Chapter four delayed

Chapter four will be delayed due to a family vacation to Palo Duro Canyon this weekend. I'll be working on it tonight, but it is highly unlikely that I'll finish before leaving, especially since I still haven't finished going back over the previous two chapters. (I'm sorry! Pleasedon'tbemad! ) I doubt I'll have time during the trip to continue writing while I'm there.

So, that's the bad news out of the way, how about something more upbeat?

I've always got a bunch of story ideas percolating in my head, but there are two currently that have more substance than the others. The first is one that I'd like to put in the Chess Game of the Gods universe originally created by Rust (The Ballad of Echo the Diamond Dog) and expanded by many others. The first person narrator would be a human turned into a reindeer, with the reindeer society inspired by the one in Under the Northern Lights by sieurin. (With changes necessary to fit into the Chessverse and my own story.) My current working title is "Into the North".

The other prospective story is something I intend to collaborate on with a good friend of mine IRL (who I credited as Geren Covant in the prologue, because he was the only one who I actually got to be a pre-reader for it, and his feedback led to a complete overhaul of the prologue). The story would be a retelling of The Princess Bride, beginning as basically a ponified version of the original and slowly diverging into something all its own. Most of our work so far has been spitballing character designs:

And so on.
