopony that knows about wants to talk about. What happened to him, and what issues does he carry?

Then Shining Armor stumbles ass over teakettle into this stallion's largest problem. Now he has to try and fix what he caused while avoiding anypony knowing that it's there, for his sake and the sake of the stallion.

Oh, yeah, then Cadance shows up. Things get pretty interesting.
