Burst and friends need some downtime after their latest adventure. Luckily, spring break has just hit.
After the disappearance of Blitz Surge, Burst and the gang get some much needed rest during spring break. Plenty of time to rest up, and for the girls to have some quality time with their boyfriends.

After Burst and his friends watched the new Power Rangers movie...
"That was AWESOME!", Burst cheered as he and his friends exited the theater. "I know I'll be dreaming about it tonight!"
"I think ALL of us are going to be dreaming about it.", Inferno said with a smile. "I know Rarity's going to be fawning over the armor."
"How could I not darling?", Rarity said. "It's much more protective than spandex, and it looks simply dashing!" Rarity then had a sultry smile on her face as she wrapped one of her arms around Inferno. "In fact...I think you'd look quite handsome in armor like that. You're already my hero."
Inferno smiled. "Well you are my treasure."
Burst smiled at the scene. "We'll all have plenty of time to get in some quality time. Spring break starts this Monday. One day, let's all hit the beach!"
"Wednesday should be good.", Gold said with a smile. "It'll give us all a good amount of time to prepare."
"It's settled then!", Sunset cheered.
"Sweet! I get to kick Steel's butt at volleyball!", Rainbow Dash grinned.
"It'll be nice to be near water again.", Adagio said with a fond smile.
"YAY! Swimming!", Sonata cheered!
"Hope you know how to doggie paddle Fang.", Aria said with a smile as she scratched Fang's ears.
Fang wagged his tail happily. "Know it? I invented it!", Fang joked.
"Something tells me you three will be quite the sight.", Veenus said with a smile.
"Looks like we'll have more time to spend together Star.", Shadow said with a smile.
Starlight smiled. "Yeah. Should be nice to not have any crazy villains popping up for a change."
"Hey North? You got any plans?", Applejack asked.
"Not really lass.", North said with a small smile. "At least, not any that don't involve you. You've yet to show me off to your family."
"Um...Tyrannus?", Fluttershy asked timidly.
"What's up?"
"Could you...carry me again? If, that's..." Fluttershy was cut off as Tyrannus hoisted her onto his back.
"Hoping to get another little nap in?", Tyrannus asked with a smile.
Fluttershy blushed! "Oh my..."
"Hmmm.", Pinkie scratched her head.
"Something up?", Akage asked.
"Akage. I need your help planning a surprise."
Akage smiled. "I've been waiting for a chance like this. What's it involve?" Pinkie leaned in and whispered into Akage's ear. "Ah. Yes, that'll do it. The others will be speechless!"
"Awww! Thanks!", Pinkie chirped as she hugged Akage tightly!
"Pinkie....AIR....PLEASE!", Akage wheezed! The group shared a laugh, and they each went their separate ways. Each of them getting their own plans ready for their imminent break.
Fluttershy was humming to herself happily the next day as she went to the park. "It's such a nice day out.", she said with a smile. She then spotted someone sitting in her usual spot. "Um, excuse me?" Tyrannus got up and looked down at her.
"Oh. Nice to see you again Fluttershy.", he said with a smile. "Was...this your spot?"
"Oh! You don't have to leave! I'll just be next to you! You won't even know I'm here!", Fluttershy said nervously.
"But I like knowing you're here."
Fluttershy blushed! "Oh my...C-could I lay against you Ty?"
Tyrannus nodded. "I'm a lot comfier than tree bark." Tyrannus laid against the treed, and Fluttershy nestled herself on top of him.
"So...why do you like knowing I'm around?", Fluttershy asked.
"Because you're incredibly kind.",Tyrannus answered. "Even if you are a bit, well, shy. And...you're the first one to not run away from me."
Fluttershy gasped. "But...but you're so nice! Why would anyone be afraid of you?"
"Isn't it obvious? Look at how big I am. Most would brand me as a bully due to my size and strength. And my name means 'tyrant'. It's not the type of name you'd normally associate with a nice guy." Tyrannus. "But I can tell you're a bit scared of me too. I saw it when we first met. You probably thought I was going to yell at you, or tell you to watch where you were going. Right?" Fluttershy looked at the ground in shame. "I thought so."
"I-I'm sorry...", Fluttershy whimpered. "I'm a horrible person! I know I shouldn't judge people like that! I-!" As Fluttershy began to cry, Tyrannus wiped away her tears.
"Hey. No need for that. I've got pretty thick skin. It takes a lot to get to me.", Tyrannus said with a comforting smile. "Besides, you took the time to know me. And, I don't mind being your walking pillow. Someone like you could never be horrible. You're nice to pretty much everyone you come across."
Fluttershy managed a small smile. "Thank you Ty." The two watched the clouds. "I like moments like this."
"When you can just let it all go and it's quiet. Right?"
"Yes. You do this too?"
Tyrannus nodded. "Helps me clear my head. Also makes me wanna take a nap. I think I will." Tyrannus drifted off into sleep, and Fluttershy took in his slumbering form.
He looks so peaceful..., Fluttershy thought with a smile. I hope he doesn't mind some company... Fluttershy rested her ahead against Tyrannus's chest. His heartbeat is so calming. Fluttershy closed her eyes, and had a blissful smile on her face as she and Tyrannus dozed off together. A few minutes later, Fluttershy stirred as she felt something nuzzle her. She opened her eyes to find Tyrannus had wrapped his arms around her. "Oh! You're awake Ty!"
"Nice to see you're awake.", Tyrannus said with a smile. "Your hair's like silk. I felt it against me while I was napping."
"Oh...thank you...", Fluttershy said with a blush. She then noticed something. "I thought you had grey hair?"
"I washed the dye out. Brown's my natural hair color. You know, you're quite beautiful."
"Y-you really think I'm beautiful?"
"Inside and out. That kind heart being the most attractive thing about you. That, and your shyness is pretty adorable. And..." Tyrannus blushed. "You've got really pretty eyes. They're so calming."
"Well...I think you're pretty handsome.", Fluttershy said with a small smile. "You have a kind heart too. And...well...you have really nice muscles. I felt them when you carried me. Your eyes are also so gentle."
"So would you like another?"
"A-another what?"
"Another kiss. You don't have to say yes.", Tyrannus said with a kind smile. Fluttershy wrapped her hands around Tyrannus's neck, and brought her head to his before planting her lips against his. The two soon broke the kiss. "You know...I'm okay with us being together more often."
"I...I'd like to see you more too.", Fluttershy said with a smile.
"How about lunch tomorrow? My treat."
"D-does this mean we're dating?"
Tyrannus smiled as he hugged Fluttershy tightly. "Only if you want it like that..."
Fluttershy smiled as she returned the hug. "...I'd love that..."
Akage was hanging around with Pinkie Pie at Sugar Cube Corner. As Akage looked over his deck, he noticed Pinkie looking at him. "Um...is there something on my face?"
"Nope! Just wondering how my deck will stack up against yours!", Pinkie chirped.
"Well, wanna find out now?", Akage asked. Pinkie beamed as she got out her duel disk! "How...where?" Akage was about to continue questioning the pink bundle of energy until he remembered Burst's words: Do NOT question Pinkie Pie. "Heh heh! Never mind." Akage pulled his duel disk out of his backpack as he led Pinkie outside. "Let's duel!"
Akage: 8000 Pinkie: 8000
"Hope you don't mind, but I'll strike first!" Akage smiled as he looked at his cards. "I summon Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo in attack mode!" A ninja clothed in a traditional black gi appeared on Akage's field in a puff of smoke! "Now that he's been summoned, I can add a 'Ninjitsu Art card from my deck to my hand!" Akage searched his deck, and found the card he was looking for! I've yet to try out some of my deck's more advanced techniques. "I end my turn with a face-down."
"Be wary Akage.", Hanzo cautioned. "I sense this girl has many surprises in store."
"Wow! Pretty good field Akage!", Pinkie said with a smile. "Now it's my turn! I draw! YES!" Pinkie was beaming as she looked at her cards. "First I play the field spell Madolche Chateau! Then I summon Madolche Hootcake! Now my field's effect activates! It's pretty sweet! It boosts the attack of my Madolches by 500 points! Attack Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo!"
"You're not the only one who likes surprises!", Akage said with a smile! "I activate my trap! Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation! I can target one ninja monster I control and one face-up monster you control, and send them to the graveyard! Now I can special summon a Dragon, Dinosaur, or Sea Serpent Type monster from my deck whose level is less than or equal to the combined levels of the monsters sent! I special summon White Dragon Ninja!" A white flash of light went off on Akage's field, and a ninja wearing a white gi and with a white dragon spirit by his side took the field!
"Wow! That was a neat surprise. I guess I'll end my turn.", Pinkie said with a smile. "I'll just admire my field." Pinkie gave a fond sigh. "I wish this place was real..."
"Wouldn't that mean you'd eat the Madolches out of house and home?", Akage joked.
Pinkie giggled. "Good one Akage!"
"Thanks." Akage lightly blushed. "You've got a great laugh Pinkie." Akage drew his next card. I hope she still smiles even if I win this duel. "My turn! White Dragon Ninja! Attack her directly!" White Dragon Ninja leaped into the air, and rained down a storm of shurikens into Pinkie's life points! "I'll end my turn with two face-downs."
