Kirby, his allies, and a villain are accidentally teleported to Equestria. Will the Star Allies find a way home? Will they prevent Hyness from ruling over Equestria?
In the middle of an adventure to save Pop Star, Kirby and his new friends travel to the Divine Terminus to prevent the Jamba Heart from being reconstructed by Hyness and his generals. However, one of Kirby's allies makes a mistake, and suddenly, Kirby, his other two friends, and the evil Hyness find themselves in an unknown world. Equestria is suddenly threatened by Hyness, and the Star Allies must stop him. After that, lunch and a nap!
By the way, this is based on a fanfiction that I wrote and so will involve an original character or two. Some well-known characters will be mentioned but otherwise never appear. I intend to post the aforementioned fanfiction later, so be on the lookout!
This story begins on March 16, 2018, the day that Kirby Star Allies came out, and also after the season 8 premiere of MLP:FiM. I know the premiere was later, on March 24, but remember that it took place directly after the events of My Little Pony: The Movie, which was in November.

Splash, zap, BOOM! That's the sound of me, pink puffball Kirby, and two of his other friends giving Zan Partizanne a taste of her own medicine, using water to electrocute her using her own electric drums.
"Excellent strategy, Splash Sword Kirby!" The green-colored yo-yo robot, GIM, gave Kirby a thumbs-up. "The water and lightning mixture worked both ways, as with Francisca's water gun."
Rocky, a yellow rock with eyes, stomped its feet, signalling that we needed to finish Zan.
"I concur," GIM replied. "I recommend using the Ring of Fire Trap maneuver!"
I giggled, "Oh, this is going to be so much fun!"
I held my disembodied hands up in the air and formed a psychic ball, which Rocky jumped into while transforming into a Kirby statue. GIM spun his fiery yo-yo around Zan Partizanne while she was down, preventing her escape with its fiery trail. I moved Rocky over Zan before slamming him down on her, seemingly ending the threat.
We stood triumphant, but Zan weakly called out to someone. "Help me... Hyness..."
A robed figure in front of a dark purple heart turned and saw what we had done. I guessed he was Hyness. He proceeded to kick Zan out of the way... somehow. I mean, he was floating, for NOVA's sake! Also, that was just plain rude, even for a villain. Anyway, he went on and on about something, but I could only hear bits and pieces, due to him talking SUPER fast. I did manage to hear the words "Dark Lord," though, so I guessed he was planning to rebuild the heart to rescue this Dark Lord guy.
"...Whatever. I'm going to stop this before it even starts." I formed a magical aura around my hands while giggling to myself. "Oh, I've always dreamed of saying this! Azarath Mentrion Zinthos!" I released a huge pulse of energy that surrounded Hyness, making him disappear. I turned around, expecting Kirby and the others to be amazed, but I didn't see them anywhere. You wouldn't have been able to see my eyes under my hood, but I was like, "...Uh oh."
It was at that moment that Zan decided to wake up. She looked around, then she glared at me. "What have you done to Hyness?"
I sheepishly said, "I teleported him to a place where he couldn't rebuild the Jamba Heart, where a group of heroes besides Kirby would bring him down. My plan was for Kirby and his other allies to destroy the Heart for good, but I guess I got a little too excited and warped them there too."
By the way, Robobot veterans may know me as Esper, but I'm not Esper. Please, call me... NESP.
When I opened my big blue eyes after that bright flash ended, I found myself somewhere that looked really friendly from the fluffy clouds and blue sky. Then I looked down. I wasn't on the ground, which meant I was most likely falling through the air. Uh oh! I cried out in fear as I flew faster and faster towards the ground.
Then I heard someone. "I've got you!" a female voice said. "...or at least your hat. Sorry!"
As I got closer to the ground, I heard, "Twitchy tail!" Wait, does that mean--THUD
"Hey, it looks just like a round me!"
"It looks co cute! I hope it didn't get hurt."
"Don't get close! It might be dangerous."
"For once, egghead makes a good point."
"Don't go callin' Twilight names like that, Rainbow."
"Applejack's right, darling. That's just rude."
"What is it?"
Was I hearing right? I slowly opened my tired eyes, and I saw... colorful horses. I'd better not be seeing things. Pummeler would freak out if he saw the Mane 6 without entering a TV set with Rotom's help! "Hi!" I said, trying to act like I'd never seen them before. My comment caused the ponies to jump back.
"Uh, hi," the purple Pegasus/unicorn hybrid (or alicorn), Twilight, said. "What's your name, little guy?"
"Kirby!" Yeah, I'm the super tough pink puff all my friends talk about.
"Hi, Kirby!" The pink Earth pony jumped forward. "I'm Pinkie Pie! I can't wait to throw a crash-into-Ponyville Party for you! We're gonna dance and play games and eat some cake and--"
The orange pony with a hat, Applejack, put her hoof in Pinkie's mouth. "Whoa there, Pinkie. Maybe we should get to know him a little better first."
"How do you know it's a he?" asked the light blue Pegasus with a rainbow mane, Rainbow Dash.
"Its pink coloring leads me to assume it's a female," said the white unicorn with a lavender mane, Rarity.
"Why don't we ask it?" asked the yellow Pegasus with a pink mane, Fluttershy. The others looked at her.
"Boy!" I replied.
The ponies gasped. "He can understand us!" Twilight said. She stood firm. "That's it. I'm taking this creature to my castle for research and interrogation purposes. Spike, you're coming with me."
Spike, the young purple dragon with green Yoshi-like bumps down his back, replied, "Sure thing, Twilight!"
I'm going to be interrogated by the princess of friendship... I can't wait!
I opened my eyes after that fall, leading to the discovery that I'm underwater. Strange, unless I somehow landed in a stream. ...What's this? I heard something splashing, as if to grab something. I chose to stay still and keep my eyes shut to act like a regular rock... Oh dear. It got me, whatever it is. Regardless, I continued being still...
...Something began lightly brushing my feet. I'm ticklish there. I tried to stay still for as long as I could, but it was too much. I fell out of whatever grabbed me and opened my eyes, and my gaze met the confused gazes of a big brown bear and a fluffy little bunny. I didn't know what to think. We stared at each other for the longest time. If they were hostile, they would have attacked by now.
I looked around and saw a peaceful cottage of wood near a forest. My surroundings looked like the area surrounding the home of a "Hobbit," or so I've heard of. The stream I had landed in flowed under a bridge leading to the cottage. There were animals everywhere: birds, squirrels, butterflies, and even an arachnid.
I took my chances and transformed into a statue of one of my friends, Kirby, surprising the bunny and bear, before returning to my original form and tilting my head in a confused manner, as if to ask if they'd seen him.
Alas, they shook their heads. However, the bear pointed down the path from the cottage. Apparently, that must have been the direction in which I should go for help.
I turned to head in that direction, but stopped. I turned to the bunny and bear and transformed into stone letters that formed my name: Rocky.
The bunny and bear waved goodbye as I set off to find my friends. Perhaps Gim is having any luck...?
Auditory sensors detected loud noise. Loud often equals aggressive. Engaging fight-or-flight response: "Keep away, or I'll force-feed you a REALLY hot dog, yo!"
Subjects jumped back in fear. Subjects have raised single eyebrows in confusion. One asked, "Who in their right mind would eat a dog?"
Evaluation: Subjects have flat teeth, suggesting a vegetarian lifestyle. Subjects are equines: a yellow Earth pony with a large red bow, an orange Pegasus with a purple mane, and a white unicorn with a lavender mane. Engaging proper response: "Let me try this again: Do not attack me, or I'll make your head spin!"
The Earth pony responded, "Why would we hurt you? We're just fillies, and you looked hurt after falling out of the sky and into our clubhouse."
Self-evaluation: Systems functioning at 100% efficiency. Hat at perfect 180-degree rotation from average human caps. Yo-yo still functioning at full capacity and still ablaze. Conclusion: I am 100% well. "Oh, sorry about being all mean with you little ones. My name is GM-2375, but you can call me Gim. Where am I?"
The Pegasus responded, "This is our clubhouse, which is right near Sweet Apple Acres. Where are you from?"
"I come from a planet called Misteen, which isn't too far from Planet Pop Star, where dreams literally come true, yo! I was adventuring with the radical pink puff Kirby who came from Pop Star to put an end to some bad guys' rebuilding of a dark heart when all of a sudden, I was falling through the sky and landed here. Good thing my sweet yo-yo isn't damaged!"
The unicorn responded, "We're glad you're okay. My name is Sweetie Belle, and these are my friends," --Sweetie Belle turned to the Pegasus then to the Earth pony-- "Scootaloo and Apple Bloom. Together, we are..."
The three ponies collectively exclaimed, "...the Cutie Mark Crusaders!"
I shook each of the ponies' hooves with my one hand. "Nice to meet you, Crusaders. Think you can lend a 'bot a hoof? I'm looking for my friends Kirby and a living rock, Rocky. We got separated after that bright light that was caused by the psychic NESP's spell."
After a pause, Apple Bloom said, "We'd love to, but we ain't got a clue who you're talkin' about. Maybe my big sister Applejack could help. She normally runs Sweet Apple Acres, but she's at a picnic with Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity. Just head down that road and you'll run into Ponyville Square!"
"Thanks, Crusaders." I began to leave, then I stopped. "Hey, who wants to see some sick yo-yo tricks?"
...Juh? I found myself in a dark forest. The place did not appear familiar. Suddenly, I was surrounded by a green aura as I was forcefully floated up to the face of a strange creature. It was a black quadruped, with a single horn on its head and Beetley-like wings. The peculiar thing about it was the number of strange holes around its body.
The creature menaced, "Who are you, and where are you from?"
I replied, "My name... is Hyness, and I come from Jambastion. I had traveled to the Divine Terminus to revive the Dark Lord, but a pink thing and its colleagues came and tried to stop me. Zan Par attempted to stop them, but failed. She was beyond useless. As I explained my plans, the blue-robed boy cast a spell, sending me here. I cannot rebuild the Jamba Heart and rescue the Dark Lord from that prison when I'm here! If you're going to stop me from rescuing the Dark Lord, then I'll crush you! Do you understand me?!"
The creature calmly replied, "Of course I understand. You see, I am Queen Chrysalis of the Changelings, and I intend to conquer this land, which is known as Equestria! However, a group of ponies repeatedly stopped my efforts, and the Changelings betrayed me. You don't seem like the loving type, so I suggest a deal: You help me conquer Equestria, and I will find a way to return you to the Divine Terminus. Do you accept?"
I gave it some thought before shaking her... hoof. "I accept, and besides, loving is for the weak! It is of no use whatsoever! Why do you even bring it up?"
The queen's grin became a scowl. "As a Changeling, I feed on love, using it as life energy. However, the Changelings were corrupted by a certain pony, giving love rather than feeding on it, making me furious. Love is to be stolen, not given!"
She couldn't see, but I grinned. "I like the way you think, Queen Chrysalis. Do you have a plan?"
Zan finally calmed down. "You sent Hyness to another world where friendship would stop Hyness, but you got too excited and accidentally sent Kirby and his allies there too? That doesn't help either side of the argument. Any ideas on how to get them back?"
I thought for a moment. "I think we'll need help from an external source. Follow me to the nearest Dream Palace."
We rode Kirby's Warp Star to a small planet housing a white building. Inside it was a staff with a heart at the end. I floated towards it. "Zan, this is the Dream Rod. Using it, I can summon a friend from afar." I grabbed the Dream Rod and held it high. "Please, bring us someone useful!"
The Rod shone bright, and before us stood--or floated, rather--a gray creature with purple eyes, yellow hands, tail, and beak, and a black antenna. It kind of resembled a Porygon-Z. "Hello, my name is Roborygon Mk. Z, but you can call me Roborygon. What do you need?"
I plead, "My greatest apologies, but I accidentally sent Kirby, Rocky, GIM, and Hyness to another world where I meant for just Hyness to be sent so a group of heroes would use friendship to stop him! Can you help the rest of the Star Allies escape, please?"
Roborygon's eyes shrank slightly. "That is indeed a predicament. You said Gim was sent there, right? He's a robot, so I might be able to at least find his location with an electrical impulse. Let me try."
Roborygon's antenna gave off a pinging sound.
"OW! That felt like a Joltik was eating my circuits, yo!"
"I got something! Thank Arceus he wasn't sent to another dimension, where my impulse wouldn't reach. NESP and Zan Partizanne, I must leave so I can locate Gim. Wish me good luck, even though I don't believe in luck!" Roborygon took off, leaving the two of us alone.
"So," I said, "how about a game of charades to pass the time?"
Well, that went by fast. Twilight asked me some questions about where I'm from and how I got here, and I answered as good as I could have answered. I had to use some miming, though, because I can't talk well.
