While Nightmare Moon is gone along with the threat of Eternal Night, the essence of the Nightmare still exists after the Elements of Harmony banished it from Princess Luna.
Having had a year to plan, it has now turned its sights toward what it sees as the weakest of the Elements' bearers.
A storm is brewing...

But srsly that's some good stuff that you don't find everywhere(maybe I'm wrong maybe not) hope to see more in the future. Oh and always look behiind you...never know when a car comes speedin' from the side

One minor quibble with this chapter, Spike kinda just appeared out of nowhere despite not appearing in Ch. 5 or 6 or most of 7 then randomly finds the book needed, his character seems poorly integrated in this particular instance. Overall I'm enjoying the story.
That was pretty good, I like how the nightmare for yours twists the desires of each individually instead of being a sentient parasite. Made for an interesting antagonist where Dash was concerned. Being a weather pony and having a life building storms and then being forced to create the worst one imaginable while not directly caring what it does to anyone else was a nice touch. Not really malevolent but certainly not benevolent. True indifference is what made this story for me. Not often you have a story with an antagonist that doesn't care one way or another.
Awesome story and thankyou for writing, I had a great time reading it.(And I love how you point out your view on what grimdark is, and I agree, grimdark in the basic sense is more about dramtic suspense/irony and less about the gore and horror aspect.(Though ofcourse some stories use the gore and horror to make the world darker and create a stronger feel of suspence)
I think you did fine overall, I was hooked the whole story throughout and most of all when they had the (Twisted reality) mindsets toward the end, I love that idea.
Only thing I wonder, where did the password come from? I was confused why AJ knew, was it mentioned earlier and I just missed it?

this story is just excellent, all that happened wonderfull, and then those tests, so cruel so evil so painfull, i mean Fluttershy almost forced to kill her beloved animals, Rarity almost becoming a prostitute, and Twilight having having in a way the same experience as rainbow dash only worse with the betrayal from her parents, even though Scootaloos was pretty weak and obvious what would happen, but still, this story is FANTASTIC
