Well I am going through bad writer's block so I wrote this story to get my creative juices going again. It's a story about Ramon Scribbles who is a successful unicorn novelist but is now going through writer's block. So he reflects on his past works to try to find that spark he had.

Little note, this isn't my best work, I only typed it up in less than an hour. But enjoy nonetheless.

This story is a sequel to Useless

Twilight has suffered for so long. I've seen her lose friends, her family, her innocence, and more from the war we had with humanity. Ever since the surrender, she has spent every waking moment trying to earn both her redemption as well as Equestria's for our sins against the humans. Now that she has finally done so, she is ready to rest at last.

I just wish it wasn't her final rest.

History is written by the victors and the Equestrians excel at winning. Far to the south of Equestria in the Badlands, the region that separates the Equestrian frontier and the unknown lands of the long forgotten Humans, lies an ancient citadel of knowledge. Generations of magic, both well versed and obscure, holy and ghastly. Its reinforced walls still stand though the tomes and coveted secrets were purged after years of warfare, degradation and abandonment. Despite the armies, bands and packs who tried to finish what the Equestrians started none were able to breach the gates of the Lost Archive. None aside from the few faithful to the old ruler and Lord Hierophant have ever entered. His reign was cut short because of the same people who gave it to him and his followers, though misguided and few in number, would see fit to restoring his former glory even if it's more myth then legend.

Coming straight out of FTL, Captain Amelia Finegold barely has time to blink as her ship, Cobalt Blue, crashes into an unknown vessel in deep-space. Struggling to get ahold of an unexpected situation, things take a turn for the bizarre when she finds out the other ship isn't driven by humans. Or even occupied by humans at all.

One moment, Twilight is asleep. The next, lights and alarms blare as she comes to grips with an unexpected emergency. Problems crop up one after the other. Irreparable damage, wounded ponies, and a new alien species?!

Set in an alternate universe where Equestria became a space-faring empire.

The ponies try to make it to Earth to save all humans from themselves. However when they arrive, they're too late. :(

Ripped from home with no explanation to a place that is both incredibly strange and eerily familiar. What world he walks on, what these creatures are, why he's here. There are many things Rajrishi does not understand about Equestria. He hopes to fix that.

But mostly he just wants to go home.

There is a fear that hides in the future. A fear that consumes the world. Alone at night, when you look at the stars, you might feel it. In the dark places between the stars you might just see it.

There is another fear. This one lives in our heads. That we'll never be good enough to get off this rock. Or, will we dwindle in our vices until the sun runs dry. Will greed rob us of the fuel to lift us into the stars? Will sloth rob us drive to kick off into the unknown? Will wrath strip us off anything worth striving for?

Equestria falls in a fight it never could have won. But as the hands of the clock wind back to give them one more shot at victory, it soon becomes clear that they won't be alone for round two.

Tied by gravity to a species much unlike their own, they must somehow unite and learn to overcome their own natures. If not, there may be very little left when the true fight actually begins.

A fascinating and tense story true to the roots of science fiction. This is far more than just a first contact story.