"Okay, so you're saying you're from a place called Dream Land, which is on the planet Pop Star, and you got here after one of your friends said some strange words in an attempt to take down this robed figure named Hyness? And you don't know what happened to your other friends?"
I nodded.
Twilight walked away with Spike and talked to him so quietly that I couldn't hear, then she turned back to me. "Okay, Kirby. We're done for now."
That's it? All Twilight did was ask me some questions? She never just does that! She should be in a severe state of Twilighting! Unless... oh, I see!
I went on my way and gave myself a self-guided tour of Ponyville. My first stop: Sugarcube Corner! It seemed to be really busy, meaning that Pinkie Pie was probably throwing a party. I peeked through the window and saw... "Gim?"
Gim saw me and froze. "It isn't what it looks like, yo! I came by this place, thinking you'd be there, and Pinkie was preparing a crash-into-Ponyville party for you. I told her my dilemma, and she chose to throw a crash-into-Cutie-Mark-Crusaders-Clubhouse party for me."
But I wasn't mad. Instead, I smiled. I was so happy that Pinkie Pie was throwing a party for one of my friends! I went inside and high-fived Gim. "Poyo!" I beamed.
"Thanks, bro-yo! Want to party with me? Pinkie's quite the party planner!"
Pinkie appeared out of nowhere. "I sure am! Thanks for noticing, Gim!"
I was about to accept Gim's offer, but my stomach growled.
Gim replied, "I understand, bro-yo. Another time then."
With a sheepish grin, I left for a bite to eat. While cake sounded really good, I wondered what the apples from Sweet Apple Acres tasted like.
Before I got too far, though, Gim rushed to my side. "I almost forgot! I just came from Sweet Apple Acres, so I can take you there.
I shook my head. I wanted Gim to continue having fun with Pinkie Pie, and besides, I already kind of knew where Sweet Apple Acres was. I'm a pony fide (bona fide) My Little Pony fan, especially of Pinkie, so I know the basic layout of Ponyville and other places.
After getting some exercise, I finally reached the iconic farm where Applejack was working. "Oh, howdy, Kirby! Ah'm guessin' you're here for a bite to eat?"
My stomach growled again, louder this time.
"Then you've come to the right place! Sweet Apple Acres produces the best apples you done ever tasted! You can pick from any of these fine trees. Go ahead, don't be shy."
I looked around before deciding on the tree closest to me. I spun around and kicked it hard, causing some apples to fall down. The next thing I did caused AJ's jaw to drop: I opened my mouth super big before sucking all the apples in. Beat that, mare with an appetite of a full-grown stallion! Then I heard a nearby bush rustle. Probably Twilight fainting.
AJ ran over to the bush, confirming my guess. "Twilight, are you okay?"
If Twilight fainted from just my inhaling, then Celestia knows how long she'll be out after I float or, better yet, show off my Copy Ability!
Kirby has come so far on his journey. He has freed me from the influence of that dark heart, he has defeated the generals at Jambastion, and he has already made it to the Divine Terminus, where the greatest villain they have ever met threatens to conquer Pop Star and the surrounding planets. I can only hope that he can defeat this evil...
"Absol, Ab!" my Absol interrupted.
"What?!" I exclaimed. This was terrible. Absol are able to detect disasters and warn people before they occur. However, since they appear just before disaster strikes, they are believed to bring disaster and are therefore assumed to be bad. I can see through that because I have Absol as my partner. "...Oh, Krabby. Now Hyness will most likely succeed in rebuilding the Jamba Heart..."
"Absol! Ab-Absol!"
"And all because of an overzealous NESP!" I was furious. "That is why I never trust youths with psychic powers."
"Xatu." Xatu, totem-like bird Pokemon, can see into the future. They are often seen staring towards the horizon, apparently to concentrate.
"...Is that so, Xatu? Roborygon certainly is a valuable ally, but I am unsure that even he can take on this challenge."
"Xatu." My Xatu did something I never expected it to to do. "Tu, Xatu Xa-tu!~🎵"
I gave Xatu a deadpan stare. "They were sent to the world of My Little Pony? Seriously?"
"Absol."
"The villain was sent there, too? I can only imagine what will happen..."
"Relax, Sir Meta Knight."
I turned around and saw a blue, bipedal fox creature. "Why should I relax, Aura Master Lucario?" This specific Lucario was trained by none other than Pummel Fist, and later on, Lucario trained himself hard enough to become the ultimate user of Aura, the ultimate Lucario. He joined a league of heroic Pokemon known as the Expedition Society and was put into a special class of overpowered Pokemon known as Master Pokemon.
"I trust in Kirby's abilities. Not only does he have the capability of stealing the power of things he swallows, but he also has an incredible amount of knowledge about My Little Pony. He'll work with the ponies and conquer Hyness together. Besides, he gave me some knowledge of the show, and that knowledge leads me to believe that they will succeed."
"Absol."
Lucario turned solemn. "Oh, Deerling. Little do Kirby and his friends know that Hyness has teamed up with the Changeling queen." After a pause, I saw a small smirk appear on Lucario's muzzle. "This will be interesting: A power-copying hero versus a villain that can take on any form! Discord's going to need some popcorn..."
"Who?" Why did I even ask who Discord was? Considering the name, Discord's probably a mixture of all kinds of creatures and is evil... somewhat.
Wow. I knew Twilight would be really shocked by my power to inhale, but I didn't want to make her faint! I thought the worst that could happen would be Twilight going on a mad frenzy to figure out how I did that, but I was very, very wrong. I figured she needed some alone time, and I felt really sorry for making her faint, so I walked over to Fluttershy's place to get over my sorrow with help from her animal friends. I didn't expect to see Rocky coming from that direction, though!
Rocky jumped up and down with joy.
I was quickly cheered up by my friend. "Poyo!" Rocky walked towards Sweet Apple Acres, but I stopped him. "No!"
I led him instead to Carousel Boutique, where Rarity was. When she saw us, she gazed at Rocky's hat. "Oh, my! That hat looks stunning on you, little one! Where did you get it?"
Rocky tilted his head in confusion.
"Might you be one of Kirby's friends?"
Rocky nodded.
I introduced the two. "Rocky, Rarity! Rarity, Rocky!"
Rarity said, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rocky. I'd shake your hoof, but you don't seem to have one." She turned to me. "Are all of your friends this... unique?"
"No."
"By any chance, has Rocky met Maud? She simply adores rocks!"
Rocky shook his... body.
"Then follow me, Rocky. I know of this rock mine she visits frequently that you might find her at."
The two left the boutique, leaving me to find something to do. I didn't get far, though, because Rainbow Dash soared into my path. "Hey, Kirby! A friend of mine has something that she thinks belongs to you. Hop on, I'll take you to her!"
Instead of hopping on, I showed off another of my powers: I sucked in a huge amount of air and began to float, using my arms to get higher.
Rainbow gawked at me before pouting. "Showoff..."
I followed Rainbow into the air, and we landed on a cloud. Also on that cloud was a mustard-yellow Pegasus in adventure gear. Rainbow just took me to her idol. "Glad you could make it, Rainbow Dash. Is this the little dude you called Kirby?"
"He sure is!" Rainbow introduced me to her idol. "Kirby, this is Daring Do. Daring Do, this is Kirby."
I shook Daring Do's wing. She said, "Nice to meet you, little guy." She reached into her hat and took out a green hat that resembled Link's, but with a watery ball at the end. "I think this belongs to you."
That was the hat I was wearing when I fought Zan Partizanne! I eagerly put it on before a watery sword appeared in my hand.
Rainbow Dash's jaw would have fallen all the way to the ground if it wasn't attached to her. "Did that just happen?"
Daring didn't seem very surprised. "I've seen a lot, and I can easily say that this just happened. Apparently, the hat gives him the power to use an aquatic blade. Maybe other hats give him other powers."
Just then, Rainbow grabbed me and said, "Come on, Kirby. We're heading to Carousel Boutique!"
There again? Okay.
Back at Rarity's place, Rainbow literally shoved me in front of Rarity and said, "Rarity, get this: The hat Kirby's wearing gave him a water sword! Do you think other hats will give him other powers?"
Rarity seemed amazed. "That's just marvelous, Rainbow Dash! I'll go and see if any of the hats I made will give him any powers." And just like that, I was being bombarded with hats. "This one isn't working, or this one, or this one..."
After ten more hats, i had enough. I decided to show them what hats gave me powers: I plucked one of Rainbow's feathers ("Ow!") and inhaled it, then I obtained a feathery hat that extended down my back.
Rarity's jaw dropped this time. "Are my eyes deceiving me, or did Kirby get a feather hat from eating your feather, Rainbow Dash?"
"I don't think he's done, Rarity."
You bet I wasn't! After I ran outside, I used the wings I earned to take off. I did some cool flips and loop-de-loops before dive-bombing Rainbow Dash. After seeing her hilariously shocked reaction, I launched some feathers at a cloud and shaped it into a circle. Now that's how you do a self-portrait!
Rainbow and Rarity looked at the cloud in awe. Rarity finally said, "Kirby is quite the skilled artist!"
"Yeah!" Rainbow added. "He's fast, awesome, and good at drawing! But do you think he's a good guy? I mean, just because he looks cute doesn't mean he's good. Remember the parasprites?"
"You do make a good point. He's like a more brilliant parasprite. But we haven't seen Kirby do any bad things besides suddenly plucking your feather for his hat."
I knew from the start that the ponies would be kind of suspicious about me, since I just came out of nowhere. That's why I let them discuss their suspicions, until...
"You do realize you're talking bad about the Star Warrior that conquered Nightmare, Dark Matter, Zero, and several other villains that threatened his peaceful planet of Pop Star, right?" We turned and saw a gray unicorn stallion with a yellow and black mane, purple irises, and a black horn. He spoke with a certain coolness and calmness.
"I'm sorry, who are you," asked Rarity, "and how do you know this?"
The unicorn chuckled. "My name is Bright Fountain, and my extensive research on many topics, including faraway planets, never fails me." He flashed his cutie mark, which was a book with a light bulb on the cover. The light bulb glowed as he said, "See that hat Kirby's wearing? It's a sign that he has the Wing Ability. Inhaling objects is the main way Kirby gets Copy Abilities, but he can also get them by putting on their respective hats or making contact with a Copy Essence. And if you see a green metal thing with a purple cap or a living rock with a rock hat walking around, don't panic. They're most likely the friends Kirby made by throwing Friend Hearts at them. Friend Hearts charm opponents upon contact and make them instantly befriend the thrower."
Rainbow gave Bright a deadpan stare. "Look, dude, I'm not into learning stuff. That's more Twilight's thing."
"If you're suggesting that I look for the princess of friendship to share my knowledge of Kirby with her, I will gladly accept your suggestion."
I butted in, "No, fainted!"
"She fainted? That makes plenty of sense, especially if she saw you inhale a large amount of things or copy a power. I'll just wait at her place until she comes there. Farewell, Star Warrior, and farewell, bearers of loyalty and generosity!"
Wow, that Bright Fountain guy knows a lot. At least he trusts that I'm a good guy.
I found myself at the entrance to a mine filled with rare gems. My footsteps echoed as I slowly walked in. Stomp, stomp, stomp. The gems everywhere were quite a sight to see.
But there was a sight that saw me first. "Nice hat." I looked deeper into the mine and saw a gray pony with flat hair. Her expression was equally plain. "I'm Maud. Who are you?"
So, she's this Maud pony that Rarity spoke of. I replied by turning into my name again.
"Nice to meet you, Rocky." I was impressed that she didn't seem surprised, either by the fact that I'm a living rock or that I turned into another rock form. "Have you met Boulder?"
I tilted my head--or body--in confusion. Who's Boulder?
Maud took a small rock out of her pouch and put it in front of me. "This is Boulder. ...He seems to like you."
I stared at Boulder. Boulder stared back at me. A lot of people don't know the inside story of rocks. They just think that rocks are useless and do absolutely nothing. They are completely wrong. When I looked at Boulder, I could tell that he's been through a lot. Maud must have rescued the little metamorphic rock from the clutches of weathering and erosion. We need more people like Maud where I come from, people that know the usefulness of and care for us rocks. Rocks can be saviors, of forests and deserts alike. My thoughts were interrupted by Maud, who asked, "What do you do for fun, Rocky?"
The truth is, I never really thought about it. But there is this one thing we Rockies do when we have nothing else to do. I led Maud to the edge of a cliff, and I stood on the edge. I did something that most people would never do if they wanted to live: I jumped off. Long falls are nothing for Rockies.

