Well done. I'm particularly enamored with Vinyl, happy to see she doesn't spend the fic talking about "wubs" but still conveys the right amount of cool, carefree and playfulness while maintaining enough maturity to not be a literal one-trick pony.

Octavia barely managed to stumble to her feet as she was pulled further and further away from her bed.

I also like Octavie; with more personality than typical fanon, and the spray-paint thing makes a lot of sense somehow. I like how once again, people realize that every action has a consequence; 'nopony was hurt' really sums up my only real issue with the show itself.

That was... FANTASTIC!

I had forgotten what tags this had so I was at some points hoping Octavia wasn't going to end up doing anything foalish to herself or that she'd end up with a stress-induced heart attack . I really enjoyed this story a lot, that moment as Vinyl was checking her records to place a new on the player as Tavi came back from the gala, picking out a record and getting up to turn to her friend beginning to speak to her cheerfully only to turn full faced at her and then being stunned, lost for words for a moment and nearly dropping her record at the sight of her disheveled friend, well that scene just played out magically smooth in my head. The small details, they added up nicely in this fic to the emotional impact.

The whole friends since childhood and nothing more is pretty cool. I always preferred them as friends personally then some random magically falling in love couple. You can just do more with a story when things aren't already set in stone when it comes to things like relationships, if that makes any sense to you at all.... In short, friendship that last a life time > getting it on with your best friend. We have enough pairings honestly... would it kill a person to just accept one pair of ponies as having an honest to goodness friendship where nothing sexual ever comes between them? I mean, you can live with someone for years and doesn't mean you're both doing it!

I apologize... That little tangent, um, well, moving on!

This story flowed so smoothly, the transition from scene to scene, the highlights rather then a full retelling of events others tend to do with Gala flashbacks etc, and the genuine friendship you feel throughout the story and Vinyl being stuck in those awkward moments of not knowing how to react to such unfamiliar events like that really felt like something I had to go throughout with another friend of mine once. Octavia's holding everything in... I can relate to that, I once fainted from the rush of blood to my head or lack there of from dealing with so much stress yet never showing it. Not a pleasant feeling at all...

What a way to setup a story. This deserves feature box 100%! Up voted and faved!

Octavia had me pretty worried there, this fic could of gone tragic at any point here. I need to go check out what tags this story has lol though it was quite fun not knowing!

I would also hope somepony has the brains to point out to Octavia that Celestia allowed the Mane 6 to do what Vinyl would have loved to do:  totally troll the rich snobs and be completely untouchable.

Celestia helped knock the snobs down a peg or two, while utilizing the natural 'talents' of 6 ponies who, as they saved Equestria from Eternal Night at this point in time, cannot be prosecuted or persecuted for misbehaving.  

And let's not forget, Octavia was aiming to be one of those snobs, to attend their parties and grow wealthy from their patronage.  If she disliked them, she never would have had the guts to say so or else they'd stop hiring her.  She was acting like a hypocrite of the highest caliber!  She acted high and mighty, then when dealt a set-back her reponse is to 'scribble on a wall with crayons' more or less.  What a spoiled brat!

It's my first XCOM game and I'm getting some really polarizing opinions on it. Some people hate it, some people love it. I don't think I'll ever understand why.

I personally like it, although the camera issues are kind of annoying. The rooftops won't disappear when my soldiers are inside buildings or ships.

In the center of the mass of ponies was the statue of Celestia.

The statue had been erected weeks ago, amid much fanfare. Only the elitist of Caterlot's elite had been invited to its unveiling, which had been punctuated by a long speech from Prince Blueblood. The statue itself was the work of one of the finest sculptors in all of Canterlot, Marble Chisel, who had spent months on the project. It was elegant, it was flawless, it was for all intents and purposes the perfect statue.

And now, it was green.

i can see this going 2 ways, 1 oct just becomes a fly by night punk or 2 she starts as a fly by night punk but the rabbit hole goes deeper, and  she falls throught the levels, into punk, full punk, then anti-socal hoolagan all the way down to manic menace to socity and a pretence to homicide ala the Joker.

I been waiting for a story like this. This is very good and very well thought out. The ponies and their reactions are very realistic and very well defined. I also want to see some back lash on the ponies that ruin Octavia's chance at the Gala.

Or, to put it in other words: Twilight's friends are rude, destructive hicks who don't care about anyone than themselves and destroyed a party they didn't pay to attend, and still managed to pull a karma houdini because of friends in high places! And Vinyl is an idiot who blames everything on "snobs" when she doesn't know a lick of what happened, and can't even be bothered to read the newspaper!

