Well. This had potential.
I don't often give even minorly bad pseudo-reviews, but I really expected more from this, even if it was meant to be clop material. The Aurora, its history, how Luna came to know and/or meet Serenity, plenty of things could have a lot more detail given to them. Perhaps have this thing befriend RD and have RD wind up learning more about it from Luna, or perhaps do some kind of mind-melding with it and learn directly? I don't know.
In either case, what it all comes down to is that I really expected more detail and explanation about all of the stuff that was in this fic, instead of some quick-clop and a few things giving us a vague description of what Luna's up to and what the Aurora is and nothing else. Why does it need to sex up ponies to live every two years? How did the Auroras as a whole not die out a really long time ago because of this necessity? Can they sex up any creature to prolong their existence? What, in the process of sexing up a pony, do they gain that keeps them alive? Sexual fluids? Perhaps in the process of penetrating a female, they steal fertile eggs that somehow contribute to them prolonging their existence by way of self-reproduction? Perhaps the same goes for males, except when they take the stallion's seed, they combine it with their own DNA to prolong themselves by way of self-reproduction? So many possibilities in my head, but no explanation!
Don't get me wrong, the story's enjoyable, it's good! I just think it could've been much better with just a little more time and a little more effort given towards giving everything better explanation and explaining certain things better. Perhaps utilize flashbacks to detail Luna's relationship with Aurora? Just a thought.

Very well written, but I feel you may have erred slightly in your desire to make the experience read as pleasantly and comfortably as possible. Mainly in that you made the setting romantic but the sex clinical.
The way the sex was portrayed was similar to an erotic massage. However the emotional portrayal and physical dynamics spoke more to gentle lovemaking. Yet Dash's participation was so passive. A little passion in addition to the pleasure would have been nice. She's an experienced mare after all. Lying there like a dead fish (or Japanese porn actress) is not the most entertaining way to go about it.
And to echo what FireSoul said, I wouldn't mind seeing a narrative form of this story with actual plot and character development.
(Personal bizarre concept idea -warning please ignore for sanity's sake-:
The Aurora that Dash mated with is not the same one that Luna did. A young Aurora needs to mate with another sapient creature to form a bond in order to exist their world. This one could be the offspring of Luna's Aurora and now Dash has a companion as well. The companionship should be well beyond merely romantic and have some import to it. Perhaps the rest of the mane 6 could also gain companions and have sexy fun adventures. Maybe they have their own societal issues and they gain power from generating sexual pleasure to contest each other.)
I liked the feel to this- it was soft and tranquil, instead of straight up perverted.
I wouldn't mind knowing more, and would much love more detail on the why's, but sometimes knowledge ruins the fun.
I loved the shortness and general tranquility of this. Favourite tentacle story, for sure.

Although correct you are in saying that more passion should've been shown. But if you were being felt and relaxed by a giant Lugia, would you try to move and react back to it?

To be honest, I liked that she didn't squirm around or try to take charge. It just felt like it portrayed something more like a very sensual, erotic massage, where she just kinda became this passive thing just focusing on how it felt. The creature seemed to prefer it that way, and it kinda fit the creature, no talking, just mimic and bodylanguage. I get what you mean, but I feel in this particular story, that approach wouldn't have made it as enjoyable to me personally. You know?

Hmm. Well I have absolutely no issue with erotic massage. I think it's facinating.
My issue was that erotic massage ususlly carries a certain sense of detachment. The other person only exists as what their hands are doing, not as someone to relate to during sex.
In this storry that level of detachment fell apart around the time of penetration. The emotional interaction between the characters was tanatlizing, but never developed into an expected level of passion.
I also wouldn't want Dash to "take charge" here, but displaying passion is not the same thing.

For me personally her lack of interaction made sense being as this creature was genderless, and how fast it happened, she was probably confused, leaving her very passive.
If I'm not misunderstanding, you mean more the emotions between them? If so- yeah, it would be interesting to see what's going on there, but as said, Rainbow Dash 'cottonballing' it kinda felt nice, like the emotions and realizations would come later, and the creature probably would leave when finished. Not sure if the creature could have an orgasm, but it certainly did seem to enjoy the sensation.
But- yeah, I enjoyed it as is. If I were to edit it, I would make changes, maybe some refocuses, but all in all, I liked the feeling.
Maybe the lack of passion was one of the things I enjoyed- I'm not sure.

I think you overdid the descriptions though. Absolutely everything was done gently, softly, lovingly, ect. It was good at first, but as it went on, I was expecting the 'mood' to escalate, but it didn't.
