Twilight Sparkle has done much in her life. She’s saved Equestria from Chaos and Nightmares, from Tyranny and Invasion. She has gone from being just Celestia’s student, learning about friendship, to the royal archmage of Canterlot, head of all magical theory.
So when a letter comes, tearing apart everything she has held onto for years, how will she act? To what lengths will she go to solve what she see’s as the greatest injustice in the history of ponykind?

So I changed it from mature to teen. Left the gore tag though... I will need to think on it, decide if I truly want it.

While Twilight does tend to overreact to things, immediately starting to plot a revolution seems a bit overboard even for her. She's had time to think the better of it, and yet refuses to just confront Celestia already. Celestia, of course, isn't just holding the idiot ball, she's swallowed the goddamn thing and is beating her belly like a bongo drum! A couple examples of her brilliant leadership:

While I can understand most of their reasoning, claiming that a cello player is important enough to warrant special attention... strikes me as a bit odd. All the others showed their importance during the show (except Vinyl; however she got to play on her own during a royal wedding, not as part of a band like Octavia)

For your second comment, in this Twilight is just about as powerful as Luna and Celestia. There isn't much they can do. Also, if you don't plan to continue reading this, fair enough. Good story so far, shame its cancelled, would have liked to see it finished.
