Yet another story idea that is taking a back seat to my current main focuses · 4:05am Mar 15th, 2013
If you don't know what SCP Containment Breach is, you must not follow indie horror games very well. If you're interested in my work, then look up playthroughs of that game from either Sinuyan or Markiplier, my highest recommendations. Warning, it's really REALLY creepy.
If you DO know what the SCP Foundation is, well, I was doing a bit of research on SCPs; 978 (the camera that shows what you desire most) intrigued me, and I was following every trail to learn as much as possible. Eventually, I came upon SCP-904. It's a line of text that can destroy the mind of an author or artist by forcing you to speak in rhyme. Naturally, the first thought that popped into my head upon reading about this was Zecora. Then I thought, what if Zecora worked for a ponified SCP Foundation and read SCP-904, causing her to be affected by the forced rhyming, before the foundation allowed her to retire, and she chose to settle in the Everfree Forest because it was considerably less creepy/dangerous than an SCP site, and everypony in Ponyville is afraid of her because maybe something SCP-related happened in the village.
I dismissed it as a passive thought, knowing I was busy enough with 12 other projects planned, and continued to read. As I went through, my mind kept thinking about different ways all the SCPs could combine with each other, and how Equestrians would react & contain in case of a breach. My mind kept developing different plots and storylines for each SCP for a fictional story in this vein, and eventually, I decided to eventually do it. And some could work out REALLY well: like, 999 would be Pinkie Pie's PFF, Twilight could study the crap out of 447 and 085 (Cassy), Rainbow Dash could read 423's spin on Daring Do (for that, I'd probably do a Frederick Nathan Drake thing), and I even have a backstory planned for Time Turner AKA Doctor Whooves to have worked at the foundation as well, because of all the time-travel-related SCPs.
I will file away plans for the story until after reading others by other people (for inspiration & SCP-obsession-fueled curiosity). It'll focus on Zecora & her life as an SCP Agent before coming to Ponyville. I'll begin to work on it after finishing any of the ones I'm working on currently: due to the roundabout nature of how I assign my own effort, several of the other stories will be nearing completion by then anyways, so don't worry about that, people who aren't interested.
However, if you are interested, I have some good news: I can and WILL accept OCs for the story, as the SCP Wiki only gives so much information out due to RAISA, and I need more characters if it is to work. I will also take SCP requests from anyone. I expect the story to be a big undertaking. Of course, if somebody else did a similar idea, I'll scrap mine because they're most likely better than me at it. But if nobody else did it (or the only people to do it are amateur grimdark creepypasta writers), then I will definitely do it. Maybe even make a Tumblr blog for the story, and compose a musical score with Fruityloops and Cakewalk, who knows?
I got my external hard drive today, too, so I will get on overhauling my writing. I also found a sleep schedule that works: my sleep cycles are at periods of two hours, so I can function throughout the day by only sleeping 6 hours, 4 hours, or even 2 hours, so I can write well into the night after all distractions are gone. Please bear with me, I know I can do this. And if not for the next 3 months [I'm in high school (Junior, next year a Senior) until mid-June], then I'll have three months of summer to do absolutely nothing (aside from the planned Disney World and Rock On The Range trips) except for write, start reading Homestuck/part of the gigabyte of classic literature downloaded on my iphone/some of the 500+ stories in my Read Later list for inspiration for writing, write, maybe watch Doctor Who/Firefly/Sherlock/Angel Beats/Gurren Lagann for inspiration for writing, and WRITE. I've got a lot to do, but since I don't have/need a job, I'll have plenty of time to do it (until college...) all, and I promise, writing these fics is at the tippy-top of the list of priorities.
If I'm rambling a bit, it's nearly 1:00 am. I want to go to bed as soon as I post this tonight because I have a concert symphonic band festival to play at tomorrow. I hope I communicated what I wanted to now, and if not, well, I'll rectify it in the comments. Good night!