I've never read a story involving Octavia nor Vinyl. One thing I would like to say now that I have is that this is not expected. But that is a good thing. My first impression of the cellist after watching the show was that she seemed really dignified and would probably live a slow paced, but deliberate life.

Of course, the fanon would say otherwise for the most part.

While her posture may have suggested a very reserved mare with an upper class mindset, this story goes against that. It has paired Octavia and Vinyl together and dictates to us that they are childhood friends living in a society that can be pretty cruel to those without advantage.

I was not expecting her not to live a sophisticated lifestyle. Not to say that she is anything but a well kept mare, but that her life is simpler than what I would have thought her to live. That's what I find interesting.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

...woah. So, if I've taken all this in correctly, we're looking at a fic in which Octavia becomes some sort of grafitti-wielding anarchist. And it's extremely well-written.

This is comprised of 100% pure, grade-A Win. Therefore, it gets thumbs-upped and Tracked.

This is amazing. Octavia and Vinyl are really well-rounded, and Tavi's breakdown totally makes sense.

And I've woken up my friends in much the same spirit: Stand on the bed and shift your weight between your feet as rapidly as you can (without falling), it'll bounce them awake.

One of the best Tavi Stories in the history of fimfiction. Please, can I have more?

She flipped out because Celestia essentially said that nothing that happened to her mattered.  

frazzled mess, her coat matted and disheveled, and her bow tie hung loosely around her neck. A long scratch ran the length of her right foreleg, not deep enough to draw blood but still easily noticeable by anypony. Her cello case was also in bad shape, dented along the side, with flecks of frosting and traces of feathers and animal fur caught in its latches. Her face, most noticeably to Vinyl, was empty and distant

Hell, I'm simply impressed someone found a way to give Octavia a role in a story. She's usually not really doing anything other than controlling Vinyl or getting knocked up. Even I, with the the most bs premise ever and literally doing anything and everything, couldn't find a purpose for her. You made her a badass, and for that we thank you.

And that? That is how you go from the Read Later list to the Favorites list and a thumbs up. Great chapter! I can't wait to read what happens next, please don't keep us waiting for long!

I cannot do anything but support this story wholeheartedly. I do kind of wish Tavi had been a little more inspired in her art though. I was kind of hoping she'd turn the statue into a green striped zebra, the stripes being made of the words "nopony was hurt" over and over, or maybe "harmless fun." Can't expect a masterpiece her first time out though.

I know where Octavia is coming from.

This story is brilliant, and as a huge fan of banksy I feel the need to read more.

And as a performer, I feel the hope that Octavia will get what she deserves, a fair chance.

Amazing story. Love the portrayal of both Octy and Vinyl here. As an amateur pianist, I can totally feel for Octy in this situation.

I had never even heard of Banksy until I saw this and decided to watch the film. It was the most fascinating film I've seen in a while.

The same goes for the story; this is my favorite take on Octavia and Vinyl I've read so far, and the story itself is wonderfully written and I'm dying to see where it goes.

What an excellent story. I very much enjoy Octavia fics, and as such have read quite a few, and this has to be one of the best I've read, and you're only at the exposition. This promises to be an amazing fic which I will enjoy all the way to the denoument. In short, well writ.

There's no law against defacing property?  Yet Octavia is terrified of being caught.

This is a very good chapter.  I found myself following the thing through to the end, wondering what would happen next.  There was an excellent sense of suspense.  As well, from the moment "Flanksy" was said, I immediately thought, "This is going to become somepony's nickname, either Blueblood's or Octavia's."

I kinda want one of the Princesses to issue a statement on the whole thing. Possibly asking for a private meeting with whoever did it.

I was writing the next chapter for one of my stories. It's already 1,793 words long, give or take, and I'm only halfway through. I'm trying to get this done and to my pre-readers before tomorrow.

Then I saw that Exit Through Canterlot updated, and it was no descision.

Another excellent chapter; well worth my while. I'd almost feel sorry for Prince Blueblood at the end, but then I remember who we're talking about.

I loved your characterization of Fleur and Fancy Pants, plus the interactions between Vinyl and TaviTaviTaviTaviTavi were as great as the first chapter. I can't wait to see what the princesses have to say about all of this!

Pure beauty.... Prince Blueblood getting what he finally deserves! Worth every word just to read the description of the art placed around for all to see... I really want to see at least one of the princesses happy with the defacing of Blueblood.
