Some refinement in interactions would be good, so here's hoping the revising and new proofreaders work well for you. You might try adding more subtext to how characters and cultures mix together. And possibly express whether any of the new arrivals have any chance at returning to their own space. In the case of the Tau, if they are truly cut off, perhaps the Ethereal leading them decides to re-approach The Greater Good a bit differently and in unity with Equestria by way of more Equestrian-based worldviews.

There are a lot of directions you can go. Don't forget to ask yourself what a character might be thinking and why they make their choice. The perspectives that lead to a choice can really bring it to life.

I'm usually not one for the darker fics, but Tau'Va caught my eye enough to give it a go.

And for no reason...Spaceponies sounds awesome right now.
