Main character isn't a guy,not overly powerful or boasting about being a human,not whining about how their life sucks,not fighting others for no reason,no one in the story is acting OOC in an overly aggressive,idiotic,or sexual way, pony knowledge of technology in MLP is noted, ponies already knowing what death is and understanding its sometimes needed is noted,prince blueblood not being portrayed as some sick villain nut or weak idiot. Hes one of my favorite guys and its annoying to see that in every fanfiction.
I thought I'd never see the day I'd ever type this but this is the probably the first only actually well done HIE fanfiction I've ever read. Please continue.

I don't know. This isn't a crossover as Roya and her world is purely of my creation. Maybe it sounds similar to sci-fi stories out there?

It IS a police procedural HiE fic. I DO watch those and I use tid-bits for inspiration but nothing is ripped from them. Plus, I try to do some research before hand to be a bit realistic. I.E. Investigation of the body is usually done by a separate unit, sometimes that unit isn't even police but purely civilian, such as real life Miami's Crime Scene Investigation Unit. (CSI - Ahem, Real Life one)
Bones is a good one if you want more of the technical style. Castle is more of this flavor, though the show is very humorous because of Richard Castle himself. The Closer was a good serious one. There are other shows out there, some of which range differently from being realistic to more dramatic.
For example of research usage, the Novimus City Police Department uses a similar ranks as Philadelphia police. There are still acceptable breaks, considering Roya is from a futuristic world that has colonized the whole solar system.

It seems as though everybody is making chapters that end in cliffhangers, maybe I should make my latest chapter end in a cliffhanger.
I normally have little interest in HiE type stories, except where the human can contribute to some sort of original storyline. This fic would likely also have turned me off, if not for the detective aspects. It actually reminds me a little of Eureka, with the out-of-place Sheriff in a (crazy) new town. I deserves more views and reviews than it has, and I hope it continues.