Akage: 8000 Pinkie: 5300
"Nice move! I draw!" Pinkie smiled. "Time for a sweet combo! I play Double Summon! This lets me do two normal summons this turn! I summon Madolches Butlerusk and Marmalmaide! Now I overlay them!" A swirling galaxy appeared on the ground in front of Pinkie's field, and her monsters turned into two beams of orange light as they flew into the galaxy! "I xyz summon Madolche Queen Tiaramisu! But I'm not done yet! I'll use her as xyz material to xyz summon Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-Mode!"
"Just what I was hoping for! I activate my trap! Armor Ninjitsu Art of Rust Mist! Since you special summoned a monster and I control a Ninja monster, I can halve that monster's attack points!" A rust-colored mist floated around Pinkie's monster, and halved her attack!
"This is so exciting!", Pinkie cheered! "Your deck sure likes to surprise opponents! I guess I'll end my turn."
"That's the best part of ninjas. No one sees you coming.", Akage said with a smile. "And the biggest surprise begins now! I draw! I activate my other trap! Ninjitsu Art of Duplication! I tribute White Dragon Ninja to special summon a Ninja monster from my deck whose level is less than or equal to the level of the monster I tribute! I special summon Earth Armor Ninja from my deck! Now I summon Fire Armor Ninja! Then I'll activate Flame Armor's effect! I'll raise his level by one! Now I overlay both of my monsters!" A swirling galaxy appeared on Akage's field, and Akage's monsters turned into beams of orange and red light as they flew into the galaxy! "I xyz summon Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja!" A ninja clad in crimson armor rose out of the galaxy!
"So. This is the girl who snuck up on you. You're slipping Akage.", Crimson Shadow joked.
"I'd like to see YOU try to avoid her!", Akage shot back. "Moving on, it's time to get you properly equipped. I equip Crimson Shadow with Fuhma Shuriken! This boosts his attack by 700 points! Attack her Puddingcess! Crimson Shadow Strike!" Crimson Shadow disappeared in a puff of smoke! He then jumped out of Puddingcess's shadow, and executed an explosive slash that destroyed Puddingcess! "I end my turn." Pretty sweet trick, right?"
Akage: 8000 Pinkie: 3700
"That was so cool!", Pinkie beamed. "You weren't kidding when you said this was the biggest surprise of the duel!" Pinkie drew her next card. "I'll summon a monster in defense mode and end my turn. Your move Akage!"
"Um..Pinkie? Not to sound rude, but shouldn't you be trying to set up a good defense against my monsters?"
"Hmmmm. NAH! I'm not much of a duelist. I just like hanging around my monsters! They're pretty sweet company.", Pinkie said with a smile. "I'm just dueling because I thought it would make you smile."
"Well, it's working.", Akage said with a smile of his own. "Your friends are lucky to have you. No one's going to stay sad with you around." Akage drew his next card. "And that smile you have is lovely. Now it's my turn to make you smile. I play Double Summon to summon Air Armor and Aqua Armor Ninja! Now I overlay them to xyz summon Blade Armor Ninja! Now I'll detach an overlay unit and target Crimson Shadow! This lets him make up to two attacks this turn! Double Crimson Shadow Strike!" Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja executed two swift slashes! One that took down Pinkie's monster, and another that cut down her life points! "Now Blade Armor! Attack her life points directly!" Blade Armor Ninja charged forth, and executed a graceful slash from the sky! Wiping out the last of Pinkie's life points! When the dust cleared, Pinkie dusted herself off.
"Wow. That duel was a doozy! I had a lot of fun Akage!"
"Maybe...you'd like to spend time with me more often?"
Pinkie gasped as she tackled Akage to the ground with a hug! "Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!", Pinkie cheered as she hugged Akage tighty. Akage had a strained smile as Pinkie squeezed him.
"You're welcome. But I think my vision's starting to..." Akage lost consciousness. Not a moment later, he found Pinkie with her lips on his! Akage jumped to his feet, and soon regained his composure. "Uh...thanks for the revival."
"No problem!", Pinkie chirped.
"You know, you smell like cotton candy. It's sweet. Like you."
"Awww~! So are you!" Pinkie hugged Akage. "Thanks Akage. You know, I never thought anyone would ever ask me to get involved in a relationship. Most people think I can't take anything seriously." Pinkie frowned a little.
"I'd say it's just the opposite. You like to make people happy. And that's something you take very seriously.", Akage said with a kind smile. He then held Pinkie on his shoulders. "I like to make people smile too. Especially when things seem bad. That's when people need to smile the most." Pinkie looked down with a loving smile as she kissed Akage again. "Looks like we both make each other happy. Now. Let's see if we can hunt down an ice cream stand!"
Pinkie grinned. "I SHALL LEAD US TO VICTORY!" Akage and Pinkie laughed as they began their ice cream hunt.
Ice smiled as he hung out with Indigo and her friends. It was nice to be with them after all the previous craziness, it was nice to finally have some calm moments besides school Especially since he got some more time with Indigo Zap. However, he wasn't hanging out with them alone. Midnight couldn't take it anymore! She only knew Ice's friends, and that was about it. She wanted to meet Indigo's friends too.! In a flash of purple light, she jumped out of Ice's shadow! "Hi everyone!" Indigo had a pleasantly surprised smile, but her friends had less pleased expressions on their faces!
"AH! MIDNIGHT!", Sunny Flare screamed!
"I thought she was wasted back at the Friendship Games! How is she still alive?!", Lemon Zest shouted.
"Does....not....compute....", Sugar Coat groaned.
"Not that it isn't good to see you Midnight, but why are you here?", Indigo asked.
"She gave me the puppy dog eyes...", Ice sighed. "She wanted to meet your friends, so I let her tag along in my shadow."
"Yeah...we didn't meet under the best terms.", Midnight said sheepish smile. Sour Sweet was the first to approach her, and she scooped up Midnight in her arms!
"Aww~! She's so cute like this!", Sour gushed as she spun around with
Midnight giggled. "If you don't mind, I'm kinda getting dizzy....!" Sour let go of Midnight, and let her stumble about as she tried to regain her balance. "Whoa...crazy ride..." The rest of the Shadow 5 gathered around Midnight, and couldn't help but smile at how adorable she was. She was no longer the fearsome demon that had attacked the Friendship games, but a little girl. In fact, she looked more like a darker-colored version of Twilight. "Nice to meet you all again!", Midnight said with a cheerful smile. Ice and Indigo looked on with a smile as Indigo cozied up to Ice.
"Gotta say Ice. I didn't think they'd warm up to Midnight so easy.", Indigo said with a smile.
"You all got a second chance. I guess my family gave her one.", Ice said with a fond smile. "She can be a handful, but she really loves me and my family. And when I think about it, me and her are a lot alike." Ice frowned slightly. "Both of us...made some pretty bad mistakes..."
Indigo held Ice's hand tightly. "And both of you learned from your mistakes. It's no wonder she's so close to you. From what I've seen, you're a good brother Ice." Indigo shared a kiss with Ice.
"Thanks Indigo. You're a pretty awesome girlfriend.", Ice said with a loving smile. Indigo's friends then approached carrying Midnight.
"Hey Indigo! Wanna hear about the time I caught Ice singing in the shower?", Midnight asked with a mischievous smile.
"Midnight don't you dare!", Ice shouted.
"Oh THIS I gotta hear!", Indigo said with a smirk. "Go on..."
Ice screamed as Midnight spilled every embarrassing detail from that moment. "AAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" The Shadow 5 and Midnight couldn't help but laugh at Ice's plight. "Great. Now I've got a NEW mistake to learn from."
The next day, Burst and Moon were resting together in the park. Moon sighed happily as she curled up against Burst. "You know, I think it's these moments that really say a lot." Moon smiled as she looked up at Burst. "Reminds me of when we shared our first kiss."
"Yeah. Moments like these are pretty special.", Burst said with a smile. "Nice and quiet. And just the two of us."
"Maybe we could get a bit...closer.", Moon said with a sultry tone as she took hold of one of Burst's hands.
Burst blushed. "Uh...maybe not..."
Moon pouted. "What's wrong Burst? We've shared a bed together. I thought you'd have no problem getting more intimate."
Burst sighed. "But I've never felt you up before! I...I just don't want to seem like a creep. You're beautiful Moon. But I love you for more than your body. You're incredibly dedicated, and very loving."
Moon smiled at Burst as she got on top of him. "Burst. My beloved...", she moaned. "You truly are special. It's sweet of you to consider my feelings. But remember..." Moon caressed Burst's face. "You belong to me, and I belong to you. So don't be afraid to get a bit more...hands-on." Moon smiled at Burst with lidded eyes. Burst's hands wrapped around Moon's back and began to run them along her body. "Not so bad, right?"
Burst lightly blushed. "You do have a nice body. I guess that's one of the reasons I've been able to sleep so well when we share the bed."
"Maybe tonight I can make our position a bit more intimate." Moon nuzzled Burst's neck before looking him in the eyes. "Burst?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you ever...regret it?"
"What do you mean Moon?"
"Choosing me."
Burst frowned as he cupped Moon's face. "Moon. I don't regret choosing you. I love you." Burst then sighed. "I only regret that between you and Celestia, one of you would walk away hurt. You were alone for over a thousand years back in Equestria. To just leave you alone like that, after how welcome I made you feel...it wouldn't have been right."
