I also enjoy that blog and find it almost tragic. The true curse of a Time lord, to watch as everything around you fades and withers while you can only watch as those you loved and treasured die. Sometimes a Time lord lives too long.
I think what you have hear has captured very well the what Derpy is going through, its pretty much a lose lose situation in the end. Give yourself a well earned pat on the back, and a muffin.

I really felt that the Dr. has one of the most tragic circumstances ever. He may fall in love with someone, but he can't truly love them for long.
And... just poor Derpy. It breaks my heart.
