Corporal Kevin James Green of the 75th Army Ranger’s Division is sent to scout for Taliban forces surrounding Bagram AFB after a surprise attack during a sandstorm. The recon goes wrong however when the Blackhawk he and Private Clarence G. Powell crashes into Sweet Apple Acres after passing through an Anomaly in the field. Kevin thinks this must be a dream come true, until he realizes the Equestria he knows and loves is only a surface view of the struggles of Pony society.

It's going fairly well, the alternate reality is going to take some getting used to, it was rather...for lack of a better word...overwhelming, but I think I can get used to it. Although one word, cliffhangers! God those things they are evil, evil I say. A few grammar errors, I didn't really take note, I'm not much of a proof reader, one was lack of a space after a comma and another I remember was when you went to spell "her" you wrote "he", that seems to be common on many stories though. All in all I'd say it's good, keep it up, can't wait to see their reactions to a machine such as a helicopter, or the people inside it. A small group of US soldiers should make a large difference in a world where wars are fairly rare, the presence of a race who can't go more than 20 years without fighting one is a major power shift.
Its an interesting take putting humans into a war-torn Equestria, though what of Celestia and Luna? Not sure if that's going to be explained or not but that should be something to touch on (would imagine if this takes place as an alternative ending to S2 where the mane six failed to stop the Changelings).
I don't have many other qualms about it, perhaps putting a bit more into this chapter and flushing out more events that would bring the ponies up to this point (plus finding that radio seemed a bit odd, didn't know the ponies had radio-type devices.)
Look forward to see where its going, tbh I wrote something like this way back in the day, only towards a different fandom interest.

So far so good, still with the twist though...like the main character being a Brony...that was actually a minor let down, I had thought this would be one where the show doesn't exist and it was just some inter-dimensional travel thing. Ah well...I have other stories that are those. Of course as for how Kevin will break the truth of not being able to contact his superiors however...

I don't like how the ponies have fully developed firearms- muskets could make sense, but cartridges? They didn't exist until about 800 years after the first weapon was made.

That is about 641 years after gun powder is marked as being created in China(modern day China).
So, they aren't far from fully automatic fire arms, if they advance on a similar scale to humans that is.

2186010 I understand your conscern, if i could and not have a scene where the ponies are scares witless by automatic weaponry, i would. however, this seems slightly logical to me with their advancement of weapons seeing as they have real, effective magic to aid in reserch, unlike humans, possibly cutting down on the years to their current stage in arms development.
I do like that you are keeping me in check on the guns though,. kudos
