Applejack's dreams have become strange, and perhaps even a little dark of late. Their only common factor in the dreams seems to be that Luna has her silver-shod hoof all over them.

What is the princess up to? Is there a deeper purpose to these dreams?

When Rainbow Dash approaches the Princess of Friendship with a question about friendship, Twilight Sparkle is delighted to help her friend, even if that friend is being uncharacteristically coy about some of the actual details of the question. As she digs for the right answers, the question continues to become more complicated.

Then things get awkward.

When a strange, unexpected storm settles over Ponyville, Twillight Sparkle investigates. She discovers that not only is the storm the fault of the weather ponies, but only the weakest flyer in Ponyville can stop it.

Forbidden magic is only forbidden when somebody explicitly forbids you to do it. This does not preclude possible consequences from engaging in poor magic practices.

Twilight Sparkle gets distracted in the middle of dabbling in questionable magics and things go downhill from there.

Only Spike stands in the way of disaster when Rainbow Dash accuses Twilight Sparkle of lacking spontaneity.
