Prolouge Megaman Zero 4 Alt ending Part 1: memory return (Rebirth of OMEGA the DEstruction)

DR Wile Laughed as he watched the exhausted Zero collapse. the hero had lost, and now he had his greatest plan ready. The Destruction of Nature... an impact that would make the Eurasia colony incident look Tame. The scientist wasn't sure if he would live through it or not, but he honestly didn't care. What was fore most on his mind was the little bonus of obliterating that Damned Resistance, as well as that little human settlement. All of those who broke his law would be punished by his divine hand. So caught up in his laughing as he waited for the impact.. that never came.. his laughter slows but he hears another voice.. turning he sees the greatly weakened Zero, though he looked different. Wile's eyes widened as he looked about seeing.. nothing. No stars moved, No debris shot upwards.
"Foolish foolish Docter. You made me REMEMBER. Yes... I remember everything now.." Wile watched as Zero slowly drew back out the saber.. blinking at how the hero seemed to change. Zero's eyes where wilder.. his helmet crystal seemed to glow. The Saber was also different.. longer.. and purple. Taking a closer look he also noticed Zero's palm glowing as he began his step forward.
Sweat began to pour down the scientists face and neck.. what remained of his human body shook as an unfamiliar and unwelcome emotion took over his body. Fear, he felt fear, as if DEATH itself stood before him.
Zero laughed at the weak old scientist as the fool launched lasers blasts forward. To no avail, th few shots that got close.. Zero's saber deflected. The hunter's grin widens as he reflects on all of his regained knowledge. He watched nonchalantly as Wile fired different rounds. The Capture nets, Evaporated as they touched the hunter.. the bullets cut down with strokes of the sword.. His prey was scared... the hunter was pleased..
Wile watched as his every attack failed. Desperation set in as he began to charge his Grand laser.. Blasting the large beam forward he laughs.. until he saw the beam connect with the saber.. Even this larger Beam did nothing. Now even more terrified he triggered his final weapon. watching as his spiked shield rushed towards the maverick hunter. Only to watch it get sliced in half. Zero had swung his sword.. and cut the spike in half with a wave of energy.
Zero smiled widely as he watched Wile Panic... walking slowly towards the scientist.. Reaching his target, the Hunter shoves his fist through the shield Grasping Wile by the throat.
"Y-You C-Can't.. You can't Kill a human..." Wile gasps as he watched Zero laugh again.
"You don't know do you? You didn't even think it all through did you? Do you know who I am? Little Human?" Zero asks darkly.
"Y-You are A Fake.. your not even real. That body is Fake.. how can you even have those powers? It's impossible!" Wile yells as terror filled him more.
"Tsk tsk tsk.. Id think you, a scientist in Robotics would know better. What you had, and called omega, was my body. But my power... hmmmhmhm... you never had that. Don't you know? Computer's and robots.. use chips for memory. You took the body. But not the BRAIN." Zero smiles even more as the man's eyes widen.. the thought of them popping out of their sockets was amusing.. "So tell me.. Do you know what I am?"
"Y-You.. Z-Zero. The Maverick Hunter.. F-Found in an abandoned Laboratory.. and Captured by Sigma..."
Zero shakes his head and sighs. "You learned enough to call my body Omega.. but not why? I'm very disappointed in you. Doctor. Allow me to enlighten you." Zero leans his head closer to Wile, so that he could see the W appear as plain as day.

"I am Zero Omega. The Last of Dr. Albert Wily's Robot master Creations. Created with the ability to infect and possess other robotics. What you and ever call the 'Sigma Virus' was merely my own power. I was created so that even after Wily's death..Robots would serve him in his.. 'crusade' to defeat Dr. Thomas Light and his creations Mega-man and X. However, as he drew nearer to death he had me sealed away. Only to be freed hundreds of years later by some curious little Reploids."
Zero smiles letting his information sink in. "While it is true that robots had gone maverick before I had awoken. they only truly came to power after the infection transferred to Sigma himself. Scientists found my info, and sealed it away quickly before the 'reploids' would panic. Especially when they had discovered another capsule like mine. Of course no one told Sigma anything, as he slowly went insane. I myself soon awoke, but rehabilitated and trained to be a Maverick hunter. Partially to keep me watched, and to keep an eye on both X and Sigma. After Sigma went insane though.. they gave me freedom to move once I refused to work with the Ex hunter leader."
"So.. that's why.. those reports about the virus zones.. that's why you were never harmed.. You can't be harmed by what comes from you..." Wile says with wider eyes.
"Yes, but that part of me was sealed.. most of the way. I soon noticed that Reploids and mechanaloids acted increasingly strange around me.. And with Sigma's attempts to 'purify me' and the Nightmares of my maker. I was soon able to put 2 and together. In order to help X. I sealed myself away. That is, until YOU arrived.. Like the scientist Gate had, you had obtained parts of my Data, using them to create..."

"Omega. and Cause the Elf wars." Wile finished.
"As well as reawakening me. Not only that but X had to seal himself away, and before you were banished you took my original body. For whatever reason.. Not that I care. Other scientists.. where smarter though.. knowing what you had done with PART of my Data, they extracted my mind from my body.. and while you gained much from my empty shell.. it wouldn't be everything."
"Let me guess... and then.. that scientist girl... her ancestor.. most have built you that fake body.."
Zero smirks. "Sealing me away even further.. By the time Ciel herself found me.. Most of my Memory had faded to the back.. to be awoken in a time of Tragedy and panic. Such as now." Zero frowns. As he squeezes the neck of his prey. "I was happy not remembering.. but now.. I am filled with rage.. and I'm tired. Tired of being used... ever since I was first created I have been forced into battle after battle. Never stopping, never ceasing. Always following the orders of the humans.. even at the cost of my friends lives.." He squeezes harder. "but now.. all of that can end.. Your powering this station. YOUR the power core.. I kill you everyone is saved.. and I finally get the Rest I so richly deserve. No more battle, no more war, no more pain, no more loss, and no one will ever use me again."

The Hunter Shoves Wile back into the machine.. watchign as it all shuffled.. "You Die, so that I may die." Drawing out his sword.. he Shoves it through the scientists body. partially surprised at the lack of blood as his Saber goes clean through the simple flesh and mechanics.. The saber reaching all the way to the core... he smiles.. as he hears the reaction begin.. closing his eyes.. and waiting to embrace the darkness..

Burning, and the rush of wind and gravity. Zero had expected a swift death, but here he was... launched away by the explosion. An Explosion that should have evaporated him. Yet there he was, falling and watching Ragnarok explode above him. He blinked, wondering if some random being had saved him.. yet his Cyber elf.. was asleep still. Just as it had been before the battle. As he turns and watches the floor below, he took in a long gaze of the land below, land he had saved. It was strange but he felt happy seeing it safe and sound. Glad the pieces of the past, and the darkness of the assumed future would never reach it. Still his mind drew back to the station.

"Why had I not been killed? Why was I launched back instead of sucked in like expected?" He shakes his head and smiles. "Not that it mattered.. soon ill be resting one way or another.." The extreme rush of G forces as he drew closer was enough to knock the hero out.. though a small tormenting voice in the back of his head was whispering..

Zero stood within darkness, in his own mind. Looking at his Old self. who oddly enough even wore the old Armor.
"your not done yet... You don't deserve to die yet."
"Haven't I done enough?" Zero responds to himself watching as it laughed.
"Those battles? Those problems where your own doing. All you did was clean your own mess.. your virus has killed far more than you have saved Little Wanna be hero."
"I'm not a hero at all." Zero says angrily.
"No, your a villain, a monster, and the funny part is.. you WANT to be the hero. The great creation of Dr Wily, with dreams of being a REAL hero. How sad is that?"
Zero had no reply to his inner self.. he could tell deep down it was right.
"No arguments? No sarcastic moment? Wow you are slipping. But then again.. it might be the rush from the Repliforce memories.. oh.. its Kraft... right?"
Zero blinks as he watches his old self walk about.
"Yes.. Kraft..A reploid who wanted to save the world, and was tricked into working to destroy it. All in the name of Justice.. correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it that very word that drove you to kill the Colonel and Iris?"
He growls at his older self who seemed to flaunt the memory.
"Yes the great and powerful hero. Fighting for the humans and peace by Killing everything that stands against him. Friend of Foe, you didn't really care."
"SHUT UP!" Zero yells rushing over as he attacks his older self.
"See? Even now its your Saber that you speak with isn't it?" The older Zero Shoves him back as it laughs. "First instinct, kill.. just like all of the other Robot Masters. At least one of them had a goal in mind.. what was his name? AH yes ... BASS. OH what a coincidence the very Bass you killed to prove yourself to your 'master'. Do you remember? I remember of course.. Megaman.. Protoman.. I remember all of the Robots you murdered before you where sealed away." IT smirks widely. "Even little Roll... her head.. definitely fit her name.. didn't it?"

Zero couldn't take it as he collapsed in thought.. remembering all the people he murdered..

(MEANWHILE in the world of the Awake)
"Wow you where REALLY quick to put him in your lap eh Levi?"
"Stuff it Fire child."
"Leviathan. Fefnir. Behave." Harpuia commands them as the group stood together. Harpuia looks up as Phantom appears from a shadow as always.
"Master X is on his way." Phantom reported simply. "I still don't see why we don't Dump him on the Resistance's Door step."

"You didn't hear his final battle with The Doctor." Phantom blinks as he and the other male guardians snapped to attention.
"Master X." Harpuia says smiling as he bows. "I'm pleased to report that Zero is in fine condition, though I must echo Phantom's opinion.. why did you want him here in Cyberspace?"

"You will understand.. just read these." X replies sending the Data from the battle he'd witnessed. None of the guardians where surprised X was there.. they all knew X had faked his 'elf death' in order to work more secretly and to keep an eye on Zero. But they where surprised by what Zero was.

"Wow no wonder he was so skilled.." Phantom mused to himself.

"I can't imagine how it felt to learn all of that.." Harpuia had to admit. The Leviathan nods as even Fefnir was silent. "I sort of understand, you don't want Zero back on the field.. but what do we do?"

X smiles "Well first, we contact Ciel. Let her know Zero is alright and talk to her privately. Then we see about helping Zero rest."

Fefnir blinks. "Were gonna kill him? Wow that's cold boss."

Phantom and Leviathan face palm as Harpuia sighs. "No not kill him you idiot."

"We are going to find a non technological world for him to go and rest at. IF there is no technology there are no robotics. if there are no Robotics then Zero wont affect anything. No robots means no battle. What Zero needs most right now is an escape from his life of battle."
Fefnir still looked confused as Leviathan looks over. "Master X.. please in simple terms for him.. Were gonna get him a vacation."
"Oh that makes.. HEY DID YOU CALL ME STUPID?"

Phantom chuckles. "No she called you SIMPLE. Harpy called you stupid."
Fefnir blinks. "Course Harpy can say that.. Everyone but master X is stupid against him."
X chuckles as the other guardians sigh again. "right.. Ill go contact Ciel.. We are waiting for one other person to arrive.. but..."

"No need for that X. I'm here.. and I brought her." The group turns to see Ciel and the Cyber elf once known as Elplizo. "By the way, whoever was the messenger needs to be shot. I guessed it was Secret, so I deleted the other entries, though Ciel and her little one got theirs."

Ciel Smiles. "Yes I got your message, about Zero is he..."
X smiles. "Hes fine but hes really worn out. With all the battles he has been on non stop he is not mentally well."
Fefnir smirks. "Not to mention he landed on his head when he hit the ground!"
"FEFI! Down boy." Leviathan says grabbing and pulling his ear, dragging the guardian down.
"OWW OWW OWW!"
"Yes yes.. hes fine Ciel. Leviathan and I have been keeping watch, his vitals and everything seem fine." Harpuia says gently. "He did land on his head, but you of all people know how hard headed he is.."
Ciel chuckles and smiles. "Yes... I understand, now that the war is over.. I was trying to think of more ideas. I hadn't even gotten to Zero's break yet."

X blinks. "You had already known he would need rest?"
Ciel blinks. "Of course he would. Hes been putting himself under massive amounts of stress.. if he doesn't slow down hes going to fall apart. Fighting you all may have been fun for him, but he still gets tired."

"Anyway. Master X was talking about sending Zero to another world, one without technology. Can you think of any?" Phantom asks before they all got totally derailed from the main topic.
"Without technology? hmm.. I don't think our Tech would work.. unless we found sure coordinates, but even then..he'd most likely be trapped." Ciel replies looking worried.
"Well according to Master X we need to find one so Zero can get real rest." Phantom states simply.
"X? whats that about?" Elplizo asks looking over.
X frowns in thought for a moment as he mulls over telling the truth and decides to spin it differently. "Ah yes.. you can sense the odd new energy with your device right?" Seeing Ciel nod he smirks. "At the moment Zero is covered in Wile's energy rays. Any Robot that gets close to him, will go berserk. Cyberelves like us are fine, but your Resistance men.."
Ciel nods. "AH that's why you needed me alone!"

Unseen phantom exchanges glances with the others as they all saw the half truth there.. even Fefnir got the hint.. or was too distracted by Levi's hold on his ear. Phantom couldn't tell at the moment.
"As you know, with reploids helping the humans focus on rebuilding. there really is no place without both Robots and humans. The last thing any of us need is a crazy robot uprising. That status of the people, they wouldn't be able to cope." Elplizo adds in agreement.
"Exactly. That's why we need a world with no Tech. So that Zero can rest safely." Harpuia says kindly.

"Yes I understand.. something tells me there is more to this.. but you all do have a point.. and I do detect strange energy from Zero." Ciel admits nodding further. "Actually the talk of humans and reploids reminded me of a program I'm working on."
X nods. "Ah the Bio form project right?"
Ciel smiles. "So you did get that... yes. Part of the problem that led to this whole disaster was about how powerless humans felt against reploids. Neige is helping me test ideas and concepts, but at the moment the only compatible person is Zero." Ciel sighs sadly handing the bag of chips to Phantom. "I was going to ask him to test these forms.. they are based off you all actually. But I thought that eventually giving the humans the ability to fight like the Guardians of Neo Arcadia would help their moral."

"Ah... that explains the letters... P, H, L, F, Z, and X." Harpuia says as he also looks them over.
"Chips that give our powers.. to the humans.." Fefnir mumbles in thought. "Not that any human can REALLY match ME!"
"Not in stupidity anyway.. But I do like the idea." Leviathan says gently. "They can use our abilities to keep everyone safe, while working with the reploid defense."

Ciel smiles wider. "I made these to work like the form DAta Zero already uses. they transform his weapons and give him the special talents you all used in battle. As well as extra data X shared with me. If not for X I wouldn't have gotten Harpuia's flight or Phantom's data completed."
X nods. "Yes I support the idea of humans having the power to protect themselves. Though I hope they don't abuse the reploids with them." X smirks. "I also duplicated the weapon Data Zero had used before. Remaking his older weapons as well."

"Oh that's nice of you..." Elplizo says thoughtfully as a Cyber elf rushes over.
"MASTER X MASTER X MASTER X! WE FOUND ONE!"
More little Elves rush over as they join the chorus.
"We did it!"
"We found a new world!"
"I saw it first!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"I recorded it first!"
"Only after I pointed it out!"
"You cant prove that at all!"
"Oh I'll find away.."
"WAAAAHHH"
"Uh oh..."
"Oh dear."

X chuckles walking to the crying baby elf. "Now now.. whats wrong?"
"they are all too loud.. its my fault anyway.. I saw a big glowy star and wanted to know what it was so I hit the scope. Now everyone wont stop yelling.. I'm sorry.."
The other elves freeze at that..
"Oh no.."
"Oh.. that's right.."
"It was her.."
"I remember."
"So then SHE found it."
"Yes yes she saw it first."
"PFF I recorded it first."
"So? Shes a baby shes not able to record yet!"
"YEAH don't be so mean! They are right SHE found it."

"Hey hey hey settle down.. lets see the data."
A tall cyber elf floats over handing the data to X. "Here are the scans."

X puts it up for them all to see.
"Lets see.. medium sized planet.. Primitive technology.. but nothing too dangerous for Zero. Environment fits ours. gravity is about half but that's not a problem."

Ciel nods. "It looks perfect! and wow.. that's not that far away."
"Great job kids." X says smiling as they all float off and away. "Knew making it a game was the best option."

"Children certain love their games.. Don't they Fefnir?" Harpuia asks smirking.
"Ah well they are fun.. HEY WAIT!"

"X.. should we wake him up? or send him in his sleep?" Leviathan asks standing up still holding the knocked out Zero.

"We should send him now.. well put the chips and such in his pouch and send him along..." Phantom says in thought.

"Yeah.. the faster he goes the faster he can come back ^_^." Ciel says happily.

"Good bye Zero.. rest well..."

[6 hours later]
"OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THING?" A voice rang out. "FLUTTERSHY! Why did you bring it here?"
"Well uh-mm.. I couldn't just.. LEAVE it there.. you know how dangerous the Everfree is..." the timid pegasus says to the panicking unicorn.
"BUT WHAT IF ITS ONE OF THE BAD THINGS! What if its, is.. hes, hers.. I don't even know what it is!" Twilight replies in a visible panic.
"Calm down Twlight.. relax. if its bad. AJ and I will just send it back." Rainbow dash comments simply, as relaxed as always...
"Aj and I? That's funny I don't remember you doing any heavy lifting." Apple jack retorts. The earth pony sitting with an ice pack on her back. "You sure your gonna be alright there sugar-cube?"
Fluttershy nods. "Oh it wasn't so bad. You did most of the work.."
"Hey! I helped!" Rainbow states feeling irritated she was being ignored.
"So when did flying around telling us to speed up cause your getting bored count as helping?" Applejack says smirking.
"Hey! I uh.. cleared the clouds!"
"Yeah.. in the middle of Summer!"

