Since I am that kind of person who thinks he is the only kind of person, and so talks about his own ideas to the detriment of the subjects of others, I want to make a what if statement: what if each FiM season there were a new ensemble cast introduced and developed? Now, don't burn me for heresy; it's a worthwhile controversy. So many new characters could be developed. There would be so many more morals-of-the-story to work with if the choice of theme did not depend on the same characters, character strengths, and defects. The writers would not have to worry about running out of ideas; with a new cast every season, if the plot ever got stuck (as it currently is) , the stuck plot can just be wrapped up cleanly and moved on from. Also, the show would not have grown so stale (whoa, okay; now I've blasphemed).
Thoughts? Or did I just derp your mind?
I would like to know what you all think about this. Note that the ensemble suggested by this picture is not one that I would be interested in watching. Of course Octavia deserves to be in a cast, but I would be most interested in seeing a season that includes [url=a young adult Cheerilee]http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/331/d/0/wet_mane_cheerilee_by_sellyme-d4hg04a.png, and that deals with her character development. My next two favorite ideas, if you care, are a short series like the one we just had that features a contemporary Cheerilee adventuring with the cutie mark crusaders (shove Babs in there and Tiara if you like the number 6 and some good conflict); and something that concerns a younger Luna and Celestia, something that develops their characters and the history of Equestria, perhaps something a bit serious.
