This story mostly stands on its own, I think. The first draft was an entry in the May 2022 Writeoff, where it got a silver medal. It is interesting to report that my competitor in that round, the redoubtable KwirkyJ, came in next to last!

This rewrite in which you padded this story out is better than the one in the Writeoff. Still this reminds me of the song "There's A Hole In The Bottom Of The Sea".
I fear that if I praise the ending of this story highly enough, I will be misunderstood by too many.
I laughed a lot, but differently flavored appreciative reactions are fine too.
I would also suggest that Discord is hard to use really well in a story, and I believe you have done it.
