Also, congrats on the EQD feature!

How does this story have so many referrals from Equestria Daily and only 19 likes? Weird. I assume this was inspired by The Secret Life of Walter Middy? (spelling?)

Amazing! Love how Ditzy goes off on her little daydreams. It adds lots of excitement to the story.

3830654 I believe it is spelled as Mitty instead of Middy.

3830654 Bingo. I first read the story in sixth grade, and though I couldn't wrap my head around it at the time, I loved the idea of jumping from the mundane to the in-your-face extraordinary. It's a fun concept to play with.

3831150 Totaly agree. And it was an enjoyable movie too. I won a contest to watch it months before it came out at a the Toronto Film Festival.

3831242 The movie (if I'm remembering right) actually doesn't really share anything with the story other than the name and the daydreaming part:twilightsheepish:

Pleasure to see this on EQD, bravo.

3833473 I never did read the book, though I do really enjoy the idea of it.

Awesome story, I love the secret life of walter mitty. He kinda reminds me of myself how I daydream throughout every day life. Oh, and I don't think I'll make it to Chicago. The rest of my family wants to go to San Fran. :pinkiesad2:

one billion volts of current

That hurt. Physically. :twilightoops: Pun intended. Sorry.

Aside from being extraordinarily picky, I really enjoyed it.
The smooth transitions make it slightly challenging to follow through, but it is fun to try and pinpoint where the line between reality and imagination is drawn.
It makes for a nice, happy, short story, wonderfully contained in itself.

great story - i love the daydreaming interludes. the restaurant one suckered me in... :D

I didn't have much trouble tracking between fantasy and reality when I figured out that Derpy was the real one and Ditzy was all her fantasies. I was a little confused that the fantasies always reflected her mood, and that she couldn't escape her own self-criticism. (Talking to herself in the fancy restaurant? :derpyderp2:) Guess I was expecting the fantasies to follow the tone of the original short and first movie adaptation.

Oh, and I don't quite understand this section. Maybe it glitched?

“Oh Derpy,” Rose said as she threw herself into a hug, “do

“I do...”

Also...

Maybe all those ponies who call you ‘dumb’ and ‘scatterbrained’ are right.

“No, they’re not!” She stomped indignantly into the soft earth.
