After the mishap at Sweet Apple Acres, Flim and Flam find themselves shunned far and wide by the extended Apple Family, who, as it turns out, control nearly all of Equestria's apple orchards. With no source of fuel to create their cider, the twins realize that the goal which they have worked for since they were foals may never come to fruition, forcing them to pursue other lines of work until they can figure out their next course of action. Unfortunately, it seems the two only have one place to go, where finding assistance may prove difficult unless they can swallow their pride and right the wrongs they created in the past. Rated teen for some more serious themes that may arise in the future.

Nice. Almost no Flim and Flam stories on this site, so they are a nice break from the Pokémon crossovers and My Little Dashie spinoffs/parodies.

It's coming, I promise. It's about halfway to completion, but that's because I've been spending a lot of time constructing ideas for other fics. Once I finish the first chapter of my newest story, I'm going to put all of my effort into Nonpareil.
I always had a feeling that the Apple Family was going to turn out to be a monopoly. I actually feel bad for Flim and Flam, they didn't deserve to have their livelihoods ruined because they offered AJ some competition.

My thoughts exactly. As I've established, I never agreed with the general consensus that the twins were simply scumbags trying to scam people; in my mind, they must've had a good reason for pushing their business as hard as they did. Most likely, that reason is that the Apples were being too stubborn to see the logic in allowing them to assist with making their cider, thus leading to an overall increase in profits. As AJ so elegantly put it, "Don't use yer fancy mathematics to muddy the issue!"
2468768 Yeah, I never really saw Flim and Flam as evil scammers either. In fact, I think that it's reasonable to assume that based on the episodes where we have seen them, the Apple Family single-hoofedly stopped any further developments concerning the Industrial Revolution in Ponyville.
This one seems pretty promising, actually. It's incredibly rare to find ANY Flim Flam Brothers stories, much less a story in which they aren't villains.
The prose could do with some whimsy and polish. While it does a good job at moving the story along at a brisk pace (getting right to the point), it doesn't do much for the imagination. Other than the vanilla writing (not an insult, btw; vanilla is my second-favorite flavor) I got nothing to complain about.
