I call it "Cannon Questions," a weekly exploration of elements of the Friendship is Magic cannon that raise. . . interesting questions.
I call it "Cannon Questions," and in it I will weekly explore one or other element of the Friendship is Magic cannon that really intrigues me. I will be asking very small questions: the sort whose answers are purely speculation for everypony but the most creative of arguers, and closest of watchers.
So this evening I was wondering: Just how much time has passed since the beginning of season one and the end of season three in Equestria?
Despite not having a readership, I've decided to start writing a little segment.
You see, I have many questions about the cannon of Equestria, so I have decided to post weekly a question of mine concerning that powerful subject.
Since I am that kind of person who thinks he is the only kind of person, and so talks about his own ideas to the detriment of the subjects of others, I want to make a what if statement: what if each FiM season there were a new ensemble cast introduced and developed? Now, don't burn me for heresy; it's a worthwhile controversy. So many new characters could be developed. There would be so many more morals-of-the-story to work with if the choice of theme did not depend on the same
This is a response I wrote to a question by Dash Attack giving my theory concerning Her Highness, Twilight Sparkle.
I did not feel like reformatting it so here it is as I wrote it; food for your thought, I hope.
Am I the only one who actually didn't like the finale? I heard rumors that it is a multi-parter, and if that's the case it's forgiven. Otherwise, and I hate to be the sort of cynic that says. . . It was just an excuse to sell more pony paraphernalia.
So... Saddle Arabia? Really? So are we having some Camp David accords here. or just discussing the disposition of Celestial troops stationed in Middle Equestria?
Well, at least there's a reason for it being in the plot.
If you've not guessed, I'm talking about the newest episode of season three (and season three as a whole, really), which I liked but has me wondering...
1. Why is Zecora so good at magic when she's an earth--eh--Zebra?
So, philosophizing aside for now, I have a problem.
It is a HUGE problem
It is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!
No really, it is.
I had this wonderful idea for a story about Rarity and Sweetie Belle; it would've concerned their relationship, etc, and that's always good for some D'aww (and I know how much you all love your 'D'aww')
But I somehow got away with closing it without saving it... or something.
"The measure is English Heroic Verse without rhyme... rhyme being no necessary adjunct of poem or good verse, in longer works especially, but the invention of a barbarous age, to set off lame matter and wretched meter; graced indeed by some modern poets... but much to their vexation, hindrance, and constraint to express many things otherwise and for the most part worse than else they would have described them." - Milton on rhyme, The Verse
If you follow these steps only you will write better than either Tolkien or Rowling; follow them only as far as they did and you will be on the very honorably par with them:
1. Write till your fingers bleed.
2. Read till your eyes bleed.
3. Edit your work until your brain leaks out your ears.
