Mare Do Well earned her place in the history books of Ponyville as one of its greatest protectors alongside the likes of Supermare and Batmare.
But Mare Do Well hung up her cape after teaching a lesson to one of the most egotistical mares in Ponyville.

So who is it on moonlit nights, that hops from rooftop to rooftop, who leaves crooks and con-stallions outside the doors of the watch-house, and who always arrives just in time?

Mare Do Well may have taught Rainbow Dash one unforgettable lesson, maybe Mare Do Better will teach her another.

In an ongoing war against the ever-persisting changeling threat, Twilight Sparkle grows ever desperate to rid herself, her closest friends, and Equestria of Chrysalis and her army for good. Confiding in her friend Rainbow Dash that she feels as though all of their efforts have been for naught, begins to consider more drastic measures.

Rainbow, out of concern, and love her longtime friend, persuades her out of it, but after a day of fun between the two ends in tragedy, and after receiving a threatening visit from Chrysalis herself in the dead of night, Twilight finds herself with seemingly no other options but to open herself up to dark magic.

From there, things only get worse.

When King Sombra returned for the second time, Princess Cadence wound up discovering the true origins of her birth, throwing her whole world out of whack and causing her to question her own identity. In order to solve this dilemma, she journeys to Canterlot to visit the ponies she's known her whole life as "Mom and Dad" in order to hear the truth from their mouths.

During her usual evening stroll through the grassy plains surrounding Ponyville, Twilight comes across a crying mare whom she never expected to see there... Or crying, for that matter.

It is said you don't really know a pony unless you step into their hooves. So that's what Twilight decides to do. Well, not literally of course...

...but the two do get awfully close to one another.

The battle is over. 

Chrysalis and her co-conspirators have lost, against all odds, defeated once again by the power of friendship (and overwhelming numbers). For their crimes they find themselves imprisoned in stone, petrified and locked away, and it seems as though their punishment will last forever.

But the new Princess of Equestria isn’t finished with them just yet.

Unaware of how his image and name have been used, the real Grogar returns to his lair after a long vacation. Naturally, he's not exactly pleased to find out what's been happening while he was gone.

King Sombra is brought back by what seems to be the imposing father of monsters - Grogar. He is offered an alliance with the 'biggest bads' of Equastria. This time though, the King of Monsters would play his cards just like a true dark lord would...With vicious tactics and spineless caution.

AU: Sombra plays a much bigger role in the finale then what was shown. Slightly OOC, potential mild gore.

Sombra was a mage in the service of the Crystal Empire and was brought before the leading council after nearly killing one of the city guards. The court quickly becomes a shouting match, as Sombra accuses the council of not doing enough for the Empire.

Sombra has plans to restore the Crystal Empire to its former glory.

No matter what.