That felt... nostalgic. It reminded me of the thrill of falling off of things. Hmm, perhaps I should take up parkour sliding again like from my stone-age years...? I hadn't done that since Papa Golem gave me a white and blue bandana for my 12th birthday. Ah, I remember when I was just a wee little pebble and Grandpa Blocky would push me off a cliff. He always was a hard-working, fun-loving stone, running all around and trying to smash annoying critters that came by. But then came the day when Kirby met him. Gramps sure got a beating from that round pink ball. The worst part was when Blocky got eaten whole! I swear, I was gonna teach him a lesson he'd never forget, that awful Kirby guy! The only memento of Grandpa I have now is my hat. However, now that Kirby taught me about friendship, I don't feel quite as mad at him. But still, I wonder every once in a while why Kirby whooped Blocky's hind end and ate him.
Maud met me at the bottom. She wasn't scared for my safety, because I wasn't risking my life. "Good job, Rocky. That was a great fall."
I, Rocky, had a great fall indeed. Ah, I sure enjoy nursery rhymes. It always fascinated me how a Grizzo could jump over a moon or why a bunch of Poppy Bros Juniors would live in a shoe... Wait, is Boulder fallin' asleep on me? *stomps to wake Boulder*
Since I had nothing else to do, I just followed Bright to Twilight's castle. I stopped, however, when I heard hoofsteps. "Howdy, Kirby." Applejack was pulling a fainted Twilight in the direction of her castle. Spike wasn't far behind. "Can ya believe it? Twi's still out cold."
Spike added, "We're taking her back home so she can recover."
We continued together to the iconic crystal tree castle. However, when we got in the Cutie Map room, we were in for a surprise. There was not only Bright, but another Bright!
"Uh," AJ asked, "What's goin' on?"
The Bright closer to us said, "Just a stare-off between the imposter and the real deal. It's cliche."
The other Bright replied towards us, "You wouldn't understand, because you don't have an identical evil clone."
"How do you know that? You're not me."
"I'm quite certain I'm not the imposter."
The two continued volleying insults until Applejack stepped in. "Hold on, now. Instead of playing Am Not, Are Too, y'all should actually be tryin' to figure out who's the real deal."
The Bright near us said, "That is an excellent idea. Therefore, I hereby challenge myself to... a dance contest!" Okay, that threw me.
The other Bright would have to agree with us. "Why not a trivia competition?"
"Either one of us could fake answers to questions based on Kirby. And besides... I was born to dance!"
"...Very well. Prepare for your defeat!"
Far away, on planet Earth, a slender, green biped gasped. "There's a dance competition going on in a different planet, and I'm missing out!"
To keep things simple, I'm gonna call the Bright closer to us Brighton and the farther away one Brighter. Brighton began with a moonwalk followed by a backflip onto his front right hoof. Brighter countered with a somersault into an electric slide. Brighton came back with a running-mane transition into the robot.
The battle continued until Applejack once again interrupted, "I beg your pardon, but who's the judge?"
Both Brights stopped dancing upon hearing this. Brighton said, "Might I suggest Kirby?"
Brighter replied, "That is a ridiculous idea! Kirby doesn't know what good dancing is!"
"But I do!" Entering the room was a light brown unicorn mare with her auburn mane neatly curled into a bun. "I, Power Beat, will determine the victor of this dance battle! I could sense the dance vibes from a mile away, and I already know the victor."
"Oh?" Brighter grinned. "And who might that be?"
"The winner is..." Power Beat paused before pointing to... "...you, who did the brilliant running-mane transition into the robot! That was a bold move for a pony like you!"
Spike said, "Bright Fountain sure is a good dancer, but what does that have to do with knowing about Kirby?"
"If you want to know which one of these Brights knows Kirby and is therefore the real Bright, then I suggest a new challenge: a sing-along!"
"Challenge accepted." Brighton looked Brighter straight in the eye. "I have a feeling that you are a good singer, but do you know some of the songs Kirby has come across?"
Power Beat laughed. "You took the words right out of my mouth. Ready, set..." Power Beat's cutie mark, a whole note, glowed as it gave off upbeat music. "Here we go!" She began to sing:

Brighton joined the song:
All aboard the Friend Train! We're livin' life in the fast lane! The Friend Train isn't powered by steam, but by our collective dream So come on, it is time for us to go team!
Twilight began to wake, due to the music's influence. She seemed surprised, but she didn't faint again. Instead, she eventually began to join the song. "I have no idea what's going on, but I just can't help but sing!"
The same went for AJ and Spike.
Chugga, chugga choo, we're comin' for you! Get run over or out of the way of the Friend (Train) None of us will brake for the bad guys' sake, rollin' right into the fray on the Friend Train!
We're not gonna stop 'til the bad guys drop, Then the Star Allies will say, "Hip hip horray!"
Brighter's jaw was dropped. But he quickly pulled himself together. "I must admit, you're good. But I believe it's time for one more challenge..." He pulled Brighton close to his face with his horn as he scowled. "...Appeal." Brighton casually smirked in response. Brighter opened his mouth and... nothing happened, to Spike's, the ponies', and my surprise. "What?! B-but how?!"
Brighton replied, "Here's the thing: I do indeed feel emotions, but the emotions are emulated. I was pretending to feel. I adapt to my environment to gain an advantage. I pretended to feel so that you would reveal your dark side and try to feed on my love. Now that you know my secret, it's time to drop my disguise." Brighton's eyes turned completely purple as his body faded away, revealing one of my friends. "I am an artificial lifeform known as Roborygon! Now it's your turn..." Roborygon hit Brighter with a bolt of lightning, causing Brighter to rapidly change forms before settling with a black alicorn with holes all over her body. "...Queen Chrysalis!"
Her disguise broken, Queen Chrysalis grimaced. "You disgust me. You emulated love, you knew who I was this whole time, and yet you didn't let the bystanders know my identity! I seem to have no choice but to choose another victim." The Queen pulled me in. "Little pink thing, give me your love!"
It's your funeral, Chrysalis. I created a pink heart out of thin air, and I threw it to her. She turned it into a mist that went into her mouth, but she choked on it.
"Ugh, what was in that? Your love tastes terrible!"
"That was because it was pure love," Roborygon said smugly. "Kirby gained the power to throw Friend Hearts when a pink heart given off by the Heart Spears landed on him. The Heart Spears were keeping a villain of pure darkness sealed in a dark heart known as the Jamba Heart."
Now it was my turn. I opened my mouth wide again and inhaled really hard. Chrysalis tried to resist, but she was pulled into my vacuum of a mouth. Twilight resisted the urge to faint as I waddled outside and... Ptooey! I spat Chrysalis out, sending her far into the distance.
Twilight was speechless. I expected another research session revolving around myself. I would've been right if Twilight hadn't fainted from seeing my musical pal Meloetta in place of Power Beat. "I knew I was missing out. I just had to join the fun!"
That's a new record: 2 faints in one day. Something told me Twilight would be out longer this time.
We were sitting around the Cutie Map with Twilight out cold on it when Meloetta asked, "Melele me mele me?"
"We could try that," Roborygon replied.
Meloetta pulled out a flute with a red and white ball in the middle. She played a slow, calming tune, and Twilight began to stir. "Wha... What's going on?"
Applejack said, "Ah just can't believe it, Twilight. We've met Discord, and you fainted once from seeing Kirby eat a bunch of apples whole and another time from seeing a unicorn turn into a strange critter."
"I know, but I didn't faint the second time from the two weird things. Kirby inhaled Queen Chrysalis whole! And he shot her out with enough force to send her all the way into Everfree Forest! I was keeping myself from fainting because we encountered her."
Roborygon replied, "Kirby is an intergalactic hero with incredible power and a stomach like a black hole. Of course he can launch Queen Chrysalis from here to Everfree!"
"He won't eat me, will he?" Spike asked.
"Kirby's a hero, but he has a big appetite. That's why he ate so many apples. You'll be safe as long as he's well fed. And even if he's hungry, he wouldn't eat his friends."
"We're already considered his friends?" asked Twilight. "But we don't even know him!"
"You're friends in his eyes. And if you want to research him, go right ahead. He's a real mystery that you'll never completely solve."
Twilight gave a determined grin. "I accept your challenge. But first, Spike, take a letter." I thought she'd never say it. "'Dear Princess Celestia, a strange pink creature appeared in Ponyville not long ago, claiming to have accidentally come while he and his friends were fighting a villain. He had the strength to launch Queen Chrysalis from my castle all the way to Everfree Forest! Also, two other creatures had come to my castle, apparently his acquaintances. I request your advice in approaching this predicament. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.'"
Spike rolled up the letter and breathed green flames on it, turning it into smoke that flew away. Then he looked at me. "You're acting like you've seen me do that a hundred times."
Roborygon said, "He's seen a lot weirder. Ever fight a scary jester head with bat wings, or a disembodied bee head with butterfly wings?"
Twilight raised an eyebrow. "Where's the proof?"
"I caught it all on tape. I'll show you later." Yeah, my friends and I fought both Marx Soul and Soul of Sectonia together. And we won. "Right now, you'd better get to researching before Celestia responds!"
Twilight looked at Roborygon with wide eyes. "You know about Celestia?!"
"Research pays off!" Roborygon would have grinned if he had a mouth, but instead, his eyes closed proudly.
Twilight smiled from ear to ear. "You like to research?"
"It makes up the vast majority of my life! I have no need to consume food or drinks, due to being artificial, so I instead use knowledge as my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Fun facts make up dessert." Roborygon laughed after the fun fact line. The rest of us also laughed.
"Something tells me we'll be getting along quite well."
I sure hoped Twilight and Roborygon get along well. They seemed to be made for each other! I wondered who would get along with my friends, until...
"BURP!" Spike burped out a fire that turned into a letter. "Let's see... 'Dear Twilight Sparkle, this pink creature sounds like quite the heroic character. Bring it and the others you mentioned to my castle, but keep a watchful eye on them. I recommend bringing your friends along. Sincerely, Princess Celestia.'"
Meloetta exclaimed in a singsong voice, "Melele mele!"
Roborygon replied, "I concur. It's time for a team-gathering montage!"
Twilight said, "Come with me, Pinkie Pie. We've got an assignment!"
"You got it!"
Gim said, "I'll come too, yo!"
"Rarity, we're heading to the princesses, and we need you to come with us."
"Of course, darling."
"Rainbow Dash, we've got a mission from the princesses."
"Count me in!"
"Who's that, Fluttershy?"
"This is Rocky." Rocky hugged me... or at least nuzzled me, since he has no hands.
"Can you bring him with us? We need to head to the princesses."
I couldn't believe it. I was actually going to visit the princesses of the sun and moon! And with my friends too! Another awesome adventure had begun! I walked with pep in my step as Meloetta played a happy tune on her Poke Flute, as I heard Pummel Fist, also known as Pummeler, call it.
When we made it to the train station, Twilight said, "We'd like twelve tickets to Canterlot, please. My friends and I are escorting these--wait, where's Rocky and Fluttershy?"
*bowling ball hitting pins noise* A curling stone rammed into me, causing me to land on my face and the stone to turn into Rocky, who also fell on his face.
Fluttershy quickly caught up. "I'm so sorry about that. Rocky wanted me to help him catch up by blowing wind on him, but he went really fast."
"That was his Curling Friend Ability," Roborygon explained. "When a friend adds wind, water, or ice to a rock partner, it turns into a curling stone that defeats all enemies it makes contact with. To be precise, he used Clean Curling, which is the fastest type of Curling."
Before Twilight paid the conductor (or whoever accepts the money), I picked up a shiny object that fell out of Rocky's helmet. I knew what it was, so I gave it to the conductor instead. "Where'd you get that gem, Rocky?" asked Twilight.
Rarity took a close look at the gem. "This gem appears freshly excavated. Rocky must have found it at the mine."
Rocky closed his eyes with joy, anime-style.
The conductor gave us each a ticket. "All aboard!"
My friends and I sat in one pair of seats facing each other while the Mane 6 and Spike sat on the pair on the other side. So, this was what it was like to ride the Friendship Express...
Spike turned to me. "I remember that Roborygon said you've encountered various songs, and Meloetta played a song that you seemed to really like. We kept singing about a Friend Train. What was that about?"
Pinkie Pie chimed in, "Ooh, maybe it was because you and a bunch of your friends from another dimension formed a line and became a living train to defeat an evil winged jester who countered with a giant mouth laser, but you guys won anyway! Oh, and maybe he made one of your friends faint with his awful death scream."