"GIRLS! come on and focus on the real problem here. We don't know what this... THING is and you just Dragged it into the library." Twilight yells irritated.
"Well who else would know what this thingamabob might be?"
"the library in the MIDDLE OF PONYVILLE! What if it's a bomb? What if it explodes! OH MAN the princess! Shes gonna kill me! When she finds Ponyville.. NO when she DOESN'T find Ponyille! Oh now.. shes gonna banish me!"
"Least shes not yelling about Magic kindergarten this time." Rainbow adds in chuckling. "Come on Twlight. I'm sure the princess wont be too upset. Maybe you should send her a letter just in case? If anyone knows what this is.. SHE will."

"Ah the princess! That's a GREAT IDEA!" Twilight yelps rushing off.
"COURSE IT IS! I thought of it!" Rainbow smirks. "I am the GREATEST after all."

Zero's powers
Megaman Zero in recovering his memory also recovered the use of all of his previous attacks and skills. I tried to show this partially in the Battle scene during the Doctor and Zero.
Powers used in that scene
Dark hold froze the collapse and stopped the fall of Ragnarok long enough for Zero to kill his enemy. Its show many times in game that the new world has much more rampant energy. This is shown in the attacks, since normally special attacks consume energy from a POWER BAR which is totally absent in this game. My personal logic being that Zero era (and equestria) have large amounts of magical and Electrical energy that's free flowing and wild.
Megaman X6 saber boost chips. (logic being that when he sealed himself Zero gave his, at the time current Saber to X who then returns it. I assume the chips became permanent in the weapon and he merely needed to remember how to access them. These are how he was able to cut down and deflect energy attacks. In equestrian, he will be able to Cut magical energy and magical attacks the same way.
Omega Aura: initially shown during the BAD ending of Megaman X5 with Eurasia succeeding in hitting the world. To put it simply Zero surrounds himself in his Virus energy and it was enough to rip through the Flimsy barriers (which where the weakest of Wile's attacks, a single buster shoot took them out)

Story line train of thought
I'm up for suggestions here honestly, The only set stuff in mind is that the entire group is in love with itself. But that's a parody on the MASSIVE shipping stories here. Taking notes from some other stories, Zero will discover Non pony places he can explore that will function as ROOMS where he will interact with X and Co.. I'm already planning to have X and Celestia already knowing each other. (it fits X's Know everything and after I found out about Trollestia it sorta reminded me of Cyberelf X anyway.)

AS Zero grows in the Pony world he will adapt and grow in talents, leading to Special challenges involving the 4 guardians to master their forms. HE can already use them but he needs the challenges to truly master them. [In reference to How form are obtained as well as Weapon Skill learning in all Zero games. By beating challenges, and constant use.]

Meeting new allies

"Good bye Zero.. Rest Well."
"Ciel.." Zero shakes his head as he sits up.. blinking as he looked about his location. Not that it answered any of his questions... one fact was certain though, this wasn't a resistance base. Nor was it any form of base at all actually. Zero's scans definitely confused him.. his surroundings where made of wood..natural wood.. not the normal metal+wood hybrid some places used. Standing up he noted the different strange lay out of the area, how different it all seemed. "Where am I?" Closing his eyes he triggered some of his Call scans.. but nothing was intelligible, the only data was a horde of voices arguing about some bomb but nothing that made sense.
He slowly stands up and glances around the dark room.. a small window showed a small view of a Star filled night sky. He made several deductions from his surroundings.

The many books and experimental tables and potions led Zero to theorize the owner was a mad scientist, though oddly he felt none of his parts touched or impacted, nor any of the usual scientific tools. Many pieces of furniture where also fairly low to the floor. Though the table was at a normal height to him personally which he found strange. Walking towards the stairs he notices that the door had no handle.. and was also very low to the floor. Pushing open the small door he finds himself in a large Circular room. The walls where covered in shelves and books. The only other thing that popped to mind where the small group of Equine like beings. One was a fairly normal looking horse that wore a western style hat on its head. The other three where a bit stranger. Two of them, a Blond and pink maned pony and a blue and rainbow maned body had Wings. Sort of like how an actual pegasus would look like. The third was purple and a star like shape was seen on its leg. The more impressive thing was the horn on its head, and the fact that it was sleeping on a book. Now far more curious about the owner of the building. Whoever it was, had interesting taste in decor.. and pets. Walking outside of a slightly large door he heard voices.
"She has been so worried about this thing.. she fell asleep reading! Fluttershy, Rainbow dash and Apple jack even stayed with her, but I noticed Fluttershy start to drift." A young male voice was saying.
"I see she still has trouble with.. panicking problems. any word from the princess?" A female royal sounding voice replies.
"No not yet.. but I'm keeping my eyes open. Thanks again for agreeing to come over Rarity."
"Not a problem Spike, I must admit that, from the strange descriptions, I was already planning to look at this, thing, anyway."
Zero stays still watching for the person.. yet seeing a small purple.. dragon and another of the horned horses... ah unicorn that's what it was. Unfortunately he had gotten so distracted by his mental word search hat he had forgotten to hide or anything as the Purple dragon yells and the Unicorn backs away.
"THE BOMB IS AWAKE! TWILIGHT!" The dragon yells as zero blinks.
"Bomb?" he asks confused. "You think I'm a bomb? Seriously?" Zero was genuinely appalled at the thought. "Do I look like a bomb to you?"
"Well.. not really.. more like an odd.. wait did you just talk?" the unicorn Rarity asks.
"You know I was going to ask that myself. I have never met a talking equine before.. oh and for the record. I am not a bomb. I can make things explode.. but I'm not a bomb myself." [not that kind anyway] he adds mentally to himself. HE blinks as a purple glow covers him as he is sent flying into a street. "Whoa! hey!" Looking over he saw the Purple unicorn.. and her horn was glowing the same shade of purple as the energy had been.
"IT..It's.. walking and Talking? What sort of THING is that?" the purple one asks.
"Oww... what was that energy? It felt like my weapon hum.." Zero murmurs as he stands up slowly. "Look.. will you just relax miss.. Purple.. unicorn thing? I'm not here to hurt anyone." [I don't even know where I am..]
"Wait... your not?" The purple one asks as the rainbow and blonde ones walk out.
"Yeah? why should we believe you? We don't even know what you are!" the rainbow one asks as the blond shivers.
"Simple. this will sound cold but.. your still alive right?" Zero says with a shrug. "I saw you all asleep and left. I would have had plenty of time to kill you if I wanted. But that's not my intention. I'm tired of war and battle, I just want to rest." Zeros arms go down to his sides. "That is your evidence. I left the basement and saw you all and left you alive. IF I wanted you dead. You would be dead."
Twilight blinks and frowns in thought. "Hes got a point there Rainbow.. he did manage to sneak out of our basement and get out."
Zero nods and turns to look around. "Ill be honest. I don't know where this is.. I don't know what you are, or how I got here. My last memory is of getting hit in an explosion and launched off a station that was on a crash course to earth."
"hmm..." Twilight says thoughtfully. "Well we can help with some of that stuff..." shes says. "Come one back to the library, we can start getting you read up on things."
"Oh so your not a mad scientist then?" Zero asks blinking as the purple horse froze and others snickered.
"I um... well I'm sorta a scientist I guess... I'm studying the magic of friendship as the student of Princess Celestia." Twilight says as they all head back into the tree house.
"Celestia. In my memory that reminds me of Celestial, one of the heavenly bodies of the sky." Zero says before pausing. "hmm.."
"Why yes shes the princess of the sun.. uh is something wrong?" She asks looking over.
"I'm following a scientist magic pony into a magical Library that's inside a giant tree...." Zero shrugs. "Just had the strange feeling that some amount of sanity just kinda fled my mind..." Zero blinks. "then again I have don weirder Technological stuff so.. I can adjust." He says walking into the tree.

Zero puts down the books in thought.
"OK let me get this straight. The majority of this world is populated by ponies, gryphons, and tons of other beings that are mere myth on my world. Cockatrice, dragons, and all of that are real here."
Twilight nods. "Correct."
Zero nods. "There are 4 types of pony being. Pegasus who fly and have weather 'magic', Unicorns who use another form of magic thanks to their horns, earth ponies who have incredibly strong endurance, as well as peak physical shape, and the Alicorn rulers who Are basically all of that plus an epic little bow?"
Twilight nods. "Also correct. Any questions?"
"A few, some will take personal theory but at the moment the only far pressing thoughts are the seriously random chance of your books and Language being the same as mine. No calculation makes sense.. and it leads me to think I was placed here on purpose." Zero says in thought. "Are you sure X, Megaman, and all those other names are not in any of these books?"
"Yes but I'm going to ask the princess about those questions myself. Though for a random traveler its nice that you don't need to eat or drink. I mean the trouble of finding FOOD for some one who has never been here before must be terrible."
"Yeah that makes sense.. so the personal stuff. Lets see.. your name is Twilight, your the student of Princess Celestia the princess deity of the sun. The cyan rainbow pegasus is Rainbow dash, who is part of the weather team. Fluttershy is the other pegasus, but is incredibly shy and loves to take care of animals. The purple dragon is your assistant Spike. The unicorn he was flirting with would be Rarity.."
Spike looks over. "HEY!"
Zero continues ignoring the out burst as twilight snickers. "Applejack is a farmer, and the only member of this.. 'Elements of Harmony' group I have yet to meet is A pink earth pony who is incredibly hyper and has.. strange powers named Pinkie pie."
Twilight nods yet again smiling. "Very good. Must be easy to memorize things with a computer mind..."
Zero shakes his head. "Not always, we can... lose things." he blinks "Oh right almost forgot, Princess Luna is the alicorn princess of the moon. As well as that the princesses live in Canterlot, the place that looks like a giant castle in the distance." Zero nods with a slight smirk. "So, this elements of harmony thing... what is that anyway?"
"Its... uh... well... kinda hard to explain to someone as analytical as you. Ill find the guide on them so you can read the info instead." Twilight says as more books fly around. Zero noted how the energy around her horn matched the energy around the books.
"Hmm... how did you learn how to master energy like that? Don't you get a headache floating around and looking for so many things at once?" Zero asks blinking. "Its gotta be hard to multitask and control energy while simultaneously looking around and reading titles."
"All unicorns have limits and specialties. It does hurt to expand alot of energy, but if you know your limits you don't get too hurt." Twilight look over. "Why are you still calling 'magic' Energy anyway?"
Zero lifts up his saber and triggers it. "IT felt similar to my own energy. The energy of my weapons such as this saber. I know how my saber mechanics work, so it seems silly to call it 'Magic'." he powers down the weapon and replaces it on his belt. "Magic is an unknown mystical energy. My saber is Science."
"Id agree if not for a few things, The first being that only you can use the saber. In fact, until you used it, none of us knew what it was at all. I think the fact no one else can use any of it is fairly magical." Twilight replies simply.
"The saber is triggered and powered by the energy of its holder." Zero explains lifting his hands up. "See my palms? Those are Energy units. the energy units draw power from the user, into the weapon. Whats confusing is that the User, draws in energy from the area around... So whatever your magic is, seems to also be able to power my weapons." Zero folds his arms. "I'd guess the reason you can't use my blade is that your energy is not in-sync with the saber." Zero pauses in thought. "If your magic is anything like my technology it probably works in Special waves. The waves of my body are different from the waves of your... horn."
"Which is fitting to my second point. Why is the magic energy here, working in your body? Your a robot who would use some for of electricity, yet here you are taking in Magical energy."
Zero blinks and closes his eyes. "Maybe.. I'm adapting to the environment?" He opens his eyes and stands up. "I have done stranger after all." HE turns to the door. "Do you mind if I use this place as a temporary Base? It will help me with my Map creation if I have a base to go on."
Twilight nods. "Yeah, here is a map of Ponyville. It might be a lot of work.. I'm not sure honestly... but you might want to list our homes as bases as well. something tells me your gonna be around here for a while."
"Alright. Ill go explore, get used to the gravity and such of the area. Maybe even some exercise.." He looks at the map. "Wait a moment... Twilight?"
The purple unicorn wanders over. "hmm? something wrong?"
"It says here that one of your friends... uh Rainbow Dash... Lives in the sky. How is that even possible?" Zero asks as Twilight smirks.
"Pegasus have the ability to stand and walk on clouds. So most of them live in the sky. Fluttershy doesn't but shes an animal Care taker, and she likes to stay ground level."
Zero nods. "I understand that, I always feel better with firm ground under my feet."

[As Zero walks outside cue the Earthbound sun rise and Onett Town theme (see told my pal I would put a random Earthbound reference in here..)]

Zero had never seen so many horses in his life. Even if he counted the robotic ones, this still over whelmed his sensors. He looking around he watched pegasus fly around above him, even seeing Rainbow dash as she zoomed about. He had to admit the speed at which she broke and piled clouds together was very impressive that he found himself recording it for further analysis later. After further examination he soon noticed the small crowd around Applejack as she sold apples and other apple related food stuffs. As the Reploid walked about he soon noticed that most of the horses seemed to completely ignore him.
"OMIGOSHyourwalkingaround!" Zero looks over to see a pink pile of energy bouncing up and down oddly on its four legs. "OhsoIwasrightafterallyouwherejusttakinganapthenwellgoodmorningmisteruhwierdrobotbombpersonthing.Wouldyoulikesomecupcakesorcakeormuffins?"
Zero smiles. "Let me guess, you must be Pinkie Pie right?"
"AHyourtalkingohthatssocoolandyouknowmynametoo!thatsevencoolerthatslikesuperdoopertriplechoclatecool!"
"Wow.. your talking a mile a minute.. I have never met anyone who talked that fast before.. don't you need to breath?"
Pinkie blinks and then yelps as if just remembering too as she takes an overly exaggerated deep breath that actually poofed her hair even more.
"Nice to meet you, but no thank you. I appreciate the offer but."
"Youdontwantanyofmycupcakesorcakesormuffins?DidIdosomethignwrong?areyoumadatme?"
Zero blinks as the suddenly poofy hair went overly straight."No I'm not mad at all. I just can't eat food. I'm a robot. I absorb energy from the sun and environment."
Pinkie blinks and then nods rapidly. "OkaywellIneedtogoplanyourparty.Cya."
"Wait.. what?" Zero asks but even before he was done the little bundle was off like a pink buster cannon shot. "Oh.. alright.."
"Oh...umm.. hello mister Zero sir..."
Zero turns and smiles and nods. "Hello again miss Fluttershy. Are you alright? you seem very fidgity.."
"Oh..umm... I just don't do well at crowded places. too many noises... and people." The timid little pegasus says softly. It looked like she might actually get squashed by the large amount of horses.
"I understand, do you know any good quiet places around? Id like to take a moment and test some.. things." Zero asks calmly.
"some things?" Fluttershy asks softly. "Oh yes I know some quiet places.. I can show you to them.. that is.. if you want me too.."
Zero smiles. "Yes, thank you Fluttershy." As the two walked to one of the quieter spots. "I just want some room to test and run a systems check. See what skills and such I can use and how they work here."

"Well here we are Mister Zero. I uhmm need to go get food for my animal friends.. I live right over there if you want a place to sit and rest later on." Fluttershy says gently as she nods. Zero helps her load back on her baskets before she wanders off. Zero turns as she walked away and saw the small cabin right next to a strangely dark forest. Pulling out his map he read that its name was the Everfree and that it was dangerous, VERY VERY dangerous.. so dangerous that your supposed to never ever go in. Yet a being named Zecora had a house inside of it.. Zero marks the information in his personal computer and logged in Fluttershy's home.

Zero takes a moment to look about, and smiles seeing no horses in his midst as he draws out his saber. HE takes a few moments, gazing into its partially see through green blade as he slowly swings it about. He lets himself think about the last time he had gotten to just... meditate and train with his blade. HE smiles as he performs his weapon Kata's, from a file he had found ages ago on a computer back when he had been a Maverick hunter. No one else paid it any mind, but the file had seemed oddly interesting for him. Looking through his mental list as he went through the motions he found the other entries on martial arts and even some on Spear use.
IT felt great, to just swing his weapons around, no combat, just exercise. He felt his body fully adjusting to his environment and soon he was leaping about just as well, and even better than he had been on his home world. He was capable of three jumps now, 2 in mid air and his normal was much higher. Judging from heights, he could probably make it to Twilights, upper balcony with his jumps and Air slashes. It was great to have all of his weapons again, as replaces his chain rod. Some how, he found his rod weapon had been modified, now able to encompass all three of its forms. From spear, to chair, to even splitting it in half and becoming the tonfa like Recoil Rod.
In fact, Zero had gotten so distracted that as he powered down his weapons he was genuinely caught in surprise by the group of beings watching him.
"Man I had no idea you could do such cool things. Like how we you set your weapon on fire and Leaped up into the air and spun in a circle before diving down and stabbing the ground." Rainbow was saying as she flew around doing a partial pantomime of his motions.
"I liked all the colors... there where so many colors of energy.." Fluttershy says with a wide smile.
"Your sword can EXPLODE! That was awesome!" Spike says laughing as Twilight was busy writing down various notes about what she had seen.
"A few times I felt magic being drawn into your body before you used a special attack." She says in thought. "So it looks like your tech and our world are compatible after all." She closes her book. "what do you think of town so far?"
Zero nods. "It is a very nice peaceful place. It feels like another place id been a while ago. A place where people lived with and surrounded by nature." Zero replies nodding as he thought of the human settlement he'd just worked to save. "I'm glad to be in a place with so much natural nature around.. my home didn't have much of that." Zero became silent as he thought of all the Mechanically controlled wild life and nature that covered his home world.
"Well I'm glad you like it here. OH right. I sent princess Celestia a letter about your arrival, and will be following that up with some info on what I just watched..." Twilight says as Zero nods.
"Understood... that sounds like a great idea." Zero blinks. "So.. what brought you all up here anyway?"
"Rainbow dash saw random flashes of green light and went to investigate, seeing that it was you, she came and got the rest of us."
Rainbow nods. "At first I was worried Twilight's Bomb theory might be true, but after seeing all the cool stuff you where doing.. I had to show the others!"

