Interesting mecha-theme story.
Besides Twilight Sparkle having gone all cyborg, I think I have a few guesses to the core of each MAGI mecha...
1. The Crimson Core - AppleJack? (pure guess since no actual clues besides being "red")
2. The Haze Lord - Rainbow Dash (clues: pushing the pilot to their limits, rainbow beam attack, ultimate sacrifice of/for loyalty)
3. The Inverse Logic - Pinkie Pie (clue: the name)
4. The Merciful End - Fluttershy (clues: gold armor, "fluttering" wings, singing, crying)
5. The Mournful Lover - Princess Cadence (stated in story)
6. Nidhogg - Spike? (since the norse myth Nidhogg was a serpent/dragon)
7. Patterner - ???

Bit disappointed this is dead. Not sure if I would have liked it, but it sounds very intriguing from what was posted.
Rather curious what on Earth is up with the plotting going on in the background. The dragons are saying Equestria is power hungry, the General is unknown, and Nexus seems to be trying to recover the Elements (assuming that they are not at the cores of those six mecha already) or bring the Bearers back somehow?
Nexus is a master of the Xanatos gambit. Makes sense considering they had THE best teacher for that.
