Honestly, I don't know what that really means. I'm only trying to survive in this blasted Wasteland. The only reason I haven't given this damn diary to the ponies looking for it is because they'd probably vaporise me afterwards.

So now I'm stuck with dealing with a problem that the universe thinks me, Lucky Shoes, is the only pony who can fix. I'm... just not sure exactly what the problem is, and this diary isn't exactly forthcoming with details.

This story is a sequel to Dying Flame

A year has passed since Spike's furnace went out, and Twilight was forced to leave her adoptive brother in the care of Al'Mal'Gorath. The complete and utter silence regarding the fate of Spike has all but driven the alicorn into the depths of despair, only her friends support allowing her sanity to remain steady.

Deep down, Twilight fears what may be waiting for her - she fears that her brother, Spike, died a year ago and nothing but a corpse remains. But most of all, she fears the kind of monster Mal'Gorath could have shaped him into.

After a vigorous day of organising and sending reports to Celestia, Twilight notices Spike is feeling a little ill. He slowly grows more and more cold, before finally falling into a coma that Twilight fears is her own fault.

Going to the Princesses for help, Twilight eventually is brought before an Elder Dragon and comes to the realisation that she may have failed as a caretaker, a friend and as an older sister.

In the Frozen wastes north of the Crystal Empire, lives a reclusive earth pony. Haunted by things done in the past, he seeks to hide away from civilisation. Sensing the arrival of the strange mare, he realises his past has come to catch up with him.

Twilight Sparkle is the Princess of Friendship. She is loved by her friends, family and Equestria beyond. She embodies the very essence of Friendship and shares its virtues across the land.

Twilight Sparkle has been having nightmares recently. She cannot sleep - actions taken, many moons ago, has shaken the Princess of Friendship’s belief in herself and her title.

Pinkie Pie is a baker, a party-planner and the best-liked mare in Ponyville. She is loved by her friends and family. Rarely she is seen without a smile on her face and a bounce in her step.

Pinkie Pie has been seen less and less these days. She cannot bare the thought of facing the world. Something she did, many moons ago, has cast doubts on the party-pony on who she really is.

A cold, mysterious winter overtakes Equestria, its ponies finding themselves growing bitter and hateful towards each other. Blizzards rage, freezing cities and ravaging the skies.

Ponyville, home to the Elements of Harmony, find themselves as the eye of the storm as Twilight and her friends try to deal with the sudden blizzards, while helping the refugees flooding into the small town.

A very old evil has been sleeping patiently and is slowly starting to wake again - but can Twilight stop it in time before Equestria becomes desolate?