"If you think that was cool... wait till later on when you see him trigger me."
Zero blinks hearing his older voice... no... it was a much younger voice that spoke as he turns and sees, himself. The image was much like that of Cyber Elf X. With a partially see through being, yet still UN-mistakable.
"Your... my old training program. Correct?" Zero asks blinking as his past self nods.
"Must be strange to see the way you once looked, but that's my new function. I exist for two reasons. The first is to fully test your new body against your previous form at its peak. The second, is more mental. I'm going to help you deal with the OMEGA nightmares."
Zero opens his mouth but then shuts it as he nods. "By battling my REAL past self... not some possessed shell... I see how that could help out."
"Well why not try it out now?" Twilight asks curiously.
The program chuckles. "Simple miss Sparkle. Oh don't worry, got that from his memory bank, the reason is that I don't have enough power to initiate the program. Nor send Zero his latest messages." The program turns to Zero. "All I can say, besides hello and my function, is that your suspicions are correct. X was in fact alive, and this world was chosen. It was found by a group of cyberelves. Also that bag of Data chips? I will help you test those as well at a later date. However... something seems familiar about this place. Its equine people... specifically the name Celestia seem familiar. Ill do research, if I find anything ill let you know."
Zero watches as his older self vanishes.
"So, you looked like that, and now you look like well.. that?" Rarity, who had been fairly silent up till then says in thought.
"Its.. complicated. Ill explain it to you all eventually." Zero says nodding. "No reason to hide secrets from the people I'm sure ill be around for a while. Something tells me... were going to be together for a while."

"Now that you have explore Ponyville, the next step is to help the others out. Start off by helping each of us out with a task of some sort. I don't mean to brag, but if your seen helping heroes out.. they might warm up to you faster.""
Zero nods to Twilight as he hands her another book. "Alright.. who should I help out first?"
Before twilight could respond the door swings open wide as Rarity enters the room. "I think we got our answer.. Hello Rarity."
"Oh there you are Twilight darling. Uhm.. would you mind if I borrowed spike for a few hours? I need to get some more Gems for my Next line of Dresses."
Twilight nods and turns but Spike was already there with his cart. "Hey, Zero, why don't you go help out as well. I'm sure your weapons will help Get plenty of gems for Rarity's collection. That way All Spike has to do is pull the cart."
Spike blinks as Rarity smiles. "OH yes that's a wonderful idea! would you help us out Zero?"
Spike shrugs. "I wouldn't mind having less work.. and I'm interested in the various ways you can use your.. tools.."
Zero nods. "Alright I can help. WE where just talking about that sort of idea anyway."
Spike blinks. "Twilight wants gems?"
Zero chuckles. "No me going out and helping ponies."

[loading Rocky Gem mountain]

"AH Such wonderful weather, a perfect Day for Gem gathering!" The unicorn says happily as Zero looks about the Large rocky area.
"Plenty of minerals seem to grow around here.. Too many for me to really pick out though... how do we find the gemstones anyway?"
Rarity smile. "Oh Zero, that's my part in all of this. My.. talents are more than just fashion. I can sense and show where Gem stones are located. Normally id start earlier on.. because spikes claws cant handle extremely hard surfaces. You on the other hand.. probably can with those tools of yours." Rarity nods to a large boulder. "This stone here is full of gems."
Zero nods as he walks to the boulder. "I can see a strange Seem here.. Multiple colored surfaces are inside... from the ground.. ah got it. Stand back you two." Zero says as he Draws out his Spear, taking half into Recoil form and drawing his saber into his other hand. In only a few seconds his weapons where charged as he smirks. "One gem stone rain coming up."
Zero unleashes his power on the bottom end of the stone, at an angle that actually launched the entire boulder up into the sky, Zero smiles as he jumps into the air and lets his swords energy explode, cutting the boulder in half as he drops down. "Was that good?" HE asks before turning and seeing both Rarity and Spike with jaw dropped expressions. "oh.. too much?"
"You.. launched it... and then you.. Dam....That was awesome." Spike says with a wide smile as he and Rarity walked over to examine the halves.. "Oh look at all of them..."
"Oh this is wonderful Zero! No effort at all! Perfect we can get this job done really quickly! hmm perhaps Well have some extra for Spike here.."
"Oh really? that would be great!" Spike says happily as Zero blinks confused.
"Spike likes gems too?"
Spike turns and nods more. "I'm a dragon, we eat gem stones and many other types of item for food."
Zero nods. "Oh that's a useful ability."
"alright come on boys! Lets get going!"
- two boulders and a Slash into part of a mountain later-
"Ah... so many... for me... YAY!" Spike exclaims happily as the trio heads back to pony Ville.
"I had no idea there where that many sapphires in that area.. I have so many new gems.. that a hundred new dress ideas have come to mind!" Rarity says happily an oddly star like glow in her eyes..
Zero smiles as he follows carrying a large amount of gems as well for the group as they walked past. Zero noting some of the looks from the citizens as they walked into Carousel Boutique. Rarity pushes out a massive chest, as Zero helps fill it up, as well as 2 smaller boxes.
"I'm glad I was able to help... here.. ill carry that box for ya spike.. lets head on back to the library."

"Well Spike has plenty of food now. So hes going to be very happy for a while now." Twilight says as Zero nods. "Though the fact you verified all of what he said.. id have thought he exaggerated most of that story. Did you really do that whole boulder thing?"
Zero nods. "Its not complicated at all. Just force and angles." Zero replies smiling widely. "Now.. who to help next.."

The both turn to the door wondering if it would open again and yelp as once again it does. the pair watch Applejack as she wanders into the library.
"Well howdy there Twilight.. and hello Zero. Would you two mind helping me out at mah farm? Big Macintosh hurt himself again, and Ah don't think ah can buck all the apple trees fast enough."
"Alright we can help. Ready to go Zero?" Twilight asks as he nods. "Great. Lets see how you do."

[Loading: sweet apple Acres]
"Wow.. that's a lot of trees.." Zero says as he looks at them all. "Ok so what you need us to do, is get the apples from the top, without damaging the tree or the apples right?"
Applejack nods. "Yesserie that's right. And don't be worrying too much, they are Mighty hard to break."
"Hmm.. are they well rooted to the ground?" Zero asks examining a tree himself.
"Ah think so yeah. Go ahead and give a few practice whacks." Aj recommends.
"Looks like the best weapon for the job.. is no weapon at all." Zero says with a smirk as he dashes over and Gives the tree a solid Punch. He watches as a few apples fell and landed perfectly in buckets. "Ok.. need a little more force.."

The day was long but after the third tree Zero had figured out a system to get the apples down. While not as fast as Applejack, he wasn't as slow as twilight and the group got the apple orchard clear at a decent pace.
"this was a lot harder then Cutting boulders and gaining Gems for Spike and Rarity..." Zero admits as he sits down.
"So Mah trees are harder than boulders? That's mighty nice of ya to say." Aj says with a chuckle as Twilight sat down gasping.
"Gah... its so hot..." the unicorn gasps as she relaxes under shade.
"well Rainbow said it should be raining some time later on.. that should help you cool off." Aj says looking up. "Speaking of Rainbow.. hey dash!"
Zero glances up as a slightly worried Rainbow dash flies down. "Hey Aj, Twilight, and uh Zero. Have any of you seen.. Fluttershy lately? I went to warn her about the coming storm. But I can't find her anywhere."
"Storm? that's sounds a bit tougher than a little rain Dash." Aj remarks with a frown.
"Something came up in the schedule, we had to change plans. Ill go around and warn the others.. can you guys look around for Fluttershy?"
Zero nods as he stands up. "Any idea where she went?"

"Zero I think you should check Zecora's place, of all of us you should be the best match for getting in and out of the Everfree safely." Twilight says nodding. "your Metallic so you shoudl be immune to Petrification and Manticore poisons."
Zero nods. "Alright. Ill also be able to warn her about the storm, and wont need to worry about it myself. But.. why the rush?"
"Fluttershy takes care of a lot of animals remember?" Twilight reminds him. "Shes gotta make sure they are all safe and secured before she is safe herself."
"Ah that is not a very long time... how long before the storm hits?" Zero asks turning to Rainbow dash.
"ID say you have about 5 hours. Shes probably just at Zecora's place so head there first.." Dash comments trying to sound calm but still with worry in her voice.
"Ill look around town. Good luck Zero."

[Loading Everfree Forest]

The reploid gazes into the dark forest as he approaches it. It was apparent just by appearance why many ponies were scared of the place. Its entrance seemed to be like that of a large maw, with pitch blackness inside. Almost as if it wanted to swallow you whole. Who knows, perhaps it had swallowed some beings whole. Fluttershy was in there.. some where.
Zero nods to himself, he was no stranger to enemy filled forests.. even times he had to rush in and save people. Closing his eyes he thought back to one such forest, Dysis Forest as he reopens his eyes... A mental command triggers the saber in his hand as he slowly walks into the maw of the forest..
Instantly many of his units became useless.. Motion tracker.. stealth and ambush detection. there was too much life in the Forest for him to really be safe and methodical. sounds covered the area as he calms his over whelmed circuits. Setting his scans to Pony related settings as he follows the path before him. According to what Twilight had said, Zecora's home was deep inside, but followed the path still.
So the hero stuck to the path, staying careful and cautious as he looked around for any signs of the blond pegasus. Looking down he noticed tracks... hoof like tracks. they also seemed fairly fresh as was indicated by his heat sensors. "There you are..." the sight of the tracks had calmed the hero. Blinking at his own strange worry over the gentle little horse.. as he follows the tracks and path till they reached a hut.
Sure enough, there she was, exiting the building as Zero approached.
"OH! Mister Zero! What are you doing here?"
Zero smiles as she walks over. "Rainbow dash wanted me to find you. Said she wanted to warn you about a Big storm on the way. We have about 3 and a half hours before it hits."
"AH! oh no.. I gotta help my animals!"
"Don't worry ill help you out. but first lets get out of this place." Zero tilts his head. "by the way.. why are you in this.. dark dangerous looking place anyway?"
"OH! Zecora is a friend of ours who can make medicines. Angel bunny got sick.. so I came to ask Zecora to make a remedy for him." Fluttershy looks down. "I saw you and Twilight leave with Applejack, and I didn't want to be a bother.."
Zero smirks partially. "Trust me... you wouldn't ave been. you could have completely dragged Twilight out of the area and barely slowed us down. Inf act without twilight there we might have only had another half hour added work." Zero smiles gently at her.
"oh... ok... I'm sorry I worried every pony."
Zero shrugs. "No worries. lets just get ya home and your animals to safety.

[Ponyville Library]
"thanks for finding Fluttershy Zero, I'm really glad shes going to be alright." Rainbow says happily.
"Zero has done a lot of helping today. HE helped gather Gems with Rarity, helped Applejack gather apples, Got Fluttershy out of the Everfree, and even helped her put her animals back." Twilight says smiling widely. "I shoudl totally share this with the princess! SPIKE! Oh where is that dragon..." Twilight says as she wanders upstairs.
"Wow.. so you have done a lot today. You totally deserve some rest." Rainbow says smirking.
".. it was no real trouble. I enjoyed the challenges... different ways to think of my talents and skills." Zero says smiling as he thought back.
"Well I'm gonna go help the weather team tame that storm. See you tomorrow.." Rainbow says as she dashes out of an open window.
Zero watches her exit while listening to Twilight as she attempted to Awaken a happily stuffed Spike. He slowly heads back to the basement to the table he'd begun sleeping on as he lays down on it and closes his eyes......

The room was dark, my mind full of the sensation of pain, anger, anguish, rage. Desire to simply destroy everything...
"ZERO! STOP THIS NOW!"
The voice got my attention as I turned and saw X, the real X, not the fake one id been fighting.
"NO! DON'T MAKE ME TERMINATE YOU!" X shouts not noticing my confused expression as I looked down, and saw myself in my arms. Looking up I hear laughter as X fades away replaced by the man of my nightmares.
"Zero... once again you fail to remember your purpose. You where made to kill and conquer..." The shadow of the man looms over me yet again. "Now go. That's an order."

"I am who you are supposed to be." I watch as the image fades and Omega appears. "A monster. Made to destroy things. What was it the doctor called us? Ah yes.. a blood thirsty god of Destruction. But we are also a sword of Vengeance. Tell me... now that you have seen the side of the accused mavericks, do you regret any actions as a hunter?"

I tried to speak but no words came out as omega chuckles happily.
"You don't. Not a single one, not even when you slaughter all of repliforce." Omega smiles darkly. "Do you remember how it felt holding Iris as she lost her power? Do you remember the intense rage as you cut down the general? OR do you really believe you put all of that behind you because of sigma?"
"Why... Why do you haunt me with all of this?" I managed to ask.
"Simple. I am but the destructive programming, lay dormant within your mind. Your fears, your curses, every negative aspect of your being combined with the knowledge of your Robot Master heritage gave birth to me. Of course, it also gave birth to your other aspect.. "Then WHY DID YOU KILL REPLIFORCE?" Omega asks forcefully. "They where also innocent. Yet YOU cut them down yourself. That was no difference from Neo Arcadia." Omega folds his arms. "Or perhaps.. that's the real reasoning... the true reason, the underlying never ending guilt for your mistakes... perhaps that's why you helped the 'innocent' resistance. To make up for the fact you killed off innocents yourself. Not that they where the first.. or last.."

Omega faded away as another Zero appeared. This one like my Hunter self. "He has a point, yet is also wrong. You remember don't you? You gave the colonel a choice, in fact the only reason you stood against repliforce, was that they had taken over many cities, declaring war on the hunters. IF they where truely innocent, X would never have stood against them would he?" The hunter smiles. "X was and always has been our guiding light. So we made mistakes, so we have some blood on our hands. WE did what was right for the people of the world." He pats my shoulder. "You and X, are the only ones who can truly see this... as for Iris... that was an accident. She attacked us, not the other way around. We did not mean to kill her, it was accidental."

I nod as that part of my memory returns.

"We may have been made for destruction... but we still used that destructive force to save lives. Never forget that. The sword may always be a weapon, but it is the one who wields the sword, who decides its fate. You are a sword with a will."

I watches as The Third Zero vanishes leaving me in the darkness alone.. I blink as the shadows begin to fade,, as conciousness begins to return.

"ZERO! Come on! get up get up! Gah how are you so lazy?"

Zero mumbles as he sits up blinking as he registers the voice and face of Twilight Sparkle.
"It takes time or my systems to come online miss Sparkle. Nonetheless.. who did you say was arriving?" Zero asks as he slides off the table. Following the unicorn outside as his systems run morning diagnostics.
"The princess got my letter and decided to depart instantly. She should be arriving in a few hours." Twilight says as she zooms about.
"?? why are you so worried? shes your teacher right? besides its not like anyone has done anything wrong." Zero blinks. "Right?"

Spike wanders over. " Oh shes like this every time. Don't worry about it." the dragons says with a yawn and stretch.
"AH YOU TWO!" Zero and the dragon look over at the unicorn, her tal swishing irritably as books fly around her. "Stop standing around and help me clean!"

"Twilight, I thought you were gonna send Zero to go get the girls?" Spike asks holding up a long piece of paper. "See? its on your checklist."

"OH! AH your right I totally forgot. RIGHT." Twilight yelps sounding increasingly panicked. "See you soon Zero."
Zero blinks as he is practically tossed out of the library by her magic.
"Wow... shes strong when shes panicked.." Zero murmers. "Mental note: never get on her bad side." Blinking he turns as he watches a rainbow blur shoot across the sky. "Well that's as good a start as any I suppose.."

"Alright. We made it. Wow.. and it only took an hour or so." Zero says smiling.
"I could have done it faster.." Rainbow dash says smirking as she flew around.
"I spent the whole trip Following you miss Dash.." Zero returns with a slight sigh. "So lets see the princess is gonna be arriving from THAT direction right?"

Rarity nods as they all watch.
"Oh Hey I can see them. Right in the horizon.." Zero says smiling as his Far vision takes effect, as he looks the carriage over. "Wow.. that's awesome. Looks like Both princesses are on the way.. and wait a moment.." Zero frowns. "Miss Fluttershy? I think there is a problem with the Dragon flying with them."

"Dragon? What dragon?" Spike asks looking.
"D-d.. dragon?" Fluttershy asks.. her eyes going big as she shrinks down. Zero's eyebrows raise as the most adorable scared sound came from the little pegasus.
"So then Dragons don't normally follows ponies around? I thought with how Twilight and spike are, that it would be natural for a giant red dragon to follow the princesses." Zero says as he turns again.
"A.. d-dragon.. and its G-giant?" Fluttershy murmers her voice becoming more and more high pitched.

Twilight walks over and looks confused.
"Twilight dear? Uhm... Zero says there is a dragon following the princesses." Rarity says as Twilight blinks.
"Why would one do that?" She asks turning and following Zero's line of sight.. the sight of a jet of flame as the carriage dodges out of the way was obvious for all of them. "OH NO!"

"So then.. I take it this isn't natural?" Zero asks with a soft tone.
"We need ot help them! Lets go girls!" Twilight calls as they almost all rush off.
"L-lets...not.. Oh my... -squeak-" Fluttershy softly calls shaking as Zero looks over.

"Zero? Aren't you going to help them?" Fluttershy and Zero both blink as they turn..
"X!"
Zero gasps seeing the blue reploid floating there.
"Zero.. im sorry I lied to you... but you must understand I did it to help everyone."
Zeo shakes his head. "I understand. besides, I couldn't keep leaning on you. I had to.. act alone." Zero replies softly.
"Zero... I assume you know why your here then?"
Zero nods. "to escape battle. yet... even in one without technology... struggle still follows me."
"What will you do then?"

"Mister zero.." Zero looks down at Fluttershy. "It's ok if you don't want to fight. You are here to rest right? Leave this problem to us." HE watches as the terrified pegasus. forces herself up and runs after the other elements of harmony.
"Shes right.. its not your world." X says watching.

"It's like the resistance. Elplizo also gave me a choice..." Zero says in thought. He turns seeing the carriage getting closer. "While appearing in battle is not the best of first impressions.. Its better than leaving the battle to the girls." Zero smiles as he shrugs. "Hell.. it worked for Ciel, and the human settlers. Who says it won't work for ponies as well?"

