Parchment, Scrolls and Hearts of Gold

Keeping in touch through letters, two friends become very close and maybe even more. After Twilight moves to Canterlot, to help the sick princess, she and Pinkie Pie discover a close friendship they never knew about.

Sooo... Princess Celestia died? Alas, yet another good soul lost to keep our ships afloat. I salute thee, Fanfiction Princess Celestia No. 7,592. You died *sniff* for a noble cause.

However, I don't see why Fanfiction Princess Celestia No. 7,592 (Or FPC 7,592) is listed as a character if all she does in the story is get ill and croak. She has just about as much of a part as the other Mane Six or Luna. Never speaking, and only being mentioned briefly in a few sentences.

Gotta love Twilight and Pinkie Pie I enjoyed this; but I would think Twilight would've been a bit more devastated with Celestia's death. Her letter with informing Pinkie didn't show much feelings toward it.

Still, I really enjoyed this story. Good job!

Jegus, that was sad, adorable, and well written.

I needed a good Twinkie Pie story, and this was the one I came across. I thought that Twilight might had a little more to say about Princess being that she died and all. Other than that, the characterization was very well done. A few grammatical errors, but other than that, this was a pleasant read. Thank you for sharing this story with us.

Aww. Sweet and sad.

It felt a bit rushed, though.
As someone who's had penpals in the past, I know that all the effort it takes to write and then send a letter makes you want to write a lot more. The first letters between Pinkie and Twilight were great. I love how you got so much of Pinkie Pie's voice into the letter like that but as we got further and further down, the letters got shorter and shorter, when the emotions they were conveying should have led to them getting longer and longer. Like, they wouldn't launch right into the sadness of their life stuff, they would draw it out a little, perhaps write about something mundane like the weather or something funny that happened before they get around to the part they needed to get off their chest (do ponies carry problems on their chest or somewhere else, I wonder?)
You totally could have drawn this out over a couple of chapters, at least. Then it would have even got some more attention, too.