Moon smiled, but then noticed something. "Excuse me Burst. There's something I need to take care of. I won't be too long..." Moon got up and walked over to a nearby tree. "You can come on out Celestia. I know you're there."
Celestia stepped out from behind the tree, and looked at Moon. "How did you spot me?"
"I'm the former alicorn of the night. I KNOW when someone's hiding.", Moon answered. "So? Making sure that I'm taking good care of Burst?"
Celestia sighed. "No. I'm watching because I miss him. I miss holding him. Being with him. He gave me happiness no grown man ever gave me." Celestia then began to tear up. "And I gave him up because I thought he needed to mature. That caused him pain no physical wound could ever cause. But ironically, he was the one who was mature with his loss. At night, I can't help but wonder how I messed this up so badly." Celestia held herself. "When I was with him, I felt..."
"...Like everything's all right.", Moon finished. "That's just the kind of person Burst is. But you're not the only one who hurt him. I hurt Burst too. I revived Sombra, and ordered him to keep an eye on Burst and his friends. But I underestimated his thirst for vengeance, and he convinced you to leave Burst. When I first caught sight of Burst, I wanted him solely because of his looks. But over time, I began to see the guy he was. He made me feel like I had a home. Like I didn't have to be alone anymore. Even despite me unintentionally orchestrating his first break-up. Sometimes I wonder if I even deserve Burst." A stray tear fell down Moon's cheek, and she wiped it away. "But whenever moments like that happen, I just look at his smile. It tells me all I need to know. The love he has in his heart knows no limit from what I've seen." Moon then smiled. "Despite both of us hurting him in someway, he holds no animosity towards either of us. In fact, he only regrets the fact that he had to choose between us."
"How do you know that?", Celestia asked.
"He told me earlier.", Moon said with a smile. "If it weren't for me...you two would still be happy together..."
"If Burst and I were still together, you'd still be alone.", Celestia said with a small smile. "You wouldn't have changed. And you wouldn't have the friends you have now. I know that...because I did some growing myself. It's like Burst said. Both of us wanted his love. It was just a question of who needed it. Moon. That was you." Celestia and Moon shared a hug. "If I can't be happy with Burst, I'll at least be happy for him. I wish you two nothing but the best."
"You know, I actually said the same thing to Burst before he made his decision.", Moon said with a smile as she walked back to Burst. "Sorry that took so long." Moon resumed the prior position she was in. "Hope you didn't get lonely."
"So did you and Celestia have a nice talk?"
"How did you know?!"
"I can sense energy. Remember? I could sense her watching us. I hope she finds someone."
"She will Burst. In your famous words: 'No one should have to be alone.'" Burst and Moon smiled lovingly at each other as they continued to hold each other tightly. Celestia watched them with a fond smile as she left.
North had journeyed to Sweet Apple Acres to meet Applejack's family. Needless to say, AJ was pleasantly surprised to see him. "Mornin' North! What brings you here?"
"Simple. I wanted to meet your family.", North said with a family. "That is, if they're not busy at the moment."
"Actually, yer just in time fer breakfast! Hope you like apple cinnamon waffles."
"One of my favorites lass! Lead the way!"
Applejack smiled as she led North inside. "Everyone! Say hi to Magnet North!"
"Call me North for short please.", North said with a polite smile.
"So yer the young fella that's got smitten with Applejack.", Granny Smith said with a smile. "No wonder she's talkin' about you so much! Yer quite the looker and yer a real charmer ta boot!"
"Granny!", Applejack snapped!
Apple Bloom had a contemplative look on her face. "Hmmm. Hey North!"
"Yes? What is it?"
"Are you a prince? Ya look like one out of the old story books Applejack used ta read to me as a little kid."
Applejack went pale for a moment. "Now Apple Bloom. That's mighty rude ta ask!"
North smiled. "That's very nice of you to say. But I'm no royal. It's sweet that you and your big sister are so close."
Apple Bloom beamed. "Thanks!"
Applejack couldn't help but smile. "Well you've already met Granny and Apple Bloom. Then there's mah brother. Big Mac." Applejack pointed to a tall boy who was munching away at his waffles.
"Howdy.", Big Mac said with a smile.
"You're not much of a talker, are you?", North asked.
Big Mac nodded. "Eeeeeyup."
"So, that's mah family. We've been together through thick and thin.", Applejack said with a proud smile as she picked up a photo with her entire family in it. "We're Apples to the core. The reunions are somethin' else with everyone together. We all live far apart, but we're pretty close." North smiled at the picture.
"If yer parents could see you now...", Granny Smith said with a small smile. "You seem like fine young fella North."
North blushed a little. "You flatter me ma'am. But it's you who should be proud. Applejack is a fine girl. And she's part of a good family." North's smile dropped a little. "It was lovely meeting all of you. So, I'll be off." Applejack picked up on North's slight drop in mood, and followed him outside.
"North? Care to explain why you were about to mope back there?"
"It's...nothing important lass."
"Yer a terrible liar.", Applejack said flatly. "Somethin's getting at you. And Ah'm bettin' it's got somethin' to do with your family."
North sighed. "Nothing gets by you lass. Thought that only adds to your charm." North closed his eyes for a moment before addressing Applejack again. "The fact is, I have no family. At least, none I feel a part of."
"Gee. That's mighty awful. Care to elaborate?"
"As you know, I am a prince due to my relation to the king of England. But the rest of my family isn't as closely knit as yours. In fact, they're quite reclusive. The only time they ever got together was with a formal summons from my grandfather the king. But none of them cared to actually socialize with each other, and they usually just bragged over how much wealth they had and whatnot. My cousins were all spoiled brats. So as you see, I never really had much of a family except for my parents. I guess I was a bit jealous of how close your family was in that photo."
"Shoot, sugar cube. You don't have to feel lonesome anymore!"
"What do you mean?"
"Yer datin' me North. That makes you an honorary part of the family. Truth be told...I'm a sucker for guys that can open up like that." Applejack blushed lightly at her ending remark.
"And I like a girl who's genuine like you.", North said as he hugged Applejack tightly. "One kiss before I go?"
Applejack smiled as she kissed North. "Remember. You've always got a home with me. You'll always have a family." North hugged her tightly. "Now come on. Ah'm sure those waffles aren't gonna eat themselves."
Twilight smiled as she and Nightfall headed to the library. "You know, your Cyber Dragon deck is pretty cutting edge."
"Well, I'm the next generation of duelist in my family. I figured I should get a deck that screams next-gen tech.", Night said with a grin. "You're pretty good with Dark Magician Twilight."
Twilight blushed a little. "You know, I'm surprised my big brother didn't try to threaten you. Especially if you consider your mother."
"Me too." Night's smile fell a little. "She wasn't always like that though. I remember times she actually smiled. When my dad was still around, that is."
"Is your Dad...?"
"He's...no longer with us."
"...I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked.", Twilight said as she hung her head in shame.
"You've got nothing to apologize for.", Night said with a small smile. "Besides. Things are getting better for me. My mom is less of a perfectionist and control freak, and I've got a cute girlfriend. So I guess you could say my life got an upgrade!"
Twilight giggled. "You know that joke was too easy, right?"
"I have a robot dragon for a monster partner. Let me have my tech puns!", Night said with a pout.
"Who said I didn't enjoy them?", Twilight said with a smile. "But more importantly, I love our trips to the library."
Night wrapped one of his arms around Twilight. "Nothing like a little peace and quiet with the one you love."
Twilight kissed Night on the cheek before they headed inside the library. "Especially if they're curled up with a good book." The two sat close to each other as they set to reading their respective piles of books.
Veenus, Fang, and Ace were hanging around the Dazzlings. However, Veenus noticed that Adagio seemed to have her mind elsewhere. "Something up?"
Adagio snapped out of her thoughts. "..Nothing important. Just thinking about the beach trip that's coming up. It sounds like fun."
"It's reminding you home. Isn't it?"
Adagio let out a sigh. "Can't hide much from you, can I? Yes. Going to the beach reminds me a lot of our old home back in Equestria."
"But...can't you just go back and visit anytime?", Veenus asked.
All three of the former sirens fell silent before Adagio spoke. "There's no point because there's nothing left for us there anymore. And there's nobody waiting for us."
"But...what about your family?", Ace asked. He then saw Sonata scowling. This was the first time he'd ever seen Sonata ever look angry.
"Like Adagio said. There's nobody waiting for us.", Sonata said flatly. "...No one that cares about us anyway. The second we got caught, they left us to our fate!" Sonata began to tear up. "Our own mother...didn't even lift a fin to try and help us..."
Aria had a pained expression on her face. "So you see, we're in no rush to go back. Here, we have people who care about us." Aria had a small smile as she scratched Fang's ears. "And a family we never had back home. Heh. I can't believe I used to think this world was the worst. Now? It's more of a home than Equestria ever was for us. Plus, no more constant struggle for attention."
"Too true Aria." Adagio then caressed Veenus's face. "Especially since it seems like we've won ourselves quite the trio of devoted fans."
"And yet you still have a total flirt demeanor around me.", Veenus said with a sly smile. "Care to explain?"
