Based on the info I've gathered from reading this story I think I know the real Identities of Goldie and Selene. I think they are human versions of Celestia and Luna from a different human world that isn't EQG. Or more specifically human versions of Daybreak and Nightmare Moon, though based on their portrayed personalities not evil.
Sorry if i spoiled the twist i don't know how to redact (place black bars over words) on console or my laptop (which i got to take in and fix when i have enough money)