"Alright... that's the Zero I know. Ah yes.. your Boot chip WILL allow you to stand on clouds like a pegasus.. Now go help Celestia." X proudly states as he vanishes.
"... how does he know about the clouds? Wait.. he knows the princess' name?" Zero sighs. "X... you really need to stop this sorta thing.."

Zero could hear the impatience in Rainbow's voice as he walks over.
"Let me think! We need a plan! I can't think of a plan if you keep shouting at me."

"I have a few suggestions if you don't mind." Zero speaks up walking over. laughign as the purple unicorn and Flutterhsy jump in surprise.
"M-Mister Zero!?" Fluttershy squeaks. "I.. You... you don't need to help us.."
"Yes I do. Not out of any form of duty, but because I am choosing to. Besides.. I never have been able to resist women in distress." the reploid gives a lopsided grin. "So want my plan?"
Twilight sighs and nods. "Give us your best. Zero."

"It's simple. Get me on the carriage and I fight the dragon off." Zero states calmly. "If I remember the text books. the carriages are made with a field that prevent unicorn and pegasus magic from being used. It's a long shot but my talents might still work." Zero looks over. "I'm thinking Twilght teleports me and rainbow part of the way and then Rainbow carries me over, drops me on the carriage, and I handle the dragon from there. With Rainbow being my flight back up." Zero grins. "You can handle that right Dash?"

"Uh no offense but your kinda heavy Zero." Applejack points out looking up. "I don't think Rainbow can carry yah that high."

"reploids in rest state are heavy because their Anti gravity energy is not activated. I'm 75% lighter now than I was then." Zero replies. "All she has to do is drop me then keep an eye on me. Shouldn't be to hard for the Fastest flyer in equestria."

"OH YEAH! I am so ready!" Dash says happily.
"When did you learn to push her buttons like that?" Aj asks with a head tilt.
"Observation."

"Remember years ago when we talked about the design on these things? How we agreed to put magic dampeners on it?" The princess of the moon asks looking over. "Remember when I said that we need to deflect other forms of magic?"

"yes yes I remmeber sister.." Celestia says rolling her eyes as her sister took the oppertunity to mentally take down the sun goddess.
"Remember when you said there was. 'no reason to be so overly panicked? Remember how you said no 'other magical being would every try to harm US? "
Celestia sighs as Dragon flame flies above. "We have a peaceful accord with the dragons.. why would one attack us? Look at it sister. It's eyes seem odd.."
Luna blinks as she turns and yelps. "Uh sister.. what is that?"

Rainbow couldn't help her smirk as she saw the surprised expressions on the princesses face as she flew Zero and as he landed down. The reploid drawing out his pistol as he drew energy into his weapon, and green bursts of energy flew out, striking the dragon in the snout.
"You must have some real balls to attack the rulers of the sun and moon Scale boy." Zero says in a fairly light tone. "Nice to meet you princesses, allow me to handle this.."
"So this is Zero..." the Dark blue one says with a blink as the white and rainbow haired one nods.
"It seems so... Twilight did say he was being educated." The more regal queen of the sun says in an amused tone. "Now about what you said Luna?"
"Id rather be protected.. but im glad someone can help us." Luna admits as she watches Zero.

Zero did his best practically ignoring the royal sisters, not out of rudeness... but in an effort to stay concentrated. He had to admit he was impressed as the Pegasus guards moved up and down avoiding the flames. but their tactic made it harder for Zero to time his shots. "This is gonna be risky, but my buster isn't doing much... welp... lets see how this works." Zero says as he charges energy into his saber, the green blade pouring out as he waits for the guard to reach his top altitude... and jumps off, Swinging down his blade and smashing it down upon the Wing and watching as he cut through a weak point. Though as he watched the wing fall and held onto the dragons claw as it screams in pain, he had to admit he had one massive flaw in his plan as he rode the dragon to the ground. Thankfully rainbow was just as fast as she claimed to be, letting the reploid jump away to safety. Gazing down he watches as the dragon slams into the ground. "That should take care of that for now." Zero says as he and Rainbow follow the carriage back to Ponyville.

Zero gazes down from his position as Rainbow lets him drop from above as he and the cyan pegasus join most of the elements and the princesses..
(thought Fluttershy is missing..) Zero thought as the Solar Princess walks over.
"Thank you for your hard work saving us from that dragon." She says in a shockingly soft voice that made Twilight do a strange.. side to side wobble.
"IT was no trouble, however the battle is not over yet." Zero nods. "I must request that you take shelter with the elements of harmony."
"Not over?" The cyan pegasus yells flying into Zero's line of sight. "You cut off its wing and it fell from WAY up high! A pony would die from that height!"

"Rainbow.. we are talking about a strong muscled, Scaled Dragon. Not a pony, and I doubt that fall did much damage. Considering how light gravity is in this world.. I'd say the dragon is already on its feet and angry."
"Still why not take the elements? Surely their power can calm the dragon down.." Celestia says in thought.
"That would not be possible... I saw its eyes.." Zero replies softly.
"Aye.. Sister.. Sir Zero is correct. From what I saw of its eyes as well... its as if it had died long ago." The moon princess looks to Zero. "To know those eyes.. means to know... do you remember the pain of possession?"
Zero nods. "that I do.. Princess... So you understand than as well... would that be because of your time as Nightmare Moon?"
"Yes... if not for my own godhood... Id be dead myself." Some of the elements gasped at the admission. "Do not take the monster lightly. A mad beast is most dangerous in this state."
"I am most aware of that... I shall be back soon." Zero announces as he turns to walk towards the dragons falling point.

He had barely taken 5 steps as three things happened simultaneously. the first was a Loud crash of something falling, followed by ponies screaming the loudest being the missing element. Zero watches As he sees Fluttershy cower as a large column of smoke flows from the forest.
The dragon slowly walking out as it towers over the panicked pegasus.
"You... I remember you, You and your friends Chased me out of my home. Who would have thought that now I would be able to pay you back for that insult."
"sorry scales, not gonna happen." Zero yells without thought as he rushes over.
"Ah and then there is YOU again. Must you interrupt my every attempt at a meal?" The dragon asks irritably.

"I had friends modeled after dragons. I was told the dragons where a strong proud race. Yet here one is... going after weak and innocent little ponies. I hope the other dragons can make up for your pathetic cowardice." Zero says angrily as he thought of Magma Dragoon.
"You... how.. DARE YOU TALK TO MY LIKE THAT! Im going to KILL YOU!" The dragon yells infuriated.
"Yeah right.. give it your best shot Weakling." Zero says darkly. "Fluttershy, get back, this dragon is gone. I could already see how weak his mind was, when I saw the possession in his eyes. Go get to the others."
"Ah... mister.. Zero.. I can't move.." Fluttershy says softly.
"Hmm.. alright.. Ill buy you time. As soon as you can.. get out of here."

"STOP TALKING AND DIE!" The monster roars as it blasts a jet of flame towards the Hunter. It gasps as its flames fade, revealing a simple green shield.
"You can shut up. I'm busy." Zero says darkly. "Now I'm going to teach you a lesson."
[CUE MVC3 THEME]

Zero rushes forward, a blur of his hair vanishing from Fluttershy's gaze as she watches his saber Snap on... the dragons claw slamming down to crush where the hunter had been moments ago. As rocks and debris pelted her body. She let out a squeak as she saw Zero leap on to the arm, and then off, as he brought his saber down in a great Jade explosion. The dragon's eyes going wide as it stumbles from the smaller man's blow. Energy seemed to start flowing into Zero's body as he cut at the Dragon's stuck hand on the floor. The monster struggles, yet only manages to dig his claws in even further until it ripped out a large chunk of earth... crushing the dirt and grass under its claws as it swung its second hand to the side. A big mistake, as Zero turned, and used the momentum of the arm to Cleave off the great scaled hand.
Reddish-green blood flowed out of the wound as its yells became even louder. Zero stood watching, as the monster's eyes flashed oddly... "So that's what he meant by.. sign of possession.." She murmurs as she struggled to her feet, she had almost made it when the earth shock hard, the dragon was off balance as it was struck from the side. The slowly weakening reptilian monster now fighting blinded by fury, as trees were slammed constantly. So caught up in the sight of the furious monster, that Fluttershy yelped as she saw Zero work to help her stand.
"I'm sorry I cant save the dragon. It's mind is under dark control. IF it makes you feel better, think of it as a zombie. Something that had died long ago, a parasite possessing its noble body. A noble body that I'm going to put to rest." She looked and saw the sad gaze to his eyes... with a flash of internal pain as the hunter rushes back to the dragon. The weak and exhausted monster slowing its flailing as it watched Zero approach. The dragon's eyes flash again.. "I'm sorry I insulted you... now its time for you to rest. I will find who did this to you. Don't worry, you will not be forgotten." Zero's spear arrived as he saw the dragon's gaze change, a revealing of its old self as it seems to nod in understanding. A tear formed in its great eyes as it watched the spear come down upon its skull.
Turning the pegasus saw the other elements arriving, as they gathered around the pegasus, thought three sets of eyes focused on the hunter as he dropped from the side, paying respects to the dragon, before watching as it began to fade out. The magical being returning to its magical roots. Closing his eyes... he heard a soft voice whisper thanks to him.

Zero stood as he waited in the library as Spike sat next to him.
"I can't understand what sort of magic could have that affect." Spike says simply. "I mean not to toot my own horn, but We dragons are Incredibly resistant to magic. We need to willingly submit to a user before it has real affect. Thats why only Twilight, Rarity, and Celestia can affect me."
"So either this being is powerful enough to Force its way through, or its someone connected to the dragon." Zero responds. "Assuming its magical in nature. Twilight's Vir- Sickness Theory could be correct.." Zero let out a shudder as the word Virus went through his mind. He knew it wasn't his fault, he had never met the dragon, nor was the dragon mechanical anyway. Still those eye flashes.. felt so similar to the Sigma maverick Virus... he couldn't shake the similarities out of his mind.
"Princess Luna also stated it could be the Nightmare energy as well. IF something is powerful enough to affect an Alicorn it would surely affect a dragon, no matter how old." Spike adds blind to Zero's movements. "Still makes me wonder if I'm affected."
Zero shakes his head. "No. besides...it seems to need and feed off of negative energy. the dragon mentioned being chased out of its home by Fluttershy."
"AH so it was THAT dragon? Yeah I remember that... here is what twilight told me...."

"Celestia.. it has been a long time."
Zero eyes widen as he turns to see a small yellow elf flying about.
"X!" Zero says in surprise as the Older hunter revealed himself.
"Mister reploid.. I remember now.. So you are the one called X." Celestia says surprised.
"Wait so X is mister Reploid? AH I REMEMBER! YOUR THE GREEN SWORDSMAN!" Twilight says in shock.
"excuse me?" Zero asks confused.
"We will explain later Zero. For now. I wanted to tell you a few shocking things.."

X stops and then blinks as the other ponies wobble. "I'm sorry that was the best way to say such. In any case... I came here before and met Celestia and her sister, while they where children. I also came to give you this.. information on those Form chips Ciel made for you, as well as one chip I made myself. Please forgive me for this Zero. Do your best in this world. Zero watches as X vanishes. "Damn hes already gone..." He frowns. "What was that all about?"
"I wish I knew myself. Zero, please keep me informed on what you find." Celestia asks as she and her strangely quiet and seemingly shrunken sister depart towards Canterlot. "Elements of Harmony. Go with Zero to the Palace of the Solar Sisters."

"ACK like you even had to ask. We were SO TOTALLY gonna go anyway. Even if Zero asked us to stay wed just sneak behind him anyway." Rainbow says as Zero raises his eye brows.
"Did you forget I was here miss Dash?" the Reploid asks As Dash circles over.
"Nah I'm just saying that telling us to stay would be incredibly pointless. "The rainbow maned pony says softly.

"Well simmer down, were not leaving today. I used a lot of energy in that battle,and besides.. I want to learn about this.. 'green swordsman Mister Reploid' Thing.

Zero watches as The princesses left the area.

"Palace of the Solar Sisters.." Zero murmurs. "X... Celestia.. what are you two planning?"

"Hmm that name.. its familiar.. Come on girls, lets go look stuff up." Twilight says as she and the others run back into the library. Zero stood still though as he gazes at the sky in thought... he wondered how many of the stars he could see, where Luna's magic, and which where real.

"Mister Zero? Are you alright?" A calm voice asks as the reploid turns. "you seem distant."
"I'm alright Miss Fluttershy, just wondering what X has planned.. none of what he said made any sense.. what did he mean when he said 'sorry I lied to you.' I just wish he would stop being so cryptic." Zero blinks and turns to her. "Your not hurt at all are you?"

"Hmm? Ah no I'm fine,, just got hit by a couple rocks.. but it could have been worse." Fluttershy smiles softly. "Thank you for rescuing me."
"Your welcome. Im just glad no one was hurt." Zero says softly still deep in thought.
"Well that is what the Green swordsman did too." Fluttershy replies with a happy expression. "The green swordsman and mister Reploid where hero stories for us. Said to be incredibly old stories from another world. The Alicorns of that age had alot of trouble translating much of the work, but its meaning was simple. "

"You think it really was about me and X?" Zero turns his curiosity sparked.
"It's possible. We called the swords man, Green because of his sword color. He also had to run around and beat up alot of people, including people he didn't want to. But no matter what challenges arose he always stood by Mister Reploid. I got teased once in flight school, cause I felt sorry for the man." Fluttershy murmurs softly. "He did all of that work, and paid so many bad prices, yet only Mister Reploid got any credit. All the swordsman got, was fear."

"X was the one in the lime light, but I was okay with that." Zero comments as he looks to the sky. "I never wanted to be seen as a hero, because I rarely thought what I did was heroic. Sure I helped save the wold numerous times, but I never wanted a reward. I saw it as my duty, my responsibility as a Maverick Hunter. To keep people and robots safe. Besides, X loved the attention, so I let him have it. Though he always tried to send us all a bit of thanks" The hunter closes his eyes in reminiscence. "Even when.. I was forced to fight the one person who meant everything in the world to me."

"You mean Miss Flower? The green swordsman loved a Flower woman, but after he defeated Flower's brother, he had to fight a grief stricken Flower." Fluttershy nods softly.
"Her name was Iris, and yeah that sounds just like me. Looks like you all know a lot of my story already." Zero chuckles in thought.

"There is a big difference between reading the story of a man, and then having that man right there..." The pegasus points out as she looks back to see Twilight and the others had been watching.

"Hate to interrupt Zero, but that can't be right. The green swordsman Died multiple times." Twilight points out as she and the others wander over.

"I had many close brushes with death, I'm sure many of them resulted in Death reports from Head quarters." Zero responds softly. "I'm wondering.. if I could find that story myself some time.. give more details on actual events." Zero finishes the thought with a smirk. "You shoudl have seen me after Sigma almost blasted me in half. It hurt, but I some how put myself back together again, Now I know its one of my talents."

"So you can.. regenerate.. interesting idea.." Twilight says in thought. "Anyway. We found the information." Twilight looks at the other ponies as they gather about. "You all remember that old castle we went to, where we found the Elements of Harmony? It turns out that is the very place we have to get to this time." Twilight nods as she opens her book. "The princesses had many castles and areas around and the one we need is the one right near by. " She closes the book. "At least I'm hoping that's the one.. the other Solar Sister palaces are in even worse repair, and are MILES away from our location."

"Right it wouldn't be logical to send the heroes of Pony ville on a Long running mission when something could go wrong as they are missing." Zero acknowledges. "Are we ready to depart now?"

Twilight frowns. "Normally id suggest we wait a bit, but with all we now know, you being the green swordsman, and the involvement of Mister rep- I mean.. X and the princess.. we should try to hurry." The unicorn says softly.

" While I detest the idea of taking that long dirty route again.. I can't help but feel excited about seeing that castle again. What with not worrying about Nightmare moon, I might actually get to look around."

"Well what are we waiting for, lets go!" Rainbow yells impatiently.

"We cant go instantly Rainbow. " Zero adds in thought. "We should send word to family, and Fluttershy has some last moment errands to complete I'm sure. " He turns to face Apple Jack and Rarity. "You shoudl know better than to think you can just Rush off into danger without telling them whats happening." The two mares blink and then nod in agreement. "Lets take a few hours to say good byes, and gather supplies. " Zero gazes as they both hurry to get things done as Twilight got to work on a fast checklist. "Twilight, it would not be remiss to let Princess Celestia know we have left towards the castle. If its not the right one I'm sure she will let us know while we are on the way." The purple unicorn blinks then nods as She lists off a quick letter to Spike who wrote and sent it in record time.

"How could those two have known each other, why is a story of my life.. here? Why did that Dragon's gaze remind me of the Virus? "He frowns as his questions go unanswered as he watches Pinkie Pie return first with a small bag that could be holding who knew what. The hyper active pony sitting down and pulling out a random cupcake and chewing on it in thought. Rainbow dash appeared second and spent her time flying about doing tricks, the concept of calm waiting, lost on the active pegasus. Despite being the farthest, Fluttershy arrived third with her own bag of things. Mostly medical supplies,
"In case some pony or some little creature gets hurt.. and needs help." She had said smiling.
"Good thinking Fluttershy" Zero praises with a smile as Twilight arrived. Rarity soon appeared in an overly dress but probably fashionable outfit. Not that Zero understood pony fashion, he hadn't even understood reploid or human fashion. To many clothes just got in the way of battle. Though Rarity did bring many other items, such as blankets or protective clothes for the others as well. Applejack was last but had the most experience with these types of exploration, as such she bought plenty of food, climbing materials, ropes, and other various exploration tools.

"So Twilight. Can we go now?" Rainbow asks as she glides down but doesn't touch the ground.
"Yep check list is clear, Spike lets get going." She calls as the dragon hops onto her back.

"Alright then.. off we go." Zero says as he follows from behind. Merely because he did not know the way.

