Well, if the idea is popular enough, I might expand it to include the rest of the Mane 6. For example, Rarity falls into debt and loses her job, Twilight is expelled from Canterlot for some reason, so on and so forth...
But, yes, it's implied that Fluttershy killed herself in the end.

I find that My heart is only touched by things such as Days gone past and distant memories, You know? Things like that.
Suicide is something im really not affected by since I Once and Currently still am dealing with Depression, But when it comes to Heartfelt things such as
Goodbyes and mournful regrets and coping with loss, i lose it, the floodgates open and the Emergency shutoff Valve jams
If you do chose to continue this story with a sequel/Part 2 or an epilogue, make it something like an aftermath and her friends wondering if they somehow encouraged this by Supposedly abandoning her, Thats what i would recommend anyway

It wasn't rushed... but I had trouble in 'feeling' Fluttershy doing it. For an emotional pipe-bomb, she's very apathetic about taking her own life
5912 Nah, Pinkamena is overated. How about the rope not being strong enought and break. But that doesn't happen before severing her neck. Now Fluttershy is wheelchair-bound for life, just adding to her misery.

I would suggest making sequels about how the other 5 react to the news. Maybe Twi is so overcome with guilt (friendship thing started with her, all those letters to the princess...) that she follows suit. They would all feel guilty and responsible, but Twi gets a bit neurotic, right?

Aaw, this story is just depressing
But, on a better note, I think this story has great potential for a sequel. Just imagine, Fluttershy's friends learn of her departure, and make an attempt to string thier relationships back together. It'll be hard, and secrets from *back then* will be revealed, but it will all be worth it in the end.