"It's quite simple dear. The mannerisms I used during my initial arrival at CHS were to win over the adoration of everyone around me. But now?" Adagio leaned into Veenus's ear and whispered. "Now I live only for yours. Those who truly adore you stay with you no matter what. A quality I tend to find very attractive."
"That, or you like teasing the poor guy.", Aria said with a smirk.
"Maybe I just enjoy making him feel wanted.", Adagio shot back. "But who am I to say anything? All you need is a leash, and your boyfriend is literally your pet."
Fang and Veenus just chuckled at the two going back and forth. Sonata shook her head as she snuggled up to Ace. "I should've figured this would happen. I don't like it, but I can't look away."
"It is kind of fun seeing those two go at it.", Ace said with a nod. "Just wish we had popcorn for this moment." Pinkie then popped out of nowhere, and handed them a bowl of popcorn. Ace and Sonata took a moment to take in what happened, and shrugged as they munched away watching Adagio and Aria going back and forth.
"So it looks like we're finally having a REAL break from all the excitement.", Starlight said with a smile.
"Yeah." Shadow breathed a sigh of relief. "Sombra. Tirek. Paradox. Camp Everfree. But worst of all was Blitz." Shadow shivered. "Even if it's for just a little while, at least we've got a few moments of peace."
"Can't argue with that logic." Starlight's mind then drifted to her own journey. "So much has happened to me in such a short time. I got manipulated by a powerful evil sorcerer, I got a boyfriend, and I got a brand new deck."
"And I was with you every step of the way. Like your Shadow."
"...You've been waiting to say a line like that for a while. Haven't you?", Starlight asked with a smirk.
"Hey. Someone's gotta come up with some kind of romantic phrase for our relationship."
Starlight winked. "I didn't say it wasn't good. And, it's kind of true. You're always with me, and I've never been apart from you for long. You even rushed in to save me from Paradox's lair. That one was pretty stupid. But also very sweet..." Starlight kissed Shadow on the cheek. "And it'll be my turn to surprise you at the beach trip."
"Oh really? How's that?", Shadow asked with a smile.
Starlight giggled playfully. "Let's just say you'll be seeing stars when you see my swimsuit."
"Any details I should know?"
"Nope!"
"What?! Come on Star! At least give me a hint!"
"You're just going to have to wait.", Starlight said with a smirk. "Unless you're desperate enough to follow me into a changing room."
Shadow frowned. "Oh now you're just playing dirty Star!"
"I gotta keep you guessing you somehow.", Starlight said with a giggle. "Wouldn't be much fun if I gave away everything, now would it? I thought a guy named Shadow would be good at keeping secrets."
Shadow sighed. "Fine. You win. Plus, you are someone worth waiting for. I was the last of my friends to get a girlfriend. And all that waiting paid off when I met you."
"Like I said. You're sweet Shadow.", Starlight said with a loving smile. "Now come on. All that sweet talk has got me craving a soda!"
"...And then I whipped out Rainbow Dragon and scored the final attack! Pretty awesome right?", Rainbow Dash boasted to Steel. But to Rainbow's shock, Steel's mind seemed to be elsewhere. Rainbow pouted as she knocked on his forehead. "Yo! Earth to Steel! You still with us?"
Steel shook his head. "Yeah. Sorry Dash. I was just thinking. That's all."
"Huh. What's got you so down?"
"The fact I'm so lame.", Steel said with a sigh.
"WHAT?! That's not true Steel! You're a great duelist! You even give me a run for my money!"
"Yeah. And despite that fact, I've always been on the sidelines. I haven't been a major player in ANY of the adventures you guys have had! And now? Now we've also got a villain still on the loose planning who knows what!"
"Steel. Listen. Whenever Blitz DOES return, we'll all face it together. I know it sucks being on the sidelines. But a pretty smart guy told me that if you just rush in, you're asking to wind up in the hospital. And I'm looking at that guy right now. Steel...ugh! This is so hard to say without being mushy!" Rainbow sighed. "Look. The point is, you gotta loosen up a bit! We've gone through a bunch of crazy battles and saved the world! So shut up and relax soldier boy!" Rainbow Dash pouted for emphasis.
Steel blinked before cracking a small smile. "I guess you could use a few chill pills yourself dragon girl. Then again, you are pretty cute when you get all flustered like that."
Rainbow Dash blushed! "Sh-shut up! Idiot." Rainbow then blushed even harder when Steel snapped a picture! "Wha-what did you just do Steel?! Who did you send that picture to?!"
Steel chuckled. "Oh, nothing. Just starting a new meme: Angry Dash is cutest Dash. Sounds nice don't you think?" As Rainbow began to fume, Steel got up and calmly walked away. "3...2..."
"STEEEEELLLL!"
"...1." Steel ran away smiling as Rainbow dash sped after him. I can't deny. She really DOES look pretty cute when she's mad. And here I am risking getting mauled by her to bring out that adorableness. Worth it. Steel just kept on running with a smile on his face with Rainbow close behind him. As she ran after him, one thought was running through Rainbow's head.
Sunset was a bit puzzled. Gold was being a bit clingy today. More so than he had been on their previous dates. "Hey Gold? Are you alright? You're holding me pretty tight."
Gold sighed. "I guess there's no use hiding it. But why don't you use your new powers to see what's going on." Sunset placed her hand on Gold, and her geode necklace glowed as she used her telepathic empathy. Sunset saw Gold's past, and how everypony had refused him shelter simply because he was different. Then she saw his journey to the human world, and his trial in Paradox's lair. She saw Gold literally sinking in despair, but he managed to snap out of it. However, she also saw Gold shivering from the painful memories. He was all alone. Sunset was shocked! "That bad, huh?"
"Gold...why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell Pegasus? Why didn't you tell any of us?!"
"Does it really matter?", Gold asked with a frown. "I have you, a loving adopted father, and all the friends I could ever want."
"That's not the point! Gold, if you were feeling so lonely you should've told us! You're not alone anymore! That means you don't need to handle things on your own!"
"You don't understand..."
"Then explain!"
"BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO BE EVERYONE'S BURDEN!", Gold yelled! "Don't you get it?! If everyone else spends their time trying to lift my spirits, to make me feel better, it'll just weigh everyone down! How can anyone rise to the occasion if I'm weighing them down?! That's why I've kept this to myself. If I can just learn to move on by myself, I'll come out stronger..." Sunset slapped Gold!
"Are you crazy?! Gold, dealing with this alone isn't going to make you stronger! It's just proving how scared you really are!" Sunset then frowned. "How lonely you really are..." Sunset then took Gold's hand. "Every bad guy we've fought, we've faced together! Don't you understand?! If you keep your problems to yourself, you'll never truly rise yourself. We're all here for you Gold. I'm here..." Sunset pulled Gold into a tight hug. "And nothing in this world's going to take me from your side. You helped me stand again. Let me help you." Gold was speechless, and tears fell down his face as he returned the hug. "Let the sun set on that chapter of your life."
"Th-Thank you..." Gold sobbed as he held Sunset tight. Sunset smiled as she continued to hold onto Gold. "I'm so stupid! I don't deserve my dad! I don't deserve my friends! I don't deserve you..." Sunset then cupped Gold's head in her hands.
"No. You do. More than you'll ever know. You've been there for me even when everyone saw fit to hate me. When I was all alone. Now it's my turn to return the favor. Let me be there for you.", Sunset said with a loving smile. Gold managed a smile despite his teary eyes, and brought his face closer to Sunset's. The two shared a kiss. "Besides. I can't have you moping about on the beach trip. I'm sure the sight of my swimsuit oughta brighten up your day." Sunset winked, and Gold blushed!
"But you look most beautiful during the sunset.", Gold replied. "Come on. We'd better get to the movies soon." The sun shone brightly. "It's a beautiful day. And I'd hate to spend it sad."
Inferno and Rarity were enjoying lunch together, but Inferno noticed something was occupying Rarity's attention. Namely him. "Rarity? Are you alright? Isn't a lady not supposed to stare?"
"Oh! Sorry darling!", Rarity said with a blush. "I was just...envisioning something magnificent."
"Oh really?", Inferno asked with a playful smirk. "And just what sight with me in it got you daydreaming?"
"The sight of you...shirtless. At the coming beach trip. But surely you've been picturing me in my swimsuit as well?"
"To be honest? I haven't.", Inferno answered as he took a sip of his soda.
"...Excuse me?"
Inferno chuckled at Rarity's reaction. "Oh, Rarity. You don't need to show off to get me thinking about you." Inferno then brought his face closer to Rarity's. "A truly beautiful women doesn't need to do anything to get her boyfriend to think about her. Expecially when your beauty runs far beneath your skin. Your heart shines like a diamond. Why else do you think I've taken to calling you my treasure?"
Rarity's face was almost completely red! "...Inferno..." Rarity then grasped the sides of Inferno's face. "Enough sweet talk." Rarity pulled Inferno into a passionate kiss! "You, my handsome dragon, are my treasure as well. I've never found one who ignites my passions such as you. And the fire in your heart burns brightest whenever you duel or you play guitar."
Inferno smiled. "Maybe one of these dates, I'll give you a private concert."