The hall way was dimly lit as he ran forward. Zeros hair flowing behin dhim as teh lights faded out, though teh glow of his saber gave him plenty of vision, the green hue seemed strange on teh walls around him. Stopping for amoment he looks behind, wishing his friends where here with him, but only he could be here. Barriers of magic and technology that had halted all but him. The hunter shakes his head to clear his mind, as the trek was continued. Scanners revealed a gradual dip a temperature began to drop, the light of his saber showing less and less as the hall spread wider. Soon, he could only see himself, as the wall spread out wider than his visual scan range. His foot steps know echoed for longer periods as he looked about.

HE was only half surprised when the Sound of a Gate slamming down filled the room behind him. " a trap.. figured."
"Yet you came anyway."
Zero blinks hearing his own voice as he looked to see the glow of a similar sword, though this one glowed with magic, and was the style of a katana. Though this one was in the jaws of a pegasus. Red main and blond hair, covered in battle scars. "nice to meet you.. Faker."

"Not exactly. Though I now understand the discrepancies in our stories. Your a pegasus, im a robot. " Zero replies as the Pegasus circles around him. "You must be Green Swordsman then correct?"

"Yes....the name you stole while I was asleep." The pony growls softly. "How dare you take the deeds of Reploid and I and claim them as your own."

"Perhaps I should ask you the same. X and I worked hard to keep our world safe. Yet here is some pony who claims it was all their work. Show me your proof." Zero had a slight growl to his voice.

"Show me yours." The pegasus replied before jumping slightly as Zero's head jewel began to glow.
"Rarity taught me this.. look.. on the floor. my Memories."

The pegasus looks down as he watches the memories. "Enough.. here is my proof. Here a journal enchanted by Celestia herself."
zero takes the book and sees similar magic.
"IT is interesting to see.. such similar and different memories.." the hunter muses passing the book back.
"same to you, id suggest trickery but.. there are so many differences... Rarity.. who exactly is she? I had not heard such a name before." Green asks as he sits down.

"She is a barer of the elements of harmony. she holds Generosity. She and her friends restored Nightmare moon, as well as Defeated the barrier of Chaos discord." Zero replies.

"Nightmare moon.. I was in that battle working with Reploid to slow her men down... what happened?"
Zero shrugs. "As the story is told, Celestia sealed Princess Luna in the moon for a thousand years, and when she came back, her student Twilight sparkle gathered a group of 6 ponies and together they used the elements to restore night mare moon back into her Luna state."

"So.. The elements did restore her then.. " Green closes his eyes. "I knew she had some good left in her, I was worried about the princess when she tried to take in Two ponies worth of HIGH magic into her self. I must admit though, im a bit ashamed to have missed Discord's return." The pegasus flaps his scarred wings. "Id have loved to challange that one to a battle."

"According to Twilight most of his time was involving random chaos and games." Zero comments as the room began to get brighter.

"Ah thats a shame... would have been a glorious battle."
The heroes both nod in though as they turn to see the sun peak through a revealed hole in teh wall.

"so.. a thousand years have passsed.."

"Why not go see the world?" Zero suggests. "Much has changed im sure, I can handle the heroics, until you are ready, and then we can work as a team."

"perhaps.. I had thought I would battle a fake, but now that I know our deeds are so similar, I feel my body is not up to it as of yet. Next time perhaps..." The pegasus stretches out his wings. "Would you do me a favor though? Well three actually."

"What do you ask?"

"take my sword, tell no one but your most trusted of my.. awakening. third.. keep this world safe for me."

Zero nods. "Understood. Take no worry of this world. I shall work with the elements to keep it safe."

"Please also inform the princesses if you can safely.. use our blades in the name of peace and justice."

Zero watches as his Equine counterpart spreads out his wings,, and flew out the hole in the dungeon. Taking up the hero's sword the hunter follows and gazes down to see a wide waterfall.

"ZERO!"
The reploid looks up as he saw his band of friends. Twilight sparkle's face lit up as she saw the swords Zero held. Harpuia also appeared before as he hovers before the entrance.

"Ah.. you are safe after all.. That equine escaping form.. was that?"

Zero nods. "Yes.. a great hero has set off to see what has changed in his world."

"YAY THIS CALLS FOR A PARTY!" Pinkie says from behind the hunter.
"When he comes back yes.. no fun to give him a party when he is not here." Zero says with a chuckle. "WE can make it a super special surprise for Ponyville as well when hes back."
"OOOH I LOVE THAT IDEA! YES YES YES!." Pinkie Pie bounced about almost falling off the ledge, but saved by Harpuia. "Thanks harpy!"

"No trouble.. and please.. don't call me that.." Zero smirks as he watched the guardian blush slightly at the nick name use.
"alright everyone .. lets get back home. We need to tell Fluttershy about our trip after all."

Light flows down from holes in the canopy, as beams of sun shine invade the darkness of the forest. The sun light, gazing down upon the ancient ruins. Ruins of what had once been a grand castle or a world wonder of Equestria.

But none of that mattered to him as he rushed forward, blond hair whipping about behind him as his boots propulsion systems shoot him forward. Screams and yells from behind him seemed to die down instead leading to calls for him instead. Though as he concentrated… he heard a softer call from ahead… before he could focus on that one... the sound of rocket thrusters sounded behind him drawing the hunter back to reality…
“Good, that means I’m the target then.” The hunter says with a smirk as he turns, facing an old enemy. He was used to these types of Golem Mechanaloid as it had all the usual works. Powerful fists, Laser beams from its eyes, high speed propulsion, and a heavy body with which to ram most targets to destruction. Only now, this robot was covered in Vines as earth had taken her toll on the metal monster. Cracks flow down its body, but it was still enough to resist the Saber’s edge.
Zero Omega ducks as it rushes forward with its fist, diving to the side as the machine struck down a tall tree. He cringes at the sight of the mechanaloid ripping its hand out a tree that was thicker than the ones in sweet apple acres. Sure he was in a forest, with thousands of trees, but thanks to his friends, he saw them as much more than just giant spears of wood. He saw them as animal homes, strong guardians, Rarity used leaves as inspiration, Apple Jack had an orchard of apple trees. Hell Twilight Sparkle LIVED in one. So while at one time he may have questioned the strange rage over the destruction of the tree, Zero was now struck by rage as he jumps up, tapping a tree lightly with his foot as he leaps upwards. Using a pair of trees like he had used walls, he kicked himself up high until he soared above the Mechanaloid. Drawing out his Triple rod in mid air he launches himself down, Shoving the spear down the robots throat. Pulling his spear out and back flipping just in time to avoid the small explosion of struck gases and electricity. A tiny gasp catches his attention as he turns to see his new friends rushing over.

“THAT WAS AWESOME! You used the trees,,, you jumped OFF the trees and then... BAM! RIGHT IN THE FACE!” Rainbow crows out happily as she pantomimed the action with her hooves and wings. Zero smiles softly at the energetic cyan Pegasus before turning to Fluttershy.

“I hope no animals got hurt in that...” The shy canary Yellow Pegasus says softly as Zero shakes his head.
“I don’t think any of them where around. I’m sure if I heard THAT giant around, I know I’d high tail out of there if I didn’t have the power to cut it down of course...” Zero replies simply, hoping to reassure her.
“He’s got a point Fluttershy, that thing was VERY loud and noisy. Even you started to run when we heard it.” A purple colored Unicorn says walking over. “Honestly I’m a bit disappointed.. id hopped to capture and study that machine..”
“Twi? You live with ZERO. The Green Swordsman himself. Besides where would you put that monster?” Spike reminds the enthusiastic scholar. “Why not just ask Zero about what it was?”
“Because then he’d give a logical response and make it not as awesome seeming.” Rainbow replies with a wide grin.
“Actually Rainbow…” Zero starts as he looks about. “These guys don’t have any mundane uses. THESE giants are all about Fire power. There are three types and one like this usually has Thunder attacks. The next has Flame throwers and uses enhanced Fire attacks. Lastly there is the Ice one that shoots out Spikes made of ice, as well as create a giant ball of ice that it attempts to crush you with.”

“SpikesmadeofIce?” A hyper Pink bundle asks as it bounces around. “Youcan’tmakeadragonoutofIcesillybilly! Thenitwouldn’tbeabletobreathfire!”
“Wrong type of Spike Pinkie.” Zero says as he watched Twilight face-hoof. “Im talking about the tall pointy stabby version. Not the dragon version.”
“ohIgetitnow!Okiedokielokie!Butwhywouldanyonewanttouseiceonesofthose?” Pinkie asks as she tilts her head. “ITwouldbeIcesoitwouldprobablymeltifitgottohot.”
“Well Pinkie there are many reasons…” Zero starts until he sees the ponies glance at him. “None that are good though. Don’t mess around with any spike traps ok? They are VERY dangerouse… even I go out of my way to avoid them completely.” He gives a slight shudder. “Spikes… Spikes hurt... a lot.”
“Well I for one vote that we get back to work... this dirty forest is completely ruining my coat. Gah why do I even bother trying to loo FABULOUS if I’m just going to be walking around in dirt all day?” Rarity, the almost pure white and purple haired unicorn says with a sigh.
“Because if your gonna do dirty work, you might as well look good doing it?” Zero asks with a raised eye brow.
Rarity blinks and then beams happily. “Ah your right! I am a fashionista. Even if work is hard there is no excuse for a bad wardrobe!” She turns to the ruins happily. “Now then gals, Spike, and Zero. Lets check out those ruins!”

Zero watches as the fashion pony charges off as everyone but Fluttershy Follow her. “Your learning a lot about us Very fast… you even made Rarity happy that she was getting dirty… but you look worried.. is something wrong?”
“Yes, there is in fact Fluttershy. Why was that golem here?” Zero asks as he looks to the sky. “It makes no sense.. and why did it look so old?”
“So that enemy was from your world? That explains how you knew so much about it..” Fluttershy remarks calmly as the two of them walk to the ruins.
“X knows celestia… X and Celestia send us here… then as we appear… that Golem pops up and tries to kill us…” Zero lists in thought. “The question for all of this... Is why? None of it makes sense...”
“Celestia has always wanted the best for us. You know and trust in X. I’m sure everything will make sense soon… at least im hoping it will…” The canary Pegasus shivers. “Actually I’d just settle for getting out of this forest…”
Zero chuckles as he and the timid one hurry to catch up as they stop at the gate of the ruin. OR more importantly what Zero saw was a gate. AS Twlight and company did a run through discussion of their last adventure here, Zero just walks up to the door. “Cool. This is easy.”
“Zero? What do you mean the door is on the other side of the-“ Twilight starts before watching as the wall slid to the side... with an odd hissing sound. “How did you? That’s not on any of the blue prints…”
“What a surprise… its my sort of door I guess that they are obvious to me… because I know to look for them. Designs in bases needed simpler door designs to keep the hall way as wide and clear as possible for larger beings. This type of door is also harder to force or knock down as it is part of the wall.” Zero explains for the moment.
“Just like that mechana whatever from before… you said its from your world… why is a door youcan open here as well?” Fluttershy asks as The others suddenly start to think.
“I have a strange theory, but I can’t be sure… because its too insane. I wonder… if I ever really left home…” Zero murmers in thought. “What if… this is in fact my world… only… later on.” Zero turns to Twilight. “You guys might be the future of my world. IT would explain the ancient mechanaloid, as well as why this door is here. That and how you know my story, as well as why X and Celestia know each other...”
“Normally id say that sort of idea was insane. But that’s what it all looks like so far…” Twilight admits.
“This hall... I know it…” Zero’s eyes widen as the lights hit and he let out a loud swear. “No…. this… its impossible… This room… it was destroyed.”

Zero found himself on his knees as he looked once again around a room he knew so well. The room he had fought Omega in… the room he had been sealed within. HE could still see in his minds eye… that horror…as he learned of his fake body but true mind. He closes his eyes as he projects his memories for the others too see…

The memory that first came was the memory of his awakening here… the first time he had met Ciel as she had been attacked by the Neo Arcadian Soldiers. Zero stands up with a seriouse gaze as he looks about… and follows his own steps. Only a slight gasp and hooves on metal work told Zero that he was followed. AS he ran after his past self… he heard his companions gasp as they ran across digital copies of the enemies Zero had fought back then. Though once it was apparent that they where mere illusion, they where able to focus much better on following the lost hunter. Finally Zero reached the collapsed cliff.. below was where he fought the first Golem, and first entered the Resistance base.

Zero gazed down before turning to face the others. “This… is the place where it all began again. After I had first learned… that the Virus program could never actually be cured. Id attempted to remove it by cutting off its core impact. By sealing myself into a deep sleep. I thought that if we got rid of the cause, then the Symptoms and illness would soon follow.” Zero gives a half smile “but as usual. No one ever just leaves me alone do they? They had even gone so far as to remove my mind, and implant it into a new body, change my place of rest, and my old body had even been stolen and used for war.” He glances about again. “That is until the day A scientist by the name of Ciel appeared. Following legends and myth she had eventually found the last great hope, which turned out to be me. I was awoken, without my memory, and once again thrust into battle.” He grins looking back at them. “you know those stories yes?”
“Rebirth Saga of the Green Swordsman.” Twilight lists out. “IT was labeled as darker than other stories… so I was lucky enough to be at one of the only libraries to carry a copy.” She grins. “Thought the Ponyville Library also has a copy.”
“I actually read that one with Rainbow when I found it.” Fluttershy says with a smile. “Some of it was really kinda scary…”
Rainbow nods. “yeah… I spent a lot of time worrying about uhm… the scientist.”
“You got worried from a story Rainbow?” Applejack teased.
“Well… I always got into the whole action of the story… and before you ask It was one of the last gifts from my parents.” Rainbow says defensivly.
“If you would like, I can compare and contrast the story to my memory. Give more details, that is, after we see X. Knowing him… he is down here. Same place he gave me the saber.” Zero says. “Ok lets get down there.”

“Uhmm how far down is it?” Twilight asks as Zero shrugs.
“Im not sure, I never measured it, but I don’t think it’s that far. I think Rainbow and I can carry everyone down.” Zero says with a soft smile.
[5 trips later 1 of which was Twilight attempting to measure stuff…]
“There we go… now we find out exactly what’s going on here.” The hunter says as he turns to Rainbow. “Do you want to rest for a few moments Dash?”
“Nah... I’m fine, you did most of the heavy work anyway.” Rainbow says as AJ glares over.
“Are you calling us fat?” The earth pony asks walking over, tail swishing as she glares.
“Relax Aj, I meant Zero took 4 trips, carrying you, Fluttershy and Twilight down twice. I only had to worry about Rarity and Pinkie Pie.” Rainbow replies, not really in the mood to fight the pony at the moment. “Id rather we just went and got this all done.”

Zero nods as he turns, and led the ponies down the hall. Stopping in that room, As flash back struck him... to the first mechanaloid, ciel, and his old saber’s return to him.
“So you finally came... Zero... I have been waiting for this time to come.”
AS the ponies look confused, Zero drew out his saber and glared. “YOU! Where is X?”

“X.. is a bit… occupied.” The shadow says as Zero growls loudly

"SIGMA!!!"

The pure fury in Zero's voice made the ponies actually jump in fear as the Raged filled Hero rushed past them leaping up with his blade to swing it down, until it met another blade..
"You seem different this time from when we last met Zero." Sigma replies as he swung his blade, launching the much lighter Zero away. Only this time Zero was not covered in heavy armor, and he had grown used to be thrown around, as he flips in mid air, landing in a crouch as partially charged shots flew out of his Buster gun. Caught by surprise at the swift change in tactics, Sigma took a step back as the weak buster shots struck him in the chest and leg.

"Even without my old body, I will still defeat you." Zero growls out angrilly as he stood up. "I will kill you, again, and again, and again, until you finally stay dead!"

"We both know that's never gonna happen." Sigma replies with a sneer. "Your forehead is a Z again, I know you remember who you are. OR do you want me to explain what you already know anyway?" Zero growls as Sigma laughs. "Fine.. I shall explain, simply put, we both exist and will always exist. No matter how damaged we may be, the Virus in your body Zero, shall always bring us back. Even now, you know your new, Fake body has been integrated into the system. Combined with the TRUE energy you got killing your old body, your new form is just as, immortal, as your old one."

"Stop babbling about that.. and tell me how much was your fault. I knew, something was suspicious about Dr. Wiel.. now tell me.. how much of that was him, and how much was you." Zero asks spreading his legs in a stance.

"I admit, very little was of my influence. My meddling occurred mostly before the Doctor was cast out. your old body and blue prints to your old data and new body where all I gave him. Dark elf, he had figured out himself. As for my other actions.. well I was an anchor for his vessel. I pulled him back, and heh delivered the remains of the Copy of X." Zero let out a slight growl again as Sigma laughed. "Though, I had hoped he would take a different course of action than he had. I wanted him to combine Zero and X into a new warrior, but instead he opted to rebuild and control Copy X instead. His hunger for power and control, made it easy for the Guardians to see through him. Even one as foolish and blind as Fefnir would know something was wrong, when the OMEGA missile was launched at a populated zone." The ex hunter spreads his arms. "But that's humans for you, blinded by emotion and greed, quick to panic. Even stealing the use of MY Ragnarock station in his obsession with killing you."

Zero closed his eyes in thought. "That does seem to fit.. and make more sense.. I wondered why Ragnarock never set off any alarms... you where always good at hacking weren't you?"

Sigma chuckled. "The funny part, is that Ragnarock was built as a weather watcher satellite. With the ability to affect some minor weather changes. Such as causing rain for a burning town, fixing a possible flood, and keeping watch over Climate crisis. "

Zero blinks "Wait.. the Weather Changer I used.. was..."
"Yes.. on Ragnarock. By then I had gotten angry at the stupid human, and.. slipped.. access to the machine to the resistance, in a way that made it look like a soldier had gotten luck and stolen data...." Sigma chuckled more.

"Tell me then.. if you always where around, why did you not rise to stop me from halting Neo Arcadia?" Zero asks in a low tone.

"At first, it was uncertainty of your real identity. Before you rose up, other fake Zeros had tried to rise up. It had become a hobby of mine.. to try and Guess where each 'zero' would fail or die. Afterwords well.. I meddled in some small matters... I loved the idea of the 'great hunter of justice' leading a rebellion of declared 'mavericks' against the government and law, when that same Hunter cut down his own friends, because that very law told him to."

