What is it with reviving the dead, this time of year. This is the third story that has been dormant for ~so long, then suddenly gets an update, almost a year to the day later.
3655769 Yeah, I've noticed this too, I think its cause of the holiday an the new mlp season, inspiration and rememberance and all that, love the new chapter by the way, loved fluttershy's directness though It was awesome.
36558073655769 I'd actually attribute it to the woes of Post-Secondary education. Winter is the only time where college students are really 'free.' Most don't find a job to replace their campus employment over break (especially if they go away to college), and they are generally cooped up with their families, nothing to do while parents go to work and younger siblings go to school, which effectively seems to instill the kind of "cabin fever" that most students need to explore their less-frequented hobbies.
3655851 I had fun with that. I wanted to merge the stereotypical conservative farmer trope with the concept that Applejack's friendship was more powerful than her beliefs. That being said, this wasn't near a serious as I could have made it, and maybe a little bit trivial in actuality, but I like subverting the status quo. So I did, kind of.
3656528 About that... When I first started writing this, I really didn't think about it. In retrospect, Celestia is probably about the most OOC the could be, and Fluttershy isn't any better. Now I'll apologize for not portraying Celestia's character right, but for Fluttershy I'm only sorry I couldn't make my point more effectively. I like to think that Fluttershy has a more dominant "bedroom personality" - when she is with other ponies, her shyness gets lost to all of the hormones and feels, and she experiences bursts of confidence. I regret that I wasn't able to portray this very well in the first chapter, but I believe that you'll find that as you go (and as my style evolves) this might be more understandable. That being said, I appreciate the commentary and will definitely look into this going forward. Please let me know how you feel about this if and when you get to the latest chapter.
3656528 I edited the first chapter on a whim, hopefully making the somewhat unconventional personalities attached to my characters easier to understand. It may seem as if I didn't completely nail Celestia's personality, but believe me, you will understand eventually. As for Flutters, I tried to isolate the two personalities a little more, so her confidence will be more specifically relegated to certain events.
Story art is seductively seductive.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

Well, that was the most perfunctory bigotry I've seen in a while. Poor dear was just looking for an excuse to give stallions the flick.

I guess all that's missing now is Rarity. Then an 8-way, with all of the main (or should I say "mane") six, plus the two princesses.
PS: the thought of sending les-bee-whatevers to the moon is simply hilarious. I wonder what AppleJack thinks Celestia does to bi-whatever ponies.