"Only if you let me do a exclusive modelling for you.", Rarity said with a playful smile. "But we can't very well continue our date on empty stomachs." The two continued to enjoy each other's company as their date continued. As they left, Inferno took Rarity's hand as they walked. "I take it you don't plan on letting go?"
"At least not until we get to your house safely. A dragon's got to protect his treasure, right?"
Rarity smiled as she kissed Inferno on the cheek. "Then it's a good thing there's no one I'd rather belong to."
In a world similar to the one Burst and his friends live in, and yet different at the same time...
Sombra was moping about Discord's carp shop. It had only been a few months since he and the others had stopped Burst from unleashing his ultimate beast. But there was something missing from his life. Sombra looked out the window and sighed. He was a grown man, and he STILL hadn't found a girlfriend yet. Sure there was Chrysalis, but she was more of a friend than a romantic interest. His thoughts then turned to Celestia. She was so beautiful, but she was also unobtainable. Especially when Sombra considered the fact she was an utterly vile woman who was determined to maintain the reputation of Canterlot Academy. Sombra sighed. Great. My friends and I save the world, but I don't get the girl. Sombra then saw a young man with light grey skin and white hair approaching him.
"Something the matter Sombra?", Blitz asked.
"Nothing Blitz. It's just, after we destroyed Burst and his cronies I'd not given much thought as to what happens next. But now that I do have an idea, I realize just how unrealistic it is."
"Come on. It can't be that bad."
Sombra sighed. "I need a girlfriend. But at the moment, the only woman I can think is unfortunately an utterly vile witch. If only there was a version of Celestia that I'd want to meet." Sombra then placed his hand on the window of Discord's card shop.
The world we know...
Celestia sighed. It had been no more than a few days since she'd seen Burst and Moon together, and memories of her time with him still stung her heart. I am truly happy for them. But some part of me... Celestia put her hands over her heart. ...Part of me still wishes I was holding him. Someone like Burst is incredibly rare. Just having someone who comes close to him...that's all I could ever want. Celestia looked at a poster of Blue-Eyes in the window of Discord's card shop, and put her hand on it. "If only there was someone else like him."
Mirror World....
Sombra had a small smile on his face. "Someone...."
On both sides of the mirror, the two lonely hearts spoke. "...Who mirrors my heart." A glowing vortex opened up, and Sombra back peddled! "Okay....I did NOT expect that!"
"Looks like your wish just got granted Sombra.", Blitz said with a small smile. "Go. I'll tell the others."
"...Here goes nothing...." Sombra walked through the vortex, and found himself in a world that looked very similar. And he found himself staring at a very familiar woman. Celestia was shocked. There was no way he could still be alive! And yet, here he was! The same man who had ruined her happiness with Burst! So she did the only logical thing. She punched his lights out and dialed up someone who had experience dealing with him.
"Burst? I've got something you should take a look at. Don't worry. I've got it handled at the moment." Celestia hung up and carried Sombra to her car. As she carried him, she couldn't help but notice this Sombra had a much neater appearance. "Let's fidn out if you're who we think you are."
Sombra came to, and freaked out when he saw a VERY upset Celestia staring him down as he was tied up. "Um....I come in peace?"
"Even your voice sounds different from his.", Celestia said with a frown.
"Um...can I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"Are you...Celestia?"
"Yes. I am Celestia. Principal of Canterlot High School. And you're Sombra. Or at least, you look like him. But why're you confused as to who I am? Is it because you walked out of that mirror?"
"Yeah. Let's just say my world's version of you isn't all that nice."
"Regardless, you still look a lot like the man who ruined my relationship with my last boyfriend."
"Gee. I guess my counterpart was a Grade-A scumbag. Well, whoever your ex is, I hope I can apologize to him."
"Burst Stream is on his way. You can apologize once he's here."
Sombra froze. Back in his world, Burst Stream was a ruthless duelist who annihilated anyone who stood against him. Despite his young appearance, his world's Burst Stream was vicious in his pursuit of conquest. But then again, Sombra wasn't in his own world anymore. If anything, this world's Burst was probably the nicest guy on the face of the planet. Despite that fact, he might still punch me. Well, I guess that can't be avoided... Sombra's head perked up when he saw Burst in front of him. Instead of the black skin the Burst from his world had, this one's was almost pure white. And instead of the cruel azure eyes, this world's Burst's were sapphire. "Um...greetings from the mirror world?"
Burst took a good look at Sombra. "Hmmm." Burst then poked Mirror Sombra's face. "Okay. Now I just need to take a look at your ace card." Celestia untied Sombra, and he showed Burst his monster partner. "Huh. ARCHLORD Zorc. Yup. This guy's from a mirror world. Gotta say. You look a lot more regal than your counterpart."
"Well, my nickname in the world of dueling is 'The King'", Mirror Sombra said with a chuckle. "Hey. If my counterpart gave you any trouble..."
"He can't cause anymore." Burst then clenched his fist. "I made sure of that."
"Soooo, you're not gonna punch my lights out?", Sombra asked nervously.
"No. But I'll leave you in Celestia's watch.", Burst said with a nod. "Please try not to destroy him." Burst left, and Celestia and Sombra were alone. The two of them were simply staring at each other.
"So...what was my counterpart like?", Mirror Sombra asked.
Celestia sighed. "He was incredibly suave, and quite the charmer. However, he was also quite vengeful. He stole me away from Burst while we were still dating. He played on my insecurities. Said that Burst needed to 'mature'. And like and idiot, I believed every word he said. It cost me the best thing to ever happen. And now that I'm looking at you, I can't help but be reminded of him." Celestia began to tear up. "But what makes this so difficult is that you have the same face, and yet you're nothing like him. It's not fair to judge you based on sharing his face. Also, you didn't judge me becaused I shared the face of your world's Celestia."
"Great. I cause all this trouble, and I'm not even responsible!", Sombra groaned. "And to think I'm only here because I wanted a girlfriend."
Celestia managed a small smile. "I guess fate might've brought us to this moment. You may have our Sombra's face, but you have Burst's heart. The same heart that full of love. The two of you share the same smile."
"Well...if you're still available...how about I make up for my counterpart's actions with a date?"
Celestia blushed! "Um...if it's not too much trouble, sure!" At that moment, both were thinking the same thing.
Just a few moments ago, this woman had me tied to a chair. And technically, it's all my fault. But from the sound of my counterpart, I can't blame her. I can't imagine ever going through hearbreak like that and by such an underhanded tactic. Then again, I've never had a girlfriend before., Mirror Sombra thought as he walked with Celestia. "So, uh, where did you feel like going?"
"I was thinking nothing too advanced. Does Sugar Cube Corner sound good?"
"Perfect!" Good! Starting simple. I hope I don't screw this up... Sombra held the door for Celestia. "Ladies first."
"How sweet of you..."
Sombra pouted. "That was too easy!"
"Maybe. But you've got a lot to make up for on behalf of your counterpart.", Celestia said with a playful smirk.
"I guess. But what else am I going to have to do to make up for my counterpart's actions?"
"You can relax. I'm not the vengeful type. Your counterpart didn't make it THAT far with me. So you don't have that much to make up for. No need to freak out.", Celestia said with a kind smile.
"That's awfully kind of you.", Sombra said with a smile. "So...what other items are on the to-do list?"
"Besides this date, there's one thing. I'll tell you where and when that thing is."
"Come on! A hint? Please?"
Celestia giggled. "Nope. Now it's cake time." The two enjoyed their sweets, and were soon on the move again. "I'd like to head home now. If you don't wind walking me all the way back that is."
Sombra blinks before offering her his back. "I'm no duel monster, but I think this should serve as one of the items on the to-do list."
Celestia blinked and smiled. "The Sombra I knew would never do something that sweet. Maybe...you're not so bad after all." Sombra lifted Celestia onto his back and carried her. As he walked, Celestia frowned. "...I'm sorry."
"For what?", Sombra asked.
"For being so hard on you just because you shared the face of an old enemy. I was probably no better than your world's me." Celestia was surprised when Sombra set her down and gripped her shoulders!
"Don't you DARE compare yourself to her!", Sombra said as his eyes teared up. "From what I've seen, you're NOTHING like that vile witch! You've been kind to me even if my face reminds you of someone who caused you so much trouble." Sombra managed a smile. "So please...don't hate yourself. Sure. Mistakes were made. But who knows? Maybe they were meant to happen. From then on, you've walked out stronger. So that maybe...I could find you. My wish before I came to this world was for one who mirrored my heart. And when I think of that, all I see is you. So I guess what I'm trying to say is...will you be my heart's reflection?"
Celestia's heart was pounding as she blushed. "I will. But first, it's time for that item I was talking about."
"Name it. Anything!"
"...Kiss me."
Sombra was puzzled. "Is...is that all?"
Celestia nodded. "The Sombra of this world's kiss felt oily, and dark. But since you're different...I'd like to know what your kiss is like." Celestia cupped Sombra's face in her hands.
"...You need only ask, my princess." Sombra planted his lips on hers. The two didn't part until a full minute had gone by.
"...That was so sweet.", Celestia said with a blissful smile. "I'll gladly be your heart's mirror."