Roborygon made his eyes smile like Rocky did. "That's Pinkie Pie for you, always making absurd guesses that are completely correct. She's right to the very last word, sadly. Here's the context of the song: Every once in a while, Kirby comes upon a pedestal called a Friend Platform. When he and three of his friends are on one, they can perform a Friend Action that involves teamwork. One such action is the Friend Train, where they line up and the one at the front dons a conductor's cap with a smokestack on the top. A humorous hat, if you ask me. Anyway, the first time the song was sung was when Kirby and his friends from another dimension fought a horrific creature known as Marx Soul. They used the Friend Train to counter his massive laser beam, but they struggled, even with Mario's Fire Tickle boosting their speed and therefore their force. Pummel Fist, the one who brought these heroes together and fought alongside them, sang the song as a last resort, hoping it would help restore Meloetta's strength so she would assist them. However, it was the song itself that gave them the strength to power through the laser and slam into Marx Soul, ending his maniacal plans for good. Fluttershy, you would faint if you had witnessed his utterly dreadful death. That fate occurred to Mario's green-clothed brother Luigi." I shuddered when he mentioned that, as did Fluttershy. Poor Luigi...
"Aw man, I wish I would have been there..." Rainbow Dash whined.
"No, you really don't. Don't make me make the sound Marx Soul made when he was finished off."
"Nothing scares me! I dare you to do it!"
Gim smacked Rainbow with his fire yo-yo. "Seriously, bro, I heard it all the way from my home on Planet Misteen! You would not want to hear it, even if you really are brave."
"Why should I believe a metal yo-yo thrower?"
I put on my sword cap and pointed my water sword at Rainbow.
"Right, you beat him. Good point."
Applejack asked, "Sorry to interrupt, but might there be any apple trees where y'all come from, Kirby?"
Roborygon did the eye-smile thing again. "You have no idea. If you ever come to Planet Pop Star, be sure to visit Whispy Woods, the guardian of the apple trees."
"Does that mean he's an apple tree, too? I'd say that's kinda weird, but we've met Discord, so..." Applejack shrugged.
"The draconequus that used to be bad but now is reformed thanks to Fluttershy? He'd love to come over to Pop Star and possibly the planets near it. There are living spiky balls, orange walking things that shoot beams from their single eye, and walking microphones that attack by singing."
"I would, Discord, but in order to tell you every weird thing about Pop Star and the surrounding planets, I'd have to make up numbers to count them all."
"I can help. What about googolplexillion? That's the number one followed by three googolplex zeroes."
Wow... I was actually in Canterlot. It looked amazing in the show, but now that I'm actually in it... just wow! What also wowed me was Discord pretending to be me, floating with air in his body. Only me, King Dedede, and Pinkie Pie should be allowed to do that. That's our style, Discord!
Anyway, two Pegasus guards blocked our way into the castle, saying, "What business do you creatures have here?"
Twilight went up to them. "Don't worry. We're escorting them to the princesses."
The guards nodded. "Very well, allow us to lead you."
We found ourselves led to a big throne room with two thrones. The taller one held a white alicorn with a flowing rainbow mane, whom I remembered to be Celestia. The smaller one held Luna, a dark blue alicorn with a flowing dark mane. Celestia said, "Hello, my little ponies. Have you brought the creature that was able to launch Chrysalis from your castle all the way into Everfree?"
The ponies stood to the side, revealing me. "Hiiii!" I said.
The princesses were staring at me with wide eyes. "Uh," Celestia finally said, "hi, little one. Do you know about this creature named Queen Chrysalis?"
I gave a fierce shout as I took a battle pose.
Celestia flinched. "Okay, you don't like her at all. Got it. Is it true that you recently launched her all the way to Everfree Forest?" I nodded. "I see. How did you do it?"
Applejack explained, "You see, he opened his mouth real wide and sucked Queen Chrysalis right in! Then, after he went outside, he spat her out real hard. It was a real sight to see!"
"We can still see the sight, because I caught it all on tape." Roborygon showed us a clip of the instance from his point of view, starting when the Queen's disguise was broken by Roborygon's lightning bolt and ending when Twilight fainted. The clip caused a roller coaster of reactions from the ponies, from fear to shock to relief in that order. "See how Kirby made a pink heart and threw it at the Queen? That was a Friend Heart, which he can now make and throw at will due to a small pink heart falling on him. As for his inhaling and spitting out, that's his signature skill."
Celestia said, more surprised, "Well, congratulations, Kirby. That is indeed a useful skill. What can the Friend Hearts do?"
Gim said, "He used them to make me and Rocky his friends! By the way, Your Majesty, my name's Gim."
"Thank you, Gim. Who are the other two creatures?"
Roborygon said, "My name is Roborygon, and this is Meloetta. I was disguised as Bright Fountain in order to blend in with the citizens of Ponyville, but I found Queen Chrysalis using my disguise as her own. We had a stereotypical real-versus-fake stare-off until Applejack said that the two of us should actually be figuring out who's the real one. After a dance battle--don't ask--Meloetta, disguised as Power Beat using her musical prowess, suggested a sing-off about a Kirby song, because I know Kirby the best. After I won, Chrysalis tried to steal my love, but I don't really feel emotions. I just emulate them. Her act fell apart at the seams, and I revealed her true form."
"That was quite a devious tactic you used. Are you always so clever?"
Roborygon shrugged. "I just analyze my surroundings and adapt accordingly. But I always emulate emotion in order to connect with others."
Celestia smiled. "That's an excellent habit you have, Roborygon. If Queen Chrysalis comes back for more, you and Kirby will be our secret weapons, you for your inability to feel true love and Kirby for his Friend Hearts, which seem to harm the Queen."
Roborygon's eyes turned sad. "Here's the thing, Princess: Queen Chrysalis isn't the only villain we have to watch out for. NESP's mistake not only sent Kirby, Gim, and Rocky here, but he also sent Hyness here. Hyness is a dangerous villain who has now teamed up with Chrysalis to defeat Kirby."
We all gasped. A crazy wizard has teamed up with a shapeshifter to defeat me and my friends!
Celestia turned serious. "This isn't good. We will need all the help we can get. Kirby, how much experience do you have with battling villains?"
I raised my fist in the air triumphantly. "Poyo!" Then I let out a big yawn. Just what time was it?
Luna gasped, "Oh, it's time for me to raise the moon. I am afraid we'll have to continue discussing our battle plans tomorrow."
Roborygon said, "I have a suggestion, Princess Luna. Since my research says you can enter dreams, I highly recommend you try entering Kirby's dream tonight so you can learn more about him and his experience with villains."
"I will gladly do so, as soon as my sister and I do our duties." All right, time for a good night's rest...
Yipee! Whoo! You gotta love riding through the sky on a Warp Star! Imagine surfing on air!
Oh, is that Luna? She flew over to me. "Greetings, Kirby. How are you?"
I answered, "I'm doing great, Luna! It's so much fun to ride around my home planet on my Warp Star!"
Luna looked down at my home planet. "So, what is your home planet called?"
"It's called Pop Star. That's an awesome place where the Fountain of Dreams allows everyone to have good dreams every night. Come on, I'll take you there!"
We soared towards a place that looked like it was always nighttime. "The Star Rod powers the Fountain, but there was one time when it was broken by King Dedede. I set out on an adventure to get all the pieces back together and put the Star Rod back in the Fountain, but..." I did so, and a big blue sphere with stars on it came out of the Fountain. "...the Nightmare came out and tried to take over the planet. The King sent me into the sky with the Star Rod so I could take down the Nightmare and save the world!" We soared to the moon where I fought the Nightmare, which had turned into a scary wizard guy with shades. After I defeated him, we flew away and watched the moon explode. "That's why the moon looks like that."
Luna looked at the moon curiously. "Your world is quite the peculiar one, I must admit. It appears so peaceful."
"Not really. Every once in a while, there's a bad guy that tries to take it over. I've beaten every one up to now, the Star Warrior I am." A bunch of monsters appeared in the skies. I pointed at the black ball with an eye. "There's Dark Matter..." At the white ball with an eye. "...Zero..." The white thing with wings and a halo. "...Zero again..." The jester guy with wings. "...Marx..." The Nightmare-like guy with an orange ball in his belly. "...Dark Mind..." The black star with an eye. "...Dark Nebula..." The wizard guy wearing a gold crown. "...Magolor, who's now reformed and not controlled by the Master Crown..." The bee queen, who quickly merged with a vine. "...Queen Sectonia..." And finally, at the giant silver cat face. "...and Star Dream, a supercomputer that became living and evil. I could continue, but there's a ton of baddies I've beaten."
Luna gawked at me. "Just how did you beat all those villains?"
I rubbed my head. "Well, I did get some help with some of them. Also, I've had to use some special powers against a lot of them, such as the Rainbow Sword against Dark Matter, the Triple Star Cane against Dark Nebula, the Super Abilities against Magolor, and the Robobot Armor against Star Dream." Then a robed guy appeared. "That's Hyness, the one who I was about to fight before NESP made a mistake with his teleporting spell."
"Was the spell what caused you all to come here to Equestria?"
"I think so. Follow me to where it happened."
We traveled to a faraway space station, the Divine Terminus. A woman in yellow was laying on the ground while Hyness was doing something in front of a big dark heart. "That woman's Zan Partizanne, the highest of Hyness' generals. My friends and I just beat her." Hyness turned and saw us before shoving Zan out of the way. He went on a crazed rant about these guys called Ancients and a Dark Lord. A guy in a blue hood then floated forward. "And this was when NESP said..."
"Azarath Mentrion Zinthos!"
We appeared in the skies above Ponyville. "That's how we got here. At least since Hyness is also here, he can't rebuild the Jamba Heart. We've got the advantage, 'cause there's strength in numbers. It's 12 versus 2."
"That may be so, but we don't know what Hyness can do."
"Yeah, but Queen Chrysalis only got a taste of what my friends and I can do. She never got to see our team attack we used on Zan Partizanne!"
Luna smirked. "You seem quite determined to defeat Queen Chrysalis and Hyness. I suggest you get to know the ponies so you can work together like the friends you made with Friend Hearts. Then you will be a force to be reckoned with!" That's my Luna, trusting in her strength.
"You bet I'll get to know the ponies! It'll be like the Mass Attack all over again! ...Also, if it's time, could you please wake me up?"
It was so nice of Celestia and Luna to let me sleep in the guest bedroom! I thought I'd never get such a good rest. I got up and stretched before heading outside to get some fresh air.
Gim came too, as well as Rocky and Meloetta. Gim asked, "What's the plan, yo? Where we heading?"
Rocky shrugged.
"You're right, bro. We should just get to know Equestria and get acquainted with the ponies."
Roborygon came soon after. "I can provide a map of Equestria if you need it." He used his antenna to make a map appear. "As for me, I'd like to visit Manehattan."
"Manehattan?" Gim asked. "That sounds like a super advanced metropolis, yo! I'm in!"
Rocky pointed with his left foot at the place labelled "Rock Farm."
Meloetta pointed at Las Pegasus. "Mele!"
Knowing now where each of us wanted to go, I pulled out my Cell Phone and pressed a button on it. Soon after, my Warp Star came and picked us up. We looked down at the amazed ponies beneath us. Even the guards seemed surprised.
First stop, Manehattan! Gim was right; Manehattan sure was an advanced metropolis, for Equestria's technology. It was just like the real Manhattan.
Gim and Roborygon hopped off. Gim said, "Thanks, bro-yo! I can't wait to see all the cool stuff here!"
Next comes Las Pegasus, which looked like a resort from Las Vegas. Meloetta stepped off with sparkling eyes. "Mele..."
After that, the rock farm. It seemed so dry and barren, which I guess is appropriate for a rock farm. Rocky jumped off and landed with a thud.
Finally, it's my turn. I flew straight for the place I landed: Ponyville. It was perfect for me, because it was just like Cappy Town in Dream Land. That brought back so many memories...
"Now, time for research!" Get ready to have your mind blown, Twilight!
Now that I'd made it to Ponyville, my first stop would be to my idol Pinkie Pie's home, Sugarcube Corner! I knew that I was supposed to get to know the townsfolk, but I really wanted to see Pinkie Pie. She'd be so excited to throw a crash-into-Ponyville party for me!
I headed towards the life-size gingerbread house before seeing something weird: There was a trail of crumbs. It was likely either leading to a trap or a surprise party. I tasted one of them and... It tasted delicious! Strawberry shortcake, my favorite! I eagerly followed the trail, leaving nothing behind.
I followed the trail into a house and past a light brown mare. She seemed shocked, and I didn't blame her. As I came near the end of the trail, I heard something strangely familiar. It started quiet, then began getting louder as I approached. I followed the trail to a small room, and I instantly knew what the sound was. Oh, I just love listening to that orchestra version of Green Greens! The music was coming from a TV set. I didn't know they had TVs in Equestria! Anyway, the screen showed what looked like me with a microphone and three helpers playing instruments. Whoever was playing that must have loved music as much as I did!
