After a long night of hard work, Luna just wants to have some fun playing one of the greatest PC games ever made... But encounters a slight problem.

I can relate about games not working. I bought Fate recently at walmart, which works fine with Vista, but apparently, 7 will not play it.

Hell, I was told that I might not be able to do Battlefield 2 on a Win7 machine. Fortunately, Win7 supports the game just fine lol

oh god dungeon keeper was hard at times i fully under stand.

Good on Celly, there. :trollestia: Nope, not much work done that night.

oh luna why would u go to such sites.

I bought the PC version of breath of Fire 4, so many good memories of that game..

AND IT'S NOT COMPATIBLE!

*cries*

She could have just gotten an emulator... :trixieshiftright:

Ah, Dungeon Keeper. Never played the first game actually, but I liked the sequel just fine. Then I tried installing it again after ages of not playing it on my new computer... NOT COMPATIBLE. Cue amazing eruption of gamer rage. :twilightangry2::flutterrage:

This fic brings back memories and not all of them good, lol. :rainbowlaugh:

Methinks Luna needs a GOG account, since Good Old Games has the Dungeon Keeper games set up with emulation, along with Theme Hospital, Magic Carpet and a bunch of other old favourites.

*Grins* Heaven help us when someone teaches Luna about emulators and abandonware sites:rainbowlaugh:

I also have a certain fondness for vintage games.

There are not enough grins in this world to express my reaction on reading this.

It's called "virtualization," comes in handy sometimes.

I love my good old Windows 3.1 VM. I boot it up whenever I need a reminder of how far we've come. :rainbowlaugh:

*cough*DOSBox*cough*

Have DK running on Windows 8. Heh.

I too know the pain of seeing the ‘Not compatible’ notification Luna.:applecry:

Oh, man, I miss that game. I wasn't that great at it, but it was a ton of fun.

Well, we can hope that War For The Overworld will be a good game.
Seriously, I hope it will be better then Impier

I use Win XP Pro, always will.

Vista sucks.

7 sucks.

8 really, really, really, really sucks.

I'm waiting for them to perfect this-https://www.reactos.org/.

Ah yes. Some day, Microsoft will put a "Compatibility Mode" into Windows ...that actually works.
I'd gripe about Windows 8 here, but... This would be a poor choice of a website to beat a dead horse.

Ah, how I know your pain Luna.

Also soooo many wonderful gems from the late 90's.

little did Luna know that she could have run it in compatibility mode

Lulu needs to try minecraft