Sombra and Celestia were crying happy tears. "...Then I'll be the mirror to your heart as well." The two shared a tight embrace. "So...when can I see you again?"
Celestia smiled. "Moon told me about a beach trip she and the others had planned. I think that's be a good time."
"That's perfect!", Sombra cheered! "I guess I'll see you then!" Sombra was about to race off for home when realized something. "Uh oh! I'm a permanent resident of this world now! That means I've got no home here!"
"In that case, how about I fix that? My house has an extra room, and I'd be more than happy to help you obtain some extra garments."
"Celestia...are you offering me a stay at your place?"
"If Moon and Burst can share a house, I don't see why we can't.", Celestia answered with a warm smile. "Come on. Let's head home. And this time, don't worry about carrying me." As they walked, Sombra latched his hand onto Celestia's. She didn't mind in the least, and smiled. "It looks like I've found the one who mirrors my heart too."
Burst woke with a smile. He got up, and stretched before taking a deep breath as he gazed at the morning sky. "Today's the day." Burst smiled as he turned his gaze to Moon's still sleeping form. Burst walked over and gently nudged her. "Wakey, wakey sleeping beauty." Moon stirred as she opened her eyes. Burst smiled as her cat-like eyes fell upon him.
"Mmmmm. How wonderful. It's rare a girl can wake up to her personal alarm clock." Moon then had a cheerful smile on her face. "I had trouble staying asleep last night! Today's going to be my first day at the beach!" Moon leaped out of bed as she began to pack her beach bag.
"Heh heh! Glad to hear you're excited! Gold said he'll be pulling up within the hour. Also, guys and girls will be going in separate vehicles."
Moon pouted. "I was hoping I'd get to snuggle against you during the drive."
"Hey. You'll get your chance for contact at the beach. Besides..." Burst blushed. "...I can't wait to see you once you're fully decked out for the beach."
Moon smiled as she kissed Burst. "And I can't wait to see you shirtless for a good period of time." The two ate breakfast, and got dressed. Gold soon pulled up with two vans.
"Hey you two! You gonna keep us waiting?", Gold called out. Burst smiled as he got in with the guys while Moon went with the girls. "So Moon sure seems to be happy."
"Yeah. It's her first time at the beach.", Burst said with a smile.
"Looks like we'll all be in for quite the sight.", Inferno said with a nod. "Let's not forget, all of us are going to be with our respective girlfriends. Any of you guys got specific plans? I'm gonna spend some time with Rarity."
"Something tells me Dash is going to have us compete in a volleyball match.", Steel replied. "Don't know how she'll set up the teams thoguht. Here's hoping it's not boys against girls. As cute as she is when she's mad, I still can't stand seeing her hate me."
"Sonata and her sisters were thinking of going for a swim. Fang, Veenus, and me were thinking of joining them.", Ace added.
"Fluttershy said she was interested in getting a look at some of the crabs. I thought I'd also help her pick out sea shells.", Tyrannus said with a smile.
"Twilight and I are probably going to have our noses in books.", Nightfall said with a bashful smile.
"Hey. You do you man. Pinkie and I are probably going to get the surprise we have ready.", Akage said with a nod.
"I'll be helping Applejack with the food.", North said with a smile. "The lass always appreciates an extra set of hands."
"Looks like we'll all be pretty busy today.", Burst said with a chuckle. The two groups soon arrived at the beach. "Well. No sense in delaying!" Everyone got to work setting up their areas. When the girls got out, all the guys had one thought running through their heads.
How'd we get this lucky?
The girls smiled at the guys admiring them. "So? You think our swimsuits are doing their job?", Moon asked with a playful smile.
"If we've already got them speechless, I'd say they're working.", Sunset said with a shrug.
Moon giggled. "In that case, I think I'll have some fun with my beloved." Moon walked over to Burst with her hips swaying. "Burst? You wouldn't mind helping me out with my sunblock, would you?"
Burst smiled. "Not at all." The other guys' jaws dropped when they heard how casually Burst replied!
"Dude! Your girlfriend is an ex-princess! Shouldn't you be a bit more dignified?!", Inferno blurted out.
"My, my. I see why Rarity likes you so much. Despite your rocker nature, you're incredibly well-mannered.", Moon said with a smile. "And emphasis on the word 'ex-princess." Anyone can be as casual around me as they please. Don't keep me waiting Burst." Burst followed Moon, and instantly set to work applying sunblock to Moon's back. "Mmmmhhh. Please. Take your time getting it in good."
Burst smiled. "Will do. Just a few more seconds...there! You're all good! Now the real fun can begin!" Burst was about to make a break for the water when Moon grabbed his arm. "Huh?"
"Not so fast." Moon smiled playfully. "I want to return the favor. You don't mind, do you?"
"Heh. Rub away.", Burst said with a loving smile. Moon smiled as she applied sunblock to his back. "Wow. You're hands feel pretty good."
"And it's about to get better..." Moon then pressed her body against Burst, and then drapedher arms over his shoulders. "How's this?"
"It's...like when we sleep together..." Burst smiled as he grabbed hold of Moon's arms. "It feels warm. Kind of like I'm sinking into a pillow. I guess after today, you could say I don't have that much to imagine. But you're already the girl of my dreams."
Moon smiled lovingly as she kissed Burst. "My beloved. You make an excellent pillow. Now let's hit the water!" Moon leaped to her feet. "Hope you're not afraid to get wet!" Burst and Moon made a break for the water, and began splashing each other! "Heh heh! Is that all you've got? I was expecting a much larger splash!"
Burst laughed. "Oh, trust me! I'm just getting started!"
"Well, I'd say those two have got the right idea!", Inferno said with a chuckle! "C'mon! Time for some fun!" Inferno ran up to Rarity. "So? Want me to be your shade boy?"
Rarity giggled. "How charming of you. No need for a parasol. Your wings shall be more than enough." Inferno summoned his wings and shielded Rarity from the sun. "Thank you darling. Shall we take a stroll?"
Inferno took her by the hand. "It'd be my honor." As the two strolled, Fluttershy walked over to Tyrannus.
"So Ty? Ready to help me find some sea shells?"
Tyrannus offered Fluttershy his back, and smiled at her. "All aboard." Fluttershy blushed happily as she climbed onto Tyrannus's back. The two walked along the shore. Tyrannus set Fluttershy down whenever she saw a seashell that caught her eye. Tyrannus managed to pick out a shell or two himself. "Having fun?"
"Oh yes! It's very nice being here with you. And...it's very nice of you to carry me so much."
"Hey, it's no problem.", Tyrannus said with a smile. "You can always count on me to pick you up."
Fluttershy blushed as she tackled Tyrannus to the ground and kissed him! "Thank you so much..."
Tyrannus closed his eyes and smiled as he hugged her. "You're welcome Fluttershy."
Rainbow Dash scratched her head. "Darn. I didn't expect to get a shot of cuteness overload today."
"Dash? Don't we have more pressing matters?", Steel asked with a smirk.
Rainbow Dash returned the smirk with one of her own. "Oh, heck yeah! Everyone gather around!" As soon as everyone gathered, Rainbow addressed them once again. "Alright! Listen up! I've got an EPIC game of volleyball planned! Here's how it's gonna go! It'll be couples against couples! Me and Steel will be one team, and Sunset and Gold will be the other! Each of us gets to pick a couple to help us out!"
"Sounds like fun Rainbow Dash.", Sunset said with a smile. "Hope you don't mind, but I'll take the first pick. I choose...Burst and Moon."
"Then I get Tyrannus and Fluttershy."
Sunset contemplated her next decision. "Next up for us should be...Twilight and Nightfall."
"I'm taking Inferno and Rarity then!", Rainbow boasted.
"Then I guess we'll take Veenus and Adagio next.", Sunset said with a smile.
Rainbow grinned. "Next I'm going with Akage and Pinkie!"
Sunset nodded. "We'll take Shadow and Starlight."
"Aria and Fang are with us then!", Steel said with a smile.
Gold chuckled. "In that case, we'll take Applejack and North."
Rainbow pouted. "That means we get Ace and Sonta. So both of us have got even teams! But who's gonna keep score?"
"Maybe we can help?", Celestia asked with a warm smile as she and Sombra arrived. "Also, how about we set some more ground rules?"
"What'd you have in mind?", Sombra asked.
Celestia smiled. "Simple. No powers!"
"Aw man! And I wanted to pull off an awesome hit with my wings!", Rainbow groaned.
"She's got a point Dash. Wouldn't be much of a close game with us using our powers. It'd be more like a battle. Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt now would we?"
"Yeah. It's no fun if somebody walks away from today hurt. Now let's play!" Both teams assembled on their respective sides of the net and made game plans. Soon, both teams were staring each other down. Rainbow's team made the first serve! The ball was sent flying into the air, and came flying down with great force!
"I got it!", Burst called out as he jumped and sent the ball flying back! "Right back at ya!"
The ball was flying in Fluttershy's direction, but Tyrannus blocked it and passed it over to Fang who headbutted it! Applejack ran as the ball began to fall on their side of the net, and spiked it as hard as she could! Ace and Sonata sent the ball flying back as they hit it back at the same time!
"Time to mark this package return to sender!", Shadow boasted as he ran over to the ball! But he tripped and fell flat on his face! Starlight winced as his face hit the sand!
