Peach Cream, a unicorn with an annoying little unicorn sister named Almond Velvet, is visiting Vastopia to meet her long-time-no-see friend, Sponge Spice. However, unexpectedly, something strange happens that cannot be explained, and Spice vaporizes into the air, to an unknown place. Peach is about to set off to find her, but Princess Twilight has a task for her first...

A villain named Electric Aspect comes to Ponyville to earn the ponies as servants, quite similar to the evil that King Sombra had done to the Crystal Empire. Electric Aspect, King Sombra's pegasus brother, must be defeated. But Princess Celestia and the Elements of Harmony have been imprisoned in a different dimension by Aspect's doing, and it's up to the Cutie Mark Crusaders to stop him. The question is: How?