"So it does work in real life! ...And he IS real!" I looked behind myself and saw a little brown colt with a hat that had a propeller on it. The propeller was spinning like crazy. Yep, it was the gamer. "I can't believe I'm talking to Kirbay!" Kirbay? That's probably Equestria's version of Kirby. Pretty good pun if I do say so myself. "Hi, Kirbay! I'm Button Mash! I know all about you and--wait, shouldn't you be out trying to stop Roiall (royal)? What happened?"
He must have been talking about Hyness, so I did my best to explain. "Psychic warp oops!"
"You mean that your friend Espony messed up and warped you here?"
"And friends and baddie!"
"Well, that neither helps nor hurts. Now that your other two friends and Roiall have all been warped here, you can team up with the ponies and beat up Roiall together! But what if Roiall teamed up with a bad guy?"
"Chrysalis!"
"Aw man! He's working with Queen Chrysalis?! You'll need to pull out all the stops to beat them! You have a combo move in mind?"
"Yeah!" I said with a determined grin.
"Good. All you need to do now is get to know the ponies and Spike, then you'll be almost unstoppable! I wish you good luck!"
I stared at Xatu. "Kirby got some useful advice from a video-gaming colt? Preposterous!"
Lucario told me, "Not exactly. The Princesses told him the same advice, which I find to be quite useful. There's strength in numbers, and if Kirby gets along with the townsponies, then he'll have a massive number that will be very effective against the duo of Hyness and Queen Chrysalis."
"Absol, ab."
"In other news, the Queen and Hyness are becoming better acquainted. They're formulating a clever plan that involves Kirby's friends."
My eyes dilated. "This is bad. If Queen Chrysalis transforms into one of Kirby's friends..."
"...She could feed off of Kirby's love for that friend! Kirby would be defenseless against her and Hyness!"
"We need to warn Kirby! But how?"
"I could use my Expedition Gadget to contact Kirby or Roborygon, but some kind of interference is in the way."
I thought for a moment. "Lucario, does your Double Team affect those the user makes contact with, making both the user and the one being touched make illusory copies?"
"That is possible, but I see no reason why it would work."
"I ain't got no idea why that would be useful, but I need Kirby to clobber that there monster!" King Dedede had joined us alongside his faithful servant, Bandana Waddle Dee, as we now looked into the distance on the Divine Terminus.
I smiled, though it was unseen behind my mask. "Lucario, did that sound familiar to you?"
Lucario gasped, "Meloetta came there because of a dance competition and is now exploring Equestria with the others?"
Bandana Dee asked, "Doesn't Meloetta answer to rhythm, no matter how far away?"
My smile grew wider. "Better yet, she can understand the language of dance. Now do you know why Double Team would be useful?"
The King replied, "I sure do! Don't you ever watch Youtube? There's this cool set of videos where Super Smash Bros characters do various taunts that sound like a song. Mine's the best one ever!"
"If we combine that with other components of dance..."
Lucario realized what I was getting at. "...then we can talk to Meloetta through dance! That's brilliant! There's one flaw, however. We don't speak dance."
"But my partner does! Come on out, Dededance!" Dedede sent out a Ludicolo. "Listen, Dededance, we've got a message to get across to a fellow dancer, but we need your help to dance out the words..."
Las Pegasus was every bit as amazing as I had learned about it. There were so many stunning sights and attractions, such as carnival rides, a fountain plaza, and even a hot air balloon port for returning to the ground. That's right, Las Pegasus is in the sky! The best thing about it: It looked like the perfect place to perform my brilliant melodies!
But first, I'd better take on a form more comfortable with the ponies that inhabit it. I sang one of my tunes quietly to myself: "I used to wonder what friendship could be...~🎵" I felt the music inside me mingle with my DNA, and I began to transform. My body became larger and more stout, and I lost balance on my feet, forcing me to walk on all fours. Something pushed out of the front of my face, that something being a nose. Oh, Pummel Fist would have gotten a kick out of seeing that happen! ...If I hadn't been covered in musical vibes. Last came the weirdest and most... violating: my tail. It was... unsettling, to say the least. My transformation into a unicorn was complete. I wasn't Meloetta anymore, but neither was I Power Beat. This green unicorn form with a mane like Rarity's was actually Aria Tone, my Aria Forme's pony alter ego. Power Beat's for my Pirouette Forme.
I took my place in front of the fountain in the plaza and announced, "Fillies and gentlecolts! My name is Aria Tone, and I am about to sing my debut performance! Everypony, this song was inspired by a very heroic character in my life. I call it... Sky-High Allies!" My magical abilities kicked in and provided the background music as I sang:

The ponies watching me applauded, and I took a bow. "Thank you, thank you! You have been a wonderful audience!"
I turned to visit the attractions, but something called out to me. It was... dance! And It was pleading for me to hear its call! I listened closely... It said, 'Meloetta, there's bad news about the bad guys. Hyness and Chrysalis have hatched a plan to use Kirby's friends as beings to transform into, and something terrible would happen if Kirby fell for the trick! You must warn Roborygon, who will send the message to the others. Hurry, before it's too late!"
The show's only getting started! Time to get it on the road!
I was living the dream. Rocks. Stones. Pebbles. All around me were these dull wonders of nature. And then there was the largest, most amazing stone I had ever seen. It appeared important, because it was being proudly displayed on a raised area. Finally, a place where rocks are praised.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" A mare with a bluish-gray coat and gray mane stood before me, staring me down. "Well, are you gonna answer me?"
I responded by looking at my surroundings.
"Are you even listening to me? Answer me!"
A rather shy-looking gray mare tapped the other mare on the shoulder, imitating sealing her lips shut.
"Okay, so apparently you can't talk, but can you at least find some way to tell us why you're here?"
I thought for a moment before shrugging. I didn't know what to turn into in order to explain how I got here.
"Then get out of here, stupid rock!"
"Thou shalt not call a rock of any kind stupid!" An amber stallion wearing a black fedora and a gray mare with an opal-gray mane came into view. The stallion continued, "While this rock may not be from these parts, perhaps it came to make peace with us."
I nodded and did the closest thing I could do to bowing.
"What might your name be, strange rock?" This again? This would be a long day... "Ah, a wise decision, being slow of tongue." He perfectly described my personality: slow, calm, thoughtful. "My name is Igneous Rock of the Pie clan. This is my wife, Cloudy Quartz. The pony that verbally assaulted you is Limestone, and the timid one is Marble."
I had an idea: I stomped on certain parts of the ground, pushing them further in, until the engravings spelled out my name.
"Rocky is your name, then? 'Tis a pleasure to meet you, Rocky." Igneous Rock shook my foot.
A green unicorn came down on some sort of musical road. "My sincerest apologies, Igneous Rock, but I must borrow Rocky for a moment." She pulled me to the side. "It's me, Meloetta. I need your help to send a message to Roborygon: Hyness and Queen Chrysalis have hatched a plan involving Kirby's friends, and we need to build a strategy."
I believed the unicorn, and so I transformed into a silver statue of Kirby with the Ultra Sword Super Ability, with a fish in his hand. The unicorn took a small rock from a nearby mine shaft and rhythmically struck me with it, creating sparks with each tap. Morse code: even rocks use it.
Statistics obtained from Kirby said that Manehattan was the Equestrian counterpart of New York City, and its name is a play on Manhattan. A metropolis such as this would be paradise for robots like us.
I was about to explore this amazing area, but Roborygon pulled me into an alley. "We're going to stand out if we continue like this. I'll provide a disguise. Engaging ponification module." His antenna glowed and surrounded us in some sort of exoskeleton. Upon visual analysis, I determined that Roborygon had turned into his Bright Fountain alter ego, and that I had taken on the form of a light green Earth pony with a blue mane and irises, my signature backwards purple cap, and a red, metal backpack. "What would you like your pony alter ego to be named?"
I answered, "I'd like this dude to be called Throw Dynamo!"
"An excellent name for a yo-yo user."
"I know, but where is my yo-yo? I'm not myself without it!" Almost as if in response, my backpack opened up, and a metal arm came out holding my yo-yo, which was still ablaze. "Sweet! Now I can use my yo-yo and do other things at the same time, yo!"
"Now, where do you want to go first? Do you want to do something that will test your intellect or test your physical abilities?"
"That depends. What do you have in mind for testing such capabilities?"
"There is this escape room that offers these puzzles and riddles that lead to a key to escape, and there is also an ice-skating rink. There are many other activities, but those are the ones I would choose between."
"I'd do the rink, but my yo-yo might melt the ice. Can you help with that, bro?"
"Sure, Throw. Get your yo-yo ready!"
I held my yo-yo in the air, and Bright hit it with an ice beam, covering it in ice. "Now I've got a Blizzard Yo-Yo! Thanks, bro!"
"That's what I do. Now, let's go find that skating rink!"
When we reached the rink, it was kinda barren, except for a few ponies. That meant I had plenty of room to try out my skating skills! I thrust my yo-yo under my feet--er, hooves--adding ice blades to the bottom of them. Instant ice skates! Bright and I did some cool ice-skating tricks involving my yo-yo, and we completely dominated the rink, yo!
Suddenly, Bright's horn gave off rhythmic sparks. It was Morse code, the universal language for robots! Bright said, "We've got a problem with the villains. We need a way to recognize each other before it's too late."
"Recognize each other? The shapeshifter must be planning to transform into Kirby or his friends to trick us! I suggest a chant or something like Twilight and Cadance do."
"Excellent idea, Throw. I'll contact Kirby and the others to tell them our plan."
Should've seen that coming. I was teleported to Twilight's castle so she could research me. I wondered what she was going to do...
"Okay, the field study didn't go quite as planned. Now it's time for hooves-on research!" Twilight used her magic to force my mouth open, only to be surprised by what was within. "...Is this a stomach or a whole universe?!" A lot of people would mistake my stomach for a universe if they didn't know much about me. "I mean, I can see all the apples you ate back at Sweet Apple Acres! And is that a tree with a face!?" She saw Flowery Woods, I'm sure of it. "A bunch of blocks with star symbols on them!?" Star Blocks, I'm not sure why they're found in my path, because I can easily take care of them. "WALKING BOMBS!?" Bombers. THUD! That makes the third time Twilight's passed out on me since I came to Equestria.
Better wake her up early so she can finish her research... hopefully. I looked around for something to wake her up. Let's see... there's Spike, a feather duster, a lot of books--aha! I've got it! I put on my Splash Sword hat and looked at Spike.
Spike nodded. "Do it."
I prepared my sword and rushed at the books.
Just then... "NO!" Twilight came to and pulled me away from the books. "What were you thinking?"
Spike replied, "He was just trying to wake you, Twilight. Apparently he knows how much you love books."
"And how would he know that?"
I pointed at the huge bookshelf around the room.
"Okay, but why should I believe that he was just trying to wake me?"
My Cell Phone rang. Saved by the ring! Roborygon was calling. "Kirby, there's a problem. All you need to know is that we need a way to recognize each other, like how Twilight and Cadance do." I thought of the Chrysalis-Cadance incident when he brought that up, and Twilight seemed to as well. The bad guys must be planning to turn into me or my friends! "Where should we rendezvous?"
I replied, "Here, Twi Castle!"
"Very well. I will contact the others so we can meet there. Be careful, Kirby!" Click!
Twilight looked at me with narrow eyes. "I guess I'll let it slide this time. After all, there's still the threat of Queen Chrysalis and Hyness, and you seem to know the two pretty well. Research will have to wait."
Spike asked, "But what will we do while we wait for the others?"
Good question, Spike. What can we do that isn't research but will still be useful? We could have a sparring match, but that might destroy Twilight's castle. I could read one of Twilight's books, but I already know a ton about Equestria. What to do, what to do... "Play!"
Twilight said, "I guess we can play. It might improve our motor skills or allow me to better understand you. What do you want to play, Kirby?"
Hmm... "Chase!"
"You want me to chase you?"
"Yeah!" I put on my Wing outfit.
Twilight put on a determined grin. "Okay, but be warned. I've done a lot of chasing with Flurry Heart, so I'm sure it won't be much different with you."
I would go on to prove her completely wrong. Twilight chased me through the castle corridors, the library, her room, and eventually outside where we each had an advantage, both of us able to freely fly around. No matter how she flew, she couldn't catch up to me. I was doing all sorts of stunts, like Condor Dive and Shuttle Loop.
"Let's see how you handle this!" Twilight teleported right in front of me.
"Dive Bomb!" I did a loop-de-loop and tackled Twilight, knocking both of us to the ground. I have to admit, Twilight's pretty smart and tough, but has her training with Flurry Heart prepared her for this? Time for some real fun with the Wing Ability: Tickle war! I shot my Feather Guns at Twilight's hooves, and it seemed to be pretty effective.