"Here goes...nothing!" Starlight hit the ball back as hard as she could! As the ball flew over the net, Rarity caught it and passed it to Inferno! Inferno then sent the ball back as hard as he could! Burst leaped into the air in an attempt to intercept, but he missed!
"You can leave this one to me!", Moon cried out as she sent the ball flying back! Aria and Fang were in the ball's path, and were knocked back a little by the force of the strike!
"This is probably the most intense game of catch you've ever played.", Aria joked.
"....I was BORN for this moment.", Fang said with a determined gaze as he served the ball!
"My turn!", Rainbow boasted as she sent the ball flying over the other team's net!
"I don't think so!", Sunset cried out as she and Gold pushed the ball back together! Steel sent the ball flying back! Night and Twilight scrambled to keep the ball in the air, and passed it to Adagio and Veenus! Veenus spiked the ball into the air, and Adagio sent it flying over the net!
"And all this is WITHOUT their powers?", Sombra asked.
Celestia nodded. "Yes. They've been training with special weapons called Duelist Arms. So they've been able to strengthen their physical abilities as well. This is getting to be pretty exciting."
"Almost as exciting as when your sister cornered me last night." Sombra shivered at the memory.
Last night
Celestia had revealed him to Luna. While all three of them were together, Luna acted quite cheerful. But when Celestia left, Luna's gaze turned cold. "I know you're not the same creep who messed with Tia's heart, but you still share his face. So I'll give you this one promise." Luna put her face so close to Sombra so that it was as if her eyes were piercing his soul. "If you ever break her heart, I'll break YOU."
"Luna? Is everything alright?", Celestia called out.
"It's all good Tia!", Luna called out happily before turning her head back to Sombra. "Do. You. Understand?"
Sombra gulped. "Y-Yes ma'am!"
Luna beamed. "Good! Now come on! Tia wants to celebrate with ice cream!"
Note to self: NEVER make Luna angry!, Sombra thought to himself as his mind returned to the present. "Anyway, things are looking pretty even between the two of them. They're still going at it pretty hard! Do you think we're going to have a sudden death round?"
"I think that's the only way for either team to win at this point." Celestia and Sombra called out the sudden death rules. "The first team to score a point wins the game!" Both teams waited with their hands twitching as Celestia tossed the ball into the air! Rainbow jumped, and sent the ball flying over the net! Both teams began a desparate struggle to keep the ball in the air and send it hurtling to the ground on the other's side! Neither side was holding anything back!
Man! This is WAY more fun that letting loose with our powers! But I'm gettin' hungry!, Rainbow thought. Gotta end this with one final spike! Rainbow leaped into the air, but her grumbling stomach sent her falling onto the sand! "Aw man! Not now!" The ball went flying at Fluttershy who smacked it away as hard as she could! It came down so hard it almost made a crate in the sand! When Fluttershy opened her eyes, she found the ball resting on the ground on the other team's side of the net.
"Um...yay?", Fluttershy asked nervously as she was hoisted up by her team!
"AWESOME! Now how about we celebrate with some lunch?", Rainbow Dash cheered! As the others went off to eat, Fang met with Veenus and Ace.
"The plan's all set! Get our girls!" Fang turned into his puppy form, and began to bark at a specific spot! Ace and Veenus came with Sonata, Aria, and Adagio in tow. "I found something!" Fang then dug in the sand, and pulled up a small box. Ace and Veenus opened up the box, and presented the contents to their girlfriends.
"Here Sonata.", Ace said with a smile as he handed her a necklace with a single blue pearl.
"For you my rose.", Veenus said with a loving smile as he presented a necklace with an orange pearl to Adagio. "A little piece of home you can take with you."
Fang scampered over to Aria with his tail wagging and the carrying the necklace in his mouth in puppy form. Fang smiled as he presented Aria with the purple pearl necklace. Aria teared up as she hugged Fang tightly as he returned to his normal form. "Good boy Fang." Fang wagged his tail happily at her compliment. Then his stomach grumbled. Aria giggled. "Come on. I'm sure you're dying for a burger." Fang nodded.
"Burger, here I come!" Fang and the other rejoined the group, and got their lunch ready.
"Ah'm glad you could help me out with the cooking North! You sure know your way around food!", Applejack said with a smile.
"It was also nice of your granny to prepare the patties and hot dogs we needed. We should have some extra let over. Should make for a tasty snack for later! Hope you brought enough fizzy apple cider for everyone!"
Applejack chuckled. "Sugar cube, I brought two whole coolers!" Applejack popped off the cooler lids as each of the friends grabbed a bottle.
"Here's to the best spring break ever!", Burst declared as he raised his bottle!
"Best break ever!" Everyone cheered! As the group let their stomachs settle, Sunset had an idea.
"Hey. I've got an important question. We're all in pretty good relationships so far. But I've gotta wonder, who would any of us date if we were still single?"
Adagio smirked. "That's easy for me. If none of the guys met you, I'd have a whole harem with all of them. You're all quite lucky that Veenus is more than enough for me. I used to live for everyone's attention. Now I only live for his." Adagio carressed Veenus's face lovingly.
"I wouldn't give Rarity up for anything!", Inferno said proudly!
"I hope you don't mind me saying this darling, but if I could, I'd have you AND Burst. The two of you are quite dashing, and the two of you would be my dragon knights!" Rarity blushed at her fantasy. "Oooohhh~!" Rarity then fainted, but Inferno caught her. "But no one quites light my passion like you darling! I can always count on you to catch me."
Burst chuckled. "If it were up to me...well...I'd probably have both Celestia and Moon." Moon then grasped Burst's hand as she looked into his eyes.
"And there's no one else I'd rather share you with. That is, if she wasn't so happy with Sombra's mirror counterpart."
"Who knows? Maybe I had to leave Burst so I could find him.", Celestia said with a loving smile as Sombra held her close.
"Well, I don't know about everyone else, but I'm sticking with Steel!", Rainbow Dash declared proudly!
"I think the rest of us wouldn't choose anyone else.", Ace said with a smile as he gazed at Sonata sleeping on his arm. Aria smiled as Fang lay in her lap in puppy form while Veenus and Adagio snuggled up to each other. "We've all found someone to love." Fluttershy was cozying up to Tyrannus, Pinkie was hugging Akage tightly, Sunset and Gold were watching the waves, Shadow and Starlight were enjoying their bottles of fizzy cider, Inferno and Rarity were holding each other, Rainbow and Steel were arm wrestling, Applejack and North were just lying down as the sun hit them, Night and Twilight were curled up with their books, and Burst and Moon were just enjoying each other's company.
"Yeah...", Burst said with a smile. "Moments like these are all worth it."
Moon sighed happily as she hugged Burst tightly will gazing into his eyes. "You know what would make this day really sweet?"
"What's that?"
"SURPRISE!", Pinkie shouted as she brought out a full-on sundae bar! "Wouldn't be much of a beach trip without ice cream! Akage helped me hide this just for today!"
Akage blushed. "Well, I AM good at hiding things! I figured I could help Pinkie with this little surprise. I suggest you all get your sundaes ready before Pinkie devours all the toppings and ice cream." Akage then looked at Pinkie as she began to drool. "I don't think I'll be able to hold her for long!" The others made a mad dash for the sundae bar before Pinkie could wriggle out of Akage's grip! As soon as the others were done getting their sundaes, Pinkie scrambeled to the sundae bar and got the biggest scoop of ice cream possible! She then showered it with chocolate syrup and sprikles before digging in! Akage smiled as she ate away. "That's our Pinkie. And we wouldn't want her any other way." Akage then walked over to her. "Pinkie? You've got a little something on your face."
"Huh? Where?!"
"Right about..." Akage then put his face close to Pinkie. "...Here." Akage shared a kiss with Pinkie. Pinkie giggled as Akage soon broke the kiss. "Glad I could make you smile." As the couples enjoyed their time with each other, Adagio had an idea.
"Hey Sunset.", she said with hre trademark smirk. "I know we're all happy with our relationships, but that got me thinking."
"Of what?", Sunset asked.
Adagio smiled. "What parts of us do our boyfriends like best about us?" All the guys and girls were flushed red save for Adagio and Veenus. "So Veenus, dear? What part of me do you like best?"
Veenus gave her a flirty smile. "To be honest, you've got a lovely set of hips. You always sway them so confidently. It's almost hypnotic. They also give me something to hold close. Like this..." Veenus pulled Adagio in close.
"I guess it's my turn.", Sunset said with a sigh. "What do you like about my body Gold?"
Gold blushed! "Well...it's your hair. It looks just like your namesake. There's no more beautiful than a sunset." Sunset smiled as she kissed Gold on the cheek.
"W-Well Ty? What parts do you like about me?", Fluttershy asked nervously.
Tyrannus smiled as he pulled her close. "Those eyes of yours. They're so clear." Fluttershy blushed as she smiled and nestled her head against Tyrannus's chest.
"So Ace? What do you like best about me?", Sonata asked.
"Well...I can't say much aside from the fact you're every cute anime girl rolled into one.", Ace said with a blush. Sonata squealed with joy as she takcled Ace to the ground with a hug! "And now this has become a running gag."
