In the making, it was intended to be a oneshot, dedicated to that episode. I suppose, in it's completion, it doesn't really feel that complete. Perhaps I'll continue it, depending on the recognition it gets. If I do, I'll be sure to remove the 'completed' status.

I don't think that makes you a bad person, I think it makes you a chaotic neutral. And I noticed you like changelings. I do too. If only that RD sprite on here was a changeling, that would be entertaining.
This story is following canon episode nicely, however there is one think what I find out of place.
Sure Cicada betrayed her Hive by cooperating with Pinkie and helping her, however none of changeling's saw her do it.
I do not get it why Queen put all responsibility for failure on her, it make no sense, all what Cicada would need to say is to explain her Queen that entire Hive failed to impersonate Pinkie well enough, that instead of making ponies happy like PinkiePie would do, they were running all over the place, destroying everything, annoying every pony, and Ponies just decided to get rid of them, and that she tried her best to stay in Ponyvile, but even with her best efforts she failed.
All she had to do is blame other changeling's for doing bad job, and as much as it is a lie, it is also the true, if all changelings would not be so annoying, ponyvile would not try to get rid of them.
As for now, I am going for next chapter.
I rather expected Cicada to be visited by PikniePie, tell her what happened, and then get her from PinkiePie to hide in Ponyvile as some sort of cousin or something, I did not expect storyline to turn into other direction, oh well, lets see what happen next.

I wanted to have Pinkie Pie come back in, but the direction the story was taking prevented that. I hope to have her appear a little later in the story, once I figure out where I'm going next with it. Oh, as for the queen banishing Cicada so quickly, there's a reason for that. Since it was Cicada's idea alone, she took responsibility for the outcome of the plan, for better or worse. She acted too quickly in moving the plan ahead, didn't give the hive time to prepare, therefore she caused the failure. You know, I really don't like trying to defend my story's validity while chastising Cicada's actions. It's painful.
Oh, my... this is certainly... a thing. An interesting and original predicament, as far as I'm aware!