"Why, you little beast!" Twilight was about to break into laughter, which was a good sign. That would attract Pinkie Pie, and all three of us would have fun together.
"Are we missing out on something?"
Twilight and I turned and saw my metal pals. "Roborygon and Gim?"
Roborygon's eyes turned mean. "A tickle war? Oh, I've got to record this! Pummeler would just love what I suppose will eventually happen! I'm coming in for a close-up!"
Twilight dropped her guard, the perfect time to strike. I quickly stuck a feather up Twilight's right nostril. "What the--"
Roborygon exclaimed, "Called it!"
I slowly rubbed the feather along her nostril's walls. "Stop it, you're making me..." Twilight began to laugh. Not quite the response I expected.
Pinkie Pie bounced into view. "Hi, what's going on? Ooh, a tickle war! I wanna join!" She bounced closer, but she seemed kind of unsure. "If you're trying to make Twilight sneeze or something, it's not gonna happen. She's unsneezable!"
"Poyo?"
"You didn't know? I thought you knew ALL about Equestria!"
Keeping his eyes on Twilight, Roborygon replied, "You're mistaken. I'm the one who knows all about Equestria. Also, even if Twilight has never sneezed before, that doesn't mean she can't. And while we're talking about sneezes, Kirby's annisneeziversary is on April 27th. That's his anniversary both for beating his first bad guy and for his first sneeze."
"Ooh! I bet it must have been strong enough to knock all the stars outta the sky and make two fall right on his head!"
"That's right. Mark that date on your calendar, Pinkie Pie."
Twilight interrupted, "So, are you going to take the feather out or what? My nose is kind of itchy."
I decided to let the poor alicorn go and take care of her itchy muzzle, because the rest of my friends arrived. "Well, that was anticlimactic, yo."
"Can ya believe it, Meta Knight? Twilight the Unsneezable!"
"I have to admit, that's a pretty useful trait, King Dedede. She wouldn't have to worry about revealing herself in stealthy missions, or risk letting go of everything she was holding."
My friends and I waited at the Cutie Map table for Twilight, discussing our plans as we did so. I was really worried, because the Queen could've been any of us, or any thing. Until we put together a plan, we couldn't trust anyone... besides Pinkie Pie. I know her like the back of my... hand?
"I'm back." Twilight came into the room. "Did I miss out on any important information that I could really use?"
"Not yet," Gim said. "We haven't figured out a way to distinguish ourselves from a disguised Queen Chrysalis."
"Speaking of..." Roborygon sent a light wave of electricity throughout the room. "Nope, she isn't here. If she was, she would've been forced back into her true form by the electrical disturbance, rearranging her unstable DNA into their usual combination."
"That would help," Twilight said, "but I don't want to hurt your friends, Roborygon. Is there anything else we can do?"
Pinkie Pie suggested, "Maybe they can all do something that Queen Chrysalis can't, like a signature move!"
My friends and I smiled, because we all had a special ability in common. Well, besides Meloetta. She can't throw Friend Hearts. There went our smile. Meloetta sadly played a slow, mysterious tune on a flute, a song like... water.
Roborygon's eyes lit up, literally. "Why didn't I think of it earlier? Meloetta, while the rest of us can throw Friend Hearts to show who we really are, your specialty is music. That tune you just played... it's Lugia's song! Your distinguishing trait will be playing that song, using the baton you used during Pummel Fist's birthday battle. Think of your baton as the Wind Waker!"
Meloetta's eyes sparkled with wonder and delight. She materialized a baton and played a short, quick tune out of joy.
Twilight asked, "All four of you can throw Friend Hearts? Really?"
Gim replied, "You bet! Watch, I'm gonna go somewhere and befriend somepony in a--"
Roborygon stopped him, saying, "Hold on, Gim. I don't want to basically brainwash Equestrians into helping us. We should let them decide if they want to be friends."
Twilight was concerned by this. "Wait, brainwash?! Kirby, you BRAINWASHED these two into being your friends?! I knew there was something suspicious about you!"
I jumped back. It wasn't what it seemed like!
Roborygon stepped in. "Wait, Twilight! Kirby didn't even know that was how Friend Hearts worked. He just woke up one afternoon and discovered that he could turn his enemies into friends by throwing hearts at them. He would never force a pony to be his friend. The ones he turned into friends were actually trying to stop him from saving the day! They were bad!"
Pinkie added, "Or maybe they were just minding their own business when Kirby came along and they were like, 'Ooh, target practice!' and attacked him for no reason forcing Kirby to throw Friend Hearts to get them to calm down! Or better yet, Kirby uses Friend Hearts to help him continue on his journey, like if a raccoon and fox attack only to be turned into friends so they open a gate for him!"
Twilight stared at Pinkie while the rest of us smiled. Another Pinkie Pie guess, crazy but right!
Twilight finally said, "Well, now that we have taken care of recognition, we should probably focus on our battle plans now."
"I concur," replied Gim. "According to the footage that Roborygon shared with me, Queen Chrysalis appears to be weak to Friend Hearts. Because Kirby has used Friend Hearts to befriend us, we can also throw Friend Hearts, so we have that advantage."
"But what about Meloetta? Can she throw Friend Hearts?"
Roborygon became sad. "Alas, she cannot, for she wasn't befriended by a Friend Heart or the Dream Rod. However, she does have a serene voice that can restore her allies' strength. Such purity can also be harmful to Chrysalis, because of its harmonic powers."
"Melele mele?"
"Her type? That is a good question, Meloetta."
Twilight asked, "What do you mean by type?"
"Meloetta comes from the world of Pokemon, inhabited by these creatures of all shapes and sizes. Pokemon each have their own type, such as Water or Flying. Pokemon can use moves, which also have types. Certain move types are strong or weak against Pokemon types. For instance, Fighting-type moves are super effective against Rock-type Pokemon, and Ground-type moves have no effect on Flying-types. Meloetta is a Normal- and Psychic-type. What qualities does Chrysalis have?"
"Let's see... Queen Chrysalis has insect-like wings, and she refuses to share love rather than steal it."
"Stealing love sounds devious, like darkness, and her insect wings are qualities of bugs. My conclusion is that Queen Chrysalis is a Bug- and Dark-type. Meloetta is at a severe disadvantage."
"Oh no! What is strong against Bug- and Dark-types?"
Roborygon's eyes narrowed. "There are a few types that are super effective against Bug- and Dark-types: Fire-, Flying-, Rock-, Bug-, and Fairy-type. Of those types, the offensive move types Meloetta can learn are Flying-, Bug-, and Fairy-type. The precise moves she can learn are U-Turn, Acrobatics, and Dazzling Gleam."
"How can she learn those moves?"
"Meloetta has to be taught those moves. Do you know of anypony that has skills similar to those moves?"
"I'm sure Rainbow Dash could teach Meloetta Acrobatics, and Rarity could teach her Dazzling Gleam, but I'm not sure about U-Turn."
"U-Turn is a Bug-type move, so perhaps Fluttershy or her animal friends could help with that. On the other hoof, though, I'm sure Acrobatics and Dazzling Gleam will be enough."
"Okay. Meloetta, I suggest you visit Rainbow Dash first. Her home's pretty easy to spot, because it's in the sky. Rarity lives at Carousel Boutique."
Meloetta nodded and flew away.
Gim asked, "What can Rocky and I do?"
Twilight replied, "Rocky can practice his stone formations with Maud as his teacher. Gim, you should practice your yo-yo tricks, but hang on to that fire element. And Kirby, I want you to make friends the right way." Twilight glared at me when she said that last part. "Roborygon, you're staying with me so you can share your knowledge of Hyness."
Okay, Twilight wanted me to go and make myself a friend (the right way), so that's what I chose to do. I looked throughout the square in search of a good pony to befriend. Hmm... King Dedede might want to meet Bulk Biceps... Zecora's kinda mysterious like Meta Knight... But what about me? I mean, I've got Pinkie Pie, but we're already friends. Who out there that isn't basically a pony version of me will like me as a friend?
"Are you okay, Kirby?" Man, even I didn't know Fluttershy was so good at sneaking up on people. "You look kind of lonely."
"Poyo..."
"Don't worry, little guy. I'm here for you." I looked up and smiled at Fluttershy. "Let's go to my place so you can meet my animal pals."
"Poyo!" I jumped on Fluttershy's back, surprising her.
"Oh! You're... actually kind of light."
Heh, it's easy for me to be thought of as heavy when you think about my appetite. "Poyo?"
"I meant that in a good way. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings."
I gave Fluttershy a big hug before pointing in the direction of her home.
"You're right, Kirby. It's in the past, and we should be moving forward. So, let's go!"
We found ourselves in Fluttershy's innocent little cottage. The only one who didn't seem very happy about me being there was a little white bunny. Angel Bunny. "Don't worry about Angel Bunny, little guy. He just isn't used to strangers being here. Say, why don't I fix some tea to get you settled in?"
I nodded.
"Okay. Give me just a minute." Fluttershy went over to the cabinets to get some tea, giving me some time to have a look around.
The cottage was so nice and peaceful. There wasn't too much clutter, and it was small, like my own home back in Dream Land. And the view from the window made me right at home...
"Kirby, your tea's ready." Fluttershy poured some tea into a little cup and gave it to me.
"Poyo!" I said thankfully. I took a sip, and--huh? Something happened to me. Suddenly, I leapt up and flipped in the air. Could it be happening? I became surrounded by a tornado of something green, which threw me all around before disappearing. When it was gone, I had a hat made of leaves, with a green gem on the front. What was in that tea?
Angel grabbed the box that held the tea and looked at it, then he showed us the front. It had a leafy theme. No wonder I got the Leaf Ability!
Fluttershy grinned from ear to ear. "You look so cute in that hat, Kirby! Do you always get a hat when you eat something?"
"Abilities!" I only got a hat if what I ate gave me an Ability, like Leaf.
"So you get abilities from eating certain things?"
I nodded.
"That's interesting. What can this Leaf Ability of yours do?"
We walked outside so I could show her. I shot a few leaves around and spun, creating a leaf tornado. I then shot some leaves in the distance, hitting some clouds far away. After that, I hid in a leaf pile.
"Your Leaf Ability is pretty neat. I like it a lot!" Fluttershy hadn't seen anything yet.
Maud watched me come from a distance, her stone stare unflinching. "So, you're here." Maud met me in Ghastly Gorge, a perfect place to test my stone skills. "Are you ready, Rocky?"
I nodded.
"Okay. We'll start with the basics. First, try a cubic form."
I took on the form of a brick block.
"Good job. Next, take on a circular form."
I turned into a statue of the Friend Circle Friend Action.
"That's an interesting one. Is the round one Kirby?"
I returned to my normal form and nodded.
"Pinkie Pie told me about him. From what she told me, Kirby seems a lot like Pinkie." True, except Pinkie is much more erratic and energetic. "...I'd like to meet him sometime." Maud put on a small smile.
I would have smiled back, if I had a mouth. Instead, I just jumped on the spot. Unfortunately, I was so heavy that the shock from my jump scared Boulder out of Maud's hoof and into the canyon.
"Boulder, come back. It's dangerous down there."
But Boulder refused to listen and tumbled all the way to the bottom, landing in front of a large hole in the wall. From that wall emerged an equally large, crimson eel with very sharp teeth that lined its jaws. Boulder didn't know how much trouble he was in.
I couldn't sit around and do nothing, so I stood up, did a sumo stomp, and fixed my eyes on the eel. It was my stone-age years all over again. Time to slide.
I ran to the edge of the cliff and jumped up before transforming into a most appropriate form: a mighty Thwomp. I slid down the slope, veering left and right. My target was right before me. I slid faster and faster before... Thwomp! The eel was crushed under my weight.
I kicked Boulder, who was safe and sound, up to Maud before I made my own way up.
Maud took boulder and gave him a small hug. "Don't scare me like that, Boulder. You could've gotten badly hurt." Maud then turned to me. "Rocky, you're a lifesaver. Thank you for rescuing Boulder."
I nodded. I was just doing what I did best.
"You know, I think you're doing fine with formations. We should really be working on your sliding skills." I'm quite glad that I did that parkour sliding when I was younger.
Twilight gave me a mission: to bring my yo-yo skills to their maximum levels. I decided to set off on a yo-yo journey, looking for the best of the best to train me in the art of yo-yo-jitsu. Except... ponies have hooves, and likely aren't good at yo-yos. Perhaps Twilight Sparkle would know someone who is good at yo-yo throwing. Therefore, I returned to the castle.
"Twilight, I'm in need of your advice. I don't know if there's anyone who can help me with my yo-yo skills."
Twilight and Spike were looking at a hologram of Hyness, projected from Roborygon's antenna. Twilight looked over to me. "I'd be glad to help, Gim, but I'm not very familiar with the concept of yo-yos. At least, I haven't seen one before."