Aria looked down to Fang who was gazing at her from her lap. "Anything you like about me in particular Fang?"
"Well, you've got a nice smile. Even if it is pretty rare..." Fang blushed as Aria kissed him on his ear.
"Thanks.", Aria said with a small smile.
"Well darling?", Rarity asked as she struck a pose. "Any specifics?"
"You've got a lovely figure Rarity. No wonder you're able to model some of your own works.", Inferno said with a grin. "And your swimsuit really shows that off." Rarity smiled as she kissed Inferno.
"Oh! Me next!", Pinkie chirped! "So Akage? What about me?"
"Your laugh is nice.", Akage said with a smile. "No one can really stay in a bad mood for long with you around." Pinkie then pulled Akage into a tight hug! "And then there's your hugs."
"In my case, I'd say the nerdy charm Twilight has.", Night said with a smile. Twilight blushed as she held his hand. "It's pretty cute."
"Not much to say for Dash except her awesomeness.", Steel said with a shrug.
"Come on! As if there needs to be anything else!", Rainbow boasted.
"...And she's got a great butt.", Steel said with a smirk. Rainbow Dash blushed furiously! "All that time training paid off."
Shadow looked to Starlight. "Well Star, you've got a nice smile." Starlight smiled to prove the point.
North turned to Applejack. "Well lass, I'd say I'm quite fond of your muscular build. You certainly know how to make strength look beautiful."
Applejack smiled. "C'mere sugar cube." She pulled North into a hug as she kissed him. "I love it when a guy is honest with his sweet talk."
"I say we leave these young couples to their game.", Celestia said with a smile. "You don't need to say a thing about what you like about me. Today was lovely. See you all after break!"
"Well, there's nothing needs to be said.", Sombra said with a fond smile as he and Celestia left.
Moon crawled up to Burst and gave him a seductive smile. "Well Burst?", she purred as she draped herself over him. "Which parts of me do you like best?" Moon ran one of her hands along her body.
Burst blushed a little. "To be honest...I can't pick one part. But...your voice is pretty sexy. Your eyes are quite enchanting. But in terms of your body, is everything an option?"
Moon blinked, and then giggled. "I'm just making sure you love all of me. Just like how I love all of you." Moon then made out with Burst for a bit as she held onto him. "Maybe we should wait until we're back home."
"I certainly wouldn't that. You probably have no problem with waiting. What's a thousand years compared to a couple hours?", Burst said with a loving smile as he held Moon close to him. The rest of the couples awwed at that line. "I'd say we've had a good day. Let's head home."
Burst hummed happily as he and Moon went inside his house. "So? Did you have fun?"
"The best!", Moon said with a big smile. "I gotta say. I never thought I'd ever get this lucky with my new life."
"I'm just glad you're happy.", Burst said with a smile. Moon looked at Burst before addressing him.
"Burst?"
"What is it Moon?"
"...Would you like to shower with me?", Moon asked with a light blush.
Needless to say, Burst was a little bit shocked. "Uh...gee. I know we've shared a bed before, but this is on a whole new level! Moon...we're talking you and me NAKED in a confined space. I know you've been affectionate in the past, but I don't think we've ever been THIS intimate!"
Moon then looked away in shame. "Sorry! It's just...I've wanted to repay you. I owe you so much..."
"Moon...what're you talking about? You don't owe me a thing."
"No Burst. This new home, my friends, you. All of this is possible because of you. I...I know you think of what you've done as very little. But you're the entire reason I'm even here. And I can't help but feel you deserve something that shows my thanks. And after the incident with Blitz..." Moon began to tear up. "I...I just don't want anyone else to hold me besides you!" Moon then held onto Burst tightly. Burst slowly put his arms around her.
"So you want me to take care of your back again?", Burst asked with a small smile. Moon wiped her tears and led Burst to the shower. The two of them weren't really getting handsy except for washing each other's backs.
"I've gotta say. The warm water's pretty soothing.", Moon said with a blissful sigh.
"Yeah. It really relaxes you after a long day. Today was no exception." Burst then felt Moon kissing his neck. "Moon?"
"I'm so happy...", Moon said as tears fell from her face. "Sometimes I wonder if I even deserve you. You've faced off against villains that threatened to shake this world to its core, and have stood your ground when others would run. And most of all...you were willing to be banished with me without any fear."
Burst took hold of one of Moon's hands. "NEVER ask yourself that question. You helped me too. During the times when I was at my lowest, you helped me get up. You've saved me just as much as I've saved you. You don't need to prove a thing."
Moon smiled. "You don't either. I love you Burst. With all of my heart." Moon pulled Burst into a tight hug as he stepped out with a towel around his waist.
Burst smiled as he returned the embrace. "And I love you with all my heart too. We'd better get dressed. Especially since Pinkie's probably got a party planned for tonight."
Everyone had gathered at Sugar Cube Corner. "Well, we've had fun in the sun. Now it's time to party the night away!", Pinkie screamed! And with that, the party went into full swing in less than an instant! Pinkie weaped the sweat from her brow, and Akage walked up to her.
"You sure take parties seriously.", Akage said with a smile.
Pinkie beamed. "Not just parties. I take all my friends seriously! Especially making sure they smile! And I'm glad you take ME seriously Akage!" Pinkie hugged Akage with a loving smile. "Thank you."
Akage blushed as he led her to the dance floor. "You're welcome. Now let's bust a move!" As the two of them danced, Akage couldn't help but ask Pinkie a question. "Hey Pinkie?"
"Yeah?"
"Did you have something planned since we're all couples?"
Pinkie nodded excitedly! "Uh huh! It'll happen right about...now!" The music changed to a slow song. This gave everyone all the signal they needed. It was time for a slow dance. "You know, this is my first time slow dancing with someone. I'm glad it's you." Akage smiled in response and held Pinkie close as they slow danced. Meanwhile, Fluttershy was blushing while Tyrannus danced with her.
Fluttershy averted her eyes away from Tyrannus. "Oh my..."
"Don't be scared. I'll catch you if you start to fall.", Tyrannus said with a smile. Fluttershy smiled as she inched closer towards Tyrannus. At the same time, the Dazzlings were moving fluidly with their boyfriends. Adagio leaned in close to Veenus's face.
"This is the first time I've ever said this to anyone. Veenus..." Adagio looked Veenus directly in the eye. "...I adore you."
Veenus smiled as he pulled Adagio closer to his body. "And I adore you as well. Your song will always play in my heart." Sonata and Aria, as well as Ace and Fang, smiled at the scene unfolding. At the same time, Steel and Rainbow were having a dance off. Sunset and Gold were enjoying glasses of punch as everyone else danced.
"Here's to a great day.", Sunset said with a smile.
Gold grinned. "Cheers."
Applejack had the lead as she danced with North. "You sure you don't mind me takin' the lead North?"
"Not at all lass! In fact, you're dancing quite well!", North said with a smile. "Besides, now it's my turn to take charge." North held Applejack close as they continued their dance. "I hope you don't mind."
Applejack smiled. "You just worry about moving sugar cube. I'll take care of moving my body in tune with yours."
Rarity and Inferno were moving in almost perfect sync. "Quite the romantic moment, huh?", Inferno asked.
"Oh, darling.", Rarity said with a dreamy look in her eyes. "You're no gentleman, but you are very noble. No one knows how to excite me like you do."
"I could say the same for you." Inferno and Rarity then shared a kiss as they continued dancing. Meanwhile, Burst and Moon were getting pretty close with their dancing. Moon even nibbled on Burst's ear a little.
"At least you don't bite hard.", Burst joked.
Moon giggled as she released her hold on his ear. "Just wait until prom. I plan on holding you extra tight then." Moon then sighed. "I can't wait to head home after this. That way we can continue in our dreams." Burst smiled as he continued to hold Moon close. The party soon winded down, and everyone headed home.
Burst stretched as he and Moon returned home. "This has been one of the best nights of my life! Good thing I showered earlier. I don't know about you Moon, but I'm going to change into my PJs. Think I'll go shirtless tonight." Burst went upstairs and changed before crawling into bed. However, he was surprised to see Moon enter his room wearing nothing! "Moon?! This is kinda...new." Moon smiled.
"Let's just say I wanted to make your night ever better.", Moon said in a silky tone as she crawled into bed. "I like how the sheets feel against my bare skin. Mmmmnnnh. I also love how your body feels against me." Moon then summoned her wings as she pulled Burst closer. Wrapping her wings around him like a blanket. "Don't be shy. Rest your head against my chest. Your hearbeat always lulls me to sleep. Let mine do the same for you." Moon looked down at Burst with a loving gaze. Burst nuzzled against her and smiled.
"Moon?"
"Yes?"
"You got this idea from Highschool DxD didn't you?", Burst asked.
Moon giggled. "Guilty as charged. You don't mind do you?"
"Not at all.", Burst said as he wrapped his arms around Moon. "I've got to admit. Your body feels nice too. And I think your hearbeat's starting to get me sleepy."
Moon smiled lovingly as she leaned in and kissed Burst before whispering her last words before sleep claimed them both. "Sweet dreams my beloved." The two fell fast asleep. Eagerly awaiting the next day. They still had four days left of spring break after all. And they were planning on making the most of them.