"GHHH! Repliforce.." Zero cringes as flash backs of that time struck him.
"Exactly... dd you learn a lesson or two? While stranded on the opposite end of the tracks?"

"HEY! Stop hurting him with his past!"
The ponies blink as the look over at the LAST one they expected ot stand up to SIGMA himself. As Fluttershy glared at the evil being.
"Hurting him? Id think you ponies of all people understood,, learning from your mistakes.. looking at your past and learning from them.. isn't that right Miss Sparkle?"
The ponies gasp collectively as Sigma changed his form into that of a pony...
"Hey, its that pegasus that looked like Hooves!" Rainbow exclaims in surprise.. "you.. where Sigma all along?"
"I.. sold.. apples... to.. you.." Applejack says in shock.. "I sold apples.. to Sigma..."

"haha surprised? Actually, I change my shape a lot.. to different ponies.. you.. heroes.. always amuse me." Sigma flaps his wings and chuckles. "Well.. I must be off for now... and to put your mind at ease Zero... if your as bright as I think, you probably suspect a few things that I'm going to put to rest. No, I am not the cause of the Nightmare that resides in these woods and on the moon, while it was originally started as our, virus, it adapted and grew into something far.. different. As you know, our link only affects machines, not living beings. Yes, this world is indeed linked to our own, as to how im not sure, but some places like the laboratory here are scattered about underground. Nor do I have any, desire to rule any part of this land." Sigma smiles. "Ponies are a great deal more interesting that humans are... While humans shunned each other for differences such as skin or gender. The equestrians seem to thrive off of those very differences. The only high race is that of the ruler alicorns, but even many of them interact commonly with other ponies." Sigma stretched out his hoof as he gestured around. "Besides, as a reploid, the only real competition id have is you Zero, and that is a fight that shall never end."

Zero stands up slowly as he and the ponies watch as an aura surrounds Sigma as he vanishes laughing.
"Why... did he want me to know he was here? I never understood that man.." Zero frowns. "I think that X from before, was Sigma... but what does he want from me?"

"That.... was the Real Sigma? I mean THAT was him?" Twilight asks as she manages to relearn how to speak. "I have never met anyone so... dark. I mean hes not OVer whelming like Nightmare Moon, Discord, or even Queen Chrysalis... but there was this.. feeling."

"The Feeling that despite every other foe you have fought, that he has the power to kill you." Zero replies as he frowns. "He was the best of the best after all, X and My teacher."

"Wait hold up, the main villian of Most of the story.. was your own teacher?" Rainbow asks looking over in genuine surprise.

"Whoa.. that was never in any books.." Twilight asks, suddenly revived as Zero walks over to them and sits down.

"Hmm.. I suppose yoru story started after Sigma began his attacks then.. Right?" Zero comments as he looks over. "No, Sigma was not always an evil man. He was the leader of the MAverick hunters. Well, one of them, but he was seen as the BEST of the best. I mean think about it, what other person would be strong enough to teach not only the one who beat him in mad combat, but also the reploid of limitless potential." Zero looks up at the ceiling as flashback struck yet again. "Despite what many seem to think, the corruption only started in Sigma after he began doubting his talent and as he spoke more to Dr Cain about X. It was those thoughts that triggered the Virus and grew into his feeling of loosing his place of power. A new hunger for power filled him, and the energy granted it to him. But that wasn't all, no.. his life as our teacher, made him want to test himself. Idf you pay attention to the stories, not only would you see us grow stronger, but Sigma as well. Every battle we won not only made us grow, but made him grow as well. Though there was a brief point where the Growth desire over road more of his programming. making him Zombie like and damaging his vocal circuits." [Authors note: see Megaman X6]

"Do you.. think he was telling the truth?" Fluttershy asks softly. "I mean, he may be evil and all, but I dont remember him ever being much of a lier...not to you atleast Zero."

"I dont know... but I don't know a lot of things... your right, he never went out of his way to lie to me. In some strange way he still acts as a teacher for me. In some twisted sense I think even his using Repliforce was trying to teach me a lesson." the hunter sighs. "A lesson I only recently learned with the resistance."

"Hey... are you gonna be alright?"

Zero blinks as he looks up. "X! There you are.."
"YEah sorry im late, and.. Sigma.. had no idea he was.. alive." X grumbles frustrated. "But its possible that it is your virus powering him up...." X folds his arms. "But yeah, this was what I wanted to show you.." X says looking around. "Sigma told you about how some of your home places are here? Well I may have found part of a map of the area here."

"hmm? that's interesting."

"Well.. the magic of the world is turning on those sections of the area. I think ll be able to get the Trans server back online later on." X replies. "But for now.. Im a bit limited. All I can do is give you this 'portable trans device.' for use in town. to help them blend in I made the-"

"AHAHOMIGOSHITSALITTLEZEROTOY!CANIHAVEONE?PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE!" Pinkie asks hyper activly snatching one from X before he can object. "YAYNOWZEROCANCOMETOALLOFMYPARTESWITHALLOFMYFRIENDS!"

"Yes. you.. can.. wait... ah.. hold.. I... Zero.. Don't ponies need air?" X asks as pinkie began to ramble about turnips and bags of flower.
"I think her hair is an air storage device... Or she is related to that pink thing on planet pop star." Zero replies with a shrug.

"Oh the Kirby? That would make sense.." X admits as Twilight tilts her head.
"Whats a Kirby?" She asks curiously. "It sounds like some sort of cake Pinkie would make, or some kind of drink Berry would try."

"There she goes again, breaking that fourth wall thing she babbles about.. So what where you saying uh.. X.. may we call you X?" Twilight asks politely.
"Yes, you may miss Sparkle. But yes.. I made them into little.. toys. To make them portable, and easy to hide or hold. I made alot of different ones, but something tells me Pinkie might try to collect them all... So until I can make some Dummy toys for Pinkie, the best we can use are the 3 Zero toys." X says handing the last two to Zero.
"Ok, one obviously will be used at Twilights place as that's, kinda the base at the moment. One is with Pinkie now, So mental mapping..We have only two sides left to cover. Sweet apple Acres, and Fluttershy's cottage." Zero says in thought.
"Uhm.. yes id like the last one.. if that's ok.. is it ok with you Applejack?"
"Course it is sweety, besides you live right by the Everfree, and that's a lot more dangerous than anything i happen to be by. To be honest I was gonna suggest you take it anyway 'shy. Seeing as your and Zero are good friends and all."

"Good then that's settled. Oh Right, Zero, you should try to jump on clouds." X says out of the blue.
"Wont I fall through? That.. sounds a bit crazy X ol pal.." The hunter remarks with a raised eyebrow.
"Perhaps, but the atmosphere in this land is a bit thicker than our own. Once its active, some of your Chips can lower your weight and might keep you up right." X says gently as Aj smirks.
"Sides, if big ol Rainbow can live in a cloud, i'm sure you wont have any trouble."

"Big ol? And whats that supposed to mean?" The Cyan pegasus, not missing a beat as she takes the challenge...
"It means your getting Fa-"
"Girls please, can we not fight here? I think we should get back home. I gotta update the news for the princess. Tell her Sigma is about.. and.."
"Actually Twilight.. for now lets keep Sigma's info on a back burner. HE is dangerous, but no ponies are in danger, just me." Zero calls in thought.

[something that came to mind while I was at work, listening to my mp3 player, the soundtrack of the movie Toys came up First part is set to LEt joy and innocence prevail]

"Doctor Light Doctor Light!" Roll Light ran as fast as she could as she waved frantically. "They did it! Everyone they did it!"

Dr light blinks as he stands up, only to get shoved to the side as Princess Celestia flew past him at a speed that would make Rainbow blnk in awe. "Ah! the portal is back!"

At her conformation the rest of those left behind slowly made their way out.
"Zero... please be safe.." Ciel says softly as a pair of hands lay on her shoulders.
"Don't worry.." Iris says softly.
"Zero is too stubbern to die. Kinda like us." Colonel says with a smirk.
Ciel blinks and smiles as she blinks away teh tears that had started to form.. "yeah.. your right.."

"Any Sign of Twilght and my ponies?" Celestia asks, blinking as Iris shakes her head.
"the portal has only just.. -huff- opened your majesty.." Dr Light gasps as he moves to the princesses side. "IT will be some time before anyone appears."

" just hope my Navi is ok." Lan murmers to himself as fluttershy gasps loudly.
"Look! Someone is coming!"

One by one, the triumphant yet exhausted heroes appeared,
Rock was first, supported by Blues and Rush as he wobbled out followed by Bass. NExt came Net navi Megaman, followed by the Megaman Vent, Aile, Grey, and Ashe. Models X, Z, and A all following behind as their partners where too tired to keep megamerged. Navi Bass and Sigma came next as X, reduced to his Cyberelf form followed behind. Rainbow dash slowly trotted out, trying to look brave and strong for her friends, despite her obviouse leaning on Apple jack as Twilight followed, HEr horn lowing a soft purple as she gently supported her friends. Rarity and Pinkie where the last of the group to walk out as the ponies where scooped into a magical hug by the worried princess.
"OH I WAS SO WORRIED! Im so glad your all back safe and sound.." Celestia says as Twilight frowns..
"Not all of us... are back yet." she says softly as iris and Ciel walked over.
"Hey.. where is Zero?"

"Hes.. not back yet.." Twilight replies sadly as she looked at the portal... Some faces in dim shock as the portal closed...

Zero was the last of the ones standing, as he looked aorund the empty wasteland around him. The Nightmare was vanquished, Lost warrors had been returned... he felt like he had finally repented for his damage to the world.
So why was he the one left behind?

"We forgive you Zero, now you must forgive yourself."

Iris's words echoed in his mind as he blinked in thought. "Is that it? Even after all of this.. some part of me.. wants to be punished still?"

"No... your just last in line.. Zero.."
Zero blinks as he looks over as the Green Swordsman slowly padded to him. "its you.. again... I kept your sword safe.. like you asked."

"I know.. Fluttershy has it. Good choice... leaving her the sword, and behind. " the hero says nodding as he flexes his wings. "You have done well Zero. You have explore the land, cleared it of an ancient curse.. restored the balance between Nature, harmony, and chaos. Freed not only the mind of the greatest rulers of this land, but also saved races from extinction. Not only have you save countless lives today, but you saved the heroes once thought lost, and returned them to ther loved ones."

"You know, I feel alot better.. maybe.."

"Maybe Iris was right then? You needed to forgive yourself.. and in a way, you have. we are the same man, born to different lands, and I have forgiven you for your acts of darkness in the past."

"So... what are you going to do now? Are you going to stay 'dead' for good? or will you come back with me?" Zero asks as he sat next to the pegasus.

"I plan to return soon, just want to make sure the Nightmare is gone for good..." the pony says nodding.
"You better not be lying to yourself again." Zero replies and laughs softly. "Once I have the energy, Ill get out of your mane then." Zero says laying back.

"Hehe.. who says I want you to leave me alone? We still have to settle an old score.."
Zero smirks as the two continue on the portal opening slowly again before them..

Twilight blinks as she notices the portal open and close, as she climbs up to look, Iris and some others noticing her motions as they follow the unicorn. She gasps as she reaches the top of the hill.. there at the top where the two swordsman.

Zero stood across, his armor patterned blue in his harmonious form. To their surprise, The pegasus across omega, had similar pattern as well as the two faced each other. The Green swordsman of Legend crouched low to the floor, blade in jaws as Zero held his twin blades Omega and Sigma. To the north Twilight saw Celestia and Luna watching with X and the newer heroes, the chosens of models ZX and A. Fluttershy, who had at once feared the very idea of this battle, sat with a look of concentration on her face as she watched the heroes.

"One point. Full power, you ready?" Zero asks softly.
"Lets settle this for good.. " The pegasus agrees.

Zero gazes over in thought before sharp pain struck his mind.. knees buckle as images are forced into his mind.

Zero found himself, holding two sabers as he walks up the steps leading to a large ivory tower. A strange, light energy was felt within his body as pure willpower struck the doors before him, pushing them open as he strides within. Looking up as sun light shines down from above, the door behind vanishing as Stain glass paintings appear within the lit darkness. Each depicting one of the Elements of harmony... and images of some of their greatest moments in battle and out of it. He walks in genuine awe of the images, untill he stood before murals of grand battles. Night mare moon, Discord, the changling horde, and a final one that seemed uncomplete, showing the bearers stand below the moon and sun. IT took Zero a moment to realise the image was moving, as he watches the sun and moon eclipse each other.. watching as the form that would be the moon.. formed a halo and broken wings. A single Large eye appearing in the center as the bearers fell to the side. A cracking of glass is heard as he turns, and watches as the stain glass image crack, as a pony falls, their image is broken, and they fade from the final mural.

"You don't Belong here." A voice much like his own came from a hooded figure as he glances over. "You must die here." The formless Equine shadow calls as a blade vanishes from Zero's grasp, and appears in the mouth of the Winged shadow. "I shall not allow the miracle matter to rise again. Nightmare must remain gone."

Zero jumps to the side as the shadow assaults him, cringing as the shadows blade slashes the hunter's arm. Warm red blood flows down from the wound as the shadow flew into the air and bore down on Zero. Caught off guard by the Rainbow dash like speed of the attacker, Zero could only evade as the shadow struck over and over, nearly every strike cuttng into the hunter, as new sensations hit his systems. "what... is..?"

"You feel that? Its called mortality. Your changing, as you stay here, becoming vulnerable.. and one day, your maker is going to come, and kill every one." The shadow states simply. "No not that pathetic doctor.. the maker of your material. The Miracle MAtter. Zero 2. "

"Who?"

"That is not important... you have two choices. The best is to leave, and hope to draw Zero 2 away. The worse is that you stay here and work to gain the 'powers of harmony'. Of course there is the third choice of staying and doing nothing.. but we would never do that one. IF your anything like me, as those.. children, seem to think, then your going to do this the hard way. FAmilierise yourself with this Tower. Tower Zero. It lies in the land now called Canterlot, and is hidden within the 'Hall of Harmony.' "

"Who are you...why are you telling me all of this?" Zero demands only to be met with laughter.

"Someone, close to you in a way, One who does not want these pictures to fade out.. We shall meet again, once I wake up. Go to Canterlot and face the first of the tests of Harmonious potential."

"Zero?" the hunter blinks hearing the name be called out.
"You are called hunter.. Go to them now.. Tell them of this if you wish.. it will change nothing."
"Zero? Come on wake up!" it was more clear now.. Twilight's voice..
"Why do you hesitate Zero?" Zero frowns as he feels the world around him start to fade..as the shadow vanishes before him "Good luck. Keep that world safe."

Zero nods and smirks. "I will.."

"WillwhatZero?" Pinkie repeats watching him as Zero smirks.
"I will keep the world safe. I had a strange dream.. I will tell everyone about it when I can." Zero takes out hs saber hilt and gazes at it. "Mission... Start."

Sigma, Shadow being, X, and who ever else may be watching in the shadows.. I shall not let this world, or these ponies down.
"Iris.. Ciel... Twilight... Guide me."

"Oh come on, thats the 5th bottle already!"

Zero looks over as the genuinely exhausted dragon came down the steps yet again. "Is she STILL writting that
'letter'?" The hunter asks unable to help being slightly amused.
"Yeah every time she is almost done.. she thinks of something she forgot.." Spike grumbles as Zero hands him a bag. "Oh.. thanks dude.."
Zero nods as Spike walks back upstairs with the bag of Ink bottles and Gems.
"SPIKE! WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?"

Zero rolls his eyes feeling pitty for the dragon as he turns back to the other element holders. "Am I the only one who sees the massive report as something silly? I mean.. shes about to SEE the princess.. why not report in then?"

"I used too darling." Rarity replies looking over. "But I believe her writting things down also helps her cope with new events, as well as help her remember later. Our dear librarian has a better memory of Written word than spoken word." She nods and glances over. "What I find impressive is how you nailed all of the details on those window paintings of us. The hall of Harmony is a special place that leads to the Elements themselves. I myself have only been maybe three times."

"Do ya really think that whole dream was fact Rarity? I mean pictures don't move." Appleack comments.
"Discord did though.. he even did a dance on Twilight's head rememeber?" Rainbow says doing a replica in mid air. "Could be a similar talant ya know."

"YEah dash, but applying discord to natural law and reality is like Saying Pinkie Pie is completely sane." Aj retorts as Pinkie blinks.
"ITsnotmyfaultyouguysdontlistentothevoices." she says finally.

"uhm.. honestly im more worried about that Sh-Shadow pony.." Fluttershy squeaks as Rainbow gets a smirk on her face.
"Oh.. afraid its gonna.. GET YA?" Rainbow pokes Fluttershy's side and shouts the last words, making the panicked pegasus scream and hide behind Zero.

"SPIKE! IM OUT OF PAPER!"

"I gotta say i'm with Fluttershy here.. " Rarity says as Zero nods.
"I have never felt so weak before.." Zero admits as he idly strokes Fluttershy's side. "You ok shy?"
"Uhm.. yes.. thank you.." the shaking mare says softly. "Still the very idea, that a dream could perdict the future, it scares me."

"Well since shes gonna be a while, how about you gals get back home.. im sure you probably have work you need to get done." Zero says with a nod. "Will any of ya need help?"

Aj and Rarity both nod as Spike appears again.
"Uh any chance you could get a Really big thing of paper Zero?" the dragon asks as the hunter chuckles a bit.
"No problem spike."

HE stood alone on the hilltop gazing into the sky. Helmet off as his long blond hair flows in the wind. He couldn't remember the last time he had simply stood and gazed at the sky. Watching as the clouds flowed about, drawn by the wind and other magical forces. A small Cyan speck with a rainbow trail was seen above as it smashed a larger cloud into many smaller ones. A soft smirk touches his face as he leans back further. The strong bark of a tree holding his weight, natural bark. The scent of natural land and forest truly touched him as he slides his gaze down to the Everfree Forest. A forest free of most mechanics, and as natural and wild as it should be. Zero crouches as he picks up his helmet from the floor, slipping it over his head. Part of his vision now taken up by his HUD [Heads up display] as he scans the area about.

