Good job on the recap, btw. I think you pretty much nailed it. The flow was good, the pacing was fine, and I wasn't bored at all while reading it, despite knowing the whole story already. Zecora was about a B+, but that's not bad at all. Rhymes aren't easy.

My apolgies but I feel I must criticize. I really do understand the idea of showing the suffering of a character from physical and psychological torment and that was done here quite well. But in my mind someone abusing someone like this is (all morality aside) unneccesary and frankly quite boring because the villain becomes so 1-dimensional. There's no real rhyme or reason to it, just evil for the sake of evil and that makes it feel so artificial. This also irks me on a personal level because I rather like Chrysalis and it makes me feel like the character's potential is just being wasted. It's on that basis that I feel this chapter is a step in the wrong direction. Still love the entire series and this chapter isn't really that bad unless you want to be an over-opinionated ass about it, but this feels like the weakest chapter out of all of them to me.

Here's the thing though. Chrysalis told Shade and Fluttershy BOTH that she was gonna break her, she told Shade when he died and Fluttershy when she saw Shade's body. There's one crucial part to her doing this that I can't say due to spoilers (and if you really MUST know send me a PM) but showing this now is going to make way for something quite interesting.
