For the first time in a thousand years, the old magic has returned to Equestria.

The Elements of Harmony have been torn asunder by the careless Equestria they found themselves in just one month ago. Twilight Sparkle fled into the ocean, pleading for her friends not to follow her after only barely stopping the destructive rampage caused by The Other. Rainbow Dash and Applejack, with nothing but their knowledge of Twilight's nature and a crew of seasoned adventurers, leave Altalusia hoping to find their lost friend and bring her back. Meanwhile, Countess Rarity finds herself trapped among the machinations of Duke Titus, but perhaps she can yet use her new position for good.

But the new Equestria remains as treacherous as ever for six mares lost in time, and the sunken ruins of their old home still holds fresh and terrifying dangers. Mysteries a thousand years old demand solving, and even those born on the floating islands of the new Equestria may find themselves torn between two paths.

Changelings and ponies had always been natural enemies of each other, especially with the crystal ponies when they were around. Why wouldn't they be? Changelings were like parasites, feeding off the love that ponies gave off and driving them to illness.

However, Changelings had begun to decline. What started out with as seven hives have diminished down into three, all of which had gone into hiding so well that most ponies didn't know what changelings even were. Even Celestia had not seen one for quite a while, a long feat for an immortal pony.

Until she found a nymph. A new Changeling Queen.

Unable to find it within herself to abandon the changeling, Celestia ends up taking the nymph back to Canterlot under guise as Twilight Sparkle. The plan was simple; find the hive that Twilight belonged to and return her back to be raised with her race.

Of course, despite everything she learned through her long life, she had forgotten that things were never that simple.

For starters, she did not anticipate herself to grow fond of Twilight as time began to pass, or to beam in happiness when Twilight began to refer to her as mom.

After Discord spread chaos and Sombra spread fear across the land, the land become hard to live on. It hurt Nightmare Moon heart, seeing ponies hard daily struggle. Nightmare Moon is not evil at all. All she wants is so ponies can live strong and happy. If there's the need to play an evil role, she would gladly do it. for her children of the night, any price she would pay. Therefore the Element of Harmony aren't needed.

When Princess Celestia finds a young nymph in a basket floating down the river, she decides to take him in as her son. As the years go by, She decides that her beloved son and her star student needs to learn an essential part of life. Making friends.

So she sends them to Ponyville, in hopes that they learn about the importance of friendship.

Ever since the Summer Sun Celebration, Twilight has been settling in to life in a small town away from Canterlot. And while she loves her new friends, she can't help but admit that it's a much bigger change than she'd initially thought.

But things like homesickness, getting lost, and dealing with the way everyone seems to stare at you and whisper are all just part of moving somewhere new.

Twilight just needs to adjust.

Minuette has an imaginary friend. At least, that's what everypony else thinks.

When ten-year-old magic student Minuette comes into possession of an antique vanity mirror, she is surprised to discover there is a creature living inside: A bug pony with big fangs and glowing eyes. Most little foals would probably be scared of such a creature, but not Minuette. Armed with a cheerful smile, she decides to befriend the bug in her mirror and uncover the mystery behind his bewildering predicament.

It's just such a shame that nopony else can see him.

After the Hive reforms, Thorax finds himself the sudden leader of the changelings. And as it turns out, being the leader means comforting a small nymph who's all alone. But as Thorax looks after the little one, he finds himself caring about the young nymph more than he ever could have thought. Thorax soon found that he's created his own family. It may not be the one he dreamed about as a nymph, but he loves his family. Thorax would do anything for his little nymph, Apex. And as young Apex continues to touch the heart of the alpha changeling, it turns out that Thorax isn't the only one who cares about the little one.

Author's note: The character Apex in this story is in no way connected to the Apex from NavelColt's stories. This Apex is my own original character viewed as an alternate version of Apex with a completely different personality. Changeling Drone 626 had considered a lot of things after being banished from the Hive. Most of these things consisted of cursing whatever deity above decided to ruin his life by making him the way he was, wondering if there was any point in moving forward, and questioning his own sanity in a world without the Hive Mind to lean on for comfort.

What he did not consider was the possibility of ever being accepted by the ponies, much less becoming a part of the nation’s only self-defense system!

With a past he'd rather leave behind, and a future filled with only more uncertainty then before 626 could only wonder one thing...

Why did he ever think it was a good idea to go into that silly little pony town, regardless if it was a favor for Zecora or not!

Welcome one and all to my own take of the series! Yes yes I know its cliched and done a thousand times, but what can I say? I couldn't get the idea out of my head once it was in there, and I figured it was my turn to give this whole 'Seventh Element OC' idea a shot.

So read on dear friends and readers, as we journey through the story we all know and love with a new twist! Let's see how long a defective changeling can survive being a part of the Elements of Harmony, and considering its me writing this you know some good old DWC chaos is around to help in the 'fun.'
