Well!
I'd say half-time, but I really have no idea if that will be the case. I chose to split the second part into a different story, because I plan on using a different narrative. When the next part passes moderation, I'll post the link here.

Part two will contain copious amounts of implied shipping, with new and old combinations at the same time! (shameless commercial)
Interesting... But I have to ask something, even though I probably overlooked it. What about Generosity and Kindness? If Rarity's dead and Fluttershy's to much of a coward, I find myself wondering who might end up replacing them.
Okay, lesse... Twilight and Applejack have outright failed (Would that mean their elements no longer respond to them? That'd be a beautiful sight), the only reason I think Rarity can't hold her element is because of her death, Dashie's still the eternally loyal Dashie we know, Pinkie's trying her hardest but simply CAN'T bring laughter to others (would that make her unworthy of her element or could she and Vinyl BOTH bake use of it in given situations?) and Fluttershy's apparently stopped treading the line and completely turned into a doormat(Would that have kindness make way for cowardice? I'm not sure...). Something like that or am I way off?
Also, I think Celes WOULD do something like that, if only to stop the madness as much as possible. Looking forward to what comes next... assuming these 'New elements' survive.

Generosity and Kindness ha ve not been named by Luna. Next point of the discussion would have been it, but the bad news threw her off balance. Technically, they will be revealed in part two.
As for Fluttershy: I wish to portray that she is too meek; even if she tried to spread her kindness, everypony else is too much on the edge to accept it, and just shout at her and whatnot. Pinkie's plight will be the center of chapter one or three, tops, of part two. Also, spoiler: I'm not going for insane Pinkie. That's overused by now, and I feel I've got something better of a disposition planned for her.
Pro tip: part two will contain character tags in the author notes, because there will be a lot of viewpoints to the story... so I decided to add placeholder Luna, Mane6, Trixie, MMD and Other tags. Rest assured, there will be MORE characters than those
I'm still holding out for Trixie x Shining Armor in this story.
"you have always believed in them"
Good thing you don't know about Gilda, now do you?
Don't take my line too seriously, it's just a minor, personal issue.
By the way, Azure City? What, is there a secret order of paladins running around?
I'd say such a place would be out of character, but given the goblinoid massacres, I wouldn't be surprised.
If you can get what I'm referencing, you have +1 nerd chops.

Comment one: Luna truly doesn't know the slightest about Gilda, and Rainbow, when forced to choose between her friends, chose the ones who didn't act like jerks all the time. So, it was somehow justified.
Comment two: I mainly chose the city name because it sounds good, and fits with the theme. All incoming protests will be handled by Mr. Scruffy.

Justified or not, she still lost faith in one of her friends, and seemed to not care that much at it..It's not the act in and of itself at the time, it's the lack of personal aftermath, especially considering some of the jerkish or destructive things they'd go on to do. Hell, in a previous episode, Applejack's dedication caused a lot more harm than Gilda's short attention span obnoxiousness rampage.
It's one of those niggling things that gets me wondering if Friendship Is Witchcraft is right to make a joke involving dubbing over the respective traits.

Well, I guess there is the issue of being friends with a creature that could very much eat you for dinner, being carnivore, 'n all.
Still, just as you said, Luna does not know about the little *ahem* troubles they had with their personalities going into overdrive. From her viewpoint, Rainbow didn't misact considering her element-- which is mostly true. Mostly. Still, there exists no deep character without flaws.

No, but there do often exist missed opportunities. And this seemed like one in-show.
Also, it kind of undermines a later episode, specifically Return of Harmony, regarding how friendship isn't easy, but it's worth fighting for. Apparently not.
Dun-dun-dun sequeeeel! (Edit: it's up.)
