Gallus lays upon the empty beach of Mount Aris.

But it quickly becomes less empty.

Settling down next to him, keeping a respectful distance between them both, Terramar shot him a gentle grin. “Oh come on, the water’s nice.” He giggled as he traced a swirl into the sand next to Gallus’ drawing. “And everyone’s waiting for you. Silver’s been begging me to go out and come looking for you.”

Just two guys chilling on a beach, 6 feet apart because they're not gay. Oh, wait. Maybe they are. Who can say, really?

Cute little story, nice work :)

“That was sarcasm, wasn’t it?”

Another laugh from Gallus, this time followed by a sigh. “Bingo. My one form of communication. I’m surprised Silverstream didn’t warn you.”

It is the language he's most fluent in. :trollestia:

Nice little story. I like how you leave a fair bit of it open to interpretation.

Awww that's a pretty cute story and it's always nice to see Silver Streams little brother Terramar not a lot of stories about him that much since his first appearances back in season 8 but it was a nice conversation between these two and I like it keep up the good work

A short and sweet little story. Feels like there could be more, a story within a story about why Gallus is on Mount Aris to begin with.

I like seeing Gallus and Terramar interact.

Looking away moments later, Gallus let out a deep sigh. “It’s terrifying. The way it’s all so massive, but completely surrounds you. No matter where you go, it just consumes you and I just…” He trailed off with another sigh, this one more sharp and shuttery than before.

Interesting coalescence of his half-cattiness and established claustrophobia. Makes a lot of sense for him, and you executed it really well.

Nice little interaction between these two. Kudos!

Little sweet story like a bon bon before bed. Thanks for sharing.

And yet, as the tide rolled in towards him, he cringed and pulled away from it. His wings flapped, forcing him into the air and away from the encroaching tide.

aww, he is not a hippogriff! no reason to find the water anything other than cold and not for birds

“Oh! It was the way that the Sequestrian sea is always magically warm and that…”

that does explain why Twilight and friends did not immediately die of hypothermia in the icy sunless depths

Another laugh from Gallus, this time followed by a sigh. “Bingo. My one form of communication. I’m surprised Silverstream didn’t warn you.” He looked towards the ocean, its rolling tide, and cringed when it drew close to him.

aww, poor lovable cringe griffon

“I’m not really big on water.” Gallus finally sighed out. “I’m basically half cat, so I guess it makes sense I don’t vibe too much with water.”

make sense! what is the ocean if not a giant bathtub

“It’s hard, but it always helps to have a friend.” Terramar gripped Gallus’ claw tighter for a moment

Another silence fell between the two as they stared out at the ocean together.

yay, friendship! and definitely getting GallBar dynamic feels here, which makes sense since i could easily see Terramar as a Sandbar-type. their names even rhyme!

Terramar scoffed, a smile still on his face. “Oh come on, the ocean isn’t that bad.”
Gallus briefly gave Terramar a look.

”How many fish are in there?”
“I couldn’t even guess. Millions?”
“And where does their crap go?”
“… So, want any company?”

Nice bit of expanding the “cat hates water” joke into full-on thalassophobia, but the story still feels kind of padded out... yet it still feels like it stops before the story's actual ending. You probably could’ve pared down the narration and description a bit to free up some word count. Still, thank you for an enjoyable beach tale. I especially appreciated the rare character interaction.
