Most scoff at the past, stuffing it rudely behind them as they shove through and press their gaze forward towards the future. Some never can, no matter how powerful they may be. And, no matter who they are, the past always catches up. Always.

Ever been so drunk you accidentally put the author's notes in the comment box instead of the author's note box before submitting?
I have. Now.
DrunkTest comment, please ignore.3221912 Discord ain't done with the references...we've a ways to go, yet, and he's pretty much the only one that's actually allowed to be genre savvy (so far...jury's still out on Pinkie Pie, but I'll ford that river when I get there).
Oddly enough, no one's caught on to Discord's red trenchcoat, or the black and white handcannons. Alas, my painfully awkward videogame/anime references, they languish in obscurity!
I knew I should have given Discord a pair of yellow-lensed sunglasses.

I will not ignore. This infraction will not be forgotten, dammit.

Oh, thank the Fates. Considering my entire story is effectively one long drunk post, I'd be really sad if people forgot my inebriated shenanigans.
But now I'm immortalized. Yay!
About time damn I been waiting for like well when was the last time a chapter was put up? Yea that long! So Luna got a crush on Nix. Celestia talking dirty to Nix as well. Might as well bring up Dancie tits again or better yet Luna and Celestia boobs as well?
3232109 Oh, is that what you think is going to happen? You and everyone else has no idea where I'm taking this. Makes for a better story.
But yes, there will still be crass jokes about sexuality. But only if they're funny. Ish.
3232149 I like Celestia not Molestia having that side to her it shows that she real not just some well some goddess thats above that if you know what I mean?
3232159 Yeah, I do. Not saying that's how I'm gonna write her specifically, but the fact that all gods are fallible is something that will probably be recurring. Celestia just tends to make fewer mistakes, and appears less "normal", than the other characters, is all. .
Except for Discord. That motherfucker seems to play everything just right.
3232893 You're the only person with a prereader password. You could have read the chapter as I updated it whenever you wanted.
3232999 Hey boobs are boobs are they not?
3232999 I regret ever making that joke.
3235573 I hear ya'. This one time I got so drunk I started writing a trilogy after not writing any stories since middle school.
3235582 assuming that this is the trilogy. People are loving your story. Really since middle school? I'm a sophomore and within the two weeks that I've been back in school I've writin two essays.
3245480 Yes, this is the trilogy, and yeah, haven't written a proper story since 8th grade (and that one was all of 8 pages long?). I changed towns at the start of high school, and all my writing assignments in high school English were literary critiques, not creative writing.
I've touched on this in the past, but to sum up: I've been reading adult novels since elementary school, that last story I wrote in middle school caused my teacher to accuse me of plagiarism because "it was too professional, and better than she could do", and in high school/my early 20s I wrote hundreds of thousands of words about my life on Livejournal.
I've had a lot of practice when it comes to writing. When it comes to storytelling, not so much. That's...probably the reason I've gotten away with not having an editor/prereaders for so long, and even now I still cringe at some of the things I've written when I periodically reread my own story.
(My 8th grade English teacher was an idiot, anyway. That story I wrote was awful. Like, Dean-Koontz-in-the-last-fifteen-years awful. Then there's the problem I have where parentheses and hyphenated strings of words make me happy in my pants region.)
3245819 okay much more sense. As for what you did in highschool, well would you laugh if the two essays where to practice literary arguments. Which could be considered literary critiques, maybe.
3245850 (Wow, how did I miss this? Sorry for the late response.)
Essays, literary 'arguments', most writing assignments in public high schools in the U.S.... Honestly, I couldn't tell you. To me, Western literary critique was just a fancy, academic way of rationalizing "probable bullshit". The more charismatic and intelligent you are, the more capable you are of redacting an author's story and replacing it with rationalized symbolism and a masturbatory exploitation of metaphor. The human brain is really good at finding patterns, even where none exist, and it's exceptionally easy to draw unfounded conclusions when you're given an entire body of literature with which to shore up your own bullshit. To me, that was pretty much my entire high school English experience: Read this book; Tell us what the author really wanted to say; you get an 'A' if you're good enough at pulling shit out of your ass.
Herman Hesse, Henry James, George Orwell, Richard Wright...I'd feel a little disgusted with their stories if they intentionally wrote them with the 'underlying themes' I casually cited in my numerous high school essays. I was good at bullshitting...
They had hidden themes, sure. But first and most importantly, they were good stories. School never seemed to care about whether a story was good or not, just whether a story was suited for an essay questionnaire.
Damn, I'm drunk.
So, sophomore in high school? Just outta curiosity, why are you an editor?
3269792 "English experience: Read this book; Tell us what the author really wanted to say; you get an 'A' if you're good enough at pulling shit out of your ass."
That is pretty much half the reason I'm in Honors English. The other half is that my conventions are usually spot on. As for why I'm an editor, well I can not write, nor don't feel the drive to write. In fact writing this comment is hell. My scentences are choppy, I tend to go on tangents. In fact, my writing capability or lack of, is why I have a B in Honors. Much more do I enjoy reading. Plus if I can help other people write the stories I enjoy reading why the hell not. (God, rereading this makes me laugh. Especially when I go look and see how well structured your comment is.)

You'd be surprised how often I feel the same way when I'm discussing something with one of the many, far-more talented writers on this site, honestly.
Wait Alexander The Great Alexander or just coincidence?
Like the spear that pierced Christ's body or different?