I asked Roborygon, "Do yo-yos even exist here?"
He replied, "I have no data to confirm whether they exist. For now, we'll just suppose they don't." How depressing for a bot like me.
Twilight got out a piece of paper and a feather. "Can you tell me what a yo-yo does, Gim? It looks interesting."
My optical lens brightened. "I'd be glad to, Twilight! A yo-yo is a toy that spins on a string. Making it go up and down is the thing! Give it a fling then a flick of your wrist, and it'll come back to you. What a twist!"
Twilight stared at me. "Do you think you could tell me without rapping? That kind of threw me off."
"Oh, sorry. I just got a bit excited. Let me try again: A yo-yo is a toy made of two short cylinders connected by an axle and wound up by a string. One end of the string is attached to the yo-yo, while the other is looped around the user's finger. When you flick the yo-yo out like this, it unwinds and goes in the direction that you flicked it. As soon as it reaches the end of the string, you flick your wrist back like this to make it rebound and wind back towards you again. Here's a little info for your science side: It utilizes the law of inertia!"
"Of course! An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside force! I really would like to try using a yo-yo, but I don't have fingers. Maybe Spike can help you train?"
Spike said, "Well, I have claws. Will that do?"
I replied, "They sure will, Spike. I'd offer you a yo-yo, but I only have this one. I'm sorry, but it isn't like I can just conjure up a yo-yo for you."
Then the strange thing from the train came in through another Door. "Did you forget about me?"
"Oh, right. You. Discord, was it? You gotta make a yo-yo for Spike to use. And remember, not a huge one, or one that will throw itself, or one that laughs when it is thrown, or any other strange quirks."
"You're no fun." Discord snapped his fingers and made a yo-yo appear out of thin air. It was perfect: the right size, the right shape, no weird noises coming from it, nothing strange. "Here you go, Spike. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some chaos to attend to." This time, Discord rode away on a purple diamond. Way to rip off Kirby's Warp Star, Discord.
I turned my attention back to Spike, who was getting tangled up in his yo-yo's string. I sighed, "I might have to teach you how to be a yo-yo-using bro before you train me."
Lucario chuckled. "So, the roles have been switched for Gim and Spike. Now the student is teaching the teacher for a change."
"True," I replied, "but Gim can't properly train if he has to train the teacher."
Dededance, as the King's Ludicolo was apparently called, chanted, "Ludi ludi co-lo! Ludi ludi co-lo!"
Lucario smiled. "He makes a point. Even if Gim doesn't become any stronger or more skilled, they will have double the firepower--" Lucario laughed. "--pardon the pun, if Spike learns how to yo-yo, and even more so if he adds Sizzle to his yo-yo."
"So, I didn't completely blow it?"
I quickly turned around and glared at the young 'hero.' "Not completely, but you still blew it, NESP."
I aimed my sword at him, but Lucario said, "Save your anger for after Kirby conquers Hyness." Lucario turned to NESP. "I am very disappointed in you, but you had good motives and a good plan. I completely understand that you really wanted to quote the chant that Raven says when she performs a spell, but remember that she is always calm and collected. That is how she keeps her powers under control. I highly recommend you adopt her personality traits to control your own powers."
NESP looked up at Lucario. "...Okay. I'll try to do that. It'll be kind of hard, though."
"That's okay. I'll train you later on, after this ordeal is over."
NESP smiled. "Thanks, Lucario."
I began to worry. NESP had good intentions, but if he couldn't keep his incredibly potent powers in check, something disastrous could happen...
"You okay?" NESP suddenly asked.
I said nothing.
Lucario told NESP, "Sir Meta Knight is concerned about you and your powers. He fears that something dangerous could happen if you don't learn to control your powers soon."
"Hey, it isn't like I can control my powers just like that. I'm just a kid."
"And so is Pummel Fist, but he can control his powers. All you have to do is believe in yourself. I'll be by your side."
"What do I do until I learn to control my powers? It isn't like there's a paradise somewhere that I can go to train."
Lucario chuckled. "You've much yet to learn, my friend. I know something that most people from this galaxy don't. You see, just northeast of Pop Star, there's a hidden planet where you can train to your heart's content. There's even a room where you can fight an onslaught of bad guys, and you'll be rewarded greatly if you can manage to run the entire gauntlet. It's name... Ability Planet."
I glanced over at Lucario, intrigued. "The Ability Planet exists?"
"I'll show you after this journey ends. NESP, I'll take you to the Ability Planet on the Warp Star."
I felt my music could not be bound to Ponyville and Las Pegasus, so I flew to the place that only the most royal of royalty could be allowed to hear my song: Canterlot Castle. The guards made way for my melodic presence, giving me access to the throne room.
"Greetings, Meloetta," Celestia said. "How might you be?"
"Mele!" I replied.
"That's good. Now, what is the reason you came here?"
I took out the Pokemon Flute and showed the princesses.
"Oh, you wish to play for us? That would be most pleasing for us to hear a song from you. Go right ahead and play to your heart's content."
"Melele!" And so, I did. I played the Flute to the very best of my abilities, which of course meant that I played well enough to make the princesses awestruck. They were so entranced by my skillful playing of Lugia's song that they didn't even notice my colleague nearby. Time for the grand finale...
"What is this?" I hadn't planned for visitors, let alone my technologically incredible ally, Roborygon. "You must be a fast learner, Meloetta. You already learned Dazzling Gleam or Acrobatics?"
I winked. "Me, mele."
"True, you are the embodiment of music, which is dazzling and goes up and down both in pitch and volume. But I must ask, why did you play Lugia's song an octave lower?"
"Me mele... melele me."
"Hmm, I see... I know that you played it lower due to the princesses' royalty status, but you already played it in front of Twilight Sparkle, who happens to be a princess herself, so why do it an octave lower for Celestia and Luna? My theory is--"
"Melele!" Could it be? Another me! "Mele me!"
"Ha ha! My suspicions were confirmed. My melodic partner says that lower-pitched songs are attributed to villains, so she completely ratted you out! Reveal yourself, fiendish imposter!"
My ruse had come to an end. "Curses! My disguise was foiled again!" I transformed into a more comfortable form for me, my natural form: the Changeling Queen Chrysalis!
Roborygon burst into laughter. "You actually thought you had me fooled? That's preposterous!"
I raised an eyebrow. "Wait, you knew who I was the whole time, yet you acted as if I was the real Meloetta?"
"It amused me to watch you try to come up with reasons behind your actions."
Celestia chuckled. "He makes a point. It was kind of amusing to watch."
I growled. "You dare humiliate me in front of Celestia and Luna?! I shall crush you for that!"
"Not if I can help it!" Roborygon's antenna flashed. "Calling Star Allies, calling Star Allies! Queen Chrysalis has been spotted at Canterlot Castle."
"Melele mele melele me!"
"Oh." Roborygon turned to me. "Are you sure you want to fight us here, in the castle? The castle could be ruined by the battle, so you wouldn't be able to turn it into your personal castle."
"Good point. Should we take this match outside?"
"Not just outside. There's this place called Ponyville, and there's nothing of value to you that could be destroyed. After we're all finished off, you can return here to take over Canterlot then spread your influence all over Equestria!"
I grinned. "I like the way you think. But if I don't see you and your friends there in ten minutes, I'll start without you."
"Understood. Star Allies, change of plans. We're battling Chrysalis in Ponyville, in ten minutes. Make your way there immediately!"
I teleported outside, where my colleague was preparing an ice spell to freeze Celestia. "That's enough, Hyness. Rather than take down Celestia, we're going to destroy the heroes of Equestria and the so-called Star Allies first."
I got the message as soon as I finished cleaning up at Rarity's boutique. Shout out to Fluttershy for letting me eat her broom for the Cleaning Ability! I didn't think it would be useful for the battle, though, so I threw it away in the form of an Ability Star. Rarity seemed pretty amazed by it.
"Oh, my! That star looks glorious! Kirby, you wouldn't mind if perhaps I kept it, would you?" I couldn't help but feel bad for Rarity as the star shattered. "...Oh. Never mind."
I didn't let it bother me for long, because there was a monster to clobber! When I made it to the square, my friends were coming as well. "Poyo!" I said, determined to bring down the dangerous duo that was to come.
Shortly after my friends came, the Mane Six and Spike followed, the ponies with their elements. I was kind of surprised to see that Spike had a yo-yo, and that it had his green flames on it. "Hey, what do you think of my Sizzle Yo-Yo, Kirby?"
I nodded. It would be useful against the bug-like Chrysalis. That reminded me to put on my Splash Sword hat. "Poyo!" I raised my sword in the air. "Fire!"
"You think I should add fire to your water sword? Won't that cancel out the elements?"
I shook my head.
"Okay, if you say so." Spike breathed green fire on my Splash Sword, turning it into Sizzle Sword. "Whoa, it worked!"
Roborygon explained, "Three fire users will be most effective against the Bug-type Chrysalis, and I trust Meloetta has learned a useful move or two."
"Me-le!" Meloetta said confidently.
"Don't you think it would be wise to use your more physically offensive form to make Dark-type moves less effective on you?"
"Mele!"
That was when Chrysalis and Hyness made their appearance. "I'm impressed, you actually came to fight--wait, why are you singing?"
Sure enough, Meloetta was singing a vigorous, graceful song as a sphere of light covered her. "Melelelele melele, le, le! Mele, mele, melelelele, melele, le, le!" When she ended her song, she looked a lot different. She was brown instead of green, her hair was wrapped around the top of her head, and her skirt was flared out like a ballerina.
Roborygon announced, "Behold, Meloetta's Pirouette Forme! She is now combat ready! Prepare for the beating of a lifetime, Queen Chrysalis and Hyness!"
Twilight started by firing a laser beam at Hyness, but it seemed to not hurt him much. "What?!"
Roborygon said, "Hyness seems to be a Psychic- and Dark-type, so Psychic moves won't do much."
Hyness retaliated with a volley of dark orbs, which Applejack quickly took care of. "Really? Weird orbs that can easily be destroyed? That all ya got?"
"That is far from all I have!" Hyness tossed a big orb in the air, and it began to fall towards us.
Rocky took his position under where the orb was falling, and... POW! He destroyed it with a stone fist that he somehow formed.
Gim said, "Sweet Mighty Uppercut, yo!"
"Get out of the way!" Rainbow Dash shoved Gim away from Chrysalis, who had turned into a bugbear (imagine a panda mixed with a bumblebee, then imagine it really big).
"Whew, that was a close one." Gim hit the bugbear hard with Gazer Spiral, spinning up into the air with his yo-yo and spreading fire everywhere. Chrysalis crashed into the ground, scorched by the fireballs. "Time for the Ring of Fire Trap?"
Roborygon warned, "No! Chrysalis can teleport, so it would be useless to keep her in one area. Rather, we should keep moving and chase her around."
"Or I can do this and save you the hard work!" Chrysalis transformed into a maulwurf (a giant mole/bear hybrid) and prepared to slash with its powerful claws.
"Poyo!" I knew that maulwurfs were very tough to beat, except if they harmed themselves somehow, but I prepared my Sizzle Sword to strike anyway. Chrysalis began to slash. "Spin Slash!" I spun around with my sword out, and claw and sword clashed together, making a buzzing sound like an electric saw. Smoke came from my sword, showing how fast it spun against the claw. "...Poy?!" My sword... it was filed away, leaving just a handle!
"Is that all you have to use against me, little puffball?" Chrysalis menaced.
I looked around at Chrysalis, Hyness, then the ponies, then back at Hyness, then back at the ponies. An idea! I turned to Twilight. "Beam me!"
"Are you serious? You want me to fire a laser beam at you?"
I nodded.
Twilight sighed."Whatever you say." She fired a beam at me, then I actually inhaled it. "Y-you can eat lasers?!"
Yep. I jumped into the air and flipped around, until a meteor came out of nowhere and flew right near me. After I approached it, it glowed brightly and disappeared. When the light went away, I had a blue baseball cap with a red visor on, and energy was coming from my hands. I'd hoped I'd get this ability!
Spike said, "Cool hat, Kirby. What's that ability?"
Time to see what this Ability can really do! I concentrated my mind and thought, "This is the ESP Ability. I now have psychic powers. Can you hear me?"
Spike's eyes opened wide. "Whoa, you can talk with telepathy!"
Twilight said, "That's great, but how will psychic powers help fight a 'Dark-type'?"
"Watch this. Miracle Eye!" My eyes glowed white, releasing a flash of light. "Now Dark-types can be harmed by Psychic attacks. Twilight, try your laser beam on Hyness again!"
"Okay." Twilight fired another laser at Hyness, and he was pushed back a short distance. "It worked!"