Turning he gazed out at the Town he had taken residence in recently. Pony Ville. Land populated by a majority of Earth pony folk, but many Pegasi and Unicorn had also taken residence. According to records, there was a rise in population for pegasi and Unicorn lately. My guess was due to the Equality of the elements of Harmony, made up of two of each race. While not many notice it, there is a bit of distance between the three pony races, as usual in such populations. PonyVille actually seemed to be past all of that at the moment. Each group was equal here, and all worked hard to make sure things ran smoothly. The creatures here had succeeded where even people of his time had failed.

"Zero? Are you ready to go?"

Zero nods as he turns to look at the lavender unicorn. "Are the others ready?"
Twilight nods and smiles softly. "Yeah, they are already at the library. Except us and Fluttershy, she’s making sure her animals are ok."
"He he... she takes her duty seriously, but then again we all do, besides Dashy anyway." the hunter had a teasing tone to his voice as the unicorn chuckles.
"She does love her fun... so, why are you here anyway?" The unicorn asks curiously as Zero turns back to the forest.
"Just enjoying the scenery. I told you a bit about my home before, so the sheer life in a place like this, where at my home... it is all metal and man slash reploid made. The one part of nature we did have was partially destroyed by the mad doctor."

"I can’t imagine how different that makes everything. I suppose we all take stuff for granted don't we?"
Zero blinks and nods as he turns back to her. "Alright, let’s get back to the library. We have a long, possibly dangerous mission ahead of us."
"Right."
"Zero? Can you come with me for a moment?"
Zero blinks and turns seeing X to the side.
"Alright... go ahead Twi. Ill meet you there soon."
The unicorn hesitates then nods as she heads off, X watches until the unicorn was out of reploid ear shot. "Before you head off, it occurred to me that pony modes of transportation may not be good for your use." X smirks as he steps to the side, letting an illusion fade, chuckling as Zero's eyes widen, and a smile crosses his lips.
"Oh... yeah! You are awesome man!"

"Oh I’m so sorry I’m late everyone... "Fluttershy squeaks as she hurries inside.
"So what gives Twilight? Where's Zero?" Rainbow asks... as a Speeding red blur shot past the house.

The ponies all turn to look at Pinkie who shrugs.
"Wasn'tme. IdontmakeRedblurs. Imakepinkblurrs."
They all turn to Dash.
"Hey ‘I’m fast but not faster than sight. I have been here the whole time. Besides... Rainbows... not just red."

"Oh hell yeah!"
The group walks out of the tree library and smirk as they saw Zero grinning like Pinkie at a party.
As Zero sat there on his favorite old Cycle, long hair still whipping about as he smiles more.
"Sorry I’m late ladies... X was hiding this old baby from me." Zero says patting the bike gently. “My Z cycle."
"Wait... so that was YOUR blur?" Rainbow asks looking over.
"What? Want to race?" Zero smiles teasingly.
"Oh hell YE-"
"No not now you two... We have... Work to do." Twilight says raining on their parade.
"Aw...." The two pout and chuckle.
"Anyway, X pointed out that it might be smarter to use my own transport, instead of relying on thin that might not work on me. Short of Rainbow possibly, I can follow you guys anywhere on this thing." Zero says proudly.

"oreally?whatifweneedtogooffland?" Pinkie asks as Zero smirks.
"Land, Water, and even Air travel is possible on this thing now. X added a Jet booster upgrade to let my fly if I need to." Zero says proudly.

“Good then your all ready to go then... and please sir... stay in the air with us.” Zero turns as a carriage pulled by the two different guards stationed to the Elements of harmony. The solar guard nods. “Only for haste, and to keep better watch.”

“Understood sir, I can always drive around later on. Besides, X wanted me to test the Jet booster anyway.” Zero admits with a soft smile.

As they flew over head, Zero was able to better examine the land below, watching the many creatures he had sworn to protect. Still, he could see clouds mentally, hanging low above the mountain castle town of Canterlot. Still, there was no denying that it was a truly fascinating place. ‘Perhaps some time ill be able to explore’ he thought to himself. ‘Perhaps, but for now I need to focus. Focus on the meeting, the others, and whatever shadowy forces had invaded our lives. I only hope it’s not my fault.’

“I wonder what he’s thinking about.” The unicorn turns to her normally quiet and shy companion. “You see it too right? How he’s all hunched up, and glaring at everything. I can’t help but wonder if he is riding to battle, or running away from Sigma.”
Twilight shakes her head, having no real clue herself. Since Sigma had revealed himself, Zero had started to grow dark, and more reserved than before, maybe even, distant.
“Wish I knew Shy, wish I knew.” Fluttershy nods as they both watch the castle draw closer. For once Twilight had a strange feeling of fear as she looked at the towering place that had been her home for years. AS if sensing their thoughts Zero glances up at the two just as they glanced down at him again. Meeting their gazes, before they blush and quickly looked away.
“You two are certainly fascinated with our new friend, and not just because he’s strange.” Rarity teases as Fluttershy grows beat red.
“AH! NO! Well, ok... maybe. A little… –squeak-“Fluttershy admits as Rarity chuckles softly.
“Well don’t worry, he seems to have affected all of us to some extent. Though not as much as you and Twilight. Though you two are also the ones he seems to worry about most.” Rarity says in thought.
“W-We are?” The Pegasus murmurs as Twilight blinks in thought.
“Hate to interrupt girls, but we are arriving. So hold on.” The Lunar knight says as she smiles softly at the young mares.

"Seriously? I mean id like to see a NON smoking castle for once." Zero says with a sigh as he looks about.
"Calm down, there are not panicked ponies or running guards, so its probably another Kitchen accident." Twilight says chuckling slightly.
"So if I remember right, you know this place pretty well don't you?" Zero asks as he turns to Twilight, as the guards help the other ponies out of their Carriage. "You used to live in the castle right?"

"Yes, I lived in the castle while I was studying directly under Princess Celestia." Twilight confirms as Zero nods.
"Wow that must have been really difficult."
"Difficult? tats not what many say when it comes to studying under the princess." The unicorn admits in thought. "They usually think its an amazing thing, living in the castle."
"I chose to look at the fact that you where being taught and given tests by a being who is pretty much all powerful and mighty in the world. Training by the best is always the hardest, but most rewarding should you have focus and talent." Zero says nodding.
"Like when you where taught by Sigma?" Rainbow asks wandering over.
"Yes, he trained two of us almost exclusively. X, the reploid of unlimited potential, and Me, the one who almost killed him without training." Zero says in thought. "Part of me wonders if he had planned to be surpassed in the end anyway."
"Hmm... 'm not sure.." Twilight murmurs in contemplation.

"That or to prepare them for the future to come. I exist here, but other lands need help as well."
The group blinks as all but Zero and Twilight bow down, as the Solar Sister descends down before them.
"Princess Celestia! It's wonderful to see you again!" Twilight says happily as her friends stand back up.
"I do hate to sound rude Princess, but did you learn anything from the reports?" Zero asks as Celestia turns to him.
"Some but not much I am afraid, tell me my ponies, can you see anything different about town?" Celestia asks as they all look about.
"Why, the normally busy square, is down right barren!" Rarity exclaims in surprise.
"Is it just me or is it toasty in here?" Pinkie asks at a far slower tone than normal.
"Correct... Something has caused the temperatures to rise up at extreme levels." Celestia says as Zero blinks.
"Could it be related to that smoke behind you castle?" Zero asks as The princess blinks and turns.
"Oh.. my I hadn't noticed that before.. That seems to be coming from the Magmus Volcano."
Twilight gasps as Zero face palmed.
"Seriously? a Volcano.. named.. Magmus? Really?" He asks as Celestia chuckles.
"I didn't do it, my father had a sense of humor back then." Celestia replies laughing. "He wanted us to have a source of eternal Fire to aid in my raising of the sun when I am weak. I draw upon the power of Magmus when I am ill."
"Ill? but I thought Alicorns where immune to diseases.." Fluttershy states softly walking over.
"Most illness yes, but we can still exhaust and catch bugs and flu. We just use magic to heal faster or Fake it like we are taught." Celestia admits. "We are strong, but we do eventually tire."

"Well I guess our next course of action is to check out the Volcano right? IT sounds magically made, so we should be safe. Twilight and Rainbow dash can probably fix whatever damage is done." Zero says thinking. "Thought you shoudl probably come and over see things princess. You know the land best."
"Well thought out.." Celestia admits.

Zero smiles but blinks as a hoof pokes his side.
"Umm as scary as a V-Volc-cano sounds, I sill would like to see it, if that's ok with you I mean.." Fluttershy says softly.
Zero sighs mentally as the logical response pops to mind but instead. "Alright, just stay safe. Leave us the hard work."
"Oh ok Thank you... Zero." Fluttershy says smiling.
"Uhm Princess? what sort of Magical Defenses will the carriage hold?" Zero asks in thought.
"There are only two really, and they are on all Carriages." Celestia replies. "one seals the magical powers of ponies and the second is a barrier that keeps us all inside." Celestia looks down softly. "Unfortunately, the defenses don't protect you or Spike, and I am as affected as the others."
"Ok so that means I can fight if we get attacked then." Zero says in thought. "Sorry for such an.. unusual question, recent events have me a bit.. paranoid to be honest." Zero nods. "I also wanted to make sure Twi and Shy are safe. Not to make fun or anything, but they are the least survivalist of all of us. Of the group I think they lack the most Field survival skills."
"Something tells me there is more to it than Lack of Field training.." Celestia teases.
"Yes, it is no secret that they are important to me. That and I seem to be unable to tell them no.. even if it means they are in danger." Zero replies, thinking of the others who had similar affects, and the Fates that had met many of them.
"Zero... Just do your best, that is all any of us can or would ask for."
Zero nods, a slightly haunted expression on his face. "I just hope no one gets hurt . I am' done with Nightmares..."
Celestia nods knowingly. "As are we all Zero..."
Zero turns to reply out of curiosity, when a sudden gush of wind and Gasping ponies catch his attention. Turning he is met with what was the Largest Air vessel he had seen so far. "whoa..."
"OMIGOSHYOUCANFITALMOSTHALFOFPONYVILLEINTHATTHING!" Pinkie yells excitedly.
"Now that would be a party.." Rainbow comments chuckling as Zero examines the vessel.
"That is large..to say the least.. What was this from? war fleet?" He asks turning as Celestia nods.
"Troop transportation from Wars held long ago." She admits. "Anyway, everyone on board, ts gonna take a few hours to get started so feel free to rest up while we head out."

----on board Air Craft Seabandits: Zero's Quarters-

"Ah.. finally a chance to rest, relax, and reload." Zero says with a yawn, having not understood how tired he was until he lay on his bed.
-kaboom-
"Gah.. Damn you Murphy and your laws!" Zero yells sitting up irritably and hopping off his bed, just as Fluttershy runs in.
"Zero Zero! Something is happening!"she says sounding panicked.
"No.. Really? Cause I always thought random explosions where a completely normal part of Air Travel." the hunter says sarcastically.

"Well actually The Explosion was Pinkie pie, It's the other thing I'm worried about!" Fluttershy as Zero shrugs.
Of course it was pink- wait a sec." Zero blinks. "Yeah.. that's right, Pinkie stayed behind in Canterlot with Rarity."
Fluttershy pauses and sat down in thought. "But I just saw her outside... how did she get here?"
Zero sighs as possibilities list in his mind. "Only way to find out is to find her." Zero says nodding as he leads th way and follows Fluttershy about.
"AH There she is! Pinkie!"
Zero blinks as he regard the being in front of him. "how to put this ... kindly.. um.. Shy? That's not Pinkie. There is no way that's Pinkie. I mean for starters Pinkie s well.. A PINK earth pony. Not a black pony with messed up wings and a wicked bent horn." Zero blinks. "Sounds like one of those.. Change things Twilight mentioned before."
"Wh-what? A changling?" Fluttershy asks as Faker pie rushed to attack, only to be cut n half. "OMIGOSH it WAS a changling!"
"Well duh.. Pinkie is with Rarity helping Luna out as they study my Nightmare.* (*see chapters before) So just to ask.. that.. thing.. Really looked like Pinkie?"
"Yes.. it had her poofy hair, and her bouncing and even her voice... but...I guess they don't.. affect you?"
Zero nods in thought. "Well if there is one there are probably more,, lets go find the others and make sure the princess is ok. Still.. I thought they whee all cast out by the.. 'Lovey-dovey-wave' As Rainbow put it."
Fluttershy nods. "I thought so too.. we all did.."
"Well.. lets go find the rest of our Nasty surprises shall we?"

Changlings on a Pla- I mean Boat!

The Entire ship seemed over run to Zero as he ran about trying to gather about his friends and the boat crew. Running down halls as he Cut down stunned changlings one after the other, taking advantage of the LACK of communication to do as much damage as possible. Though, as for poof fluttershy, who was not as immune to the illusions, she got to see Every pony they met get cut in half. Except for the Rare occasion of them finding an Actual pony. But as her fear subsided to her calm faith in the hunter, she saw within his gaze, pain and rage. fury burning specially when a Fake element was about. Hearing their screams of pain and panic as he attacked,, their voices slowly melting into that horrid Bug sound.

"Zero?" Fluttershy calls as the hunter rests for a moment. "Are you... alright?"
"No Fluttershy. Even when they all look like demons, and I know they are demons, just the sound of my friends in pain.. because of my actions. The sounds hurt far more than I wish to admit."

Fluttershy nods. "I understand.. these fakes." The pegasus shook as her own rage took a hold, as the hunter watches the shaking pony. "Taking the forms of my friends, making me see you cut down my loved ones again and again. Our friends, with no mercy... I want them all to pay.. for this." Tears appear in her eyes as Zero's gaze lowers. The hunter had not really thought about what Fluttershy might have seen. Her faith in him was touching to be sure.

"Shy.. lets go. We gotta keep moving,"

"ZERO! Finally I found you!" Zero groans and then blinks.
"Ah.. Twilight! Girls!." Zero says happily as fluttershy runs over, and pauses as they both spot Pinkie and Rarity again.
"My goodness you two look down right dreadful!" FAkerity says with a gasp, Right before Zero shot her in the face.
"Not as ad as you monsters." Zero says as Twilight jumps, giving Zero perfect angle at Faker pie.
"Z! ZERO? What are you.. wait.." Twilight murmers seeing the Fakes dissolve. "Changlings?"
"Keep your guard up Twi, and remember that Those two are not with us. THEY are in Canterlot with Luna."

"I knew Something was weird about Pinkie.. but try to give warnin before you shoot one next time." Rainbow says recovering from the sight.
"Sorry Rd. I can't see the illusions. Just the monsters, but I hear the voices.." Zero admits as Aj watches the spots where the Changers had been.
"It's been just horrible! Changlings swarming all over the place, and Zero. Im so glad we found you..." Fluttershy gasps as the group collapses into a hug.
"Well now 'at were back Tah gether.. we should get back to looking for Princess Celestia and Spike." Aj says as Zero nods.
"I was about to say the same thing. Stay behind me, and don't freak out too much.. Remember.. I cannot see the Illusions." Zero reminds them as they progress on wards.

Zero kicks down a door and flips into the room, dual pistols in hand as he scans the hall way. "two paths.. damn... wait here girls.. and remember, shoot me when you see me." he says before proceeding down the west hallway... crouching down as he stuck to the shadows, wary of any form of attack. The corridor turned, as he slowly inches his way around the area, turning as he catches changlings by surprise. Trained hunter reflexes shooting down 3 before the others could even react. One panics, letting lose a badly aimed magical bolt which whizzes harmlessly over Zero's head. This time however zero decided to try something different. Taking down most of the shape shifters before grabbing the weakling and shoving it against the wall.
"You have two choices monster. The first, is that you tell me what I want to know, and teh second is a shoot you until you tell me what I want to know." The hunter warns darkly. "Where are the crew and princess?"

"Ghh... the crew... they are on deck above us.. I don't know where the Princess is. The damned sun goddess has eluaded us expertly."
Zero shove the male sounding monster harder. "Watch your tone. You expect me to believe that on a vessel of this size with an army of this size that you cant find a GIANT glowing white Alicorn?"
"Do not insult us demon. Our recourses are cut off. Our leader refuses to listen, and we also have YOU shooting us all and causing panic. Foolish how three beings can make a simple job into a catastrophic failure."
Zero blinks confused. "three?"
"You, the purple lizard, and that infernal sun goddess. Now kill me already, I cannot bare this shame of capture."
"Oh im sorry.. when dd I say you got to die?" Zero asks with a smirk. "No... now that the magical defense system has been, deactivated. I have a certain group I wish to lend you too."

Zero opens the door and grunts as a bolt of magic hits his chest. "Oww.. good aim.. look I bear gifts.."
"BIG MAC?"
Zero rolls his eyes. "Changling. Get as much info out of him as you can.. Im going to try and get to the ships Deck. the crew and perhaps the leader of these beings should be up there." The hunter says tossing it down. "Don't break him too fast ok girls?"
Zero turns away as the hoof marks grow louder behind him.
"Oh no.. those.. please.. don't leave me here.."
The hunter smiles as the door closes behind him.

Soon he was at that cross section again, holding out the pistol as he looks about. "Well id say its about time for.. Door number two."

"So.. what do we know about our target anyway?"
Zero Freezes as he hears Twilights voice, yet it sounded..Off? Zero peeks inside, and saw a group of Changlings all in a group, only unlike the majority, these ones had.. clothes?
"Nothin Good from what I have seen.. Dude he moves like a freaking BLUUR! " A changling with a sort of Dashy-esq tone to his voice says.. adjusting a small cap on his head. "that Sword a his was just Ripping through people like nothing!"