I said to Meloetta, "Use Dazzling Gleam on both Hyness and Chrysalis!"
Meloetta cloaked herself in a bright light before dashing towards Chrysalis. However, Hyness cast a lightning spell that stopped Meloetta in her tracks. "Mele..."
Hyness prepared to follow up with an ice spell, but I told Gim and Spike, "Cancel out the ice with fire!"
"Got it, yo!"
"On it!"
We all attacked the icy emblems with our fire, making them disappear. "Now, Rainbow Dash, unleash your awesomeness on Chrysalis!"
"You got it, Kirby!" Rainbow flew away to pick up speed.
"Your speedy assault will be futile." Chrysalis transformed into a cragadile (rock crocodile) and stayed low, knowing what was going to happen.
BOOOOOOOOOM! Rainbow charged into Chrysalis at sonic speeds, making a rainbow sonic boom as she did. "...OW! Why again did you have me attack Chrysalis with my Sonic Rainboom?"
I grinned. "It wasn't just for Chrysalis. Check out the freak she's working with."
The Rainboom had knocked off Hyness' cloak, and he was covering his face with his arms. "Juh? Juh... JUH!" Roborygon promptly covered poor Fluttershy's eyes as Hyness revealed his true, crazy form: a blue head with cat-like ears, creepy chameleon eyes, and a giant nose. "JUHYAMBAVITRIGOKOPOKOJAAAH!!"
The only ones who weren't freaked out by Hyness' face were Roborygon and... Button Mash? "Okayyyy, that is definitely not Roiall. I'm sure Roiall not only had a huge nose, but also nostrils. Big ones, too. Just who is this guy?"
Roborygon explained, "This is Hyness. We have different video games on planet Earth than those in Equestria, but they are similar in concept. Hey, maybe you can help the Mane 6 and Spike deal with Hyness!"
"Good idea, whoever you are."
"Actually, I'm not from a video game. I'm an OC, or original character."
Hyness summoned his generals and stole their energy to heal himself before using their bodies to attack.
Queen Chrysalis returned to her original form and grinned. "You're quite the devious one, aren't you?"
I replied, "Eh, more like crazy."
Hyness proceeded to unleash mayhem on the ponies. Rainbow said, "Man, this dude's way tougher than I expected!"
I said, "Warned you."
"So... any ideas?"
Roborygon began to analyze the situation, but Button beat him to it. "The blue one's icy. Cancel attacks involving her with fire. Red's fiery, water and stone will stop her. And yellow's lightning. Water takes care of her. When Hyness uses all 3 as a shield, hit him enough when he shows himself and he'll be stunned. When he makes a circle with them, get out of the way fast."
Queen Chrysalis put on an even bigger grin. "Thank you, little foal. Now I can use that knowledge of Hyness to my advantage."
"...Oops."
Chrysalis began talking to Hyness about their teamwork. Big mistake, not paying attention to the fight at hoof.
I turned to the Mane 6 and Spike. "It's all come down to this. Get ready to be my friends!" I threw several Friend Hearts that landed on said ponies and dragon. Being fully converted to friends, they were right by my side.
"Considering the fact that we were already kind of your friends," Twilight said, "this isn't very bad of you after all."
"Yeah, but that isn't why I threw Friend Hearts at you. Now you can throw Friend Hearts as well to harm Chrysalis. Spike, you're staying with me and the Star Allies to beat Chrysalis with her weaknesses. The rest of you, Roborygon and Button will provide information for dealing with Hyness. Good luck!"
My team started with me using PK Shift to push Chrysalis into the path of Dog Walkers, giving me and Rocky the chance to use Geokinesis to crush Chrysalis. However, the giant Kirby statue began to move, and Chrysalis transformed into an Ursa Minor (giant constellation bear). Uh oh.
"Get away, yo--" But it was too late. Not for Rocky. For Gim. Chrysalis grabbed him by the arm before ripping his yo-yo away. "Not my sweet weapon! All I can do without it is Breakspin and Jumpspin!"
"Then let's make sure you can't Breakspin or Jumpspin either!" Chrysalis took Rocky and smashed him against Gim, turning my robot friend into scrap metal.
Gim's eye flickered. "I-I-I-I'm s-s-s-sorry, b-b-bro... yo..." Then he was gone. Smashed. Done for. Dead. Why, Chrysalis? WHYYYYYY?!
"I'm not done just yet." Chrysalis threw Rocky into the ground, stunning Rocky, before she brought down her mighty paw. CRUMBLE (or whatever sound effect goes with smashing rock)!
We all watched with utter horror at what had happened to my two friends. Tears welled up in my eyes. "Rocky... Gim... I'm sorry..." I looked at the now-normal-form Chrysalis and Hyness. "No wonder bad guys have so much fun. They're so strong." I wiped away the tears. "You know what? Maybe I'd have it better off if I joined you guys."
The ponies and Spike gasped, "WHAT?!"
Chrysalis laughed. "Now you have the correct mindset, stubby little pink thing! Let's take down these pesky ponies, and their little dragon too!"
I glared at my new enemies. "Prepare to be destroyed, my little ponies..." I floated into the air and raised my hands up to the sky. "PK... StarST--Ha ha ha! Gotcha! You should've seen the look on your faces!" I shoved a Friend Heart right into the evil queen's gut, effectively punching her with friendship. "Get her!"
My newly befriended friends and I pummeled Chrysalis with Friend Hearts. After the onslaught, I tossed my ESP Ability away and began to inhale.
Twilight panicked, "Wait, what are you doing?!"
Before long, the Elements of Harmony were stolen from their bearers and in my belly. I was about to do something big, and you wouldn't even have to watch Pinkie shudder to know that it would be a doozy! I flipped into the air and this time, I was surrounded by rainbow energy. As it surrounded me, I couldn't help but think of the awesome song lyrics that go, "Let the rainbow remind you," but my thoughts were interrupted when the energy went away. I was now crystallized, and I wore the Crash Ability hat from my anime (except it was golden instead of dark blue). Instead of a green gem, there was a pink horn coming from the purple, 8-pointed star on the front of the hat. You could see the elements all around my body: Magic was the purple star; honesty was on my belly; loyalty was right above honesty; generosity was on the back of my hat; kindness was literally in my hands; and laughter was found in the several reflective faces on my crystal body, not unlike the Mirror Pool.
Everyone gasped, even Roborygon. "A completely new Ability?! What an incredible discovery! Kirby is bound to do some damage with it! To the bad guys, I mean."
And that I did. But first... "Heal Pulse!" My horn gave off energy that surrounded Meloetta, curing her of her electric shock.
Chrysalis growled, "You still resist, even after I destroyed your friends?"
"They weren't his real friends," Twilight said. "He used Friend Hearts to make them his temporary friends. We, on the other hoof, were by his side from the beginning, from when he came here all the way to now. As for his resisting, he's a hero who is determined to defeat you and claim victory. That's why he stands tall. Meloetta, you got a song for that?"
Roborygon interjected, "I propose a better song than Stand Tall: a theme song! The climax of a story always has the theme song to go with it."
Meloetta never seemed more determined up to this point. She formed a baton and motioned to various ponies, who apparently had some musical talent, for musical instruments magically appeared in their hooves, such as trumpets, violins, and drums. She waved her baton, causing said ponies to play a heroic song.
I proclaimed, "Enter the Harmony Ability!"
Chrysalis glared at me. "Oh, now you choose to talk normally, without all that 'poyo' nonsense."
I shook my head. "Nah, that isn't it. With friendship and harmony, anything is possible! Like this!" I materialized a hitting weapon in my hands and held it behind my head. Time to squash this bug... with a bat! "Batter up!" KREEEEENG!!!
Chrysalis wailed as she was launched away, "NOOOOOOooooooo..." Ting!
I turned towards Twilight. "Have you gotten the chance to study up on Pop Star? If so, then where in the sky do you think it is?"
Twilight pointed to a certain part of the sky. "I'd say Pop Star's right about there. As for the Divine Terminus..." Twilight pointed elsewhere. "...right over there."
"Good. Now I know where to aim my final attack. ...That came out wrong. I already knew who to aim at, and you showed me where to blast him."
By now, Spike had finished countering the Francisca bash attack with his fire yo-yo, stunning Hyness. "If you're gonna attack him, do it now!"
I was waiting to do one of those attack-versus-attack things, but what the hay. I ran behind Hyness, so that he was between me and where Twilight suggested the Divine Terminus was, and charged a big attack.
Hyness turned around. "...Jamblasted."
"FRIENDSHIP. IS. POWERFUL!" My horn unleashed a huge rainbow laser beam that launched Hyness all the way into the atmosphere.
"VUT JAMBLASTED!!!!!" Ting!
Rainbow Dash said, "Well, that was anticlimactic."
I shrugged. "I don't think we reached the climax yet. Remember how he was trying to revive the Dark Lord? I think I'd better get over to the Divine Terminus to stop Hyness." I spat out the Elements and lost my all-new Harmony Ability.
Twilight asked, "Don't you think you'll need the Harmony Ability to defeat the Dark Lord?"
Roborygon replied, "It's better that the Elements be put under your authority, because you are the Bearers of Harmony. Kirby was just doing his job as a hero: defeating villains who threatened the safety of the galaxy. Besides, he shouldn't need the Elements to defeat the Dark Lord; he has more friends than you could imagine, and friendship is magic. Now if you'll excuse us, we've got a monster to clobber with that there Kirby!"
"I think you've made that joke enough times in this story." Pinkie made a good point.
Without further ado, I called my Warp Star to take me, Roborygon, and Meloetta to our next stop. The last thing I heard from Twilight as we began to leave Equestria: "There's just one thing I ask of you, our hero of the stars: come back having saved your home planet and the planets surrounding it, and come back alive, please."
I nodded with determination as we flew off. There was no telling what would await us at the Divine Terminus, no telling what obstacle there would be to conquer...
The whole gang was waiting for us at the Divine Terminus: Pummel Fist (in his Magma Suit), Heart Fist (in her Aqua Suit), Keldeo, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, Lucario, Helix (some guy who became a Pokemon--Decidueye, to be precise--to fight Pummel to blow off steam but lost and became his friend), Mario, Luigi, Paper Mario, Princess Peach, and Team Sonic (Sonic, Tails, and Amy, all riding in Tails' biplane, the Tornado Mk III). They were all cheering and applauding.

Lucario read my mind. "A strange little creature showed us a film that depicted your battle with Chrysalis and Hyness. I think his name was Discord. Oh, you know him? ...A reformed villain with chaotic powers? How appropriate. Anyway, you did well. Clever strategizing and use of your ESP Ability. Although, it would have been amusing to watch you utilize a Jedi mind trick, such as convincing Chrysalis to attack Hyness or to transform into a very weak creature like a Breezie."
I facepalmed. I really should have thought of that.
"Melele..." Meloetta sighed.
"Don't worry, Celestia did see the battle." A small Discord appeared. "Discord had two of me send the video: one to you guys, and one to Celestia and Luna. And let me tell you, their jaws were dropped!" Mini Discord demonstrated by letting his jaw fall to the floor before putting it back in his mouth.
"Rise, Destroyer of Worlds... RISE, VOID TERMINA!" Uh oh. The Jamba Heart wasn't complete, but Hyness had sacrificed his generals and himself to the Heart to complete it, causing it to change into a dark energy that floated away.
Pummel looked at Keldeo. "Think it's time for our ultimate power?"
"Yep. Let's crush that big bad."
"All right. Let our hearts become one as we unleash our full power... BOND PHENOMENON!" Pummel and Keldeo were covered in rainbow energy, and when it left, the two looked awesome: Pummel's hair became needle-sharp, his hands were shrouded in water, and the yellow check mark symbols on his shoes detached and became like lightning pistols or boomerangs, or maybe even both. As for Keldeo, his mane was literally on fire, his hooves were covered in water, like feathering, and the feathers in his mane became longer and sharper, and connected to his sword, so Keldeo had four swords instead of one! He also had the same yellow check marks on his chest, connected to form an electric heart. Pummel Fist was now Keldeo-Pummel, and Keldeo was now Pummel-Keldeo!
Suddenly, a pedestal crashed onto the ground. A Friend Platform. There was only room for four friends, though. But Roborygon had an idea. "Can't we split into groups of four to each get on and activate the Friend Action depicted?"
Pummel grinned. "Of course! You guys can do that, but first, I'd like to try something. Something I've never tried before." He then threw both of his Thunderrangs (that's what I called his electric boomerangs), and they stuck together like a magnet and formed a heart, like the one on Pummel-Keldeo's chest. "Kirby, you inspired me to try this, because friendship really is magic. Keldeo, on the count of three, we make contact with this heart simultaneously. One, two... THREE!"