"If I may make a suggestion?" The third sounded like Rarity, but. had some sort of strange accent.
"Ofcourse.. " There.. that was the Twilight sounding one.. wearing a sort of... hat like the kind Apple jack kept around. "What have ya got for us Rarispy?"
"Ahem.." Rarispy seemed to take a moment to gather her thoughts. "To put it simply.. he is immune to our Magic. From what Rainbow Scout and I have found, the classical illusion used by our race do not have any affect on the being. Nor have any of our attacks seemed to have any form of affect." Rarispy sighs simply. "To be honest I do not even know if our own Talants will work on the creature. Nor do I wish to find out." She looks at the others around her. "The moment has passed, I suggest we get out while we can."
"Welcome to zhe We lose once again fest." This one sounded like.. was that a german accent? German Fluttershy.. That's an odd concept. "I must agree with Zhe Spy on Zhis one Zwilight. Zhis just sounds like a fools errand."
"Still.. just abandoning the mission? That would be, Treason.. against our Queen.. Should. no.. CAN we do that?" That must be the pinkie one in that odd mask.. Specially since she summoned Subtitles to go with those Mummbles.
"Pyro Pie.. I reckon we are dog gone about to find out. I dont think I can Build anything to take out that.. THING on my own.. not with my limited tools.." The applejack actually sounded, and acted right compared to the others.
"I do have a plan.. a spin on all of this that might aid us all.. " Rarispy says softly. "this will sound mad perhaps even blaspheme but ever since that.. 'wedding' day our queen has not acted.. how to say.. Sane. I suggest.. we get Spikdier, Heavy mac, and Zecemo and get out of here all together. Personally.. I want to get a much better look at these.. beings.. for myself."
"The Back stabber has a point.. I want to see just how Awesome I am supposed to pretend to be. I mean, IF im her then she BETTER be pretty damn awesome, or im gonna Bonk some people senseless."
"So.. were.. not gonna go attack the scary person kiling everyone? We get zo run away this zime?"
"Right Medic.. No more scary monster.. and no more dealing with that Jackass either.." Fake Twilight says with a smile. "So.. were all in agreement then? Lets make this official! All in agreement that we Get the hell out of here. Say Aye when I say your name. Rarispy? [aye] Fluttermedic? [uhm.. aye] Rainbow scout? [Aye, now lets go go go! Im running circles over here!] Pyro Pie? [Mmmph mmph!] Ill take that as a yes then... Engie jack? [Course, how about you Twilight Sniper?] Aye as well... Alright.. Lets move out!"

Zero watches as the group files down the path as he processes what he had just heard. "that. was unusual... but not a totally bad thing.. Still, I better warn the girls later.. First things first.. find Celestia and then a way off this bloody thing!" Zero heads to a second door, the one not used by the strange changlings, and pushes through...

You will notice a change in writing style, mostly because the VAST majority of this had been planned and written before The login program for the site had changed to need Cookies or something like that. While the Hapless group of changlings was always part of the plan, aside from making them a special group to study the Mane 6 I had no idea for personalities.

Lately I have been playing lots of Team fortress two, and looking at the MLP TF2 art.. the idea to make them work like that Fit perfectly in my mind. Making them unique and giving me the option of interaction between the Spy squad and the Mane cast later on. Anyway, problems with writing aside, its good to be back to this again! OH right, id actually gotten this done a day or so ago... I just forgot to submit it..

Sorry for any quality drop, but ill do my best to get back into the swing of things..

[sorry I have been working on the next part of the fic, but this keeps getting stuck so I'm gonna type it XD]

Twilight felt nervous for some reason as she follows the others as Zero lead the way down the path. Just moments ago, Zero had gotten a message from Sigma about a Maverick presence. Suspicious of the man, Zero wanted to leave the others behind. Until Twilight revealed she could Track his teleportation, and Dash said she would track his bike. So not wanting to worry about them, he decided for once to take the Elements along with him. He knew this path well, the Green Swordsman's blade hanging from his hip as memory struck him.

"Green swordsman.." he murmers to himself in thought. "This was the path to him. How.. or why is a maverick here?"

"Your asking us?" Rainbow comments before getting jabbed in the side by Applejack. "oww."

"AHH think that was ah.. what was it.. Rhetoricky question.. thingy. You know when you ask a question but don't want an answer."
"That's Rhetorical, and its when you ask a question that doesn't need one." Twilight replies not thinking to much about it. "So while we took the upper path, you took this.. longer underground one."

"YEah.. I'm just glad the traps stayed off this time." Zero admits. "The spike walls, pits, and flying axes would be hard for some of you to dodge."

"Pff like any old trap could hurt us." Rainbow says chuckling.
"you should be glad the Electric wall was off. Your fast on your wings, but your hoof work makes Fluttershy look like Apple Jack."

"Ouch..." Rainbow murmurs as Fluttershy giggles softly.
"And you saw how many times She slipped on the climb to the dragon." AJ reminds as Rainbow sinks lower and lower.
"27 times. But part of that was due to her nerves. So we cant really use it as an example." Twilight comments trying to make the rainbow pegasus feel better. "Still. I am glad we don't have to go past all that."

"Yeah. the acid pits really stung." Zero adds as he smiles at their shocked faces. "Im kidding.. I was resistant to its type."

"Oh jeez.. Zero.."

"Well I have had to deal with the traps my whole life girls. So its kinda normal to me. Though I'd been getting rusty I suppose. Neo arcadia was tough, but not as trap heavy as Sigma could get some times." Zero comments in thought. "Just as you girls went form normal ponies to heroes, I eventually just got used to the traps. Oh like this one. Step back." Zero waits as the girls step back before he touches a wall tile. A large boulder Falling from above, landing between the ponies and Zero. "See? no problem."

"N-No problem? Oh my word.."
"eeep... that almost.."
"OH THAT WAS AWESOME! I didn't even see that up there!"
Twilght nods as she listens. "Ancient traps, cloaked in magic.. that still work even all these years later.. How.. Fascinating." She hops on the rock. "See any more?"

Zero laughs seeing the unicorn's eyes light up as he shakes his head. "Nah not yet. OR not at all. There is the door."

"Whoacheckouttheredglow!THATSsopretty!" Pinkie yells watching the doors swirls.
"I wonder what sort of magic this is..." Rarity asks as she and Twilight examine the door. "Magic like this would make for some Great designs!"
"The prettier the door, the more deadly the enemy.. haven't seen a door like this since... Sigma once..." Zero comments ominously. He reaches for the wood and yet hesitates.. as a wave of energy slams him and his companions. The hunter flinches back startled by the surge of fear that struck his core.
"Zero? What was that?" Fluttershy asks softly as he touches the door.
"Lets find out.. shall we?" The others note the hesitation in the so thought 'fearless hero' as he pushes open the door. Visible wave of Black negative power rush out slamming the ponies.. forcing them all back as the struggle to gaze through the gate way.

"Sworn to eliminate... all mavericks. To cut down all forces of chaos and disharmony. Those all who threaten the peace."
Zero's eyes snap open as the cold voice rushes out to them.
"Maverick hunters, Elements of harmony. Special task forces employed by the highest reaches of government to cut down the darkness. The best and strongest of them all. Entrusted to push away our own emotions.. for the sake of duty."
".... X." Zero calls, recognizing the voice.
"Zero... are there any regrets? Any choices you would take back? Knowing as you know now.. would you have made the same choices?"
"I don't know. But it doesn't matter now does it? Before, if you had asked, id have said id have worked to save Repliforce. Now... I realize how bad that choice would have been. I see these days the lesson had to learn back then. I understand so much now. Sigma... even as an evil tyrant was still our greatest teacher." Zero replies calmly. His gaze still haunted by memory as he gazes out. "IT was thanks to those lessons, that I still stand here. Even with out my memory some part of those.. choices had remained. They guided my blade and hopes as I stood against Neo Arcadia and Dr. Wile. I am not a hero, I am not some savier. I am merely one who guards and defends the ideals of those I care for. Protecting their dreams, and sharing the desire of a better world."
"So you break the law, to save the world? You willingly cut down a human to save the land? And what of all those lives you have taken here in the land of peace? A world with no mavericks, yet you still shed blood." X asks darkly.

"I am not proud of all of my choices, however I still follow my ideals. No land is truly peaceful. Harmony needs chaos. Life needs death, but I shall still fight to keep my friend safe. The dragons had attacked them. No matter what race. Human, reploid, equine, or monster, any enemy that rises against my friends.. I shall protect them from. Just as they protect their own people, I shall protect them."

"And if a friend attacks a friend? Who will you battle?"
"I shall stop both of them." Zero says without hesitation. "X.. This darkness.. I shall save you.."
"Zero... Maverick. I shall destroy you."

"dont worry X.. I remember our promise, but I will not destroy you. I know now that combat is also communication. I shall show you the strength of my convictions.. and open your eyes."

"DIE MAVERICK SCUM!" X yells as light fills the room, as a fully charged blast shoots forward, deflected by a purple and blue glowing shield.
"Thanks girls.. now.. lets save our friend." Zero says as he smiles and rushes forward. Not drawing his blade as he leaps over a second charged blast. "KAIOKEN FOCUS RUSH." Zero calls as extra power shoved into his body, letting him zip faster, closing the distance as he strikes X's chest plate. A weak point as X is launched back by the force. The energy fades out as Zero Dives to the side as a series of shots fly past him. AS he stands up, he watches a force field defended rainbow dash dive around catching the blasts for her friends as AJ charges forward. Twilight and Rarity in fierce concentration as Fluttershy and Pinkie pie spread out to run around the edge of the arena. X seems to ignore them all, the hunter glares daggers at Zero. -eyes on me.. perfect- Zero thought as he also charges ahead, it was easy for hm to keep X's attention, as rage blinded the hunter's instincts.
Which made no real sense to Zero in thought as he rushed over. Even in rage, X was methodical.. why would he only focus on 1 target?
Simple: he wasn't.
X smiles, as he turns his buster and fires a charged blast at Fluttershy, before turning to open fire on Applejack.
the Strategy was perfect. Timed just as X normally would have, and Zero had fallen for it. Rainbow dives to defend Aj, as Fluttershy hops to the side, avoiding most of the blast. She yells as her wing is struck.
"Fluttershy!"
The effect was instant, X rushes forward, as the Barrier around Rainbow fades, kicking the stunned pegasus in the head and knocking her into the earth pony she had just defended. Twilight and Rarity hurried towards Fluttershy as pinkie pie froze in shock.

"You shot.. Fluttershy." Zero murmers. "Why? Shes not.. a combatant.. why would you.."

"All allies of MAvericks.. shall be eliminated." X comments Coldly as he raises his buster. "Your guards down. Bye Zero."
Zero snaps out of his mental trance as A fully charged buster shot slams into his chest. X watches as Zero hits the wall and falls to the floor. "Here is where it ends.. Maverick."

Everything I touch is tainted. Everyone I care for, ends up dead. Maybe... I should die.. That way no one else gets hurt..
"Zero!"
The voice reaches him as he thinks and focuses on it.
"WE gotta go now! EEP!"
That voice.. Applejack.
"Fluttershy! she needs help! WE need help!" Rarity....
"We cant just leave him there!"
.... TWilight... shes.. in trouble. All of them are.. I... can't... not yet.
/of course you can... I thought you wanted to die./

Zero stirs as he stands up and grumbles..
"Thank you... Green Swordsman."
X turns and growls. "You.. Finally serious?"
Twin blades answer the question as Zero draws his saber, and The blade of the Green swordsman. The longer hilt would take some getting used to.. but that was not the focus.
"Sorry... I will keep my promise to you.. X. I never answered... but I decided. I would be the one.. who would stop you." Zero smiles as he vanishes. Appearing next to X. "You want my full potential? You got it." Then he was gone, a Rainbow trail behind him as he about, and slams X in the face. Then from behind. The ponies watch as a rainbow slams the insane hunter over and over again as Portals are slowly created. A portal above, and sudden one below as The rainbow flows and the portals are added. X couldn't keep up, Zero's speed, his patterns, and the Colors had overloaded X's mind as pain flows through ever part of his body. Fear was coming to the hunter as he suddenly realized he was airborne.
"I'm sorry it had to end this way." Zero calls softly, standing next to a portal, the blades held up as power flowed through them.
"Genmu.. Zero," Zero swings a blade as a wave of energy flashes, but unlike before,Zero dd not land on the floor instead.. X's eyes are drawn to a second portal, as he watches Zero fall through. "Assault." The green swordsman's blade seems to sing as Genmu Zero is used again. The beams meeting perfectly in the center as Zero falls through. Touching the ground as the waves combine,, and the energy within explodes.

"Well done.. Zero.. But not enough." X mutters as he slams into the ground and bounces. He moves into a crouch as Zero gazes.
"I still don't want you dead X. After all.. I'm not a Maverick." Zero smirks as X grumbles.
"Perhaps... not... after all.. maybe... I am wrong... then... I just.. don't know any... more..." X Admits as he teleports away. Zero watches as the beam of light fades.

"Neither do I X. I can only.. move forward." Zero says to himself as he turns to the others. "Come on girls.. lets get Fluttershy to a doctor." HE blinks as he looks about, then smiles as he picks up the commically frozen Pinkie pie. "And Pinkie might need some help too I think."

[end notes: I don't think this has any real place in the story so far, but I wanted to try my first attempt at a Zero Vs X battle. As well as hint at some of the things to come later on in the story. Why is X acting so strange, being one of them.
The majority of the battle though is due to a constant mental theme in my head. Red Vs blue. While partly due to the Fantastic web series of the same name, its also due to the dynamic of rival characters. While some start off with attempts at each other's life, most end up as a friendly companion ship. Combos such as Ky Vs Sol, sonic Vs shadow, Ryu vs Ken, and yes, X vs Zero. They have struck my mind a lot lately, and they are what lead to this little thing here. I made a lot of artistic choices, trying to convey the confusion in Zero's mind. Such as the parts with Dialog with no set person saying the lines. That was done intentionally, you can probably GUESS who says what, but the mesh up of it all is due to Zero's stumbling between letting himself finally rest, and getting back up.
But yeah with that in mind I hope you enjoyed the chapter here.. I listened to a lot of Guilty gear, Red vs blue, and even had to share the FF7 chip song I was listening to as I typed the one part. (IT FIT SO WELL!) But yeah this was done fo rfun, so just enjoy ok?]

Today was a rare day in the town of Ponyville. Of course, you saw the usual birds singing.. the sun shining.. ponies milling about as usual. Fluttershy was taking care of her critters, Twilight actually had a busy day at the library [Some school thing to promote reading], Pinkie was working on trying to make Color changing cupcakes that didn't make the town ill, Aj was as always at her farm, heck even Rarity and RD where busy with their jobs.

Leaving Zero alone as he wanders about aimlessly.. He had always fought for times like these.. always dreamed of the day when nothing wanted to kill him, nothing was exploding, [not counting Sugar cube Corner in any case..] no one was panicking, nothing at all. He sat down as he reflected on the most unusual situation and scenario. One he had yet to ever encounter before.
Omega Zero, the great maverick hunter, hero of thousands and thousands of battles, savior of the planet more times than he wanted to count, faced his most difficult challenge yet, boredom. No one wanted his help, no one needed his help, and he had nothing to do. This was a rare time, and Zero was certainly thankful for that, walking along the hills of the land.
"Maybe I can ride my... Bike?" [Nope that was getting fixed from his LAST joy ride] "Okay what about the Guardians?" [Busy with paper work, and all that jazz.] He stands there for a few moments, processing as many ideas he could outside of 'sword training that he could think of.. in the end.. the hunter gave up and just decided to walk.
"Maybe I can visit Canterlot.. see how the princesses are doing..."
[And in the mean time Cause mass panic from the people who still thought he was a monster]
"What about the cave where I found my pony Duplicate?"
[Your duplicate is at the hospital healing from your last battle remember?]
"X?"
[Busy leading Arcadia with Ciel]
"Sigma?"
[He went to look at the Changling race remember? Something about 'alternative uses of magic']
"And the Changling spy squad?"
[followed Sigma to learn about Alternate weapon styles. Face it Buddy, your on your own.]
Zero shakes his head as he removes his helmet.. feeling the wind blow against his face, watching his hair flow about. "Rarity.. would have a fit if she saw me like this.. feels nice though." he smirks and does his best Rarity impression.. "Oh Zero look at what you have done with your Lovely hair.. getting all that dirt and wind on it..." the hunter laughs to himself laying back on the grass.. looking at the sunny bright sky.

After spending a few minutes watching the clouds, Zero stands up and stretches out his body. "Well lets see.. hmm.. just my pistol and.. AHH forgot my blade upgrades at home."
[Home?]
"The library.. where im resting?"
[I think of that as home now?]
The mental connection made him pause as he smiles softly. "Why not? Everyone is here after all.. My friends are close.. everyone is safe and happy... So why not think of this as home?"
[Don't ask me, im YOUR logical brain function.. I am only your memory service.. stop talking to me.. it's unnatural.]]
"Says the logical portion that was talking BACK at me."
[.... Touch'e] The hunter chuckles as he holds his gun and blade. [You have your elemental chips though.. and as you haven't used any, HARMONY is at maximum right now.]
"I think its time..for some... random exploration!"
[Everfree? Or the Diamond Dog caves?]
" CAVES!!"
[15 meters to the north..] -Zero turns- [Your other north.. that's south] -Zero turns again- [Good man.. ]
-One great over done 4 hour cavern exploration later-

Zero hops out of the hole as the yells increase below. "I said I was sorry! I didn't know you ATE them!" Zero sighs as he walks along back to the town.. wiping off his sweat as he finds the helmet he had forgotten to carry. "Well That was a fun Experience.."

"OH MY GOODNESS LOOK AT YOUR HAIR! WHAT DID YOU DO TO IT?"
Zero rolls his eyes as he sees Rarity rush over. "Just a little exploring."
"UNDER GROUND?"
Zero smiles and nods as he holds out a random gem stone. "Think Spike will like this one?"
Rarity looks at the stone and then sighs grabbing Zero's hair with her telekinesis. "Just come along you.. Don't want Twilight to see you all messy now do we? My word.. I dare say Fluttershy even would faint in horror at your appearance. Honest I don't even understand what would possess you to do such a silly thing, why if I had hair like that.."
Zero listens to her randomly trail on and on about his hair as he lets her lead him to the Boutique.. the sun was starting to set..

Maybe peace wasn't such a bad thing after all.
